Suggestion not a PD vs Crime topic , remove heavies shown on back while in a vehicle

Hi guys ,

This is not a PD vs Crime topic.

I believe brilliant minds can come together and find a way for a heavy weapon not to show on your back while you are in a vehicle. It makes no sense you are sitting on an ak with attachments wile driving.

I am aware this has always been this way , the reduced volume of firearms helped people in storing them in the glovebox, but maybe something else can be done.It would help the criminal base of players to have a different interaction with law enforcement.

Since heavies were made to fit in a glovebox mainly because they were visible in a car, I think they should be made to weigh more so that they don't fit in a glovebox, and then they can become invisible in a car.

Seems like a fair compromise.

That could work as well

it's bit weird though. Imagine officer pulls him over, can't see any weapons on him, driver steps out of the car - officer thinks maybe it's a missclick (happens quite a lot) or as he did not see a gun, officer will not escallate and will not get his out. BAM he's dead from AR, then police will up the force and threat every stop as potential for officer being gunned down (100% this would be the outcome)

Not saying that there couldn't be another alternatives or your suggestion altered, but I disagree with yours as it stands now, we should not be aiming to the point where a cop can't see a weapon, but suspect can pull one out of his arse as he steps out of the vehicle.

i personally think you should be able to search a bag while it’s in your inventory, i see no problem with this. it makes no sense why you have to, get out of the car, open your inventory, drop the bag, then wait for an action timer.

this would actually be a great idea, also there should be auto /me's & /do's for other parties to know you're looking into the bag.

This might honestly be the best solution. Make guns heavier so they dont just magically fit in gloveboxes but still show on your back in a car. HOWEVER you can have them in a bag on you in the vehicle and pull them out of the bag .

Have a timer on searching the bag maybe so you cant magically pop out an AK and would have the /ames over your head or some animation showing you fiddling with the bag

edit* This same system could be used to maybe implement a "gun rack" into LEO cruisers so we aren't always carrying heavies on our back however this would require more changes due to weapons being locked to LEOS and needing to access the FL menu.

If this is the best way to hide the heavies , personally whatever its working just to get it done

I like most of the suggestions here, I personally think the best one is keep heavies vol the same, if you need to put one in a glovebox or whatever, and keep them visible in cars.

BUT PLEASE., make it so you can take items from your bag without dropping it on the ground, a bag should be an extension of your INV, that is easy to move around/transfer, and rn the system where you drop it on the ground etc,. is very outdated.

Yeah, I see what you’re saying. The scenario where an officer lets their guard down because they don’t see a weapon, and then gets ambushed, is a major concern. It could create a situation where every traffic stop becomes super high-tension, with officers immediately assuming the worst. The goal shouldn’t be to make it easier to conceal a weapon, because that could lead to exactly the kind of tragedy you described. We need solutions that prioritize officer safety without escalating every encounter into a potential shooting.

This is why i think maybe the best solution to all of these is just let people search their bag while wearing it. Put an AME over their head of them going through their bag so people know your doing it.

Then just leave guns showing on your back in a car.

dont know why we still need to drop bags on the ground to search them then pickup, would be a nice QOL update, that and being able to split custom numbers

+1 could even make them heavier but invise in car or just implement the backpack that fuses with player inventory can keep the current bags for heavier items that you need to "carry" in hand still but get a backpack script that's maybe also even to player inventory of 50 vol so you can conceal carry some items at least not only against LEO eyes but other crim too that will literally chase you around the map 3 times cause they saw a 50 on your back
