  1. Hello, thank you for your suggestion. We are not going to be adding this option because unfortunately, people will end up using this to gain an unfair advantage or just maliciously in general. Instead, if a Detective wants to do this kind of RP, they can always coordinate with a staff member who can make sure that information given is not used maliciously and to anyone's unfair advantage, and purely for Detective RP. - Osborn.

  4. Thank you for your suggestion. I believe that this can be closed now, we have commands to carry bodies and take them to MD for treatment. A side from that, MD's activity has been at an all time high for the past year, it's a very active and stable faction in its current state - its leaders and members (current and previous) have worked hard to take the faction to where it is today.
  5. Hello, thank you for your suggestion. Most if not all of these cars were added recently to dealerships. If they weren't added, it's because they've been tested and deemed as unfit for our environment! - Osborn.

    Nerf Cops

Thank you for your suggestion, however, we are not looking at reducing the effectiveness/power of our law enforcement factions at this point in time, as we feel that they are good as they are. I think a lot of people need to realize that we're role-playing being a part of a developed country, not a developing one - the government will fund their law enforcement with sufficient funding to tackle issues that we are having In Character. There are still crime happening daily on Eclipse, and people getting away very often - just as it is in real life. - Osborn.
  7. Hello, thank you for your suggestion. This is something that should be suggested to the Los Santos Police Department through In Character means, as no OOC suggestion is going to initiate the creation of an In Character division. You can utilize the Government forums to get in contact with leaders of government factions (with the exception of DCC, mechanic shops and Weazel News). - Osborn.
  8. Thank you for your suggestion. Addition of new faction vehicles is handled In Character with your faction leadership and the Government (Commissioners). - Osborn.

    THE TAZERS

Hello, thank you for your suggestion. As pointed out by users in this thread, the tazers are realistic and we have no intentions on changing how they work. If anything, we need to work towards a more immersive response to tazers, at the moment you get tazed and the effect wears off after ~10 seconds, allowing you to get up and run again, regardless how many times you've been tazed or potential injuries you've sustained from the incident. Once again, thank you for your suggestion. - Osborn.
  11. Hello, are you guys saying you want to be able to avoid taxes with a contract easier?
  12. The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department was established in July 2019 in response to a growing demand for a second law enforcement faction. It was founded by John Norman and Samuel Osborn, along with a hand-picked team that included John Wallace (Flow), Harry Payne (Redhot), Robert Reynolds (Serthon), James Jurrick (Lewis), and others. Together, they laid the foundation for what the Sheriff's Department is today. While the faction initially focused on basic police services roleplay, it has steadily evolved over time. The structure has been reshaped to support more diverse and engaging roleplay opportunities. In April 2020, the Detention and Parole Bureau was introduced to provide unique experiences for deputies, civilians, and criminal characters. Most recently, in January 2022, the Sheriff's Investigations Bureau was launched, bringing detective-based roleplay into the faction.. Although the LSSD takes primary inspiration from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, we have drawn ideas from a wide range of law enforcement agencies across the United States. Today, most of our changes are shaped by the server’s in-character environment. As a faction, the LSSD strives to maintain realism while ensuring the experience remains fun. This balance has led to strong camaraderie among members, creating a welcoming environment for newcomers. While deputies may be yelled at in character by supervisors from time to time, it's often something we laugh about together while talking in Discord or on TeamSpeak. We all understand we're playing a role, and we help new members embrace that mindset. This thread is here to introduce you to our faction, its leadership, and the services we provide. We also encourage you to visit the Government Website, explore our News Release section, and check out the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department group on LifeInvader, where we share much of our roleplay through press releases, newsletters, and more. From an early age, he was introduced to the principles of law enforcement, as both of his parents served in the field. With more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement, Sheriff Kirk has consistently encouraged those under his leadership to uphold a culture of integrity and community trust. He believes that meaningful change begins within the department. Before transferring to the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department, he spent 20 years with the Las Venturas Metropolitan Police Department, where he served in a variety of roles including training officer, academy instructor, supervisor, and eventually reached the rank of Assistant Sheriff. A strong advocate for education, Sheriff Kirk earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Greenglass College in Las Venturas. He