chopping prices.

Recommended Posts

wagwan,

i feel like the risk to reward for chopping cars as of now is not worth it at all.

1- if i was to go to a public chop shop to maximise how much i get from the chop, 80% of the time im getting robbed by randoms or gangs. even if i do get away with it most i get is between 8k-12k. But then i split it with my friend where we’re only getting 4k-6k a chop.

2- getting a toolbox right now is impossible when we have to pay triple the price because of the taxes some gangs charge, spoke to someone IC about this earlier today and they said their friend had to pay a 200% extra fee because that was the “tax” they were charged.

A lot of other people feel like chopping isn’t worth the risk at the moment as it doesn’t give you nearly as much as it used too. would like to hear other people’s opinions on this to see what people think of the current state of how the chop shops are set up as of now.

Chopping was always something i enjoyed the most on crim, especially the risks of having your own chop was always somewhat thrilling to do as you had to not only look out for goblins that wanted to steal your belongings but also for LEO's.

• Have high value off-road cars spawn around the map that can only be chopped at certain locations, add a chance for it to have valuables in it like

Guns, Gun repair kits or just ammo.

Packed cash in a bag, from a store or even from a bank robbery at a low % chance.

Crates with drugs inside of it or cooking materials.

these are examples and as there is a lot of different things it could be custom lootboxes so to say.

Chopping in itself will become riskier but the reward feels more, make toolboxes take 100 attempts to dismantle and make the sounds of chopping louder to alert potentially people around you and not make it possible to just chop in a garage hoping noone sees you to earn easy money, they can be aware but chopping with toolboxes should be planned and will come with a risk and should not be an easy money making method but can be if planned properly.

• Make car parts have higher prices that go lower by the quality of it, if the car is barely working and it gets chopped the car parts should be lower grade and earn lesser money, this will make people be more careful and geniunely having to plan and look out while driving those vehicles to get more money out of it.

• more car spawns around the city, possibly even behind garages that could be broken into in roleplay scenarios (good for alt rp etc)

This is just a suggestion and i'd love to see a complete overhaul of the chop system to make it fun appealing and risky!

I absolutely agree with this, although I may not play the crim side of things, having loot inside of NPC cars is such a small change but a really good one. This can make it worth while for people to traverse the map looking for these cars and looting them, then this can also be good for LEO to intervene where necessary as there can be a call that's made to 911 if a failed attempt is made to open the cars.

100% agree with this, having different loot with different spawn rates makes chopping these cars feel a lot more riskier knowing there’s people out there that might see you driving these cars wanting that loot you just got from the car.

great suggestions

Great idea, especially from Frey. I think an idea that could make it more interesting is being able to remove or replace license plates on the cars. Maybe having to pay a medium amount of money to get a fake plate that will show up as the vehicle not being stolen but maybe a different make or something. Not sure how functional that could be but it might be another way to get a vehicle from stealing it to chopping it.

Crim is just a waste of time right now, unless you are already set from before.  Money is impossible to get unless ur in a big gang that are able to fight off others at the 1-2 labs that are active.

I dont know why these changes  to nerf the profits by 45 and sometimes 50% was made, but it is respectfully the worst changes that has come crim wise in a long time.  I chopped 3 cars and the split between my guys was 5k.

Locating the vehicles -> lockpicking and hotwiring -> Manage to get it to the chop without having a cop in a speed trap read the plate -> Be able to chop it without being robbed.   All this took around 45 minutes to 1 hour and we all made around 5k.    You loose or get robbed?  thats easily 10k + + lost.    Labs are 99% dead, gangs are 90% dead because there is little to no motivation anymore and etc.  this is a change that needs to happen asap in my opinion.

+1 to all the good ideas in here from Frey and everyone else.

Hit the nail on the head.

The only way to make decent money currently as a crim is by holding labs, which you cannot do unless you are already in a large Org/Alliance.

And even then, alot of crims do not want to roll labs, because its a glorified TDM warzone filled with Drama, reports, people "/anim sleep"ing in bushes, Save POVs and endless circlejerking...

But its currently your only option. every other criminal activity is either high risk or low reward, a few are both:

-Chopping: just get this one out of the way quickly as its been explained well by others above, heavy nerfs to its profitability, forced to either invest a stupid amount of money into a toolbox to get the most out of each chop or drive it to a very well known criminal location where youre odds on to get jumped.

