  1. +1 from me, my post awhile back didnt get much traction, i saw someone put a link to it. I suggested in my original that we could apply or purchase a exemption for individual vehicles. But found out thats not scriptly viable. Even though i was hemerging money, i still drove my own truck. Because it felt like mine, i guess the hardest pill to swallow was getting flak from a dude in a free truck about how dumb i was for not having a free truck.. Yes ive used it for fishing and other things, but i wanted the truck to do trucking with orders. I had /report when i paid my first toll, because i believed it was a mistake. The admin told me to find another route. I told them, so i spent all this money to make less and have to travel further down a dirt road to avoid a toll. Ive had people say, "its only 300, suck it up" when you're a trucker you are constantly going through tolls, so while 300 here or there isnt a big deal, 300 times 10 is 3000 lost, and 3000 gained for the guy who cant bother to put money into trucking
  2. is 5 days a long time to be stealing cars?
  3. I kinda wish there was a random timer on when it pops up as stolen, as if the npc reported it. give a minimum of 5 mins and a max of 45 mins or something before it turns up stolen in the MDC
  4. @Ash idk if its the same for all semis, but the pounder can only have a turbo upgrade. while parking in the public is nice, but its not much of a drive to the truck yard, at the end of the day i still must fill the tank and get it repaired, not to mention i have to pay toll if im pressed for time. i do go around the tolls when i can. it not being a scripted vehicle is probably the only real perk of having your own truck. but back to the original point, it doesnt make sense realistically, does the truck yard have infinite money that they can just pass trucks out to anyone with a license? and then they get to bring it back in pieces, with an empty tank? what is the Trucking Company that rents these trucks out get in return? the only draw back of renting is that if youre outside the truck too long itll disappear, but i guess that could also be a perk because then you wouldnt actually have to return it to the truck depo. It would definitely be less frustrating if i didnt have to compete with trucks that can freely move through the toll, going around adds quite a bit of time. heck if the exemption cost was around 50k or even higher i would strive to pay for that, because in the long run ill make better money, better times and more orders completed.
  5. I believe the rented trucks are a strange mechanism in the server and don't make sense from a realistic pov. My quams are that these are not "rented" in anyway, they are given with no fees or % cuts from jobs, they also receive free toll passes, they don't have to pay for repairs or fuel. It gives no incentive to buy their own truck. This causes a discrepancy where "rented" trucks are far superior than the owner operators. I've watch many rentals throw caution to the wind, because why does it matter, they don't need to pay for the repairs. Possible solutions: 1. Charge a fee to rent the truck from the truck yard. Or 2. When the truck is returned it charges for fuel and repairs caused by the renters use. Or 3. The truck rental company takes a % of the orders that are completed. I would also like to see the ability to purchase a toll exemption for a personal work truck.
  6. @SmushyTaco @alexalex303 very good points! i forget that some people don't have the maturity to not abuse the system, and i would have to withdraw the first half of my comment. I think an hourly pay would be the best way to bring more incentive to work there. i had worked at the tunnels booth for 8hrs straight to figure out how much i would make in that span of time, i had 27 paid tolls for a total of 8100, 16 unpaid (25 if you count the ones i saw going on the opposite side of the highway to go around the tunnel), 32 pd/md, and 9 other free pass vehicles. 27 paid to 57 unpaid. hard to justify those numbers...
  7. I would have to agree, its nice these places have worked out a deal with the tollbooth department, but why doesn't the person actually running the booth get any money? they are expected to work an already underpaid job for less? i would suggest maybe 50-100 per free toll that passes the bar, whether they /paytoll or the tollbooth guy raises it in an emergence. another suggestion would be to give an hourly pay, plus the toll that people pay. I enjoy working the booth i just wish i had better incentive to do so.
