Ways to increase player count in ECRP

More civilian content on the server would be great for everyone and bring a whole load of new RP!

There is already a great suggestion; feel free to add more ideas to it.

Brother I appreciate this but this comment feels like it disregards so much of the discussion being had on this thread 💀

We need you guys to give us a roadmap or just something about this serious issue that the community has been passionately discussing and trying to mend (that being the insane playerbase decline, almost unanimous crim enjoyment complaints that largely contributes to this). I think it would go a loong way if there was a roadmap of incoming fixes/adjustments or even areas of focus that was regularly updated. Just crims seeing that the devs are working on this area or focusing on this would bring a lot of passion and light back to a lot of the playerbase.

Nothing ever, besides for a single random suggestion every once in a while, comes to fruition in these threads.

@ing a dev in general chat in the 2 hour window theyre active after they post a dev update is way more likely to get a dev change than a suggestion thread tbh

Lets talk about it.

I'm not being funny but it's really easy to point the finger at the lack of development by the founders as the reason for the situation the community finds itself in but if we're going to have an honest conversation, the administration team has also let the community down in significant ways also.

What I will say, there still are certain people within the admin team that are still grafting hard and are trying to connect the dots as best as they can to stabilise the community, individuals who if we're being real, the community should depend more but there is too many people in key positions that are either so belligerent to anything that doesn't come from them or that they consider to be a good idea as well as individuals that have long since checked out mentally that are holding up the line for those that still have the enthusiasm.

I couldn't tell you in 2025, what Eclipse is supposed to be, as a server or where it's heading. I got asked yesterday, how long do I think the server has and in truth, barring significant changes to the community both in development and how the community is ran, I would predict a brief increase in players around Christmas time and then a pretty sizeable drop-off the closer we get to GTA VI's release in May 2026.

That is not because GTA VI will be launching on PC and there will be servers for people to play on. It'll be because those people within ECRP that have consoles, will be spending more of their time playing GTA VI than GTA V on that and we can't afford the extra drop in players. It'll then decrease the amount there is to do on the server which then inevitably leads to more people playing less.

In the end we'll be left with those people that will play the community regardless until it stops becoming financially worth it to run and the plug will get pulled.

I don't like people that bitch and don't offer any potential solutions, so in no particular order; Some of these are not my ideas so credit to those whose ideas they are;

  • Improve the Prison. Improve the Prison. Improve the Prison.
Every criminal goes there. We have an entire faction dedicated to maintaining it. A better experience inside prison also means OOCly, slightly less hostility from crims towards cops for catching them OOCly. Allow for scripted prison breaks and for the activities inside to be as rewarding as some of the stuff outside. Not more rewarding so people WANT to go to prison but as rewarding.

  • Continue adding the contents of my Criminal Revival Thread from July.
  • Bring back Old School Fishing at the Pier and make the pay competitive with other jobs.
It was a social hub for the community which we sorely lack currently.

  • Script the Pacific Standard Bank as a Large Scale Bank Heist, to offset Fleeca.

  • Remove City Bees and Repurpose DCC as more affordable/attractive method of transport.

  • Automatic Prison Item Release.
Allow people to retrieve their confiscated legal items when they go to jail/prison themselves from any police station/prison, regardless of where it.

  • Weapons
Weapon damage would be reduced, ensuring that gunfights lasted a little longer.
Weapon imports would be greatly reduced in price but also, guns would have a shorter lifespan overall. Illegal guns would decay quicker than legal guns, to account for their illicit use and availability.

  • Creation of the Police Commission, PD/SD Recruitment Cap and Softer Jurisdictions.
I don't think that we can justify having two fully sized police departments, be as separate as they are, any more. What I propose in short is the creation of a Police Commission with Donnelly, Flores and Kirk as the three Police Commissioners.

They would essentially discuss the development of the two factions and ensure that they are remainly aligned in their objectives. What I think tends to happen with PD and SD is that because they are so seperate but do the same job, the methods and egos can sometimes clash but having a triumvirate of sorts to oversee would ensure consistency across both factions.

Instead of PD taking the City and SD taking the County, essentially the jurisdictions would be almost completely relaxed. PD would still prioritise the City and SD would still prioritise the County. They would also share a radio frequency to allow for easier communication but they would be administrated and managed separately still.

Ultimately, the availability of units now for both factions as a collective is what it used to be for each faction but organising it this way would ensure a more effective response. Everyone keeps their stripes but we adjust more to the changed landscape of the server.

Additionally, we would no longer be reliant on retaining individuals who are no longer contributing to either faction for the sake of numbers and this would be reflected in a cap for each faction, to reduce overall law enforcement numbers but have a smaller but more active law enforcement faction.

The endgame of this, is ensuring we have healthy law enforcement numbers overall but also scaling back the server from how it expanded during COVID, with the County eventually being less patrolled and more the 'Wildlands' again as it was in 2019.

  • Consolidation of Government
SAAA would be closed, it's an over-complication and given the amount of people that use air vehicles in this game, it wasn't worth the squeeze. GSB would either return to it's initial detail of protecting the Government or be closed as well.

JB would scale back to forum based RP only with casework only mandatory from PD/SD's side if the person contests the charges.

  • Return Lewis to Government as the Governor.
This doesn't reflect on Emily as Governor, her performance or her Roleplay. I simply just think that more comes from Langley being the head of the Government, in terms of roleplay generated, than any one else on the server. He was some what of an antagonist on the server and it's important to have those characters as the 'face of the changes'.

