  1. Paulius said that this wasn't a bug when we spoke of it last time. It is based on your radio, so if you have your radio on off-duty set to an encrypted frequency, you can see (hear) department radio. You can hop off a 900 frequency if you don't want to see (hear) the department radio, department radio is intended to work off your actual radio.
  2. 09/JUL/2024 REMOVED Misuse of Expensive Vehicles from Non-RP. ADDED to Non-RP: Using inappropriate vehicles to ram and cause damage to another car. Appropriate vehicles are those with ram bars and heavy vehicles. Head-on rams are not allowed (ramming a vehicle head-on that is traveling towards you). Heavy Vehicles are considered but not limited to: Kamacho, Guardian, Pounder, Insurgent, TARV, other trucks, and vehicles of similar category. Performing a PIT maneuver against a vehicle significantly larger than your own. PIT maneuvers can be performed by anyone, not in a supercar. (A PIT maneuver is a tap on the rear side of a car, not done with the intention of causing damage to the car with yours, that would be considered ramming). CLARIFICATION: We have differentiated between ramming to cause damage and performing a PIT maneuver. Anyone not in a supercar can perform a PIT maneuver with the new Rage MP sync without it being considered a ram, as long as you do it properly and have no intention of damaging the vehicle as you would when you ram. Vehicle size should still be respected. Remember that you always need IC motive to attack someone and that your actions must make RP sense, which cannot be determined in the rules as it is contextual based on your situation alone. Ramming or PIT maneuvering turns your vehicle into a weapon and can have consequences. This is a trial for us and if it ends up reducing RP quality then we will have to revisit. We foresee that allowing more fluidity of RP and fewer OOC restrictions like this can be positive if not overdone like the old days. Overall, this makes the rule of using your vehicles for various things equal across the board. PD/SD leadership has agreed that they do not perform PITs with their HSIUs.
  3. Hey guys I've recently started driving a Greenwood Sheriff's Cruiser, it's amazing.
  4. Hi team, Paulius and Thang have reviewed complaints and the helicam system, and further balancing changes have been made. It is now easier to break a helicam lock-on by going through foliage (e.g., trees, dense areas with buildings) and doesn't require you to solely utilize tunnels. The camera will also break quicker (from 1 second to 600 milliseconds). The system will continue to be evaluated over time to assess its impact, which, so far, hasn't had anything negative. The tunnels have also been tested yet again by staff members and the same sync issue persists. Here's an example, https://streamable.com/mx9xt9, players go invisible randomly. I also want to address this unhinged comment that really upset me: "The crim things added are just updates that don’t give advantage. Just look at development. There's a reason why a lot of ex-crims like yourself have switched to LEO." The development focus for 2023 and much of 2024 has been heavily oriented towards the criminal side of Eclipse Roleplay, unfortunately leaving other areas somewhat neglected due to the limited capacity of our two developers. The term "advantage" is subjective; you represent yourself and your immediate circle, not all criminals. We aim to cater to all types of criminals, not just one specific group. Here are a few enhancements we've made to e.g. improve QoL and "advantages," if you see them that way, over the past two years: Continuous revisions to our server rules to clarify them and reduce players' (mostly criminals') fear of taking action due to concerns about DM, etc. We've revamped our Punishment Guidelines. Overhauled the Drug System and added effects to drugs (an advantage for criminals, as cops don't use drugs). - More power. Lowered weapon import prices and expanded the variety of weapons available to criminals, making heavy weapons more accessible. - More power and less fear of assets loss. Reduced prison time cap. Recently implemented a prison fine cap to avoid bankrupting criminals over a single incident. Continous QoL improvements to the Turf System. Continuous updates to the House Burglary script - more rewards and money. (probably deserves more changes to rewards) Added more scripted stores for robbery. - more money. Removed No Crime Zones. - less restrictions. In February, we introduced a significant QoL and reward change for dealers and chopped cars. - more money. Created a dynamic lab system that allows for continuous creation and rotation of new labs. - more interaction and money possibilities for organized groups. Implemented a delay before a car is reported stolen. - more money as less chance of detection. And the list goes on. This is on top of the inherent advantages already allowed in-game, such as (but not limited to) the ability to instigate first, organize