  1. I agree. Shouldn't be a double standard. It might be Non-RP, but I would rather see criminals be allowed to have 5-7 vehicles involved in a chase and have PD/SD react IC'ly than only one side being able to do it.
  2. It's a pain in the ass to log-in and navigate + has way to much ''fluff'' (useless features no one really uses), if the developers want to have something like life invader in-game, just make a sort of advertising app/board that requires no log-in and anyone can post any advertisements. Similar to twitter, yellow pages, In a few old-school SAMP servers you could have ads like we do now, through weazel which everyone on the server can see, but you could also access a phone app and put up an ad yourself for a lot cheaper.(however it wouldn't be visible to all, only those who access the phone app) The advantage being that phone ads would last a lot longer. Perhaps even incorporate it with @Bala's mall MLO and have a section where people can go there and pin an ad or general message to a notice board and other players can head there and check every so often.
  3. +1 Except JB has been an absolute pleasure to work in, It's been one of the factions I've had the most RP in. (Having been in SD/PD since 2019, including Detective, that's saying a lot) From meeting people at DOC with interesting cases, representing people in SD/PD interrogations, trials and hearings, building relationships with people that now regularly contact me for legal advice all the way to having a direct impact on the penal code. Now, I won't defend something I'm not aware of, I have only been in JB for a couple of months, but I do think there is value in having a faction where players can appeal there charges. I can tell you from first hand experience having done appeals on Frank (my criminal alt) and also having represented people on Cyrus, there absolutely is situations where someone shouldn't have been arrested (which is fine, that's why court is here, so we can deal with it ICly). The answer here wouldn't be to just get rid of JB and rely on IA. (not saying that's your suggestion). As far as new Laws go, the last major ones were SAAA laws and drug laws, the latter merely clarified drug charges and what is considered a drug/controlled substance, something absent from previous laws and actually benefited criminal players. An example is addition of GC06 which made possession of certain amounts of weed/plants/seeds liable only for citation and not arrest. As for arrest reports, that's a basic component of PD/SD RP, I'm sorry but the things I've seen the past month where some PD/SD don't even have bodycam RP (we don't even ask for physical recording) or have a half-written arrest report is not something I would expect from a faction that has high standards of RP. This reply is long enough and I want to make it clear I agree with the majority of the suggestion. If you or anyone has any issues feel free to bring it up with JB command, both OOC and IC, I'm sure they would be willing to listen. I just feel like putting a faction on blast with little insight with how it works probably isn't the best thing.
  4. Big -1 This issue has been discussed before and there's a reason why the server staff decided to implement stricter rules surrounding use of slurs. The reality is that only a handful of people properly RP characters that would justify the use of these slurs. 99% of other players use these terms loosely and with no RP attached to it, I assume because it's tied with gaming culture. There are still situations where I'm at burger shot and some new player who barely sounds 14 is going around saying the n-word. It's not needed and if you think it fits your character you can ask for OOC permission, if everyone agrees then have fun. It shouldn't be hard to avoid saying nigga.
  5. Do you mind clarifying what your prescription is then? Are you trying to say that TS should be removed because of mixing and metagaming solely based on your experience?
  6. With all due respect, they are baseless the moment you have neither any corroborating evidence or other people to backup what you're saying.
  7. Allegations of Metagaming should be dealt with by reporting it to LFM and staff via a forum report. As for ''LEO's have literally all the 900 radio frequencies to themselves. It is more than possible to have multiple JTACs. '' It's already been pointed that PD/SD have a drastically different set of circumstances that justify the use of teamspeak. Furthermore, if script support is implemented to accommodate those circumstances, I doubt anyone would have an issue with switching over. Lastly as a general comment about the thread. I agree doing /vr 1 every so often is pretty bad, but the solution isn't opening the flood gates for everyone to use teamspeak, keep in mind LSPD/LSSD are factions that are highly regulated, needing to maintain and extreme amount of oversight on teamspeak as it is a privilege granted by staff. Anyone found abusing this privilege will quickly be dealt with and as mentioned above, anyone who notices this being abuse can and has the obligation to report this. (instead of commenting with baseless allegations.)

and I support your willingness to complain about this. You don't have to follow my advice, but what I would do is focus on threads that clearly outline issues with criminal RP without making it a PD vs Crim thread, I don't think it helps and ultimately you end up alienating people that would otherwise probably agree with some of the larger points you have to make.

