The basis of my post was that the human mind is an enigma and there's truly no way to pinpoint why people do certain things. Some people will snitch out of spite, some people will snitch out of gain. Going running to IA /is/ on the same ground as someone snitching to the police. If you want to argue "highlighting misconduct" you can also say that criminals going to the police about other organizations is highlighting misconduct. People DO post forum reports out of spite. I have seen plenty of gang on gang beef completely tainted by people rushing to post forum reports instead of handling their issues on through RP. There is a reason I don't post forum reports, it just leads down a spiral of negative feelings for everyone involved. The situation you mention about most of the time RP leading nowhere because of masks is a problem created by the players themselves which has seen zero improvement in over 5 years. Masks are too prevalent but that is a community issue that needs to be changed by the players themselves. Even finishing people off in gunfights is detrimental to the server because of the way the NLR rule works. Everyone wants to get their "Revenge RP arc" but nobody will take the time out of their day and ask themselves why that's not possible.

I was at the situation you're talking about. I won't reveal exactly what happened so I don't ruin any RP that can come from it. However, I will say that I personally don't see an issue with a criminal organization snitching on a RIVAL organization. What difference does it make if they're snitching on their own gang or another gang? One could argue that making an IA report would fall under the same pretense no? People hate snitches in general, but thats exactly why they hate them because it diminishes the gains of others. I don't understand the logic of saying "criminals shouldn't snitch on other criminals" why is it so taboo? If your character had the opportunity to make money or get personal gain would they not snitch on someone? Take it from someone that has seen both sides of the stick, you'd be surprised how many people will flame rival organizations for snitching but then hit my characters line up doing the same thing. Its human cognitive bias, just how our minds work. People forum report opposing factions all the time and let me tell you a lot of the time it's out of spite why is ICly calling the police /any/ different? People are malicious and SWAT people all the time irl, some people will literally just want to see the downfall of others. You'd be surprised how spiteful things can get. EDIT: You'd be surprised with how a lot of the times, its not even a criminal snitching but a legal person instead. Also in regards to criminals snitching, I think its bold to assume people do not gain from snitching. You'd be surprised the salary a snitch for PD has ; ) https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?t=172728

Nothings impossible just gotta keep trying and trying ya feel?

Thats what im saying gangster, we need to move these protests from the forums to in game so that actions can actually be taken. Like imagine if all the OG underground people came and started an IC revolution on the server. Now that is an RP opportunity!
-
But the server ICly is not a free society is what I feel like people are missing.. Its a dictatorship with some charm on the side.. Stop looking at it like the UK or US. This is literally stated in the constitution.

I am one of the most adamant pushers and supporters for bench trials BEFORE people are sentenced to DOC, But I also feel like this will require a lot more work. On NGRP, if a cop said something in court it was taken as proof. I feel like here, appeals and the burden of proof is a lot different which would be improved by things like a true forensic script, blood, DNA etc. I think trials are the epitome of "criminal vs law enforcement" roleplay and I would love to see bench trials.
-
I think eventually once there is a stable way to keep checks and balances, the reign of Lewis will come to an end. Lewis on NGRP was not always the head of state, he lost elections sometimes and won sometimes. He is not the type to keep power just because he can. I just think that currently maybe its best to have the one person in control of everything to be one of the head admins. Perhaps when we move from the dictatorship over to a more democratic entity, and the governor positions authority is shifted into different branches then elections can be held and the torch can be passed down. But like I said earlier, Lewis is my homie and I do have bias so I could be wrong.