ambushes, coordinate boat/bike drops, and evade detective RP by wearing masks and gloves. Most, if not all, of the above can be turned into an advantage depending on how you see and use it. Inherently, any new features for PD/SD will usually impact criminals in some way, as their RP job is to try and stop you. However, we constantly strive to balance it by providing criminals with other opportunities. So I do not suggest downplaying the efforts of our developers and staff team to improve things while also striving for balance. Is it perfect? Probably not, but these changes and many others' relevance to your playstyle are subjective. We are not catering solely to your playstyle. There is always talk of balance, fun, and RP. Remember, we are a roleplay server, and roleplay quality is our #1 priority. Roleplay should be fun; the actions and consequences of your roleplay should be enjoyable. You should develop a character, not play the game like any other game (e.g., Rust). This is a roleplay server where you create and develop a character in a virtual environment that simulates real life as much as possible. We strive for a balance between RP and gameplay, hence the implementation of measures like prison time and fine caps. However, achieving a 1:1 balance between different groups in an RP setting is not always possible. As a faction leader of SD and previously PD, you should recognize the countless hours we've invested, and continue to invest, with the current leaders of PD to improve the quality of life for criminals while maintaining realism. It's easy to make a sarcastic comment about how it shouldn't be an issue to man a helicopter, but only a small percentage of PD and SD members actually can. Most of the time, both PD and SD are without a helicopter. You might consider watching some PD/SD live streamers to understand the reality of helicopter availability, how long it takes to deploy one if there's none available, and other related challenges. Alternatively, you could go on ride-alongs with an alternative character. Remember, the world doesn't revolve around you. Just because you had a situation involving a helicopter and maybe other units, it doesn't mean the next person will experience the same thing. (This "you" is not directed at anyone specific, just anyone who feels this way). To those who entered this discussion with childish sarcasm and attacks, do better. Thanks for creating this suggestion!
  5. Hi team, I am reviewing this discussion and will investigate if the feature is malfunctioning to a degree that significantly impacts gameplay. This is a new feature for law enforcement, and we have already made balance adjustments. We remain open to further changes as needed. I must express my disappointment, as I have had to hide posts from a few individuals displaying childish behavior. I will continue to read through the remaining posts. If you cannot engage maturely in this discussion, you should refrain from participating (or even visiting the forums, to be honest). Regarding the blocked tunnels, there is (or was, the last time we tested) a bug that causes players to become invisible to others when entering these tunnels. They are not blocked without reason. I'll post an update here as soon as I have more information.
  6. also relevant to the blackjack dealer, seemingly the same issue - dealer is just giving the player cards leaving them no choice.
  7. Date and time (provide timezone): Tue May 28 2024 06:59:45 GMT+0000 Character name: Drake_Hunter Issue/bug you are reporting: The Player had just placed a 100k bet on the blackjack table and when the dealer is normally supposed to start with 2 cards for the dealer and 2 cards for the player(s), Drake Hunter was given 4 cards immediately. Relevant refund request: Expected behavior: For 2 cards to be given at the start, the player makes choices from there. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Vehicle license plate number*: Unrelated to a vehicle.

  9. 30/DEC/2023 Updated Non-Roleplay Rule and IC and OOC Interactions Changed in IC and OOC Interactions: Clarification: Before we required that players must have a screenshot of their RP with a timestamp. While this is still recommended to make your situation as smooth as possible, it is now possible to ask staff to validate your RP. However, submitting an in-game report can still take time and your RP cannot be validated until it is seen and verified, so it is still recommended to take screenshots. Removed from Non-Roleplay: - Not roleplaying effects of tazer. - Replenishing body armor in the middle of a gunfight. Clarification: Changes to tasers have been made, cuffing is a more efficient process, tackling has been added, there are plenty of forceful options. Replenishing body armor is an IC action and requires player to stand still and not engage in the fight, thus making them vulnerable - it can come with IC consequences. Script changes were also imposed on PD/SD to make it harder to change body armor.

