  1. That happens because you're a high profile criminal. The officer that pulled you over might have just asked for one additional unit but if there isn't a ton of other stuff going on (or DB is around and they wanna keep an eye on you) then more units will respond. I've done traffic stops before where I ask for one additional and I get three. I've been pulled over where the cop asked for one additional and got five. It's not about being hunted, they just know about your track record and take precautionary measures. Remember, I've been in Rooks and I'm in Royals with you. I have had to deal with the exact same thing. It's not about play to win, or being hunted, or anything like that. If you have a reputation, you have a reputation and they will request backup even for a normal traffic stop. A lot of times, they'd get more backup than they requested just from your name or your gang association alone. Your vehicle doesn't even make a difference. I've been pulled over driving a Packer and ended up with two SWAT scouts, a DB unmarked crown vic and another PD scout parked up for a standard traffic stop, with another PD scout circling the area. I didn't even get a ticket from that traffic stop. Name, association, reputation, that all makes the difference. And I know for a fact that the officer only called for one additional when he performed the traffic stop. So no, it's not about being hunted. It's part of being a criminal and having an extensive record.
  2. Adding the "Failure to pay a fine" charge is normally up to the officer (**when they're higher ranking, lower ranks have to place it). A lot of times, if there's only one or two speeding tickets that are overdue, they give the person a chance to go pay the fines. If they have 5+ outstanding, are known to be gang affiliated, etc. it is more likely that they would be given that charge. At times, even if someone is gang affiliated, if they politely explain that they've been away for several days, officers might let them off with a warning or would escort them to pay the fines. Different cops would handle the situations in different ways and different divisions of LSPD (such as VTD) have different protocols that must be followed. At the end of the day, the charge has to be added manually and it all depends on who you run into, what the circumstances are, division protocols, etc. Most cops don't randomly search up names in the MDC to check if they can add charges like that to just anyone because there's normally something else that needs their attention, especially lately with the new ATM robbing and clothing/gun store robbing updates. The only time you would get "hunted" by PD is if you have an outstanding warrant and there's an actual big reason for them to be after you. It's never over something small like failure to pay a fine. You just got unlucky in this case. With that being said, I do agree with Bala that possibly giving a longer time to pay a fine would be more accommodating for when someone has been unable to come online due to OOC issues. Adding the ability to pay the fine from your phone would be a good feature but would require dev changes, whereas the time to pay a fine would have to be a change in the penal code, which is an IC change and can be handled through IC means. Keep in mind that my opinion is my own and does not reflect the opinion of the LSPD faction as a whole.
  3. My only issue with this is, if it's displayed when you select the vehicle, it can allow people to select vehicles in chases and things like that to get the license plates. Realistically if a car goes flying by you, you wouldn't have time to see the plate. Same thing in something like a hit and run and things like that. A solution that could prevent that kind of abuse would be to have a command that you use to check the license plate, like /checklicenseplate. It could work the same as the command to check the parking pay, but it just shows the car's license plate in text chat. This might also be better since when you select the vehicle, the information disappears as soon as it's unselected. Having it printed in chat might just make things a little easier.
  4. Big +1 I wanna slash the tires of cops that constantly roll up at our HQ. Would also make things interesting if you slash a tire without a cop realising it until after they start driving again, especially if they have to respond to a panic or Code 1 situation.
  5. I believe this is something that is going to be added in the upcoming drug update. To quote the post from the development channel in discord:
  6. I can see this working in one way only. You can choose either pocket money or packed cash. But the packed cash is worth half of the drug selling price, which more often than not would result in a loss of profit on the drugs. So the only time people would have any reason to do this is when they are down bad bad with their launderer. They won't just make profit and double up on influence, they either get profit and influence, or possible loss and double influence. But even then I'm not sure if it would be wise to add this mechanic in when there are other suggestions, like the ones posted by Aldarine.
  7. -1 RV cost is 50k. Apartment is 350k-400k. You say 12 tables in an RV (which I'm not sure about with building rules) and 30-40 in an apartment. With lower cooking times, what's to stop someone from buying 4 RV's for a lab instead of an apartment because they can just cook faster?
