Diddern Posted November 30, 2025 Report Posted November 30, 2025 (edited) Repair/Reset gun durability I am one of many players that have suffered from the gun decay system. Whether you're a newer criminal character that have bought second hand guns prior to the update that introduced a way to see maximum perfect condition, or a returning criminal character that has maintained their guns whilst not active. Proposed change As a way to resolve this, I propose that we introduce a durability gain of 80-100% back on all guns to accommodate for the previously very confusing script. Why it should be repaired During the time that decay has been implemented you would have to repair your guns twice in order for them not to fall into the lowest durability range. The previous 50% reduction of the maximum perfect condition was changed to 10%, therefore people that repaired previously twice, to keep your guns from reaching minimum durability suffer a 80% decrease in their weapons maximum perfect condition. Rare guns are now basically rendered useless, people that have maintained these guns suffer from maintaining it, rather than the ones that have had them locked away forever. People that bought guns second hand that was already repaired had no way to track the current state of the maximum perfect condition that the weapon was in. Making newer criminal characters suffer a substantial loss. When the script was first implemented there was a lack of clarity and explaining of how it worked. The people that followed the conversation in #general was mislead by the very limited information given to us. I included the initial proposal of gun durability and decay in the quote below (this is not all the messages as #general is typically filled with spam) Quote Lynks — 08/12/2023 20:48 If guns degraded over time people would stop hoarding and wouldn't mind losing guns as much as they do rn Paulius — 08/12/2023 20:48 damn Paulius — 08/12/2023 20:48 thanks for this HobGoblin — 08/12/2023 20:56 people can still repair them, I think this would only work if you can't repair them and they just break after x ammount of time. That way you are going to lose the gun, either by players or when it breaks Lynks — 08/12/2023 20:58 Guns dont degrade yet, do they? Or what doo you mean they can still repair them HobGoblin — 08/12/2023 20:59 not yet Paulius — 08/12/2023 20:59 if its gonna fall bellow X percentage u wont be able to HobGoblin — 08/12/2023 21:01 gonna make it so they degrade x amount per day aswell? Paulius — 08/12/2023 21:01 yes Paulius — 08/12/2023 22:44 100 days for gun to break down of inactivity HobGoblin — 08/12/2023 22:45 what % will you not be able to repair, that will play a lot into it Paulius — 08/12/2023 22:45 yes 5 prob Paulius — 08/12/2023 22:59 have your300 guns Paulius — 08/12/2023 22:59 just maintain them Whilst I do realize that anything said in #general in ecrp discord is not official. Very little information has actually been provided and the little information that has been provided has been very misleading. In the picture below you can see one Combat MG MK2 that I have maintained during my time away as an LEO main vs one that I never maintained. Left=maintained, Right= never maintained before today. I do believe the script we currently have in place would work great with gun decay. The previous ideas was very good, however with the changes and misunderstanding there has been a lot of people that has suffered. Please read through and let me know of your thoughts. HobGoblin Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 +1 any guns repairs before today are at a disadvantage. I repaired one gun last night that was never repaired and its stuck at 14% now, if I waited to repair the gun today it would be at 91%. Quote
Mrpyth0n33 Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 +1 i repaired ALL my guns after thr first update yesterday and the grey bar was much higher then the condition it went to after i repaired them then after thr sevond update i tried and the guns were stuck at the previous values telling me the gun jas already been repaired to max some being 10% and the grey indication bar showed atleast 80-85 % repairable and my fellow faction members had guns in the same condition but didn't get around to repairing till after the second update and their gund repaired as intended,so i lost money on cleaning kits and on lost guns, recently acquired that looked healthy Quote
tangy Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 +1. Now the system is working as intended it'd be a great idea to start from fresh 100% weapons. A lot of people were punished actually upkeeping their weapons with a system that was unfortunately not working. Great stuff fixing it! Quote
DoubleA Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 +1 - the change was unnecessary to begin with and I think a lot of people echo that, but since we have gone this far down the rabbit role, the info that was given and the way it was relayed to all players was incorrect, instead of just letting it go, should do something that POSITIVELY effects the community and helps keep people here instead of letting the players down! Great thread Mr. Dox!!! Quote
Harley Posted December 1, 2025 Report Posted December 1, 2025 +1 I've never really understood the impolementation of punishing people for having things in their stash during times when we struggle to maintain our core playerbase 2 Quote
Tylerwalk Posted December 3, 2025 Report Posted December 3, 2025 +1 I was gonna write something up similar to this. I think the new update as of 2 days ago is perfect for the guns but the damage done buy the script previously should be reverted. It doesn't make sense that guns that have been sitting red for months are now in better quality then the guns that have been getting constantly fixed over the months. Quote
