  1. This would actually be very cool to see.
  2. On a personal level, can you imagine how fun it would be for everyone involved if we actually did that? like imagine that LEOs showed up in Tarvs, Helis, sniper teams etc and actually had a fight on their hands that they could lose? like just imagine the roadblocks, the standoffs, the fun that could be had if the MO for raids was to make them as RP intensive and fun for all factions as possible instead of both sides being involved in this "us vs you win at all costs" mentality. We have added all these cool weapons, vehicles and other items to the game but we don't really take full advantage of them for Ops yet. I think this would be so much more fun and engaging for both sides. as previous stated many LEOs see raids as the pinnacle of their RP experience, why not make it worth that title instead of it basically just being a training exersise.
  3. I do not think this to be unreasonable. Stores and banks are not able to be robbed by criminals if there are not enough LEOs online to investigate/stop them. I dont think its unthinkable to consider that same thing to be a mechanic for raids. Bearing in mind, in a raid, someones property that they worked for is actually on the line, wheras for stores and banks its just a mechanic to stop crims from farming cash in gremlin hours. I would actually consider a min person requirement to be a more pressing concern for raids. It also means that actual god given roleplay will take place insted of just waking up to an fdo on your door and all your stuff gone..
  4. i would love to know where these are.
  5. An actually very interesting and well written read.
  6. My boy spitting fire.
  7. Well shit upon reading the title i was expecting this to be a total shitpost, but the guys actually making some good points. Even for petty things like traffic stops its not uncommon for an additional scout, sometimes as many as 2 or 3 to pull up before the LEO will even get outa their car. and this isnt a 4 stack. its just lil ol' me. to the point it gets kinda ridiculous. in another instance i was arrested for face concealment, not because i refused to take it off, just because i was running by legion square and a cruiser saw me. most LEOs woulda just asked me to take it off (if anything) but man was so starved for RP that he arrested me and took me to mission row for it (note, im am not saying by law he was wrong to do this, i am saying most LEOs wouldnt due to having bigger fish to fry.) Not only that, but he and his buddy cop called for backup before finishing the arrest, against an unarmed civilian without a vehicle... It does seem that the ratio of LEOs to Criminals may be a bit askew. not sure how to fix it. i certainly dont think we should just boot half of PD/SD. but you cant deny some good points are raised. Just not the right soloutions.
  8. I mean if we could toggle it to players choice, that wouldnt be bad. but in my opinion we could better put the manhours required to implement that into more pressing concerns.
  9. +1 Currently if MD come across a body during their duties, if they cant get a mod to despawn it, they basically just have to hide it in a bush which is not very cash money. seeing as the coroner job is stuck in development limbo I see this as a good middle ground.
  10. We dont see 19:00 and do math. we see 7PM. broaden your mind.
  11. -1. servers based in europe, should go by european time interpretation which is almost universally in 24hr format. on a semi related note i find it quite amusing that that some people struggle with it. its not difficult to take 12 away from something, and the more you do it the more second nature it becomes until you dont see a difference.
  12. +1 An interesting idea. I'm certainly all for anything that increases Dev/Player interaction. Of course the frequency would be up to Paulius and the other senior staff and how much time they feel they could dedicate to this, be it monthly, bi-monthly or even quarterly. but i think the positive feedback on todays discussions go a long way to show that its worth doing regularly. and definitely record/stream it. gives the devs a chance to show what they been working on and the community a chance to see/suggest things in real time. bring up what they feel are pressing issues etc.
  13. +1 like the idea. not sure how much it would get used. prolly mostly by MD for quick scene management.
  14. +1. would change the way all orgs communicate. not just gangs.