  8. A better love story than Twilight.
  9. The Beginning Of Something New “How would you like to be the new Entertainment Manager?” Urban was shocked when Ravyn asked her this, to say the least. Despite the shock, she accepted the promotion at Club Corruption with little hesitation. This had to be good though, right? She needed a good job after getting dishonourably discharged from the DOC and hitting stores with Salvation night crew wasn’t paying as well as she would’ve liked. It wasn’t long until the very first event after her promotion. “Two members of my… family are leaving. It’s a going away party for them.” Urban was terrified, though she wouldn’t admit it. She barely knew anything about Ravyn’s family. But it meant a lot to her that Ravyn would allow her to work at the event despite how short of a time they’d known each other. The event went well. The new girls were doing fairly well despite their inexperience. Urban met a few members of the family, all of them being fairly nice to her even though she was a stranger to most of them. Only the masked man intimidated her for a while, his presence making it obvious that he demands respect. But then Urban saw her. The woman she had only seen once before and didn’t expect to see at all. Harley Pavlovich. They started talking. Then they were flirting and dancing together. Everything about Harley drew her in. She was obviously dangerous and Urban knew she had to stay away but she couldn’t help herself. She wanted this girl. Needless to say, Urban was captivated by her. The other employees started leaving after an hour or two but Urban stayed, talking to the girl she’d quickly become infatuated with. Eventually Urban noticed drugs floating around, the group becoming a bit rowdier and eventually they started sparring for fun. This made Urban chuckle, remembering how she used to spar with people at the pier long before joining DOC. Urban ended up being a medic for them. One gets knocked on their ass, she takes care of them until they got taken to the hospital. Eventually they moved their activities down to the beach where there was more space. She spoke with Ravyn a bit while out there. And she spoke with the intimidating man again and they reached a kind of agreement. She stays loyal to Ravyn and they will be on good terms. Urban already knew she was loyal, so this wasn’t a problem for her at all. Time went by. Urban started spending more and more time with the Rooks, at first because she wanted to spend more time with Harley but later because she liked how they worked as a group. She made friends in there. She grew unhappy with being in Salvation. Many people were. One day, they had a meeting and several members, including Urban as well as her brother Damien, left Salvation. Shortly after they were both prospecting for Rooks. Urban was a prospect for longer than she would’ve liked. But she understood. They needed to be sure she wasn’t joining just for Harley and that she would be an asset to them. It was smart. It was exactly what Urban would have done in their place. 23 October 2021. That’s the day she was practically kidnapped for her R1. Nervousness overtook her. She had been waiting for this for so long and yet it still terrified her. She already knew she might die if they didn’t deem her worthy. That wasn’t what she was afraid of. She was afraid of what would happen to Harley and if she would be alright. She cared more for that woman than for herself. Her R1 started at [REDACTED], as they normally did. Halfway through they had to change [REDACTED] due to people being in the area and hearing a heli in the air above them. This gave Urban a moment to breathe. So far she had two no’s and three yes’s. It made her more nervous than she would’ve liked to admit. When they got to the second location, they continued. Yes. Yes. Yes. It went on. She got another no from Lele, the same person she replaced at Club Corruption as the entertainment manager. Then the same man she found so intimidating all those months ago stepped up to give his vote. “I’m going to be completely honest. You don’t have assets, you don’t have a business background and your relationship with Harley could be… problematic. It’s a no.” Then they counted the votes. Four no’s, eight yes’s. Then one member said that she changed her vote while they were moving to the second location. Then the other person that said no at the second location changed her vote to a yes, provided Urban wore the old uniform. Urban quickly agreed. Two no’s, ten yes’s. And they were cheering. And for the first time in months, Urban felt like she belonged. She felt like she was finally home.