went on to receive both his Master's Degree and Doctorate in Public Administration from San Fierro University. He draws on these academic and professional experiences to motivate both new and seasoned members of the department to grow in their careers and further their education. As the fourth Sheriff of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department, he has led major structural reforms, particularly in the Detention and Parole Bureau. Most recently, he oversaw the implementation of the Sheriff's Investigations Bureau. Under his leadership, the department reached a record-high number of employees in 2022. TITLE INSIGNIA Deputy Sheriff Trainee Deputy Sheriff I Deputy Sheriff II Deputy Sheriff III Master Deputy / Investigator Corporal Sergeant Staff Sergeant Lieutenant Captain Commander Assistant Sheriff Undersheriff Sheriff PATROL OPERATIONS North & South Patrol Area North and South Patrol are the two designated patrol areas within the county that the Sheriff's Department operates. These areas are staffed by general field personnel, supervisors, and Command Staff who serve as the frontline of our department, delivering essential services to the public. While the patrol areas are not strictly divided, they play an important organizational role within the department’s structure. Each member of the field staff is assigned to one of the patrol areas, where dedicated supervisors and command staff are responsible for overseeing their performance, offering guidance, and supporting their development as Deputy Sheriffs. Traffic Services Detail The Traffic Services Detail (TSD) is tasked with investigating traffic collisions and enforcing traffic-related laws within the jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Department. This division plays a vital role in promoting road safety and ensuring that traffic regulations are consistently upheld across the areas under departmental oversight. Deputies assigned to the Traffic Services Detail receive specialized training and are equipped with a wide range of tools, vehicles, and enforcement technologies. These include speed detection devices, accident reconstruction tools, and marked or unmarked patrol vehicles suited for highway and rural operations. On a daily basis, these deputies conduct traffic stops, respond to collisions, assist in DUI enforcement, and take proactive measures to reduce hazardous driving behavior. Their presence on the roads directly supports the department’s mission to safeguard the motoring public and promote responsible driving within the community. K9 Division The Sheriff's Department’s Canine Division is a highly valued asset within the LSSD, supporting a wide range of operations. Each canine team is composed of an on-duty canine deputy sheriff and their assigned department service dog. These teams are responsible for conducting building searches for hidden suspects, locating missing persons, tracking fleeing individuals, performing article searches, detecting narcotics or explosives, and participating in public service demonstrations. Thanks to their exceptional senses of smell, hearing, and agility, trained law enforcement canines serve as a critical tool in enhancing public safety and supporting officers in the field. Because of the demanding selection process, intensive training requirements, and the unique bond needed between handler and canine, only a select number of deputies qualify to serve in this specialized division. COUNTYWIDE OPERATIONS Special Enforcement Detail The Special Enforcement Detail (SED) is the department's specialized tactical response unit, responsible for handling high-risk operations that exceed the capabilities of standard deputies. These scenarios often include armed and barricaded suspects, hostage situations, high-risk warrant service, or any event requiring advanced tactics and specialized equipment. Deputies assigned to SED undergo a rigorous selection process and receive advanced training in weapons handling, breaching techniques, tactical movement, and crisis intervention. The unit maintains a high level of readiness and professionalism, operating with precision in the most dangerous and complex situations. SED functions similarly to the Los Santos Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and the Critical Emergency Response Team of the Department of Corrections. Their presence ensures that the Sheriff's Department is prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to critical incidents across its jurisdiction. Air Support Division The Air Support Division is responsible for managing the Sheriff's Department’s aerial operations. Its primary role is to provide aerial overwatch and support to deputies during active incidents, offering real-time intelligence and enhancing situational awareness on the ground. In addition to tactical support, the division may be tasked with a variety of specialized missions, including search and rescue operations, medical evacuations, and surveillance assignments. The flexibility and rapid response capability of the Air Support Division make it a vital asset in both emergency and day-to-day operations, significantly increasing the department’s reach and effectiveness across its jurisdiction. ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS Recruitment and Employment Division The Recruitment and Employment Division oversees the department’s hiring and onboarding process. It is responsible for managing all phases of recruitment, from public outreach and applicant screening to interviews and final selection. In addition to identifying qualified candidates, the division plays a key role in preparing new hires for success by coordinating their initial training and ensuring they meet the department’s professional standards. This division serves as the gateway into the Sheriff's Department, shaping the next generation of deputies and support staff. Advanced Training Division The Advanced Training Division is responsible for providing continued education and specialized instruction to Deputy Sheriffs seeking to qualify for advanced equipment or procedures within the department. This includes certifications such as firearms qualification, motorcycle operations, and other specialized skills. In addition to specialized training, the division also ensures that all personnel maintain a high level of competency through ongoing instruction in core areas like pursuit driving, use of force, and tactical response. By upholding departmental standards and promoting skill development, the Advanced Training Division plays a crucial role in maintaining the professionalism and readiness of the Sheriff's Department. Field Training Division The Field Training Division is responsible for training and evaluating new employees who have successfully graduated from the Sheriff's Academy Program. These new deputies enter the Field Training Program, where they are paired with experienced Field Training Deputies who guide them through the practical application of departmental procedures and protocols. Throughout the program, trainees are closely monitored and assessed on their performance, decision-making, and adherence to standards. The division ensures that each new deputy is fully prepared to operate independently and effectively in the field, upholding the values and expectations of the Sheriff's Department. Supervisor Training Division The Supervisor Training Program is available to all Corporals and Investigators who are seeking to advance into supervisory roles. Overseen by Command and Executive Staff, the program is designed to develop leadership skills and evaluate each candidate’s readiness for increased responsibility. Over the course of four weeks, participants undergo a series of guided and evaluative patrol sessions where they are trained and tested on core supervisory competencies, including decision-making, team leadership, and policy enforcement. The program ensures that only qualified and well-prepared individuals move forward into leadership positions within the department. SHERIFF'S INVESTIGATIONS BUREAU Major Crimes Division The Major Crimes Division (MCD) serves as the entry point for standard-level members of the Sheriff's Investigations Bureau. It is designed to handle complex investigations that extend beyond the capabilities or scope of regular patrol deputies. MCD is structured into three semi-independent units: Robbery & Homicide, Vice, and Crime Scene Investigations (CSI). The Robbery & Homicide Unit focuses on serious offenses such as murder, armed robbery, and criminal threats. The Vice Unit investigates crimes involving weapons trafficking, sex crimes, illegal gambling, and financial fraud. Meanwhile, the CSI Unit is tasked with conducting forensic investigations following major incidents and processing civilian complaints that may develop into formal case files. This division typically acts as the foundation for investigators beginning their careers within the bureau, offering them exposure to a broad range of investigative work before they move into more specialized roles. Gangs and Narcotics Division The Gangs and Narcotics Division (GND) is responsible for overseeing and investigating organized criminal activity within the state of San Andreas. Its primary objective is to suppress and deter future crime through proactive enforcement strategies and targeted street-level interventions. This includes addressing activities such as drug manufacturing, weapons trafficking, smuggling, and coordinated robberies. GND is comprised of two key components. The first is the Investigator Unit, staffed by Sheriff's Investigators who conduct long-term investigations and surveillance on identified criminal organizations. The second is the Gang Enforcement Team (GET), made up of specialized Gang Deputies who provide tactical support and field-level intelligence to assist Investigators in active operations. Together, these units work in close coordination to ensure the division’s operational effectiveness and to disrupt the influence of organized crime across the region. OFFICE OF THE SHERIFF Internal Affairs Division The Internal Affairs Division serves as the investigative arm of the Sheriff's Department in matters involving employee misconduct. Its primary responsibility is to review complaints submitted by other department members or civilians and to conduct thorough investigations into whether any departmental policies, procedures, or protocols have been violated. By holding personnel accountable and ensuring transparency, the division plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the department. Sheriff's Information Division The Sheriff's Information Division is an integral part of the Office of the Sheriff. Aligned with the department’s core value of service to the community, the division is dedicated to informing and educating the public on important safety initiatives and community programs that aim to enhance quality of life. In addition to public outreach, the division is also responsible for managing the release of official information, including press statements, event updates, and departmental news from the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department. Through clear and timely