This would have to be a long drawn out process carried out by either admins or "old" players with cash who don't have need for money. Especially during the early stages of development. Even then, the system should be use only to bring about more RP. Considering the impact holding a role like this could have on the gameplay of others and their availability to game money should not be introduced from a top down perspective.

This is a topic that has been mentioned many time, however through the lens of a gov faction I genuinely believe there is room for this to take shape. Building on from your proposal I would propose thinking around ideas such as these: Have people apply on the forums similar to other gov factions. Just make the requirements ridiculously hard and make sure it's as unbiased as possible. Players then, if they choose, go "on duty" like other factions. Once (for example) 10 people actively go "on duty" players on the server are notified that the "City Council" is now in session. For a case to be heard a player must Have more than 5 (for example) hours to serve in prison. This is to condense the numbers down. They must: have footage of said offence. If they wish to defend it they must provide evidence A player does not have to be in attendance, eliminating heavy logistics a court system "should" have. Should this system develop the on sight DOC facilities for parole (similar to mentioned above) may be an option. Players may only request a "city council" appeal every so often. Similar to only being able to break out of prison, with limitations. Successful or not, that player may be charged for the service. Players must agree that if additional charges are found when the "city council" views any evidence provided from officers that these charges may too be applied to the player/prisoner. Also, should an officer be found abusing their powers that the prisoner be released and compensated accordingly. These are just thinking points sureounding the idea of a functioning Judicial and the ideas of Law and Order within the city. Hopefully something to think around. I believe it is doable should it be thought through and rolled out in the correct way. Probs best to let admin role it our and try the system out first should this ever become a thing Cheers Edit. Considering the growing numbers on the server it would be cool to see this develop

+1 this would be a massive improvement to RP, immersion and gameplay. Mega +1

introducing a vending machine doesnt really contribute much more to RP though, if you suggested that these vending machines be owned and operated by anothe job which require filling then that would be better. i mean, whats the added benefit of working vending machines? as opposed to the immersive benefit of having people act as vendors in various stores and restaurants across the city. i mean on the basis os vending machines existing ill give it a plus 1, in terms of promoting immersion, player interactiona dn gameplay i give it a -1 . just my opnion though .

-1 imo, use your words to describe your locations and learn the map more. overall will be healithier for the server in the long run as it encourages players to learn the map more. a minimap is op enough imo.
-
just add another location then to avoid the lag spikes, add another high end just do it at a different location, problem solved
-
-1 this suggestion does not promotoe player interaction. why have a vending "machine" when you can have a player work as an actual vendor and promote player interactions?

This looks amazing. Great great job. -
Its all RP dude, Seaweed should have brought the balance in their favour first, Its all RP at the end of the day, both of those factions have had to RP to get to that position. What are they going to do now, just be like "nah fuck all that RP and history bro, lets just shoot each other and have a war"?

-1 The server would be ruined in a very short amount of time as everyone would gank cops for fun and get guns, within a week I would imagine very few people would work jobs and would just be full of guns - 1) Cops become free, easily lured weapons delivered to the player 2) Those that do not gank cops would find that they quickly become outgunned by swarms of criminals now in possession of heavy weapons, in bulk. 3) Would totally change the pace and tempo of RP and gameplay throughout the server. However, the ability for certain ranked officers (like really highly ranked officers) to be lootable would be interesting, this implements some of what you ask whilst allowing the staff to control 1) the gun flow and 2)RP standards and quality By allowing some officers (identified by clothing) to be lootable, I believe this could only increase RP. Imagine ambushing a specific (rare) cop, maybe you don't rob weapons but there radio freq, information on upcoming raids or something but have the cops be an output source of RP as opposed to the responsive nature in which they operate at current. Possible items to loot - - A pass which allows for a one-time crime offense to be OOC sanctioned within a NCZ (to present to admin, not to other cops ofc, this is not a get out of jail free card). - A temporary police badge which they can show to people (they can they frisk and pretend to be a police officer for a while, this would generate a lot of RP). - A one time use GPS police car tracking device remover (so the criminal can pull people over and cannot be tracked immediately) - The officer's personal phone number (give them a linked temp number so the cop doesn't have to swap phones, but rather the crim loses the details after 1 IRL week) - Any other suggestions anyone wants to add? this is just off the top of my head. It must be noted that rather than the current loot system a RNG mechanics ought to be applied outputting only one of the above items with a % chance to completely fail. This is just a way to add more opportunities to RP throughout the server whilst respecting the nature of RP within Eclipse.

Boom Boom looks awesome guys, GL with everything.

This is a good point to make, so your main debate is concerned with where actually does RP begin and end vs the ability to KOS under the current ruleset? 1. RP starts when you enter the server (if you take 1 Zeta member hostage IMO then you ought to be KOS by anyone willing to shoot you) . The Zeta and Triads (Random Examples) might RP having a "Defence Pact" with each other should a member of either gang need help. Now, with this news being general news than by taking either a Zeta or Triad member hostage then IMO that warrants others having KOS on you, otherwise, if the player is forced to Re=engage with more RP at the time, then this throws away all the group RP that was previously established between the Zeta and Triads and its the same when at war, IMO in the situation, you have provided then the argument ought to be that the RP has already begun, the RP began as soon as they took someone at gunpoint, they don't know that person friends, if they a cop, gangster, are meeting someone there already or anything, the moment they raise a weapon to someone they ought to be open to KOS from, good samaritans, friends, and family of the victim/hostage, friendlies of the hostage coming to help, the police randomly passing by. This debate feeds into debates that have been had before surrounding KOS. IMO, if you join a gang for example, then you should be worried constantly about the growing threat of enemies. If 2 groups, say The Rebels and Seaweed decide to go to WAR, like official war at the leadership level, then that is all the RP that ought to be needed. by being a member of either gang your current state of RP is at WAR and therefore I do not believe is necessary to reengage with more RP on the scene as this leads to a lot of very very situational reports flooding the forum. Its almost like you give a verbal warning of "hands up" which translates more to (how far away am I from the person shouting commands, is the window up/down, what speed am I going, can I retaliate without being reported.......) For Official factions such as the Zeta and Triads and with more stringent membership requirements and authorization from admin applied onto smaller gangs including a verified membership number and names list then this KOS between gangs can be effective). But essentially the point you raise is a good one, it is certainly one that needs a revisit to help improve and maintain organically occurring firefights whilst helping to decrease the number of situational reports being submitted - evident in the two and fro nature of many reports. Overall, very touchy subject, 100% will always be getting revised and revisited. Cheers, GLHF

