Everyone please stop finger pointing from all sides and keep this discussion productive. If the target to the problems you face is the RP of LEO then here's a reminder that you can reach out to Legal Faction Management with suggestions and criticisms (check the staff roster for who is LFM). Someone mentioned lack of staff commenting here, keep in mind at the end of the day we don't really dictate script changes (which a LOT of these are) and that lies mostly with the developers. But still, I imagine several staff are following this thread to read people's thoughts to see what we can do to improve areas people talk about. I personally don't have an awful lot to contribute to the topic at hand being a civ roleplayer primarily (as opposed to criminal or LEO) but that doesn't mean I can't respect the criticisms and difficulties that come with criminal roleplay so let's keep discussion on track and productive!

"You cannot mitigate this as someone else is already doing it" Would be a neat simple QoL change. __ A beefier upgrade would be if you do >50% of the time alongside someone who has already started it you get 50% of the pay as well. (Up to max of 1 helper to avoid everyone stacking) "You helped your co-worker mitigate the site, you earned $xxx"

Trucking, more specifically rented trucks
Ash replied to SpinalShank's topic in Civilian Suggestions
Few benefits of owning one rather than renting: You can max your own truck. You can just park your own truck In a personal parking area instead of needing to return it. You can do what you want with it as it's not a scripted job vehicle. -
The 'realistic' gun noises are gross -1 personally

Just to build on it, maybe don't limit it to pd. Have them go between various sites: PD, SD, MD, DOC, DCC, Weazel, other vehicle related freelance jobs, maintaining government owned vehicles.

Feel free to go comment your thoughts on the other threads though, this was just my opinion Archived

But it's extremely low risk and low reward already? You get one very minor charge if you get caught doing it correctly, the fines which can be made up in like 1 or 2 atm's. So you literally just don't need to get caught for like 3 ATM's and you're running profit until the next time you're caught. It's a petty crime and I think we shouldn't make everything a big money big risk crime. Normally I don't have much say in criminal stuff but ATM's are one of the scripted criminal things I've done a fair few of and if you don't incriminate yourself beyond them catching you smashing the ATM it's super low risk for a bit of extra money. Especially when theres a fair few atm's that are basically "free" due to the location.

There might be a technical reason why not but...it's weird that /vr 1 needs to be a command at all. For a while now if you /vr 1 when you don't need to, it changes nothing (it used to mute you) so I'm not sure why the server doesn't just auto-vr characters every now and then when they do an action

Burger shot is the place this is needed the most. A simple world interaction "press e to sit" would be so good. Also allow eating and drinking whilst seated

This is down to the people who run the Weazel faction, you should suggest this to them in-character to change this policy. Locked & Archived

It would be neat to be able to set expiry time In hours against an fdo. E.g. /fdo 2 [text] Would put up an fdo for 2 hours that auto disappears. With 0 or no first parameter for default. Maybe one of them countdown timers below it not unlike when you drop an item on the floor.

Me and @jason have been petitioning for ice cream for a year. +1 for more varieties of food even if it's just clones of existing store food but reskinned and renamed.

I don't think ATMs should be counted with the rest of the things you mentioned. ATMs are the definition of low risk low reward and are pretty balanced. If you stash your money between them you can get away with just getting hit with a vandalism misdemeanour (15mins & $1000 fine) and make the money back pretty much instantly. My limited criminal experience has been petty crime and ATM's are very balanced in that regard. I also want to emphasize that we are not the ones who make development changes to the game. In fact, the criminal group chat (that I can't even see) has much more influence over that sort of stuff than I do, and quite rightly so. But at the same time some people enjoy civilian RP and that's also fine, especially considering there was a time when you couldn't enter a store without getting robbed or if you wore one of the 7 claimed colours you'd be stripped naked and robbed. Having criticisms is perfectly fine and healthy for the server, finger pointing the blame is not.

The player..WHAT. But I think this suggestion overall is more of a pitfall of rp standards. If someone is still running after day 2 or 3 tazes then they're just poorly roleplaying the situation. A 10 second stun is very strong and usually more than enough to do rp of attempt grabbing them whilst tazed since that's pretty much the irl procedure when you taze someone. If they continue running, or worse, ignore RP you try and do whilst they're tazed then that's a solid report for nonrp.

And to follow on with what Bala said, promising something and then not delivering will also be bad. An example is the banking system that was teased aaaages ago. If we had a roadmap that might have been on it, and for one reason or another it appears to have been dropped from development. Could have been a variety of different reasons. But with a roadmap we'd have been left more disappointed. Right now through teases and Devs talking in #general we know there's a drug update, a gun update, a house robbery update, and a clothing/customization update on its way and I think that's all we really need in terms of foreknowledge to avoid disappointment. Edit: I still think a roadmap would be good overall. But knowing what the community can be like, and the time it takes to have changes and updates, I feel it'll just annoy people en masse the second it's deviated from.

I could be wrong but I believe new players get reduced taxi fares, free city bees (regardless of taxi's being available), and like $12k to start with. I believe they have enough in terms of transport and it wouldn't be hard to make a few extra k to get a basic vehicle. I've hitched rides on bus routes a few times, it's doable a lot of the time if you try it. It would be neat to have more script support for that though maybe. Overall, I don't see this as much of an issue that needs addressing.

