  1. Hello, thank you for your suggestion. We are not going to be rolling back the update. Our developers & founders will improve the system as time goes, but essentially, this new UI is here to remain. We hope that by now, that you've gotten used to it! - Osborn.
  2. Hello, this sure was an old suggestion revived. I believe I've said this in previous suggestions, so I'll keep it short. We're not interested in introducing a cap again, instead, we've purposely kept jail/prison times for individual crimes low to let players decide themselves what they want to do and how they want the outcome to look like. "our driver *redacted* decided to evade cause he didn't want to get reckless operation, we got chased by PD and got caught," was in a recent Internal Affairs Report. This is just an example to show that something that could've turned into a few minutes sentence, ended up being hours, because of somebody's actions. And this is a common occurrence despite us not having a cap. So introducing a cap will not do us any good, we want there to be consequences for your IC actions. If you feel that there's a lack of RP or scripted features in prison to make your stay more enjoyable, please focus on suggesting scripted features and/or rules to make your stay more enjoyable. - Osborn.
  3. Hello, thank you for your suggestion. We have no interest in allowing jail/prison time to be done offline, as that ruins the purpose of jail/prison. Arguing that it's a game is a bit old age at this point, we're fully aware that this is a game. Point being, this is a RP game mode within GTA 5, and RP game modes can be different in terms of what immersion it seeks in different areas. Our jail/prison times overall for individual crimes are not that high, and we've kept it this way to let players decide themselves how they want the outcome of their actions to look like - to enforce somewhat realistic consequences to your actions (although chances are that, if you murder someone IRL, depending on where you live, you won't see daylight for a very long time). Instead of suggesting to be able to do jail/(prison times offline, try to focus suggesting things that would make your stay in prison more enjoyable (things that don't involve much action RP, please), e.g. prison jobs whatnot. If it gets enough attention, it will most likely be reviewed quicker to see if it fits our vision of how we want our environment to be like. - Osborn.
  4. 07/JUN/2020 Changed under 15. Player Theft, Prison Breakout, and Kidnapping OLD: Robberies are to be conducted in a realistic manner and require the robber to have a reasonable in character motive. High risk, but little reward robberies are deemed unrealistic and should not be performed. Robberies should be performed in secluded areas where there is a low chance to be seen by witnesses. Desert and forest areas could be considered secluded but potential witnesses should be taken into account. NEW: Robberies are to be conducted in a realistic manner and require the robber to have a reasonable in character motive. High risk, but little reward robberies are deemed unrealistic and should not be performed. Robberies should be performed in secluded areas where there is a low chance to be seen by witnesses. Desert and forest areas could be considered secluded but potential witnesses should be taken into account. Desert and forest areas could be considered secluded but potential witnesses should be taken into account. CLARIFICATION: Desert and forest areas could be considered secluded for player robberies to take place, e.g. Gas Stations on route 68, woods outside of Paleto Bay etc. Does not apply to job areas, and other factors should be taken into account with potential witnesses, reward vs risk factor, and motivation. Clarification around Player Robberies If there is a strong personal reason against the victim the risk/reward & location factor can be eased. Strong personal reason being e.g. someone has done something to wrong you severely and you want to retaliate. This does not mean that you should not take location into account, we want to see robberies be as realistic as possible, but we also understand that e.g. gang rivalry should allow you to be more reckless, but not to a point where you hold someone up in the middle of the road by Legion Square with 10 cars. Further clarification might be made at a later date. Changed under 11. No Crime Zones. OLD: • All government offices, law enforcement offices, hospitals, banks, and the blocks around them. NEW: • All government offices, law enforcement offices, hospitals, LS & Paleto Main Bank, and the blocks around them. CLARIFICATION: Fleeca Banks are not considered No Crime Zones.
  5. 17/MAY/2020 Changed under 1. Account Ownership and Responsibility OLD: Account ownership is non-transferable and is the property of the creator. NEW: Account ownership is non-transferable and is the property of the creator, and accounts can not be shared. CLARIFICATION: Re-wording. Sharing accounts is not allowed.
  6. Hey man, great idea. You should remove any IC information like "Apply here" from this thread and post an IC thread over here https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/forum/22-businesses/ You look at other faction threads and get a general idea of how to structure yours. Best of luck with your idea!
  7. Hello. Moved this to "Introduce Yourself". Please remember to write in English on these forums.
  8. cant wait to place a contract on Lewis Langley, but don't MG. Best of luck!