Sure, if there is an imbalance in weapon damage, you can make a suggestion addressing this issue. This is an issue with backup rules as I mentioned (one which I agree with). PD/SD having nothing to do with this, advocate for a change in the current backup rules. Like I mentioned, I agree with you and I doubt most would be against making PD/SD own their vehicles and maintain them. Like I mentioned, I agree with you and I doubt most would be against making PD/SD buy their own equipment. But this goes back to what I said, this is an RP server, there will likely never be a situation where PD/SD is all out of money and unable to enforce the law. Your issue is likely not being able to afford weapons/armour without it being very costly as a criminal, which is why you rarely see crims using body armor or even heavies. PD/SD having to pay for equipment won't change anything significantly from your side of things.

Let me get this straight. In a situation where we have 40 units available, you would rather have 10 units per criminal and have 4 people go to jail for 3-4 hours VS 40 units after 1 guy, and only having 1 guy go to jail while everyone else gets to take advantage of the mismanagement?

-1 Most of the grievances in this thread aren't at all related to PD/SD, and ironically I doubt most legal roleplayers would oppose implementing something like @XeV mentioned with making PD/SD own their vehicles (with IC rules to prevent use while off-duty) and thus have them pay for fuel, maintenance, towing, etc... or Adding other costs for more advanced weaponry and armour. why? Because it will barely impact the type of RP they do. This idea from criminal RPers that ''OH MY GOD, if only PD couldn't spawn vehicles fast or had to pay for their own guns, maybe crim RP wouldn't suck so hard!!'' is a delusion. However, your issues are much more related to rule surrounding faction member limits, ability to call for backup from allies, turf/import system, drug system, etc... Stop making threads like this and wasting everyone's time. You guys have plenty of valid complaints of things that are killing/restricting your RP and It definitely isn't PD/SD You complain about 40 units vs 1 person? Actually WHOMEGALUL cares? That just means that PD/SD have seriously mismanaged their resources and now 99% of the other criminals can go and do some crime without any consequences, in case I have to spell this out for you, this is a GOOD thing for you... Your issue isn't PD having carbines (not to mention they are rank restricted), your issue is not having accessible weapons as official factions that don't cost your left testicle to obtain, so complain about that. I could go on, but I'm not gonna bother writing 30 paragraphs of stuff that's been said in the past. You guys have legit grievances most if not all PD players will AGREE with this, where you lose most of them is making threads like these that read like someone complaining about a competitive game balance as if this is a cops vs robbers server.
  12. ''Comment about criminals vs PD for the 50,000,000th time'' - Some random guy
  13. Is there a big difference in packed cash in terms of maintaining turf when it comes to packed money from chopping, 24/7s, ATMs vs Bank Robbery ? Could this be offset by increasing payouts in these other areas?
  14. -1, while the current bank meta is a bunch of borderline non-RP mess of 20 bikes leaving 2-4 mins into the robbery while everyone does /grabcash, the solution isn't to restrict bank robberies via mod+ request, this is a sure fire way to further alienate the criminal playerbase. If anything the script should be changed: add separate tasks during a bank robbery that each person has to be doing that would naturally extend the duration of the heist. (Hacking mini-game, drilling mini-game, controlling bank teller mini-game, cutting CCTV/Silent Alarm mini-game, loading money into bags mini-game, etc... add an option to fully stealth the bank (in order to do this a group of people would essentially have to perfectly complete all their tasks, which should be very hard/almost impossible unless it's a crew with vast experience.) Make it easier for people to take a hostage an use that as a negotiating tool with PD/SD, making the focus actually trying to evade. Even if you disagree with all the points above, surely there are better ways to solve the bank meta instead of hiding it behind staff permission.
  15. to incentivise players to not speed IC'ly past zones that would realistically have a ton of people next to them.
  16. Except ''stolen'' is not easy to define, either IC'ly or OOC'ly. Is it voided if the car was reported stolen before the fines were given? After? At any time? How do you determine if the person driving the vehicle stole it or if it's someone that has permission to drive the car? What prevents people from sharing cars with each other and constantly claiming that their car was stolen and therefore all fines should be voided. Not saying it's impossible, but to get a system up and running like the one you're talking about would be a developmental nightmare I suspect, but hey if someone can provide a clear outline of how it will work including how it will continue to stop people from recklessly speeding at 240 in another car they don't own past speed cameras, then I'm all ears.