  11. Comparing a gang headquarters to Mission Row is like comparing apples to oranges for me. Mission Row, as a police station, is not inherently dangerous and is designed to ensure the safety of individuals, contributing to their well-being. On the contrary, a gang headquarters embodies the opposite, it is a criminal area where individuals have the capability of causing harm or even threatening lives. While breaking a law and attempting to burglarize a car may result in imprisonment at Mission Row, doing the same near a gang HQ could escalate to the point of being shot or even losing one's life. Regarding the suggestion, I will maintain a neutral stance. Personally, I haven't encountered anything overly negative, aside from a few situations at Pillbox MD. However, from an SD perspective, our station has generally been fine, with occasional issues such as picklocking and theft of items.
  12. I think this could be a good Quality of Life and make zoomed-in pictures available for everyone on the server.
  13. GTA 5, unfortunately, falls short in terms of realism, especially when it comes to vehicle design. It wasn't primarily created with a focus on RP. In the game, you'll come across numerous vehicles that can be considered unfit for road use, lacking essential equipment and features, such as a physical plate, side mirrors, etc. Should we say that plates cannot be scanned, and that the model should be seen as it is, it will significantly impact the overall gameplay experience, as players might find themselves constantly pulled over, subjected to vehicle searches, and having their vehicles impounded due to the impracticality of their vehicles, a choice that neither they nor we made. To address this issue, especially concerning many motorcycles, we've said that all vehicles in the game have license plates. The script also assigns a unique license plate to every player-owned vehicle. The only cars that do not have a plate that will come back to you as a player are scrapyard vehicles, stolen NPC vehicles, or simply, vehicles of other players. You may want to explore one of those options if you intend on engaging in criminal activity and don't want the vehicle you're driving, to come back to you.
  14. Hello, we do not have an off-roading rule, we have a rule that prohibits climbing mountains and steep hills in non-appropriate off-road vehicles. If you have been punished for driving on a grass patch then I do suggest that you submit an appeal so that your situation can be looked at!
  15. 29/JUN/2023 We would like to announce a significant change regarding the implementation of scripted No Crime Zones (NCZ). We will be conducting a trial period to remove these zones in all areas except for banks and poker locations. The No Crime Zones were initially established in a different environment, and as both our community and staff team have evolved, we now possess more comprehensive guidelines and rules to address the issues that the No Crime Zones were designed to prevent. We want to emphasize that this change aims to enhance the natural and realistic role-play experience by eliminating potential interruptions. Previously, as an example, individuals could report heinous crimes, such as murder, and seek refuge within an NCZ. However, we feel that this practice, known as rule playing, has not been adequately enforced. Consequently, this trial period will restrict the extent to which individuals can utilize NCZs for protection in such situations. It is crucial to understand that the absence of scripted No Crime Zones does not excuse inappropriate behavior that was previously deemed unacceptable in these locations. This change does not grant a free pass to engage in disruptive activities at places like hospitals or to initiate robberies or other serious hostile actions within these areas. Players will still be held accountable for their actions according to all our other existing rules, including those pertaining to Non-RP, Robbery, and Theft. We hope that this trial period, which will last for an unspecified duration, proves successful in keeping No Crime Zones permanently disabled. Our goal is to foster an engaging and immersive environment that encourages responsible role-playing. No Crime Zones can and will still be used by the Event Team where they feel it is applicable, and can also be temporarily established by Senior Staff members in areas that they deem have the need for it. This change will not impact the utilization and locations of Speed Cameras, as they will continue to function both as an in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC) tool in these key areas. Their purpose is to discourage unrealistically excessive speeding.
  16. I see, I still don't know what the relevancy of the title is here though, I thought a staff member was harassing you when I first read it! Nonetheless, I wish you the best of luck in your search. If you feel someone has broken a rule, I do suggest posting a report so that it can be investigated.
  17. You might need to elaborate a bit more, and perhaps it's a player report you want to make against someone specific? I am just not sure how the title is relevant to the post content! - Osborn.
  18. Noted, will send a msg to GND
  19. We absolutely discharged a member for reacting poorly to a long-standing member's coming out post, AFTER making it clear that such behavior wasn't tolerated. This member has also shared concerning opinions (concerning to me) with another member about how they feel, prior to reacting in such a way. It is absolutely not something that I am willing to host in my faction, as for other factions, that's entirely up to their leaders. This is however not on topic with the original topic creator's intention. If the member we discharged wants to complain, they can go through Legal FM!
