Yes this is a rule suggestion, thats my mistake. Either way though I still think this has valid complaints. I dont see how it can be seen as roleplay to run up to a car and search it (even when you lock it because the UI just works that way I guess.) with no roleplay. Everything in this server needs roleplay to happen, you can't just shoot someone there needs to be escalation, you can't just rob someone there needs to be roleplay and a valid reason. So why is it that when I get my car out of parking and im trying to get inside to drive it, someone immediately runs up to it and searches the trunk preventing me from getting inside and driving off? it just seems cheap.

Hi, I LOVE LOVE LOVE new players especially new roleplayers, Quiet made a bunch of really good points, Here are some guides to get started. A lot of this stuff is out dated, but I think you'll be able to use the roleplay guide one pretty well!

Love Love LOVE Music stuff man, this shit was hard asf. If you're interested in more stuff we got some RP going on within our faction thread. Additionally check out "Lyrical Melonade" on Life Invader some really cool stuff @wozz and Tommy Jacobsen (from OTF) are doing as well. I think we need more stuff like this on the server as it promotes some really cool RP

Can't say I agree. I play a crim, I go to prison semi-often, and I personally savor my prison time cause I like the grind, and I most definitely know for a fact there are times where there aren't guards, either clocked in or they are clocked in but are sitting afk behind the desk. I think this server has much more to benefit from adding things to do in DOC than punishing players that aren't always able to RP/ Can't RP.

-1 While I see where this is coming from, I feel like this doesn't take into account times people would be serving prison time when its a dead time of the server and nothing is going on, and you're the only one online. In that scenario there is no one to RP with, nothing to do but grind and not everyone wants to be doing that. Sometimes it's easier to spend the time watching a show while you wait your time. I like the idea of enhancing Prison RP but I do not think this is the way to do it all this does is make people dislike the prison system IMO

No because it would be way too easy to review bomb someone and then if they get reported all they have to show for their own character is a bunch of reviews that could've been from people that lost a gun fight to them, had an argument with them etc.

I like the idea of this command being used however im only worried that people can assemble and send in a bunch of /badrp as a way of getting them in trouble or looked down upon. Basically just afraid of the command being abused

For the sake of clarity I was *Not* speaking of streamer communities and I was not speaking of making ECRP a "streaming" community either. I was simply stating that there are communities that simply do not allow the things we are talking about in this discussion.
-
In complete honesty this makes no sense to me. There are tons of RP communities out there where stuff like this and the things that are being referenced and talked about in this conversation is bannable immediately with no chance of appeal. Now i'm not saying that SHOULD BE how it is. But I can tell you with absolute certainty that this community would not be harmed by a rule change in the interest of making our community safer. No one is saying "Make it bannable to say bitch" or "Cunt" I feel like this conversation has clearly illustrated its intention.

While I cannot speak for the female player base of the server I can say I appreciate your communication in seeing this post and telling us what steps you and the rest of staff are taking even if it is just letting us know that the topic at hand isn't being ignored.
-
With all due respect, my next message may sound aggressive but I only intend for it to add onto the conversation. When you say "generic insults" people can get away with saying disgusting things like cat-calling because it has no insinuation of "sexual assault" however it still makes female players feel unsafe. Stuff like "I don't recognize you with your clothes on" Don't necessary mean "Sexual Assault" but 100% do add onto the feeling of being unsafe in the community and those people can get away with it. Not only that but I know of multiple instances where stuff like this *IS* reported such as sexual assault and it has gone unpunished and that is what this discussion is about. I'd be happy to talk more about it but its not really up to me as I personally cannot speak from the perspective of a victim. Only that I dont think the current rules in place are good enough we 100% need something better.

It isn't happening more, its not happening less, and it never stopped happening at all. Its always been a problem since my FIRST EVER day on the server i've seen it time and time again. The only reason you hear about it less is because when women go out of their way to report, with clear and decisive evidence it gets denied because of a certain clause in the rules, or because no one "said they were uncomfortable" despite the clear lack of enthusiasm in the roleplay. As it is currently the rules surrounding gross RP until recently protected those kinds of people. Even now there are ways people can squeeze their way out of it by saying "Had I known this was offending the person I would've stopped" Because of this it has left women in the server feel powerless to do anything. Its no longer as simple as "If you see something say something" that shipped has long since sailed. Its no longer an option for some women because we've seen time and time again where women are left helpless in the face of these actions and its very disappointing to see. I only ask that we at least start trying to find solutions to fix this. It doesn't have to be an immediate rule change, or it doesnt have to be particular people getting punishments just something that shows me that we are trying to protect our player base.

I know you're not disagreeing im simply disagreeing with your point of "white knighting" because in my opinion that shouldn't be factored into the conversation of the safety of our community members as it benefits no one.
-
There is no "White Knighting" that is a completely made up and belligerent term. The idea of "White Knighting" is men feeling insecure when defending a woman because they worry about what it makes them look like. These problems are REAL, these are REAL people behind the screens and regardless of the RP of the matter, women deal with this stuff every day some deal with much much worse. 80% of people use gaming as an escape from reality, using gaming as an escape only to come and deal with the same things over again is dangerous. As a community we should fight for the comfort of our members. I personally see no reason this shouldn't be an active effort within staff to rid this kind of stuff from the community. Absolutely NO ONE benefits from RP like that, if that IS something YOU want to RP I would like to see some sort of rule put in place that the RP has to be agreed upon BEFORE any sort of IC actions/discussion is had, as it removes any sort of possible discomfort. However I admit Ideally I'd like for that RP to be strictly forbidden. I don't make the rules im only here to share my opinion.

+1 From my perspective there should be zero reason why anyone should roleplay any kind of sexual harassment of any kind, comments like "I dont recognize you with your clothes on" and "Get some real dick" (Both of these are comments i've genuinely heard in game) Just simply shouldn't be allowed on the server. I do not see why anyone would want to roleplay that image for themselves. I understand people have their own roleplay, and they want to create stories for their characters, but I am 100% of the belief the comfortability of our player base is infinitely more important than RP that will hurt our community. I've seen these things negatively affect female members of my faction and it genuinely makes my skin crawl. Love the suggestion hoping to see some changes made very soon

Massive +1 The only way I can see this being bad is if there's some way to abuse this feature to keep someone knocked out. Maybe make it so you can only he knocked out once or twice before damage becomes lethal

+1 depending on the amount of roadworkers (because its how the roadworkers job works) this is inevitable which actually blows. I love roadworkers so im biased but this is a massive +1 from me :))

Make it available for us to take guns from cops
Jordan replied to Harshay_Agarwal's topic in Criminal Suggestions
While I understand the intent behind this suggestion, and while I think I can partly agree, I feel like the negatives far out weigh the positives. Would it be more convenient to be able to just be able to take a cops gun off their body? Absolutely. Would it be good for the community? I think no, in fact I think it would have such a negative impact on the community the decision would be reversed almost immediately. Im sure you're aware of the current "Crim v LEO" conversation going on around the community, whether you believe Crims have it better, or Cops have it better is irrelevant because one thing is painfully clear. A lot of crims go out of their way to fight cops, there have been gangs in the past whose entire objective was to fight cops, and while this could look good from a lore standpoint it ultimately breeds a very unhealthy economy for the server because the more crims fight cops for the sake of fighting them the more toxic the player base gets. Ultimately, if crims are fighting cops now just for the sake of fighting cops, I can only imagine how bad it would be if crims had a reason for it such as obtaining their firearms. While its very annoying that when a cop is killed you cannot retrieve their guns off of their bodies like you would be able to if it was a fight with another crim, I believe its very necessary to combat a very dangerous implementation.
