Car boosting.

Boosting is essentially stealing cars for cash.

the way it would work:

  1. Crim purchases a laptop and logs into boosting. (laptop can be sold by Civilian stores or specifically Digi-den near police station)
  2. Laptop gives you the option of C-S class cars but as you've only just started you can only Boost C class (the lowest class)
  3. you secure the job by clicking on the boost you want (just like the view order panel for trucking)
  4. your GPS then shows almost a mile radius, you have to circle each street in that radius and find the vehicle requested on the laptop before breaking in and hotwiring.
  5. once hotwired an NPC is marked on the map for you to deliver the car to.

The more cars you boost successfully the higher tier of car you can boost, the more money you get per car.

PD side: you would see slow moving Crim vehicles, active vandalism and the laptop with boosting software would be evidence of "intention to commit theft"

The cars would also immediately flag up as stolen and if the lockpick fails PD would receive an automatic call just like with ATMs - none of the cars would have any mods and you'd be able to pretty easily catch them.

This should be a risky thing to do for crims but worth it if you're going to get to the S tier

+1 crim jobs with tiers would be good and keep us busy with goals to achieve. Add crim jobs that are related to packed cash, drugs and delivering weapons etc

Hello, for Eclipse at the moment (or even a while now) criminal content has been stale and lacks main content. Although yes you can do a lot of things through RP, the main content for crims are; Banks, Stores, ATM's, House Robberies, (now only public) cooking and chopping. For a good amount of players who can only connect at lower populated times where there are no cops online have Stores, Banks and ATM's out of the question as they need 3 cops online or 10 cops online respectively.

Now, I have a simple concept, Vehicle Boosting. This is an amazing feature a lot of other places have and I believe that it would only be a good addition for ECRP too.

The way it would (or could) work would be adding a UI to the Laptop Item or another Dealer for it. For the Laptop you can interact with it for the contracts and have a few different contracts (essentially like the house robbery script) that vary in difficulty and price. Buying one of these contracts would spawn a vehicle somewhere and give you a blip for it, you have to make your way there and steal the vehicle successfully then drop it off at a certain location.

There could even be 'Night-Time Only' contracts where a vehicle spawns in a garage of a random house and the player has to keep quiet and steal the vehicle.

For higher tier contracts of course there need to be risks, that could be having the vehicle called out to PD/SD over a call giving the Colour and Model of the vehicle and of course the location stating that someone is stealing it, making it so the player needs to have some skill in pick locking to get it open and hotwired before PD/SD show up. This could also turn into an evasion where you need to lose the cops before dropping it off.

I think this could be a great thing for crims to do and a really fun addition.

There's a lot of details I could be missing so feel free to tweak my suggestion in the comments and let your thoughts be known.

Don't think it necessarily needs PD or SD being called but it's a decent idea.

  • Just either piggy back it onto the civvie cars that get spawned, with you needing to steal a specific one or spawning a specific vehicle for this purpose.
  • Steal it and take it to an Airport.
  • Stay in the spot, like the old chop shop and wait for the timer.
  • Car exported and money earned.

Maybe the downside is that the alarm goes off a little longer or something idk.

It's not something game changing but adds a little extra something.

There's a lot of people who just enjoy evading as criminals. There's a lot of cops who really enjoy chasing people. This is a simple way to get more of that activity naturally. Spawn certain tiers of cars around the map that can be found. When found a criminal will get a text that said car is hot, and to be delivered to a certain location or used for a certain thing. This could even be RP'd as random bait cars that spawn around the map that criminals can steal and deliver to the "cartel"  for money and criminal experience.

I suggest there be certain tiers of cars and the tier of car being stolen determines the tier of cars cops can pull out to chase this car. The car can be pinged like ATM's (although i recommend real time tracking as its near impossible to catch up to anything with the atm ping system that is able to go a decent speed unless they mess up.). This will give cops an opportunity to drive some of the different cars given to them but serve no purpose cause they can't keep up with meta cars. The way you know which tier to use is that the 911 call made will be from a npc cop that was scouting the car notifying cops that a tier x color, model, LP: of car has just been stolen and speeding away, tracker has been activated. The car's GPS is then locked into place for a certain amount of time and once finished, the GPS can be taken out. Until then cops can see the car on the map as they would other cruisers. (make it a different color so its not too confusing). Once the GPS is able to be taken out, the car can be delivered to a location that will be pinged on the drivers map, and its now up to them to get it there.

I feel this will be a breath of fresh air to so many people like i think Ottis Walton who just gets on, steals a scrap car and evades for the fun of it. This is now a more natural way to do this, while maintaining the type of fun he has. It will create more RP for cops as they now have a legit reason to chase someone over them just baiting a pursuit for no reason.

as Otis Walton, i definitely give this a +1.

i find it frustrating that the bonus's given through leveling up specifically for lockpicking and hotwiring cars will forever be out of reach for Otis, as they require different types of criminal activity that Otis, as a character, doesnt partake in.

having this would give another way of having the experience i desire, as well as giving some opportunity for Otis to unlock hotwire and lockpicking perks

How I think this should go down script wise is:

You go to a mechanic criminal NPC and speak to him

He will offer you the job, it will be unrestricted from being faction F4, as in everybody can do this; but factions will be awarded influence for doing the job

The mechanic will spawn in a specific vehicle and tell you where the vehicle is, and say he’d want you to steal it and take it to a garage or to him

You go to the vehicle and steal it, and deliver it

After you deliver it you get paid, and the pay will depend on the vehicle, IE: higher tier cars pay more etc

Maybe the more criminal or burglary XP you earn the higher chance for a high tier car
