right so, lets back up here. 1. how did you rp breaking out of the cop car window specifically? even average car windows are really hard to break by design. they are not single panes of domestic glass. they have a thick plastic film halfway through their glazing to absorb shock from blunt objects and impacts. this is standard across the industry. you might be able to crack em. but break em to the point you can slither out? no way...not without tools. the exception to this is the rear window, which you would not have access to from the inside of a cruiser. 2. how did you manage to do this from the inside of the vehicle, presumably cuffed. did you headbutt? kick? if you are going to be specific about the attending LEOs wording then you also need to be critical of your own. 3. like i dont think its out of the realm of possibility to say that a police cruiser has reinforced back windows to contain unruly arrestees. i'm not in law enforcement but i'm sure this is something thats common. yes, we could go back and forth on if they had "bars" but thats grasping at straws and not really relevant. finally and most importantly. i think its good practice that once youre inside a cops car, you shouldnt be able to free yourself without outside help. this frees up the LEOs to inspect the scene, carry out paperwork etc without having to constantly watch you. even if you did get out, youre cuffed. what are you gonna do? run until you get tazed? how would that create more run rp? LEOs versus Criminals is not supposed to be a fair fight. the criminal will always be on the back foot and, speaking as someone with no LEO character, im fine with that.

i have seen this done on a Red Dead server. essientally how theirs works is a small fdo that follows the player, the player chooses what it says. its normally used to either comment on physical attributes or emotional state. for instance "heavily pregnant" or "visibly disturbed" etc. some players would take it a step further with things like "missing an arm." i liked it. it adds a uniqueness to roleplay which can sometimes be lost in the city as we are all of uniform height, build, and 4 or 5 hairdos.

It would be a fun item for civs to have, would make taking pictures alot easier...but for crims it would be a must have. the ability to accurately identify people at great distances would change alot of encounters.

Ability to transfer BITCOIN Apartments
Quietthecutie replied to Zach Fernando's topic in Game Suggestions
+1 Wouldnt affect me personally but it makes sense. if we are cool transferring cars over, why not apartments? players can be more flexible with their hard earned bitties and the server gains an additional revenue stream. everyone wins. -

Bump, once again, sat waiting for 30 mins for an impound release. this is the opposite of fun and interesting roleplay. it makes you want to log.

So as it stands the forum does have a section for announcing your events, but its only receiving limited use and is a pain to try to trawl through. its also more used to try to advertise than plan. There is no worse feeling than going through all the preparation for an event only to find out, sometimes just hours before its due to start, that you've double or even triple booked over different events by different orgs, limiting both the turnout for all events and events to do about in the city without missing out on others. My suggestion would be to set up some kind of virtual calendar, googles is pretty good, that all organisers can use and place bookings on. no restrictions on where you can put your events date and time but at least it will let you know if you are double booking, clearly and concisely. and have this pinned to the events section.

+1 Its also kinda entry level crime? low payout. the risk should be appropiate to the resources someone hitting an ATM would typically have.

and its absolutely horrendous. thing glitches out all the time. plus the cultivator (rake trailer) is significantly smaller and travels slower than an actual semi trailer. the Cultivator basically works as an item without wheels hitched onto the back of the tractor, hence the immense scraping noise you hear when pulling it. it does not function the same way as a trailer would. I enjoyed your presentation and agree with your points but, as above has said, its not technically feasible currently.

im kinda on the fence with this one. On one hand, yep, rply makes perfect sense that you can hide a sidearm under any shirt that isnt skin tight. On the other hand, unless they are scriptly hidden i.e the game is coded so sidearms go invisible when equipped with the right clothing, both LEOs and other players can still see the sidearm even if they cannot acknowlege it icly. this leaves us open to situations where players plan situations and gunfights based on OOC knowlege. this would be impossible to moderate. Perhaps an interesting middle ground would be to only have smaller weapons like SNS and Combat pistols be hidden. this would both make more sense than someone trying to hide a .50 in their jeans and also give those often neglected weapons a place in the game.

Simple suggestion to add a hotkey to start fishing if you are near water and have a rod in your inventory. basically removing the small but incredibly repetitive annoyance of having to constantly go back and forth into your inventory, right click your rod and click "use." just wrap all that up into one button pls. K would work well as this is the same button to reel in a fish.

Change Picklocking and Hotwiring Difficulty
Quietthecutie replied to Puzzling's topic in Criminal Suggestions
ive felt this too, but again, i feel this is a good thing, if youre jacking cars to chop em, ok fair thats just you making bread. but if youre picking player cars thats you doing it for the thrill/itsacoolcar/you have a beef with the player. therefore it should be a challenge to get into that car. -
Internal Affairs with PD & SD and Non-Roleplay

-1 I read this then needed to read it a few more times to make sure I had the drive of it. To be clear, and anyone can stop me if they think this is wrong, but IA reports are for IC grievances for IC actions of LEOs whilst on duty. they are a check and balance for the significant powers granted to LEOs, we agreed on that? ok. Then asking this to be handled oocly by faction management...completely moots the point of IA...if complaints are able to be totally disregarded cus this characters filed multiple complaints before that came to nothing. leaves a dangerous precedent that career crims just get ignored by IA because of their IC career choice and character traits and from an IC perspective why would crim management ever not side with their guys. makes no sense... -
i'm not saying its a copy paste job, but i would imagine a lot of existing code could be repurposed. as i said, the QoL vs effort to implement seems heavily to the good, unlike some of the more outlandish suggestions you get on the forums. if you have anything solid to the contrary, id love to hear it. it appears we agree that it would be a good change to the server, and this is a place to suggest such things.