The 'freetext' is kind of enforced when it's seen and people are reminded pretty frequently in reports that it's a mis-use of the system to alias people "i want to kill him" or "bitch cop 4786" etc. Badge numbers I also don't feel should be aliased, nobody would remember a random cop's badge number even if they're picked up by them a few times. That being said, a long time ago I believe rank, surname and badge number was displayed above aliases. I'd personally like to see a return of this feature for on duty LEO's that they can toggle on when doing normal duties as I believe IRL LAPD have their metal badges on display with their rank and badge number, and a small fabric one with their initial and surname "S. Papadakis" for example. If this was re-implemented it would be better to have it rather short-range, say /low voice range. Or, y'know, people can just do actual roleplay and be like /me looks at the officers uniform for a badge or nametag /do would I see one visible? Wild suggestion, I know.

Supers are trash and people who own them make owning a super their main personality trait most of the time, boring. As for other vehicles: Had the luxury of using a go kart to rp a mobility scooter yesterday with disability RP As fun as it was, I'd much rather see the vehicles added with a purpose as opposed to just as a regular vehicle. It isn't a mobility scooter at the end of the day and the experience was everyone treated it like a go kart cos it was one. The justification of "i could rp it as something else" just isn't really satisfying. I'm speculating based on nothing but I'd assume they weren't added cos they're not really road legal vehicles and don't really fit in with other cars. Few on the spot suggestions from browsing vehicles we don't have. The main point is to have them in the server with a purpose (e.g. tractors are in the server under farmer job): Golf cart - Rentable like city bee at the golf course, despawns if you leave the threshold of the course. Go kart - Buyable like a normal car but RPly not road legal through ic laws. Lawnmower - Usable at a few certain spots as a freelance job only. You drive between set grassy points in the map in some sort of van and when you're there a lawnmower spawns on the grass as if you unloaded it from the van. Bulldozer/digger/Mixer/Tipper/Forklift - Easy construction worker freelance job clearing rubble (not unlike the rp that was done at the power plant recently). A more building-focused version of road worker. Camper - How is this not added as a more expensive RV Rusty tractor - Gte rid of the crappy paleto farm nobody except lost new players use, put one in grapeseed using the rusty tractor or just make the one you spawn an optional choice between the 2. Airtug/Civillian caddy - citybee style rent at LSIA since cars cant go on there, way to get from LSIA entrance to the plane/heli parking. Despawns outside of LSIA Tour bus/Shuttle bus/Dashound/Bus - Bus jobs could assign a random one of these. Or more realistically different routes use different vehicles so the vehicle speed can be balanced with route length That's just some ideas off the top of my head from randomly browsing vehicles. The reason golf carts and lawnmowers work for DOC and SASG is because they're monitored OOCly with faction policies and roleplay standards for the most part. Taking a caddy outside of DOC was something hard set when we got them so theyre purely used for interior patrols. Having caddys and lawnmowers driving on the roads fucking around will just be..silly barring maybe the odd funny scenario. Having a purpose would give people chances to use them within the right circumstances. The suggested vehicle usages around freelance jobs would fall under our same rules for tractors, you don't see people driving tractors in the city because they'll be hit with the NonRP for using work vehicle for being an idiot.

Nve to make the game look good is allowed. Nve to go clapper mode is not allowed. The rules are very clear on this and even give examples I don't know how you would be under that impression at all. "removing graphical aspects of the game which you otherwise can't remove through the game settings, which allows you to e.g. see players better. You can't for example remove vegetation/other objects outside of what the in-game settings allow, or remove shadows completely. In other terms, we do not allow PVP graphic settings, it is an RP server. GTA 5 has a vast selection of graphic settings for players to optimize their game to ensure a smooth gameplay experience. Visual Enhancement Mods such as QuantV and NVE are not disallowed if you want to increase your graphics beyond what the game allows, as this does not provide any unfair advantages. "

The rules literally say modifying your game for an advantage like this is against the rules. If it does something the normal GTA settings can't do that is. For example removing all shadows, making the game fullbright.

I want to support this with my own experience, people see me like this: But I always see myself like this: When I /resync in front of people they see the correct, newer, bottom one. The first picture was my head shape before plastic surgery (like 2 years ago now) so people see some of the old features. Notable issues in the same area, when I go to do plastic surgery, when I edit some sliders (namely skin color and head shape), then change it back to the exact value, the the character looks majorly different.

There used to be one but the bottleneck is that staff aren't the developers so the scope of the team was limited to categorising similar suggestions. There's several suggestions per day, the ones staff can look at and can address, they do (such as rule and forum suggestions). Suggestions are just that, suggestions. For the developers to look at and be like "huh that's a neat idea". It's no secret that developer focus is on the criminal update and the clothing/customization update so naturally other suggestions might not see much development on whilst that's happening. It's easy to list a bunch of wishlist items for script support or development but there will always be the technical implementation that bottlenecks it. There's several avenues for staff assistance on a variety of topics but that's not really relevant to suggestions imo.
