  1. I find it hilarious how long this suggestion has been going and it's still not been put in.
  2. +1 - I think I even actually liked the old phone more but the interface of this one reminds me of one of those toy phones you have as a kid. You look at other servers and their phones are so important to connecting players across the map, for us.. it's the odd text, a bit of money transfer and calling a taxi.
  3. The shortest answer to why this is a -1 that I can give is that anyone in the community that has the know how, experience and proper judgement to do something like this and not have it end up like another fucking shit show are already in the these factions to begin with. I don't count myself as one of them people either. Not enough good quality, consistent role-players that are not otherwise in other factions and doing other shit to make something like this work and we don't need another faction shoehorned in that doesn't work as intended.
  4. Take it easy there Johnnie Cochran. Things like basing actions on IRL counterparts means exactly 0 if you're forgetting the sort of player base you have, playing what is only a game, thus the "play" in roleplay. You need people that are experienced in law enforcement from doing it for a lengthy period of time, not just people that watch a couple episodes of Law and Order and do a Google Search. In Eclipse, what it boils down to, for most players is, if system benefit me, system good. If system no benefit me, system bad.
  5. LSPD's Internal Affairs is lead by someone with over four years law enforcement experience on Eclipse and is also a senior administrator. Before that, it was lead by the person currently running the faction who themselves has over law enforcement experience on Eclipse. They are overseen by a head administrator with over five years law enforcement experience on Eclipse, was the faction leader since 2020 until recently and that person, I mean to be fair, they're overseen by Lewis but still. Frankly, there is no more qualified people in the community than those three individuals to access this situation. I know we'd like to think that because the Judicial Branch is the law faction and they are independent of PD that they automatically the foremost authority and experts but give me Kris, Pazz and Silky overseeing that any day.
  6. The mapping will look better with your shadows turned back on Amir.
  7. Personally, I wish the same energy that went into asking cop factions to do extra things was something that the community had for the other side of those interactions. I'm all for this, if it's going to lead to better roleplay but, if we're going to end up doing this and people just get up from being tased and shake it off like they're Taylor Swift, I can't see it being a viable and worthwhile change. This is only my personal preference, might be a part of PD but i'm only speaking for myself when I say this (because I don't want to get into the shit on this one) but I care more about what actually goes on in the server than whether something is simply true to real life or not at this point. Eclipse isn't real life and I think trying to make it too realistic is part of what blurs the lines with other stuff. So, it's very much for me, what is right for the the server? Is this an entertaining game mechanic? Does this lead to something positive? Is this worth the effort needed to make it work? I feel like this is somewhat going through the motions. Your voice doesn't just randomly give out when you've been talking for 15 minutes in real life, you don't need to press a button while running to make yourself audibly louder in real life. I don't want to see cops getting into more /b with crims because they needed to voice reset or the audio streaming distance fucked them. Or, even in an older character's age, claiming they just simply couldn't hear it. Simple fact is, young or old, everyone has the same capabilities in the game so we shouldn't treat anyone different based on how they've dressed or aged their character. Best believe, you cross that line where force can be used, I'm making grandma feel 22 again with that taser.
  8. Maybe I'm a little simple but isn't the point of the tracking for gov factions, because it's their job? Being a criminal is more a way of life, no?
  9. Just sounds like gear fear to me. The same mentality that made people upset when they couldn’t cook drugs safely in their apartments. If the crim side of things is suffering, it’s nothing to do with the raids. It’s to do with the support from the script, the rules and the mentality of the criminals. Raids are just an IC consequence of something. Move your stash around, don’t keep too much stuff in one place, only buy what you need to use there and then etc.. Not ‘no mr policeman take it easy on us and let us keep our illegal stuff in our houses. ‘
  10. Perhaps you shouldn't horde all your illegal items in a residence with your name on when you are regularly conducting serious criminal activities? I'm not sure standing around for fifteen minutes, roleplaying blowing up safes with explosives or gaining entry to a house is "peak roleplay" but it's a necessary part of investigative roleplay. In some senses, it's not that enjoyable but it's necessary. Perhaps instead of suggesting that law enforcement is limited, think and be smarter in what you do with your assets. Don't make it so easy.
  11. Thanks, I dunno whether to do a part three because there’s a lot of other good shit
  12. I think personally, if I wanted to stand in a group full of screaming people, all trying to get their point across at once and get the other side in trouble without any proof to then finally make a decision and then have to defend that decision again down the road because someone else is unhappy with the outcome, i'd be a staff member. Easiest and cleanliest way to do it is to some how witness a crime or have the script tell you that it took place. I'm sure there are cops that would love to delve into more investigative questioning if it lead to an arrest but we play on a "hurry up and jail me." server. Nothing wrong with that but if we've got fast food criminals, we need fast food cops too.