you changed this line in your bio "SeaWeed are gangsters at heart" it use to say "rebels at heart" - i prefer the previous version Good thread though GL

You agree with boredom and there is not enough to do, but you think "making them (criminal activities)" more "complicated...is [not] the solution", yet you acknowledge the lack of "depth" in what criminals can do? I would argue its probably both. I mean, yes I was arguing for more depth but yes but as you say there should also be a broader range as well i listed 3 things also above : "1. The wanted could dispose of police cars and export them at the Docks. 2. The Triads could get a "Made in Asia" perk or reduced price on guns imports. 3. The Rebels (dead now) could have gotten a custom "The Rebels" leather jacket (as they dont care for guns)" The middle one is the only real perk, the first one is something "MORE" for crims to do - think of it as similar to a tool which only certain people may have, a tool used to gain access to people homes which would also constitute as being a perk, but tbf, being a faction comes with perks, and rightly so. The third was just cosmetic. What would you actually suggest? what jobs or activities, tweaks or suggestions? Money laundering? Drug dealing?

Next time a gov faction opens recruitment, don't do it all on the website, do a job fair upstairs in the bank or somewhere people often visit, have admin place a table and chairs and as the first part of their application ask people to come for a chat at the desk, you then "hand them" the application form IC and they go and fill it in OOC. Just a little bit of immersion ya know

+1 good suggestion, also, Block anonymized numbers if needed and yeah the bank notification, I've made 2 different suggestions for them to get rid of it, it does not serve a single purpose apart from to promote Poor RP. It really needs to go, I hate that thing way more than I should do. lol at least make the notification an opt in system. so if those players want to see it, they can.
-
yes but that is all RP, what happens when one crew hoards all the heavies, the smaller gangs get together and take them out - in primates, the alpha is never the strongest or fastest, it is the one who can maintain relationships with the group. The original suggestion does need more considering, as right now, you become a faction and then kinda just have to start selling weapons, this means you have like 20 boys running around selling weapons. There SHOULD be a monopoly on guns, it should be controlled by a single actor or two tops for competition purposes, in any major city there are never multiple weapons syndicates there is always the main importer, drugs are different but the illegal weapons market is highly exclusive. To add to the suggestions 1. The wanted could dispose of police cars and export them at the Docks. 2. The Triads could get a "Made in Asia" perk or reduced price on guns imports. 3. The Rebels (dead now) could have gotten a custom "The Rebels" leather jacket (as they dont care for guns) But you are right, there 100% needs to be more for factions to do, this is evident in the number of gang members just stood at the bank or behind it, there is obviously a lack of inspiration for some of the big guys to RP. By limiting their available resources you kinda force interaction between the major groups. Now a lot of people would say that "forced interaction" on an RP server is bad, but your comment is tailored around heightening the RP quality on the server so anyone with this argument against you missed the point IMO. "so what do you do now you have joined xxxxxxx" "not much tbf mate, I got a guy who sells me a gun and I just sell them on" This was said to me at the bank when I asked them what else they did they said - "not much mate, answer a backup call every now and then but apart from that not much" This guy had reached the endgame of money-making within a few weeks of being on the server, his gang imported guns, so that's what he did, oh and "fuck with the cops". Collectively, there really needs to be more creativity between criminals and civilians, its a good sight seeing the newly created Farmers and Truckers Union, finally, omeone is doing something IC about the constant wave of unorganized crime and muggings

Allow names of loan companies to be changed

With the number of other suggestions where an IC admin role is needed there really should be some form of employment at the government building - *listing houses *chaning company names *changing licence plate *changing ownership of vehicles and houses *Paying off fines to the DVLA *any other admin work that benefits from IC immersions and RP. This could just be another role for the City Hall (future possible faction) staff to do, they could get a job and sit at the desk waiting for people, just like the mechs do. -
Overall this is a neat suggestion, there was also a clothing drop off suggestion not too long ago to decrease the amount of clothing found on the streets, maybe this can all be done under the same "recycling center" or "charity or thrift store". Someone stated earlier that it would increase robberies, I mean, this is true, it would increase robberies, but only a little bit, to the point where it isn't that noticeable tbf, I mean, hunting increased robberies when that was introduced - creating any hotspot will always increase robberies in that area, there are only so many criminals so that just means that somewhere else would get safer. The more hotspots for thieves to roam between the more safer they all become as criminals become stretched thin. So yeah, might increase robberies by the tiniest little bit, but it's far better than having to just despawn rods on the floor, imo. +1 for immersion +1 for job types and character development +1 for CONTENT,

+1 this can only add immersion