  9. "unless absolutely required for some period. " I guess you must've missed this. The player is more than welcome to post a punishment appeal following the process we have put in place and we will determine whether he in fact violated the rule (if he disagrees with that part), or whether the punishment in question wasn't necessary, as we always do. Edit: With that being said, I will go ahead and lock this topic as it has now been two weeks since the rule was implemented and the staff team will continue to review the rule and the response to it for the next few weeks during our staff meetings.
  10. @Lewis why aren't you a smart officer?
  11. +1 The reason why my bar never happened is because I tried removing a counter that was placed wrong, then I ended up removing something irrelevant that took ages to place, and then I spammed /removefurniture as I ran around in rage. I sold the property and never looked back.
  12. Nicee, Congratulations on Chief of Police
  13. (Might re-open tomorrow but clearly this is turning into an attack on a faction. This new system has not been put to practice yet and is still open for changes if we see that changes are necessary)
  14. hi this is fixed now. sorry for the inconvenience.
  15. Hey man. We're definitely aware that this will need some time to adapt and understand, staff will definitely not issue permanent bans around this particular change unless absolutely required for some period. We are here to educate, and we don't always issue punishments - nowadays, we try to teach our staff to handle situations case by case basis. It's very possible for wordings to be changed and clarifications to be made later down the road, but as Aldari said, it was our intention to keep this vague to allow for player imagination, rather than creating another set of rules that players will ruleplay around. We understand that this is how robberies have previously been done on Eclipse since its birth. But we believe that our official, unofficial factions, and active community members will adapt to this and be guided in the right direction, so that they later can be ambassadors for newer players who might need guidance and direction.
  16. It's not a normal house fire though. People responding to an explosion 911 can RP finding traces of a drug lab. It's not like every trace of it disappears, a drug lab exploding IRL won't just be waved off as a normal fire. If you store drugs in the same house/property that you cook them in, you risk losing them. It creates probable cause to search the property once it's been determined that the cause of the explosion was a drug lab. I'll ask NBDY if he can leave some objects behind to make the immersion more realistic, when it blows up.
  17. 27/APR/2020 Added under 14. Deathmatch (DM) Vehicles cannot be used as a weapon in an active shootout unless it's unavoidable when fleeing an active shootout. CLARIFICATION: This was added after deliberation among staff and reading community input from the forums, it's clear that players in cars are more invincible than they realistically would be, thus making vehicles a stronger weapon than actual guns in most scenarios. You will no longer be able to use your vehicle as a weapon against other players if it's in an active shootout. Adhering to the Fear RP rule, you can only enter that shootout if you intend to use your car as cover, or to help a friend escape. If you are fleeing from a shootout with your car, and ramming someone is unavoidable, that's fine. Added under 15. Player Theft, Prison Breakout, and Kidnapping Robberies are to be conducted in a realistic manner and require the robber to have a reasonable in character motive. High risk, but little reward robberies are deemed unrealistic and should not be performed. Robberies should be performed in secluded areas where there is a low chance to be seen by witnesses. Read for clarification:
  18. Addressing the Culprit of Social RP: Player Robberies 27th of April, 2020 Eclipse Roleplay, We have recently deliberated among the staff team after listening to the concerns of many of our members in the community, and we've decided that it's time to address the culprit that prevents so many roleplay opportunities, player robberies. We are very saddened by the fact that players are unable to socialize or interact with each others without the fear of another player robbing them. Most of the time, these robberies happen anywhere, and there has been no consideration of high-risk/low-reward as we often see players having their GPS/Radios stolen of them by players with expensive equipment (cars/weapons). We want all players to be able to interact with strangers, go to their homes without having to circle the block to make sure there are no other players around, fill up their car at the gas station properly without forcing themselves to leave as another player arrives. We don't believe that player robberies should be as common as they currently are, we don't believe that player robberies should be what players consider as the main form of Criminal RP, and at the current state, it's far from the roleplay that we want our players to experience in our community. Moving forward, we're going to disallow robberies from taking place in areas that would realistically be populated or areas with many player witnesses. Areas that are realistically populated could be highways, clothing stores, gas stations etc etera. We want players to perform robberies with more in-depth RP, to make it more fun for all parties involved, and not solely focus on quickly getting the loot and then proceeding to the next robbery. This does not include the scripted store robberies. We also want players to have an IC motivation to perform a robbery, because this is a roleplay server meant to replicate a realistic environment where we've all created characters to act in this environment, so being bored Out of Character should not be your motivation to rob other players. We understand that this is a change that might take time to adapt to, but we hope to be able to guide players in the right direction and make the general RP environment on Eclipse Roleplay much better than before. Hopefully, this will allow players to interact with one another and stop the limitation of RP opportunities out of the fear of being robbed. The following is being added to our server rules under 15. Player Theft, Prison Breakout, and Kidnapping and will be treated as Non Roleplay (promotes poor quality roleplay) in instances where staff determines it's necessary. We hope that moving forward, that players can adapt to this change and to help create a healthier RP environment where opportunities aren't limited. - Eclipse Staff.