  10. I actually like this suggestion. I love doing medical rp. When I'm the one giving treatment or someone properly RPs treatment. I understand that when you get to a scene, the patient might already be very low health so after the first successful rp you /cpr. I'm fine with that IF if extends the time for quality medical RP. I've had instances where I got shot 10 times and they /stabilize me after pressing gauze into all the wounds. That being AFTER I rped that several of them still had the bullet inside. That's not very realistic. AT MOST it should allow them to /cpr because the bleeding has been slowed and they can then rp more in depth treatment like removing the bullets. I've also had a situation where I fell off a mountain and broke my arm. When the medics got there, they stopped active bleeding and used /cpr. Then they rped treating the broken arm and cleaning and properly treating the cuts and bruises. Then they used /stabilize. How they did it was a lot closer to how it should be done. There was good rp and they didn't just jump onto using the commands quickly so they can wrap up the situation and leave. Needless to say I'd rank the broken arm rp a lot higher than the rp for multiple GSWs. I'm not sure about waiting until half the rp is done before using /cpr. People can be slow typers and that could very negatively impact their rp experience. I think after one or two rp actions are successful they can /cpr as long as it makes sense. Then if the to stretches out a lot longer they can /cpr again. And when the rp is almost completely done to both parties satisfaction, they can /stabilize.

  13. Chapter 1: Start Of Life Life isn’t all bubblegum and rainbows. This is something Urban learned at a very young age. Although she grew up in what appeared to be a loving household, things were never that simple. No, Urban grew up with unrealistic expectations placed on her and being reprimanded if she didn’t live up to those standards. Her parents, Janet and Adam Madine, were both shrewd and unkind individuals. Since Urban was a young girl, they were pushing her to be perfect. Every time she wasn’t perfect, she earned new bruises and mental scarring. She only got 95 on a test and not 100? Beaten with a belt and left to starve for two days. Behind closed doors her parents were monsters and no one knew about it except for her. In public they kept up the façade of being the perfect doting parents with the exceptional daughter. Urban could never understand how they managed to act so different between public and private. In her young mind she believed that they really had to love her, right? Then Urban’s uncle, her father’s brother Michael, started visiting more often. He treated Urban with so much care, Urban didn’t know what to do. Her uncle was always trying to find out about how she was doing, her hobbies. Anything he could ask about, he did. He found it so odd that Urban had no hobbies and no idea what to do for fun. She was 13 after all. She should have some kind of interests. So he took Urban hunting. Sometimes they didn’t really see anything worthwhile but when that happened, they resorted to using magpies for target practice. After all, no one liked magpies. Urban was always so happy when she got to go out shooting with her uncle. Feeling the gun in her hand brought her a kind of joy that she couldn’t explain. But then her parents found out about what they were doing when they went out. Needless to say, they didn’t approve. There was shouting match after shouting match and everything ended with them banning Michael from ever visiting or contacting Urban again. They ripped them apart just when Urban was starting to get happier. Things only got worse for her after that. More fighting, more abuse. Then, when Urban was 14, her uncle came to get her. “I promised you a year ago I’d take care of you. I’m making good on my promise.” And then they left, Michael moving them both to South Africa. He still left often to deal with lawyers about his taking Urban from her parents. The court did see his side of things, surprisingly. Her parents, however, were still constantly trying to get her back to create their perfect trophy family façade again. Urban never went back, though. She spent two years living with her uncle, going to school and finally making her own friends. They kept up their hunting, now moving to big game. They always killed only the animals that were permitted and they never wasted the meat. They enjoyed the sport of tracking and killing the animals but had enough respect to not let their deaths go to waste. Then, when she was 16, a new court order arrived. Urban was to return to Australia to her parents. She instantly pulled back into her shell, becoming almost robotic, accepting the fact that her life would be hell again. Michael saw this and made his own plan. Michael went back to Australia, to his brother. He wasn’t really interested in talking to them anymore. He saw what they were doing to his niece even after years of not seeing her. “Adam, I will ask you once, and only once. Drop the court order.” “No. Michael, she’s my daughter so she’s my property. You stole her from me so I’m taking her back.” That’s how Adam ended up gagged, tied to a chair. His wife was lying dead on the floor, her brain matter covering the wall behind her corpse. Michael stood, wiping the blood from his face, staring at his brother. “I told you I would only ask you once. You brought this on yourself.” He punched Adam once, knocking him out cold. He placed the gun in his brother’s limp hand, maneuvering it and placing it in his brother’s mouth. Then, he pulled the trigger. The bullet erupted through the back of his skull and hit the metal clock behind him, creating sparks which floated down to the carpet below them. It didn’t take long for the carpet to start smoking and eventually catch on fire. Michael returned to South Africa that same night; returned to Urban. “They won’t bother you ever again.” And Urban never questioned it. She got the news the next morning, knowing what her uncle did for her. She was grateful. The detectives believed it was a murder suicide with an unfortunate end, just as her uncle had planned. It didn’t take long for her uncle to adopt her. He was, after all, more like a father to her than anyone else in her life. And so life went on. She finished high school and started attending university. She ended up dropping out. Officially it’s because she wanted to travel. In reality it was because her adoptive father’s girlfriend, Anna Hillside, really got on her nerves. She travelled all over the world, her uncle being more than happy to fund the adventure. She did return to South Africa for a short time to attend the wedding and attempt to bond with her new step mother, but it didn’t work out. Soon, she was on the road again. This time, she wouldn’t return for many years.