I think that a "Tierra Robada" equivalent situation on ECRP would be a really cool experience. I did enjoy the martial law roleplay that happened during war time and having to militarize the police forces in order to fight off the other country it was a fun time and I still preach about it today. I also agree that the NGRP judicial system was amazing, but that was only because the Chief Justice was an actual expert in law, being himself a veteran attorney. I do miss Moey and I tried bringing his vision over when designing the current judicial system here but sadly like I mentioned, I was the minority in deciding to establish the judicial system based off US law and instead it was decided on what we have now.
-
I don't think this would happen to be honest, I always tell Pazz that if anyone tried to arrest them ICly they would have to fight off the LSPD kill squad first. The government might have total OOC power but ICly they have to respect the rules for rulers. I highly suggest watching this video, Its a good watch and honestly really informative unironically.
-
I was on the development team for the government system. I DO agree with some of your points, the Judicial System as it stands is not the vision I had for the server. I always wanted US caselaw to be the basis and founding framework for our judiciary system. Same with the constitution, it should have been a modified version of the United States'. On the other hand though, I disagree about the nepotism comments as I DO feel like people in positions within the judicial branch currently have earned their place whether I disagree with how everything turned out or not.
-
I disagree with resistance roleplay being disallowed OOCly. It should be crushed ICly and solely ICly. I also think people forget that this whole government system was not always there. People have it REALLY good right now if you look at how things were back in the day it was a literal military state ran by the Police Commission.
-
What helps me cope is I tell myself we're NOT playing a game based on a democracy, Consider the government more like a dictatorship and it will make more sense RPly. I don't necessarily feel like its "corruption" per say, I think people just forget that we're not in a democratic state ya feel me? So I think calling it corruption is a reach. Its like if a news agency in North Korea would start talking down on Kim Jong Un, they would probably be in a worst position than losing a couple of cars. In this particular situation, Weazel News is funded BY the government right? So biting the hand that feeds you won't take you far. Just like IRL a police departments funding is at the mercy of the board of Police Commissioners. If that board thinks they need less funding, bye bye expensive cruisers, job cuts etc. Lewis is my homie though so there is definitely some cognitive bias from my end of the stick.

Make it NRP to Act like burgershots a gang.

We need different food items to provide different effects possibly like a legal version of drug effects that are balanced around the hunger/thirst meter. Currently when your wellness is low, you can eat fries and each time you take a bite your wellness meter goes up. This is capped when your hunger meter fills up and stops restoring wellness completely if you're fully sated. The Heart Stopper Burger: Increased strength for a certain amount of time (Melee damage boost and better resisting against cuff mechanics) Fries: Same as current, increase wellness maybe bump up the wellness gained per munch by 1 or 2. The Bleeder: Acts similar to smoking marijuana where it heals you per bite (this is balanced since you cant eat when you're full and will obviously stop healing you per bite if you're full hunger). Burgershot Soda: Different than a standard soda, give you a small speed boost while you're in the sipping animation. (Stops boosting speed when thirst meter is full). -

Jump Out Boys noun 1. Slang term for an archetype of police officer, specifically a plainclothes arrest team that speed into a situation - emerge quickly from their vehicles, thus "jumping out" and make arrests by force. Developed in the 1980s to combat inner-city gang violence and narcotics sales.

My prices are absolutely without a doubt correct based on imports. An Assault Rifle (AK), .50 and 100% Kevlar costs less than 50k not including ammo costs. A .50 is less than 5k to import (Like I said I'm not gonna reveal the /EXACT/ price). If >50K for possibly the strongest loadout is too much then you can get a shotgun, .50 and 75% Kevlar for less than 35k not including ammo costs. There is definitely more than 2% of the playerbase that has access to these prices. Not only do multiple people in multiple criminal factions have access, but you also include the friends of those people that get imports from them. Of COURSE a person in a legal faction is going to be spending less on /ILLEGAL/ equipment. As a law enforcement officer those guns are not yours. You leave them at work you don't take them home. As a law enforcement officer if you want to have your gun, it costs more than it does criminal factions. A criminal OWNS the guns, they KEEP the guns. A legal entity does not. It /IS/ dogshit quality RP. There needs to be more criminal progression, criminal actions should have a REASON and a GOAL in mind. If I do a job, not only should my payout be dirty money but it should also enable me to do other jobs as opposed to everyone being able to do everything just by zerg rushing. I rob an ATM, I should have a small chance at finding a rare item that enables me to start a bank robbery, then from that bank robbery I should have a small chance of finding an item that lets me hit the main city vault on vinewood blvd, then from that vault I should have a small chance of finding an item that enables me to rob a security company that I can loot AKs, SMGs, etc. Labs should have a good payout sure, high risk high reward, constant shootings there etc. This should not invalidate other means of criminal progression though. Chopping cars no. Chopping cars at high criminal locations that usually end up with 30+ bodies yes. People can get chop equipment and hold their own chop operations anywhere. If you're chopping at chilliad or hole-in-the-wall then you're gonna get ganked by a rival gang or police. So yes, you need to be prepared for the worst. You invest money to secure profit.