  17. Player A logs out at legion square, leaving their car locked. Player B lockpicks the car, stealing it and driving it around for the next 3-4 hours and eventually leaving it at burgershot parking. Player B wakes up the next day, noticing he now has 50,000$ worth of fines on his vehicle. He heads to Mission Row to complain about the tickets, claiming his vehicle was stolen. In this scenario explain the following: How would PD/SD figure out if the car was truly stolen? Would they rely on the man's verbal statements? If Verbal Statements are enough to get the fines voided, wouldn't this mean that anyone can effectively complain about getting a car stolen to avoid speed camera fines? The current system while not perhaps the most realistic, works well and prevents people from speeding around where these cameras are set up, which is the entire point of the speed cameras in the first place. I don't see how a system like OP suggested can be implemented without it leading to abuse by players to get any speed camera fine voided.
  18. I understand your frustration, but what is the alternative you purpose? What happens if Player A steals Player B's car and joyrides it around stacking 100,000$ in fines? Would this seem ''fair'' to you?
  19. I think these interactions can be had in plenty of other places like burger shot, while the interaction might be good, the majority just head to impound, spam /release (even calling 911 sometimes) and wait for someone to come release their car. And this is when there is someone taking impound calls, must be x100 worse being a player on early EU with 70-100 players and barely any on-duty police. I don't think most officers like doing impound duties and I don't think most players like waiting for their cars to be released.
  20. This is exactly why development should be focused on script features that enable the type of roleplay you're mentioning. For example, it is mind boggling to me that in the several years of this server being up, we don't have: Shared business bank accounts that enable basic accounting/management for player ran businesses. F4 like menu but for player ran businesses where employees can be hired/fired/promoted, business vehicles and properties can be set up with relevant permissions, etc... A more interconnected economy where things don't just ''spawn'' from nothing (Example: Having truckers transport mechanic materials to LSC/Bayview from the docks) An item creation system that enables players to make their own items (provided RP is done and prior approval has been established through the forums), allowing players to set image of the items that would show in inventory and effects (if any) of the items. (Example: Player purchases and builds a restaurant and uses the item creation system to create custom dishes to sell, making each individual items from different businesses unique in their own way as opposed to just ''RP'ing'' it.) A basic street racing system that enables creation of tracks, creating race lobbies, setting buy-in values and payouts for races, etc... These are just a few of the top of my head suggestions that would largely enable players to take control of their roleplay as opposed to something that would be a ''one off'' update that would lose hype in a couple of months. Now, can you TECHNICALLY, do most of these with pure RP ? Yes, of course, but it's not something that should be the ''norm'' in a server with this size and while some players might be overly dependant on script features, I think that it's disingenuous to characterize most people as reliant on these features. Instead, I would argue that it's a reasonable expectation for a GTA RP server in 2022.
  21. It might, but then those people will be promptly banned, no?
  22. +1 Remove it completely, kinda weird having 90% of server using masks, but I get why they do it. Hopefully this would fix the issue. I'm sure people are capable of remembering people with a combination of common attire, voice and how often they hang out.
  23. Meh +1 with a trial period, change things during 1 month, see how it works out in combination with HEAVY IC charges for people found with police equipment and go from there. We can all speculate about how things might turn out, why not just give it a go, seems like a fairly innocent change that in all honesty any other RP server has in place. I would also recommend making armoury /fl clothing items only. And having a single point in the armoury of Mission Row where weapons can be retrieved, these weapons should also be actual items that are then placed inside the cruiser inventory by Officers, instead of the usual RP to retrieve weapon, /fl to take out weapon. This way the only RP that needs to be done is getting the initial gun out of the armoury when someone heads on shift, using the existing inventory system to withdraw/holster weapons. As for the argument of people going out and killing cops for gear, surely this would be covered other non-RP and thus punishable according to server rules.
  24. bump please remove the cleaning system until a suitable replacement is added. Paying more than an engine repair so that my car will get dirty after 20 mins driving on normal roads is not good. A new system should perhaps make use of the cleaning booths (opposite Mega Mall) or the automatic cleaning that Weazel Gas Station has or the car wash next to strawberry clothing. But more importantly, make the effect last a long time and if this isn't possible due to the game limitations then just keep it removed.