-Store Robberies: In order to make store robberies work in their current format you need to roll with a minimum of 4 people, this is to empty the register as quickly as possible due to cops being alerted to stores being robbed thus, patrolling the others. 4 is the minimum, it can go much higher. a decent spree without police catching you (which, once again, after the first store they will be patrolling) would be three stores. 3 stores split between 4 people would leave each crim with about 8-12k in profit after washing for well over an hours work. every additional person taken along dilutes the profit whilst also increasing the risk of cops spotting you, which is ever increasing after the first store. oddly one of the more fun activities you can do as a crim but absolutely terrible for your bank account.

-Banks: See what i wrote about store robberies. its pretty much the same but double the amount of people. more if you want to (as is often suggested) play it smart with lookouts etc. the money is not worth the risk.

-House robberies: Recently nerfed due to the changes to animations meaning you are spending at least an hour doing one. even before the nerf on a 20k house the money was not close to worth. on the rare occasion you find a gun it has no ammo so you cannot use it. for a 20k house you can expect, on average after selling everything, about a 40k return. so 20k for about 2 hours work taking into consideration both the robbery itself and the selling off/washing afterwards. coupled together with the fact you can only do these once every in game night, its not a consistent nor a good money maker. profits massively diluted again if you are not soloing it.

-Private labs: Virtually removed. you now need to own property in an extremely remote location for this to even be close to viable. unsurprisingly all of these locations are already owned. mostly by players who already have 7 figure bank accounts. nothing was added to crim RP to compensate for this.

In summary its never been harder to find motivation to hop on my crim. I just don't see the point as progression is painfully slow.

I hope this gets looked at. @Freyster raises some really good suggestions regarding chopping but I think crim activities as a whole need to be looked at.

I huge depression wil follow, look.

before we got an rv to cook to upgrade to houses, put more tables, more money, buy a propperty, more tables more money also more risk.
This could take for some at least a year or 2 to reach that level.

SOON, the highest level in cooking drugs, is a 5 table set up in an RV. And there it stops, there is nothing further expansion anymore after that,

people wil get bored real fast without growth, so. Depression is going to follow even deeper in crim. count my words

Absolutely ridiculous how nerfed it got. Its like the administration team sees something that yields high rewards without regarding the high risk it takes and nerfs it to obsoletion. Good luck bringing a vehicle to the public chop spots without getting robbed, then you factor the split cost of multiple people, and finally the huge initial investment it takes to do a private chop shop. Return it back to his original prices to make it worthwhile again.

The thing to consider with chopping is it might not be massive payout, but its low risk compared to other criminal activities. I have been able to chop cars for hours on end as a solo crim without ever getting caught or seen by anyone. Cars are super easy (as long as you are smart about it) to take to isolated areas and chop them without any issues, at least if you just do doors and tires with the basic tools and a car jack. This is also not to mention you can setup a larger chop at any property and again, as long as you do it in a smart way, you can have a free pass to keep chopping without much chance of getting caught.

Yes, but the main problem as of now, is that you dont make money during it. Chopping it fully with engine and car scrap makes you maybe 9k each car or even less.  splitting this on atleat 2-4 people makes you nothing, and the smart decision would be to not do it at all, and go work at burgershot instead, or roadworkers.   There is a reason crim players play crim, cuz they dont enjoy the legal side, but we are indirectly "forced" to either spend way to much time making no money together with risking loosing more money or go work legal jobs.

Speaking the utter truth here, I've been running crim my whole ECRP playtime even though extremely unsuccessful it was still a means of income. Now ive been forced to go legal cause its honestly not worth the risk to even try chop a car or rob a store because its all been nerfed. There is a dire need to crim to get buffed again cause you can see everyone is getting sick of it. Burger shot is a state now, although it can be enjoyable its unfortunately started to get plagued with toxicity and consistent reports.

A good start to a new crim would be to fix chopping.

Genuine question but how are you solo chopping? It doesn't seem feasable without having atleast 1 other person to taxi you before and after acquiring and chopping the vehicle.

Can't really go into IC details as it would be Metagaming, but if you have a good vehicle to carry parts and tools and find a good spawned NPC vehicle, you can just drive the NPC vehicle to a good isolated spot and chop it. Like I said, I have done this plenty and never got caught. Its just about finding good chop targets and good locations.

doesn't this choke spawns? I've seen a half chopped car sitting in the same spot for like 3 real time days. Unless thats been fixed?

+1 to all suggestions, particularly the items in the NPC cars. House robberies.. I got robbed by the server before I could do any robbing xD

We chopped 4 cars yesterday and we made 5,8k or less each car.

Crim is burning to the ground, gangs are dying and half time crims are quitting.   chopping 1 car is barely even enough to use the scripted medic at the hospitals.  + food and water to heal you up.

and chopping isnt even a one man job! unless you are using the carjacks,  which is now even worse. You might make 1k each car xD this is a joke man!