    Salvation

-- Urban Madine sighed again, sitting idly in the courthouse back home in Australia. She's had to be there almost every day for the last two weeks, only heading home to Los Santos over weekends when she was outright told that nothing would be happening with the case. She didn't want to be there, not really. She missed the excitement of the city and the rush that comes with her line of work, especially so when she talks her way out of impossible situations. She missed her family. But circumstances forced her to be there. She took her phone, deciding to scroll through LifeInvader. She smiled slightly when she saw that Reina Morraine had accepted her friend request, knowing it was a small step closer to getting to know the woman and possibly making her an ally. She typed out a short post on Reina's seemingly inactive profile, asking when they'll be doing the MD ride along that Urban has been waiting for. After finding nothing else worth her attention on the social media app, she switched to scrolling through the government website, taking a glance at the SADOC's Discharges and Suspensions page. Her face immediately lit up, seeing two names on the discharge list: Louise Hoffman and Wes McLoughlin. Instantly plans started forming in her mind. Louise was a longtime friend of Urban's. They were best friends when they both worked at the DOC and were constantly competing with each other for promotions and praise. If she left the DOC then it would give Urban an opportunity to recruit the woman. She was a good person and would be able to assist the family, her experience being a good asset. Urban would extend the offer to her and, if she declined and decided to join PD or SD, then she would soon see how restrictive it is and possibly come back to accept the offer. that's what Urban was hoping, at least. Then came the matter of Wes McLoughlin. He was one of the few people in the city that Urban truly hated. She despised how he treated inmates, acting like they were below him and subhuman while he acted like a cruel god. An inmate could be in the kitchen with permission and Wes would go beat the inmate since he didn't like them being in there. He would pull out his guns whenever he got the chance and would shoot without thinking of the inmate's life. He had no control and was a bigger monster than most criminals. Wes was the reason why Urban got fired and why she jumped at the chance to join Salvation. He's the one that turned her life upside down and ripped away from the thing she cared about most in the city, forcing her to cut ties with people she considered family. Wes McLoughlin had to die. Urban has been plotting his assassination since she was forced from her home thanks to him. If she was being honest with herself, possibly even before that. He was always a difficult target though, due to his position as Assistant Warden at the DOC. But now he has no safety net. No more hiding behind the gates at the DOC, no more kevlar, no more pulling heavies out on anyone he thought was a threat. Sure he had .50s, but they meant nothing when people could come at him with shotguns, AK's, and micros. He was vulnerable. Urban smiled to herself, making a mental list of all the people she could recruit to hunt him down. She smiled when she thought of the look he would have on his face when he sees her pointing a gun at his head. She smiled when she thought about how he would have to accept that he had lost and she had won. She smiled, thinking of the satisfaction she would feel when she watches the light fade from his eyes as she kills him. She smiled, knowing she could kill him now. And she was more than ready for it.