  19. Law Enforcement officers are already required to submit search warrants reviewed by their Chief and then one of the 4 Commissioners before they can raid a property (property as in business, house etc). The only other time they can raid a property is if they have probable cause, which is heavily enforced In Character. To be honest with you, I've not come across an Internal Affairs report in a very long time regarding an unlawful property search. I don't think we need OOC server rules around it, there's only a select few that can ram down doors out of all the members that the faction has. Deliberately ignoring the regulations put in place would violate the OOC corruption rules in PD/SD and most likely lead to the removal of said member. In the event of a massive loss due to abuse of power/commands, Senior Staff can always intervene and make sure items or monetary value are properly returned. The 911 call that is submitted is deliberately designed to inform both FD and Law Enforcement of an explosion, which should prompt the response of both departments. It's what we wanted to ensure a % chance of drug making being regulated by Law Enforcement when the new portable system was put into place, as we understood that a larger portion of our playerbase would be cooking drugs and making profit out of it. We wanted a risk factor to it. I understand this is not currently the case (in terms of a larger portion of the playerbase using it), but as I've understood it, faction leaders have been speaking with NBDY to give him ideas on how to improve the system. I don't think it's healthy to limit what type of units can respond to a call, if a tactical unit happened to be nearby I don't see why they couldn't go and check the explosion out. Other than that, I cannot comment on the rest as I'm not too familiar with timers, % chances, or many of the other drug table features.
  20. 27/APR/2020 Clarification around Kidnapping and Player Robberies If a player wants to conduct a robbery on another player, they can move them out of sight e.g. into an alleyway or behind a building as long as it's not to an entire new location. This is not considered kidnapping, however, all other rules applies.
  21. Hello, thank you for your suggestion. We will not be expiring / removing older punishments from player's records, instead, staff handles situations case by case basis. They have a general guideline that they follow when they are issuing punishments but they are instructed and trained to take into consideration the time between punishments and severity of the situation. For example, a DM #2 will not always result in a ban, neither will a Non-RP #6. - Osborn.
  22. Hello, thank you for your suggestion. As others have explained, your issue is more of an In Character issue rather than a rule discussion. There are ways to appeal FLD decisions / complain about firearms licensing officers using In Character ways. I hope that you understand, - Osborn.
  23. Thank you for your suggestion. We made a change to our internal punishment guidelines about 2 weeks ago to separate Combat Logging from our Non RP punishments. While they will be more harsher now, it will not result in a permanent ban on your first or second punishment, unless there is a strong reason for it. - Osborn.
  24. 24/APR/2020 Changed under 8. Non-Roleplay (NRP) OLD: Players may not go to a NCZ within 15 minutes after engaging in criminal activity, unless you are turning yourself into law enforcement. NEW: Players may not go to a NCZ within 15 minutes after engaging in criminal activity or using it as protection from a resulting chase, unless you are turning yourself in to law enforcement. CLARIFICATION: Simple re-wording. Rule remains the same. Clarification around Pets and Player Interactions Staff will treat pets the same that we do with rules around players attacking empty cars. It should make roleplay sense to attack an animal, and players going around randomly attacking animals (pets) will be held under 8. Non-Roleplay as it promotes poor quality roleplay. Owners of pets will need to properly escalate the level of verbal / physical interaction against someone attacking their pet to a level where it makes roleplay sense. We will not tolerate players being KILLED over their pets as pets are invincible and run no risk of being harmed from another player. Clarification around Clothes and Robberies Players may not go around randomly robbing players and taking their clothes. Taking a player's clothes should make roleplay sense. Staff will enforce this under 8. Non-Roleplay as it promotes poor quality roleplay.
