  1. I welcome anyone to join SD (or PD) and you'll see that the 200 AP armor is rarely used (You can even take a ride-along on an alt! ). The only ones who can use it are tactical elements, GFU (at least in SD) uses 100 AP armor, and SED can use 200 AP armor but even then, that armor floats over their uniforms, it's ugly and not aesthetically pleasing. I must say in general, I am not a difficult person to work with. I've focused, when I lead PD, and now that I lead SD, to change policies in the fairness of criminal RP. But my decisions are based on logic, if something to me is too unrealistic, I cannot find myself implementing that in a policy. After playing 30+ hours/week for the past few months, I can safely say that there are a lot of situations that PD/SD loses on a daily, whether it's majority wipe, initial unit responding dying, or just criminals outsmarting us - but yes, there are a lot of situations that PD/SD will win as well, mostly when they either outnumber the criminals from the get-go, or the criminals stay in the area long enough for backup to arrive. PD/SD is reactive to the environment created by others. SD, for example, has recently been talking (In Character and Out of Character) to enforce the policy that disallows heavies from being carried on the back, which was an exemption implemented because of the IC environment back when SD was created, but we've found ourselves unable to re-enforce that policy simply because of how the IC environment is. I must say that personally, I do not agree with giving a patrol officer less armor than what's available to the average criminal, especially with the upcoming changes to weapons, bullets, and the implementation of armor plates to allow criminals to refill their armor. I think that you need to look at the grand picture rather than looking at it from the perspective of personal situations; most of the time (now this might be hard to realize if you've never been in SD/PD or had a ridealong), as a regular patrol officer, you're going to outnumbered in most situations, which in itself is already bad, and to make them easier targets than they already are, makes no sense to me. Players with issues of cops rushing into the center of situations, I remind you that Fear RP applies to cops just as much as it does to anyone else. In fact, we hold cops to higher standards (for some reason) when it comes to Fear RP, you won't (shouldn't) for example find a single unit enter a violent area such as Braddocks alone, as they have been told it's Fear RP. This is an example of something that is only enforced on cops. That's all I have to say! Happy Friday!

  4. Hey Bala, as I said, I'll review this thread closely! This basically means that I'll decide if I want to bring it up to Senior Staff to see if it's something we want to have implemented. I am sorry that you feel that your discussion was memed on! I thought I was pretty clear!
  5. As a homosexual, I granted myself the pass!
  6. I agree with this quote! People, I'm sorry you can't call people fanatic gamers or other MW2 words on this 17+ game /s On a more serious note, I'll review this closely!
  7. I'm happy that you've got a trucker's license! Thanks for sharing this very nice picture.
  8. Sorry, that is probably my fault after playing 10 hours of classical music and parking my car up at Mission Row As for allowing users to freely stream Spotify, I believe that may be a legal (and technical) issue.
  9. Our appeal system is dealt with on a case-by-case basis. We carefully review each appeal to ensure that we are making fair and informed decisions. In reviewing an appeal, we take into account a player's previous standing in the community, as well as the severity of their offense. When players are banned from the forums in connection with their game ban, there is very little chance for them to return. We want our community to be safe and healthy, and unfortunately, some individuals have done things that cannot be forgiven. It is our right to deny these individuals from participating in our community, and we have no interest in allowing those who have severely harmed our community, whether through harassing staff or engaging in activities such as doxing, severe bullying, or playing with known cheaters and ban evaders, back into the community. I understand that some players may have matured since their ban, but in most cases, this is not true. We are not willing to take the risk, for the sake of our community. I want to make it clear that our stance on this issue will not change in the foreseeable future, if ever. It is our right to deny harmful players from participating in our community, and we will continue to do so. If someone has messaged a member of Senior Staff and not gotten a response on their forum unban request, they can always send it to another Senior Staff member. Each request is brought up and discussed and a response should be given. I understand you might want to play with your friends, but unfortunately, what I've said stands.
  10. Jett Jones, I want to thank you for your bravery in coming out as a beggar. I know it must be difficult to have to ask for help, and I admire your courage. I am happy to provide you with 1 reputation point as a small gesture of support. Please know that you are not alone, and that there are people who care about you and want to help. - Osborn.