communication, the division helps foster transparency and strengthen public trust. I was denied, can I apply again? Yes, next Recruitment Drive unless otherwise specified in your denial message. I failed one of the stages, can I apply again? Yes, next Recruitment Drive unless otherwise specified in your denial message. I have recently been removed from a faction because of poor OOC conduct or other OOC reasons, can I still apply? You will most likely not be allowed to partake in the Sheriff's Recruitment Process unless you have shown that you are in good standing with the community and other factions for a consistent time period. I am from a different region than the one that you are looking for members in, can I still apply? In most cases, no. Can I appeal my denial or any of the stages that I failed? In most cases, no. RED Command works extensively to review applications and the work of application handlers. Most denials are discussed among several members. You could try to contact the Bureau Commander for Administrative Operations (or work your way up through the chain) but in most if not all scenarios, the answer will be the same. Is it easy to progress or gain higher ranks in this faction? No. Like the LSPD, the LSSD believes in good and proper character development as well as a somewhat realistic portrayal of a Law Enforcement agency. Higher-up positions like supervisor and above are also limited and have added responsibilities for both IC and OOC, and we need to make sure that no one gains the power too fast and that they earn their position in the faction by experience and knowledge. In turn, this results in better obedience in terms of upholding our regulations & standards, which results in better relations with the Eclipse Community. Members that perform good and don't get disciplined either IC or OOC can expect a promotion every 1-3 months, however, certain members may hit a wall when they reach the final rank of whichever group they're apart of (e.g. Field Staff, Supervisory Staff and Command Staff). The higher you climb in the faction, the more responsibilities you will have whether that's out of the game or in the game. We do not "force" paperwork (forum work) on anyone, people choose if they want to progress or not themselves when we offer it to them. Will I be able to get a heavy weapon quickly in the faction? No. Deputy Sheriff I is the lowest rank that can apply for a certification that will allow you to use a shotgun on duty under strict regulations. Progression takes time in the Sheriff's Department and that includes access to new equipment and vehicles. 1. Government Website 2. LSSD News Room 3. LSSD Ride-Along Program 4. Hey. We are not looking to add any more Law Enforcement factions in the near future (or ever). Our next plan with legal government factions is to establish a judicial branch in the Government. You are more than welcome to apply for the Sheriff's or Police Department when they're hiring, if you are interested in direct law enforcement. You can also apply for Department of Corrections if law enforcement within the prison interests you. Thanks for your suggestion, - Osborn.
  16. No one has deleted anything :))))) Maybe you forgot to press
  17. disband SD EDIT: You can only see 3 applications because that's what you can see. We have in fact 13 people right now pending academy, 1 pending physical examination and 7 pending interview.
  18. Hello, thank you for your suggestion. We have no interest in creating some form of a rehab program, the DM punishments are severe because we see it as a severe server rule and it's what we as community managers see what's best for our community. It's not hard to not follow rules guys! Also good to note, while it technically says "permanent ban", it's more of an "indefinite ban" in most cases. It's permanent until appealed, where it then can either turn into a temporary ban, indefinite or just remain permanent. Unfortunately, our punishments are not a topic for discussion - Staff discusses internally if we feel that we need to change our punishment severity.

I do not support the idea, no heavy RP servers I've played on across SA-MP and GTA 5 has supported this. On Eclipse, we're trying to sway away from action RP and have people focus on more social and passive RP. Given the response that we've had to new features like the mining job and farming job, where people that do these jobs get constantly robbed, I don't see how this would be any different. Cops are not meant to be targets for robberies, and this would cause exactly that. Let's push for more passive/social RP and criminal features other than this
  21. It's very sad when someone you've known for years pass away. We did not see eye to eye all the time on Eclipse, but from SA-MP, we shared many great memories together. In memory of Daniel, I've gone ahead and pinned this. Hopefully, his videos and screenshots will live on as a memory.
  22. Archived. New leadership ERA begins :)
  23. I like the idea of expungement of non-violent crimes to a certain extent, but as Steel mentioned, IRL it's not an easy process - you just don't walk into your city hall building and change your name. There's a court process, you'll most likely have to go through some parole & rehabilitation process and complete that properly, then court hearings where a judge determines if you qualify for it or not. But to do all this, we need a court system - which we don't have right now. https://www.shouselaw.com/expunge-criminal-records.html
  24. (( Really unique and good role-play. I've gone ahead and pinned this for attention. Great job. ))