  15. agreed. in a recent raid all we could do is sit on a hill and watch. there's very little you can do when out of the blue, 2 Tarvs, a heli and a sniper team show up. it also didnt help that this occurred when our faction only had 2 people online. Rply, i know, a raid would come from out of nowhere with overwhelming force. but this is also a videogame. and logging back in to find your property ransacked and items that you probably spent quite alot of time and effort in getting just gone, with no chance of defending them, its not fun at all. particularly when the LEOs risk nothing doing this. perhaps a rule that if a raid is taking place on a factions HQ, that faction must have a certain amount of people online to make defending viable? this would at least mean that the faction being raided gets RP ops during the raid and can have some fun. this would be similar to the mechanic where criminals are not able to hit banks or stores without a certain amount of LEOs in the city.
  16. +1, if only because roadworkers also have it. why not truckers too? they spend way more time with their bum in the seat.
  17. +1. so frustrating when you have 500....items you need to split and cant do this accurately without splitting and stacking multiple times..
  18. Still quite new to the criminal side of the server. but from my experience, theres always large warning signs that you are about to get raided, as many people have already said here, if you are concerned about a raid, spread your loot around more effectively. yeah, it sometimes blows when large chunks of your gear is essentially deleted due to a raid, but isnt that rply accurate to how an illegal organisation would work? cant let known prominent gang members stash gear infinitely...
  19. As i said they just implemented lifeinvader. the chances of them immeadiately working on another social media platform are 0. Youre new to the server and have alot of experiences based on other servers. i get that. and ye, current phone system is barebones. but its probably not a priority right now given that lifeinvader was recently released. it is what it is.
  20. its your choice if you want to break out, but few crimescenes are with a solo criminal. so youll still be picking up the tab if say, 6 criminals are getting arrested. and it would be a chore for LEOs to have to constantly monitor and play around this on top of everything else in scene management. it would be massively open to abuse by criminals delaying a scene. we are still not addressing that problem. and then there is the question of where ambulances fall into this. If you wanna do breakout RP, im all for it. but you should have outside help. this makes it more realistic, because unless you are completely off your bean headbutting a police cruisers window to the point either your skull or the glass breaks, crawling through broken glass, falling headfirst onto the road before simply running it off.... it makes no sense. would be like something out of the benny hill show. it also forces criminals who want to do escape RP to actually have some forethought, planning and investment in order to be able to begin it insted of just saying "F**K it...i got nothing better to do..."

  22. ok, ill give ya some rope with that one. lets say youre right, none of that addresses the mammoth delay/increase in manpower at every crime scene once word gets around that you can rp breaking out of cop cars from the inside, solo. One of the biggest complaints people have about crime scenes is the wait to get them cleaned up and getting people off to MD/DOC. this would only make this take longer if LEOs have to deal with this as well. large crime scenes are already a nightmare to manage without this additional hurdle. Terrible idea.
  23. no to be clear i think the current phone system is scuffed at best. but that wasnt what he was suggesting once he got into specifics, and theres already multiple suggestions for updating the phone system in general to make it function better. im sure its on the to do list.
  24. To put a slight spin on this, I dont have an issue with bodycams being used to RPly review and investigate a situation, be this in civilian or LEO use. I do however believe that what they glean from a bodycam should be relative to distance and what direction the Person is facing. Bodycameras are not a third person camera, hovering 6 feet above our heads that we can rotate freely. they are fixed to the individuals chest most often, meaning that in order for footage to be used in an investigation. the person should be at least facing that direction and within a reasonable distance. Bodycameras rarely have variable zoom, due to them needing to be robust. they are designed to capture footage at close range meaning that if a detail (such as say, a pistol on someones hip.) is further than 20-30 feet away, the camera would struggle to pick that up in acceptable detail. this would go doubly if the person was on the move at the time of the recording, ever watched a found footage movie? all that camera shaking is there for a reason. Then theres people using the third person camera to see over walls, around corners etcetera when their character clearly cannot. using clips like this in an investigation is in my opinion NRP. I understand there is no way to stop players using the third person camera to see things during gameplay, but the sections of bodycam footage that include this should be disregarded in any IC review. To summarise, bodycams are a useful way to investigate an incident and are almost required to speed up investigations and cut through general BS. but i feel like alot of players basically see them as if they have a camera crew following them, not as an actual bodycam.