Its not groundwork, tho. It would be a code very similar to the one already used by Mors. vehicles are inaccessible to owners, Require money to become accessible again. seems like a patch job to me. not something that would require much dev work. Stop me if i'm wrong... To my untrained eye it seems like the QoL improvement vs the time to implement would be beneficial.

Maybe we can just cut the human intervention part out completely and just RP with ourselves. "R u havin a bubble bath my son?" I am 110% behind keeping RP interactions as open and organic as possible but pointing to impound release as an example is like pointing the the NHS as an example of good public healthcare... Best case scenario is the LEO shows up within 30 minutes, tersely asks which car, sits at the "PC" for a minute, car spawns, he leaves. thats best case. the worst case is despite sirens blaring throughout the city, no one takes the call. now the LEO don't wanna be there, the crim dont wanna wait there, theres no fun being had, theres certainly no RP being enjoyed...why not automate it? we are fine automating speeding tickets, we are fine automating Mors. That said, all the other suggestions you have sound real nice.

Question, would i be allowed to wear a fanny pack, along with a backpack, along with the existing duffel bag so i can stagger about the city looking like an astronaut on moving day?

The Mechanic Issue and the OOC Implications
Quietthecutie replied to Herbo's topic in Civilian Suggestions
Just gonna clarify that i thought it was a language barrier problem because what you said made 0 sense. thus, i thought you misunderstood me. "and isn't boring to everyone just because you say so." it isnt just me saying it though.... the mechanic shops struggle to hold onto people for primarily this reason. you found a bit of pizza in your car? congratulations, that sounds like fun rp. my question would be how often that happens compared someone in a mask driving in and just yelling repair at you before shoving his license in your face. you cant cherry pick this kind of stuff, from an objective point of view the "primary loop" of the mechanic job is boring. you cannot sit there and tell me in your heart that you find macroing/typing out the exact same thing every time, fun. yes, other jobs have parts of them where they do this too, LEOs giving tickets for example. but LEOs get to patrol and chase people down, get into gunfights, standoffs, process prisoners, and more besides. I wouldn't even say roadside counts anymore either, because unless its a preplanned event the only time ive seen roadside actually out and about in the city is during peak time on a saturday night if even then. because you need 2 mechanics active in shop before a third can be cleared to do roadside, and its a rare day indeed when I see 3 mechanics working in LSC these days. When they "killed the pier" so to speak, the mechanic shops ever so literally became the new social hubs. which between the speed limits imposed at the pier coupled together with the new "stop do not enter" signage around LSC we appear to be trying to kill off as soundly as we can...also ECRP isn't a nation state. it hasn't been around long enough for you to accurately predict the future based on past events. so this weak ass "things will go back to the way things were if we just do nothing." mentality doesn't ring true. -
Jeeze, great point. +1

The Mechanic Issue and the OOC Implications
Quietthecutie replied to Herbo's topic in Civilian Suggestions
....what? Gonna presume this is a language barrier thing but you seem to be agreeing with alot of what i said. "because I enjoy the different aspects of what is possible." Some Examples? from my point of view when I worked as a mechanic the job was repetitive and monotonous as hell. the only fun came from the social aspect which applies to all jobs. what different aspects? besides doing mods or repairs the only real variance of gameplay is Roadside but with so few mechanics getting roadside out is rare as heck and its never for parking violations, only for callouts. "To be perfectly honest, very few care that you enjoy doing that RP and even less notice that you enjoy doing it." This isn't a counterpoint, its core to the problem. if the RP has reached a level where neither the person doing it nor the person receiving it gives a shit, its just busywork for the sake of it. compare this to say, the duties of someone in MD, or PD, or DOC. all of those jobs have opportunities for RP that is varied, interesting and above all, Organic. with parties able to take RP in multiple directions. Mechanic jobs dont have that. The only saving grace the mechanic job has its its low entry barrier. its a job that basically anyone with a recently clean record can get and requires minimal knowledge of the city, so its a great way for beginners to get to know the city. unfortunately, this is also one of its biggest problems as its seen as a "beginner" job. once people get comfortable with the city and how it operates, most tend to move on. -
The Mechanic Issue and the OOC Implications
Quietthecutie replied to Herbo's topic in Civilian Suggestions
Well Hecc this blew up. If we are talking about root causes, I have to agree that mechanic jobs are among the most boring/irritating. I do not think its a monetary issue. Mechanics already make bank. they don't need a raise. they make about as much as any government employee. Also I don't think this is a problem with mechanic high command. certainly they do as much for their factions as other commands do. sometimes more. and perhaps we should look at the rate of turnover of high command as just another section of "people leaving cus this job aint worth it." The problem, Is that its a job that constantly requires you to do repetitive, boring work. there is no fun to be had here. no variety. dudes roll in either wanting a repair or mods and you do the exact same thing every time. even if the well meaning mechanic tries to spice it up with their roleplay, no customer gives a shit so its completely one sided. might as well be roleplaying with yourself. which is why, as previously said, 95% of mechanics just macro it out. The focus must be on improving the variety and appeal of the mechanic job. be this in amongus minigames or some other way. Cars are so vital to any GTARP server and the fact we are struggling to service them at times is frankly embarrassing.
