  1. yea the app definatly needs updating, I always had this idea: So for the ppl using TTS to 'read' these: - I would remove the 'Free Drivers' counter as it doesnt update when drivers are 'on the way' with the customer, it only updates when a driver accepts a taxirequests and is on the way to pick him up, ariving at the customer marks the driver as 'free' but then he still needs to drive to the location. - Replace the pictures on the left with either updated cars or just generic themed icons since the fleet updates now and then. - replace the shuttle with Electric, we havent had the shuttle in our fleet for over 2 years, we made a big point IC in taking on more electric cars and we have 4 now. - Remove the counters on the right next tothe 'request' button, these only update when a driver is in the vehicle and only when its the specific vehicle displayed in the image, taxidrivers spend most of their 10-9 time outside the taxi socializing and a big red 0 next to the request button demotivates people from ordering a taxi or requesting a special one. this has been proposed ic aswell and could all be fixed fairly easy -i think- by changing whatever textures this uses. Im sorry Damian but I don't like that idea, I understand the pros but I have played on servers that have that and I can show you a typical conversation between taxi and customer there: -customer gets in-, driver: "hey man, how you doing?" -...- driver: "uhhm okk, where do you wanna go buddy?"-...- driver: "sir?" -...- customer: "man i put it on gps" I get that people say "oooh but uber has gps" but we dont roleplay uber we roleplay a taxicompany. This is a great idea, I would love to see some sort of que system but it would need to track when taxidrivers are 'on the way' with the customer, contrairy to how the app works. On some other ideas: Live tracking: idk how i feel abt this, its not really up to us to go look for the customer after they move, this would just make it more difficult for us i feel. Its also a bit unrealistic imo. Canceling the request: a customer can cancel a request failry easy by running 10-15 meters but a taxidriver needs to relog i think for the call to become available again. A way to cancel a request would be good from our side but I can see this being abused by people wo dont want to drive to paleto so I would rather not see this implemented. Blacklist script system: so this would make our lives easyer but i actually dont want it, from our side: people forget to check it, they get into funny situations and we get to barrade them for it. from the blacklistee side: characters get blacklisted for a reason, if they are unsure if they are blacklisted or why, they will try to find out, creating funny situations.
  2. +1, back when the speakers were first introduced, they did work for bikes
  3. I know that the playout is effected by the time of the machine you are playing on, if your windows is 1min behind on the atomic clock, the song will play 1 minute later (for you, this is relevant for everyone hearing the song) I found out about this years ago and my songs play when i do the command so this isnt the issue. This could effect who hears it when though and could also be the reason for the lack of sync. I notice it stopping for some people at the same time and remains playing for other people but then it might switch ther next song. I have songs who cut early and songs who dont but it doesnt seem to be relavant to the songs. so yea no clue it worked well before the last update when this bug was posted.
  4. again, as i said in my previous comment, your proposition is already in place, no available taxidrivers, citybees are available, available taxidrivers, citybees are not available. The script makes taxidrivers "unavailable" when they took a call and are on their way there, to make citybees always available would decrease the amount of roleplay available for people in our faction. some players don't really see the roleplay value and then they will propose stuff like this or repair kits or automated impounds but at least IMO those things dont fit a semi realistic roleplay server. I get it, its easy to just +1 an idea you think would make your life easyer but you have to think beyond your own needs and think about how it would better the server.
  5. People like to work when the server is quiet and have fun with their friends when the server is busy, thats why peak hours have less drivers, every other faction has this same issue. I know this makes it so services aren't available during peak hours but everyone is free to join any faction and help relief that. The restrictions around citybee usage was put in place to entise people to use the taxiservice as it holds more roleplay value. The thing about your proposition is that its already in place, when all the available drivers are busy with a call, citybees are available. They become unavailable again whenever a taxidriver is free, I think this is plenty and its already being abused. And for new players city bees are always available. I hear some people complaining about not being serviced and that they think people are salaryfarming or ignoring their calls but from what I can see, people don't keep in mind that there are also other players who order cabs and most players will cancel their order after less than a minute (most cancel after seconds). If there are drivers on duty, they will come get you eventually.