    Civ RP is dead

Server suffers from a lack of cohesive development and when I say development, I don't mean just script additions. I mean anything from the scripting to the mods to the rules the staff team come up with to the server events to the factions and how they behave. Development suffers somewhat from being absent from the actual playing experience. Staff try really hard and I don't envy them at all but there's far too much of people pushing their preference on a player-base that from what I see needs something completely different. I don't know who looked at our player base and thought, take the NCZs away from police and hospitals, what could go wrong there? I don't know who looks at our report section and thinks, lets start punishing the players that just tell people to do things, as well. In an era when development requests have never been so high, I'm not sure who looks at the injured state and things, you know what we need? Blood FX. It's not like I have all the answers either, some of the stuff I've put in or want to put in is probably counterproductive as well but at least my approach is appeasing as many people as I possibly can, because I understand that this community is only maintaining the size that it is, because of the success it's built for itself in the past when it was focused, the lack of a viable alternative server and most critically, the almost blind loyalty and faith that players such as myself continue to show in the server. Sometimes you have to take a step back, to go forwards again but no one seems to like admitting they've made a mistake. I think if the server is focused on making cops and crims happy as the OP suggested, I don't think it's doing a great job and if civilians are even more side-lined then I really feel for them.
  14. We have about six more spots for Legion Square, if there are any business owners out there.
  15. Is there any one else interested in this? We're still short on some spaces!

    Civ RP is dead

To tell you the truth, I couldn't honestly tell you where the focus is anymore, we're all a bit all of the place. I look at the experience of being a cop and listen to some of the opinions of my own faction members and could quite easily make a similar thread to you Checkky, about how being in PD feels. I'm sure there are crims who could likely do the same and there would be a fair bit of merit to what they say. I've been here for about 4 and a half years now and I have to be honest with you, I still think it's a server that works best as cops v. criminals as opposed to trying to really cater to other types of roleplay. I look at the quality of roleplay available, I look at how tribal everything gets between factions and I think it's just a natural fit for any GTA RP server to focus on bad guys and good guys. Civilian RP struggles to find its place, because there isn't a framework and importance on things like character customisation and character development. There's a lot of just playing yourself or if they do delve a little bit, they realise it's probably not to their advantage to go too deep with it when a lot of the fellow players just care about whether a situation goes in their favour. I got all the respect for people that don't want to be in a crim faction or don't want to be in law enforcement but in terms of what it does for the server, I think focusing on improving crim and cop does more for this server than civvy RP.
  17. Brother, the way things are going for law enforcement on the server over the past couple years, I ain't sure what you want lmao
  18. Weazel did exploit that in-character, which is why I added it. You're not wrong for doing it, but you've used what has come from this in-character. That said, if we'd had time to adequately adapt or any of our requests had been granted, then our vehicles wouldn't have been broken into. I think everyone can agree it's really not good roleplay to rob vehicles at a police station but in the absence of the NCZ, it has happened anyway and its now effecting roleplay. As for @Ash's comment, with all due respect, there is a reason why every government faction parks around their HQ, including all the factions you have been in. It's convenient. Running back and forth to Legion Square at the end or start of your shift isn't convenient, for any faction including MD and PD who are the closest. I don't want to get bogged down in the Weazel thing and lose sight of what is important. This NCZ change might have fixed one issue but it's caused others and I'd like to suggest changing it how I said in the initial post so those issues do not persist.
  19. Weazel hasn't done anything wrong in that sense but at the same time, it's something that has come about as a result of this when it previously wasn't a factor. Had we received the faction parking we wanted or been able to lock our gates at the time this was changed, it wouldn't have been an issue. This is one of the issues that came from this change.
  20. As we're all aware, there has been a trial of an lessening of restrictions of No Crime Zones and while the original post claims they were made for a different environment. I think what has been very clear is that there is still a section of our community that if they have the opportunity to do something stupid, they will. This was evidenced most publicly by people starting shootouts inside Pillbox, which a head administrator had to intervene in on but since then, individuals have broken into vehicles at a police station and stolen vehicles. Dropping off bodies at Pillbox is also a dicey proposition as you have to unlock a vehicle to open the trunk, leave the trunk open while you retrieve the body on timer, drop the body on a timer and close the trunk / lock the vehicle. Individuals have used that as an opportunity to do stupid things and while the staff team might say report it, the simple fact is, it's a real inconvenience at times to do so because there has to be an investigation and you can't simply go about your business as you would normally. The hospital would be full of witnesses. the PD and SD, in roleplay, would be full of heavily armed cops. More situations that require staff intervention are not good and it's created a situation that Weazel News have exploited IC, where PD vehicles have been broken into. Reality is, without the NCZ, Mission Row has the largest collection of high end cars in the server, that can be robbed so inevitably, people are going to be drawn to doing dumb shit there and clearly not understanding that they shouldn't. I can appreciate the reasoning behind the change, in that we don't want to give individuals a safe zone to flee to but this change has in my view, been like putting a thumbtack in with a sledgehammer. So, rather than removing the NCZ script support from these locations, just simply state that if you take an active situation into an NCZ, you can be dealt with as if the NCZ doesn't matter. So if you are fleeing into an NCZ from someone trying to rob you or kill you, they can still continue that action. The reality is that, in the absence of the requested faction parking at legal faction places or a script that allows the direct removal of bodies from a trunk (like coroners) have, this rule change creates as many issues as it solves and in that sense, this is not a good trial. Additionally, instead of removing the NCZ around police stations and hospitals, remove it around the banks instead. Because #1, most individuals do not really carry cash on them any more. #2 individuals use these areas as safe parking zones (I know, i issue tickets like a motherfucker). #3, robbing the Pacific Standard Bank in Los Santos itself would be a completely different experience for everyone than the Fleeca Banks which are the same.