  15. Rock Bathsheba, originally, Rock Beauregard. Born in 1977 in Bastrop, Lousiana, one of many sons of the Beauregard family. Rock was raised in this world in a poor environment, an environment that consisted of alcohol, drugs, and physical abuse. His family had a strict hierarchy and was generally isolated from the outside world, the only contact they had was through their dealings with drugs and alcohol, much of which the Beauregard family manufactured. Due to the strict isolation, Rock was never socially adept, and he had no real knowledge of the world around him or any of its many wonders. Instead, Rock and his siblings were strictly taught at home and were only taught basic survival and communication skills. At the age of 14, Rock became more and more interested in the outside world. He and his siblings would often escape the compound in which their family resided. However, due to being inept in nearly every aspect of life, they wouldn't be accepted, and would generally cause trouble in the neighboring town. However, due to never being caught by the law, Rock and his siblings only had to suffer at the hands of their elders. This was Rock's life, for all his childhood and adulthood, until now. On a Sunny afternoon, in June 2022, Rock and his family were in the middle of cooking a batch of methamphetamine when the compound was surrounded by sirens. Unbeknownst to Rock, this would become the end of his previous life, and the start of his new one. As the compound was raided by authorities, all of the Beauregard went into DEFCON-1 mode, shots rang out, and many ran around in a frenzy. Rock, however, had never been this scared, he hunkered down, and as his flight response kicked in, he escaped the compound. To this day, Rock does not know what happened to his family, however, he knew that he couldn't turn back. With the lack of social skills, and not having much else than survival and basic communicative abilities, Rock had a rough time as he traversed through several towns, eventually states, until he found himself at what became his new home, San Andreas. In San Andreas, Rock met a group of people, to him, seemed familiar with his siblings and parents. They called themselves the Bathshebas. The Bathshebas accepted Rock into their group and treated him as one of their own, and through them, Rock was indoctrinated into the Church of Flarg, and their beliefs. Knowing no better, it wasn't difficult for Rock to get accustomed, and through his newfound family, he was helped to erase his past, and become Rock Bathsheba. Ahead of Rock lies an unknown path, a path of adventures, and mysteries. Will San Andreas accept Rock for who he is and what he believes?
  16. Sorry, but we are not interested in allowing shadows to be removed, this was a decision taken by the admin staff team after meetings and it is the direction that we want to have the community towards. It grants too much of an advantage in especially shootouts (and dark areas), the settings provided by GTA 5 are sufficient for computers in this day and age to be able to play the game. We do not want users to feel forced to alter their graphics outside of the game to have the same advantage as others. It is a roleplay server, and not a PVP-focused server, which the removal of game shadows (among other graphical adjustments) meta stems from. We are sorry if there is someone out there that absolutely cannot play this game without removing shadows, and using the settings provided by GTA 5 themselves. However, benchmarks of GTA 5 have proven that GPUs as old as 660 (and older, including hardware from that era) can run this game decently well with the settings provided. Rage MP may have some optimization issues but we have staff that runs on old hardware and they have no issues playing the game. No one is immediately banned for removing shadows, and if they are, in most cases, they are unbanned after proving that they have uninstalled them. In normal circumstances, Unfair Game File Modifications follow a punishment progression like other punishments. There are however cases where this may differentiate, as there could be other factors involved.

This man just called u buddy, to me, that is an insane L and attack to your whole identity. I, a noble administrator and one with high intellect, will have to conclude this as an L - your new name will be LhiLoooop

  19. Hey, you can utilize the player report section to submit staff complaints. Alternatively, you can also contact MrSilky or Redhot directly (e.g. discord) to raise complaints. Edit: Commendations can also be sent to MrSilky and Redhot directly, they monitor our admin staff closely and it will surely help them! I'll see if we can create a section for Staff Commendations however.
  20. Overhauling DOC to make the stay more enjoyable from an OOC perspective (although irrelevant to the current topic which is about freelance jobs) is on the agenda! I hope to be able to create a direct communication line created between DOC leaders and relevant staff to expedite improvements to DOC, as Chunder has been extremely enthusiastic about DOC and has had many great ideas!
  21. This is a very good post! We have recognized the need to overhaul most legal jobs, it is just an extensive project and the developers have quite a few in the works at the moment. As a start, I will bring the following up with the developers but cannot provide any guarantees that they will/can be implemented: For the Coroner Job, add the ability for admin staff to create incident sites similar to the road worker job, so that the job isn't entirely reliant on players dying and other players actually calling them, while still keeping the option to call a coroner. I'm also going to ask for a coroner application on the phone to make it friendlier for newer players who don't know the number, and for a coroner drop-off to be added at the coroner HQ by Central MD. For the Trucker Job, I'm going to ask for orders to be generated when there are none, orders that won't actually stock businesses but still allow players to engage with the trucker job. For the Tollbooth Worker Job, I'm going to ask for a passive salary similar to that of a burger-shot employee. While it may not solve the aspect of it being lonely, it is unfortunately a job by nature that relies on players actually driving through the toll booths, which isn't a necessity. I'm also going to ask about the possibility to give players the ability to form "job groups" in order to perform jobs together that make sense, e.g. garbage, and coroner.
  22. Hey man, I am glad you decided to join DCC, they are a great bunch and it will help you gain some experience with the server environment! I'm happy for you.