Criminal RP in general is not ruined by the "economy". You can make a treasure trove of money by sitting in a drug lab, cooking nonstop, leaving to grab more supplies and repeat. While this is not as easy as last year where we had literal AFK farming happening inside houses due to house drug labs, its just as profitable from cooking. It is also MORE SO if you include the assets you gain from wiping the opposing gangs trying to step up to you. I have seen countless of videos, clips and screenshots of people holding a lab, cooking, making hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of drugs from a single lab hold AND on top of that coming out with multiple class 2s, a bag full of .50s etc. The economy is heavily leaning towards the criminal element which quite frankly should be. As you mentioned, there is a RISK and a REWARD. If we want to include police into the mix, It is rare that police show up to a criminal location. 100% of the time there is a good reason for cops showing up which could have been avoided if more people used their noggins when dealing with criminal locations. An example being, two days ago a massive gang-on-gang fight was happening and multiple people on BF400s were spotting speeding through the city with class 2 weapons on their backs that led police DIRECTLY TO THE ISLAND. If we want the server to be TRULY healthy, we should focus on actually having meaningful updates for example: Buffing/Nerfing cars every-so-often so no one car is truly a buy-to-win and instead you focus on buying cars you ENJOY. Changing the current rules of deathmatching, fear RP, etc. To be LESS strict since you currently need a college level thesis for a criminal to shoot another criminal. Consistent updates, clothing, hairstyles, gang headquarters, heist progression. Thats just a small amount of ideas that should be focused on instead of making up "cop v criminal economical" problems. The way the server has its criminal activities set up, chilliad (alongside other dynamic lab/chop locations) is considered end-game criminal progression. If you want to go straight to holding a chop or a lab and get railed by an opposing gang or police then I'm sorry that is a skill issue. The way the faction rules for PD/SD are set up make it so they can only go to those locations if something somewhere goes wrong on the criminal side of things. Which is EXTREMELY lenient. If you want to hold a chop or lab then you should be prepared to fight opposing gangs or the police. You're not "risking so much" to gain so little. You're risking a .50 and impound fees to possibly gain over hundreds of thousands of dollars. The problem is that you're not preparing for every outcome. Lets also stop the slander right now about gun prices and kevlar prices. You can get a full loadout for under 30-50k as it stands depending on the guns and armor you choose. A .50 is less than 5k to import (I wont reveal the exact price to not cuck any criminal gunrunning RP). Kevlar is also dirt cheap. If you're in a criminal organization and you're doing end-game content such as holding a lab or a chop and are not bringing class 2s and body armor then quite frankly you're risking your characters life in order to min-max profits. You want to know WHY a gang like CSB can consistently overpower gangs holding entrenched locations? I've cleaned up gang shootouts and seen the difference in firepower between the two groups.

You gotta tell em it wasnt me, this heavily implies I did it cause its my thread!

Was the same on NGG, every different thing that popped in the chat had a certain color so you could identify what was pertinent and what was not. Advertisements on NGG were lime green. An example picture I found from looking through old NGG screenshots:

Pretty straightfoward, 90% of the time your chatbox will be spammed with useless things that are not roleplay related. The chatbox feels like you're scrolling through an illegal movie site covered in colors and popups. 1) Make Weazel ads a phone app that you scroll through like some kind of twitter feed. 2) Remove the random rule reminders eg. "[ECRP]: Do not PAUSE/STALL RP if a rule is broken!"

Custom animations in general please!!! Gang hand signs, weapon holding animations for pictures etc. Plenty of animation packs running around on mod sites up for grabs!!!!

Yeah no.... This is not anywhere close to true.

Ive had a handful of interactions with members of The Souls and every single time I've had a blast. Whether they're bamboozling my character or shooting at him its always in a fun and unique way. Top notch individuals hands down. These guys have the Clank seal of approval.

If PD can access a list of anyones owned/accessible properties, accessible keys, vehicles as well as being able to access those respective and public parking lots and safes Id have no problem supporting this. Sadly PD must jump through endless hoops including needing admins to do any of those mentioned. Phone records were already deemed "too powerful" which is a joke considering the level of work you need to get a warrant for them.