  6. Date and time (provide timezone): 09.30 ish pm utc Character name: Tom_Solar Issue/bug you are reporting: /dragout works for moving or locked vehicles Expected behavior: /dragout to only work in specific situations Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: In the video below you can see /dragout being used in 2 abusive ways, first on id 51 with a locked car and then on id 3(pov) with a moving car. This has been the case for a week now give or take, most people just use it to joke with friends but as you can see its also being abused to help with criminal rp. also a very important exploit! spamming the /dragout command a second time, forces the person out immediatly, even if they win the skillchecker. https://streamable.com/flxs6v Vehicle license plate number*: /
  7. its not true? those damn liars dont hate me asbo, they tricked me!!! I'l remove that part then
  8. This is so true, in many cases seeing the abuse mechanics in both companies need to endure and swallow, as a taxidriver you can deny someone service drive away and blacklist them but at the mechanic shops even if they blacklist them, they are still stuck with them in or around the building. I feel like with alot of people, their ooc toxicity leaks into their roleplay. omg kellie, you refill the radiator BEFORE you fix the puncture?!?!? thats nrp right there for real though, i feel like most of them are still copy pasting stuff, most of the time when I come in with the mechanics I will tell them what is wrong with the car but they always default back to the radiator/sparkplug rp, I think macros should be alowed, you could maybe even have a couple depending on the situation and when more specific rp presents itself you are still able to /me whatever you like. I dont think a "repair kit" is a good idea, people will jsut drive around with one of those in the trunk and keep repairing their car back to 350hp everytime they crash without ever going to a mechanic shop, i do agree with an automatic repair if no mechanics are on duty. Honestly I dont see what the problem is, I'm seeing just as many people on duty at lsc as at bayview, maybe spiking/dropping during some timezones but most of the time theres like 1 or 2 mechs in either of the shops. The problem is with all the legal companies, even though the server doesnt really have a drop in population like last year around the same period, all the legal factions are having trouble hiring, I speak for DCC and I'm sure the others have the same issue, this is why most factions are lowering or forgoing minimum hour requirements all together (which is pretty lazy imo). I said it before but its just weird that on a server with 300+ ppl, maybe 20 of them are playing a whitelist job. There is a reason why people shoose not to rp them, maybe there is a salary issue, maybe we are getting payed too little compared to freelance jobs. I know people exaggerate when they say garbage makes 14-20k/hour but realistically why would anyone go work for a legal faction for half? I know true roleplayers don't care about the money and thats true but thats not a reason for a CEO from a citywide company responsible for 60-70 people to make WAY less than someone who places cones. Maybe raising the income somehow will indeed attract ppl who are just in it for the money but it will create respect for the position and give companies the oppertunity to be selective in their hiring process. I've been opposed to salary on comission but maybe there should be a system where people get payed an hourly wage to back up lower pop timezones/ppl playing managerial roles + a comission based "small" bonus per job done.
  9. I know its cringe and I'm kinda stuck in the 2010s but fuck it, I want /anim dab
  10. send offers 332-4135
  11. What I was trying to make clear in the previous post is that this quoted section simply does not happen, what you describe is called salaryfarming, its a rulebreach and any whitelist faction pays heavy attention to this, if you do notice anyone doing it, I advise you to report them to an admin or on the forum. I can understand that you feel that way when you're on the receiving end but from what I can see, your request not being taken before you cancel it is not because people are "standing around and passively collecting salary chatting." This statement is also very disrespectful towards the players who are still serving you non the less, I would advise you to experience a whitelist job before making such an assumption.
  12. Back when I started playing taxirp, the starting wage was 4000/hr, even though the economy was more or evenly bloated as it is today. That was pulled up IC as most factions were doing the same to pull more trainees, even though troughout all that time the maximum someone like a ceo could earn was the same as today. Salaries do go up btw as you rise trough the ranks and there are different bonusses aswell. I know that back in the day, taxidrivers (and i presume other jobs aswell) were payed on commission. That was changed to an hourly wage, I dont know exactly why but I can imagine the following reasons: - Payment on comission is unfair towards players who cover lower pop hours, less customers less money - Payment on comission is unfair towards characters who rp management roles, at least in DCC's case i know that everyone inclusing management takes calls but sometimes management members are roleplaying management work, depending on the work available, this can take up a large portion of their time on duty. - Payment on comission creates competition, like you mention at roadworkers people attack eachother for taking their "jobs", wile this is a DM breach sure and I expect people in a whitelist faction to behave better, it will cause some players to take ALL the jobs and leave non for the rest. Is there a problem with the wages, yea there is, sometimes theres 300+ players on and id be surprized if more than 15 are roleplaying a whitelist job if you exclude PD/SD. I could stand behind a system where we keep the main hourly wage and then a small bonus, like 25/50% of the cost from the customer. There is also an issue coming from the civilians though, to continue from the example you made, taxidrivers are incentivised plenty to take calls and from what I can see, calls are being taken as mush as possible, some players just dont understand that on a server with 300+ players and only 3 taxi's that sometimes they might have to wait a wile for it to get accepted. A lot of characters actually cancel their request after like 30 seconds without it getting accepted or they will cancel when they see we have to drive 10km towards them. This is the same for any other faction, I see alot of people complain about the mechanics but there is a very large group of the community that chooses to treat mechanics like shit, wether this is coming from a roleplay standpoint i dont know but alot of people like to complain on the forums instead of signing one of their characters up for a faction job themselves.
  13. Date and time (provide timezone): Since this week Character name: Tom Solar + others Issue/bug you are reporting: The audio for songs played on speakers/carspeakers cutting before the end of the song for multiple but not all players. Expected behavior: The audio to remain open troughout the song within the 10 mins limit. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: https://streamable.com/jsvgi3 The song lasts 9 minutes but cuts after +-5 minutes https://streamable.com/pf2p93 The song lasts 3.5 minutes but cuts after 3 minutes https://streamable.com/w04lqu I don't know where in the song this one cuts but you can hear id56 confirming she can still hear it and you can see the song still playing on top of the speaker. All Ids around the speaker loose audio around the same time, you can hear id10 has his audio cut out just a little later than id120. These 3 examples are not rare, I notice most songs cut early since like a week or so. I myself use Willowicks music tool so all the songs I use are tested before and I know they work. I'm aware that your systems time needs to be synced and it is, song play when I use the command. Its not that this is gamebreaking or anything but its definitely anoying