  • Scale down Turf Maintenance by 50%-75%.
Factions shouldn't be forced to do stuff as much as they are. They should be allowed to do the things that make them enjoy the server more.

  • Swimming Timers
Add a timer for the amount of time a person can be swimming before they drown, to actively discourage abusing the water.

  • Conditionally Close Cayo Bridge
Cayo Bridge would remain accessible for those doing the trucker job and also, the Government could choose to open/close it at their whim (for things like events and such) but for the regular public, it would remain inaccessible. This would keep people in Los Santos.

  • No Refunds for Losses outside of Server Bugs / Hackers

  • No In-game Admin Reports for Rule Breaks unless it's a hacker.

  • Encourage Attendance and Participation at Server Events, with Server Credits.
Attendance at server events is good for the server but just simply spamming raffles doesn't always do it. So, being at events would tick like salary does and when you meet a certain threshold, you'd receive some credits.

  • Reward positive contributions in the community with Credits and VIP packages.
Say someone creates a really entertaining event or there is a particularly great bit of RP going on or just something out of the ordinary positive in the community. You would be able to submit a request for that person to receive say credits or VIP, as a thank you.

  • Re-evaluate the rules to allow for more expansive opportunities of roleplay.
Putting a strong emphasis on character motivated actions and also, just using some common fucking sense. Common sense is for most of us easy to follow, but you shouldn't be put in a situation where you have to overthink whether or not you're going to break a rule.

  • Unban everyone that has wasn't banned for cheating / DSO / Gross RP in the last 24 months.
They would still be subject to being re-banned if future offences warranted a ban, so their record wouldn't be expunged but it would give a lot of people another chance.

  • Review the current MLOs/maps and remove those that are no longer in use or are a benefit to the community.
I love modding and I've really enjoyed adding stuff for the server but if I'm honest, there are some projects that just don't get any use like the Shopping Mall, some that have performance issues like City Hall and some that I feel take away from the experience of playing like some of the obstacles in the road. I don't see things like the Cinema or Vinewood PD or the Mall having a place anymore if I'm honest.

  • Split the Administration and Support Teams apart.
I feel like the admin and support teams should be split, with equal importance and emphasis be put on both, rather than support staff simply being the footsoldiers or admins in training.

I think there are administrators whose personalities mean they are not really that comfortable or competent at making tough decisions but they're really good at bringing people together, helping the community etc.. By extension, there are also admins that are great at making tough decisions but they are somewhat lacking in the personality department when it comes to how they interact with the community.

The administration side of things would obviously still focus on the enforcement of the rules, but the support side would be given more in-game power to not only assist players by answering questions or hosting server events but things like unfreezing them, resetting their dimensions or even just showing new players around the server.

If you are a new player and you come to the server and you have people willing to interact with you and show you the ropes, you'll want to stay more than a roll of the dice of finding out stuff on your own.

Those are just some of the things, but we know how these forums go, I dont wanna sit here all day listing shit for it to go nowhere.

I think it’s worthwhile noting that silencing members of the community on a forum where it’s meant for discussing COMMUNITY opinion is not helpful in moving discussions forward or increasing player count. It’s actually, in my opinion, harmful, and a poor reflection of the community being fostered. You may not agree with or like someone’s opinion, but if a rule has not been broken I don’t think it’s helpful to censor statements. It’s better to have these conversations out in the open public forum than behind closed doors. Otherwise, what is the point of creating space for honest conversation.

its more than that, its about, how long is someone willing to ignore reality, this is how the worse comedowns manifest in someone's life, we need to learn that friction is a wise teacher, and growth is uncomfortable, the biggest company's in the world at the top office fight like it is normal because through confrontation the most clear choices are made,

glad you share these words, i don't see very often wisdom like this

I think one thing to help is try new things that are easy to implement even if there is a possible balance issue. If it works well keep it..if not remove it and explain why. It feels like small changes take forever to implement and there are so many good suggestions for QOL, RP, faction growth, etc and it feels like it is never looked at or addressed.

I think most players have made their peace that when GTAVI launches, it will result in a massive drop in the community activity, at least for the first 6 months, This even in best case is unavoidable.

what happens after that, idk, i dont think anyone knows. it will be a hard question for staff to answer and atm we have no real forum with them which i think is the biggest problem. No one knows if the staff running and paying for the server wanna rugpull or keep going. because they dont talk.

GTAVI are already coming out swinging with announcements they are partnering with nopixel to bring out rp servers asap on the new platform. I dont really think we can compete with that and dev staffs continued silence only continues to compound that. that the server is on borrowed time. Talk to us, please.

I don’t understand how the server deciding to discontinue in the future would be a ‘rugpull’ ?

Server isn't gonna last forever, something you should come to terms with.

It wouldn't be a rugpull, they've been providing a service for nine years now, that thousands of people enjoyed. Nothing lasts forever.

GTA VI will be a console exclusive anyway, and there is no evidence of an RP server being available at launch. It'll likely take a year until the PC version gets released.

Either way, most people have gotten their fun's worth, calling it a rugpull has negative connotations.

I still think it's not amazing the way we seem to be reaching the end, with little to no communication, false hopes and relayed messages. I think all anyone really wants is transparency.

The server died to me when NBDY disappeared and was replaced by this fraud named Paulius

Kinda crazy so many people are just ready to throw in the towel. As a customer, this is my sign to gather my things and and go spend my time/money somewhere else. GGs

You are not a customer, you're not buying a product. You're meant to be having fun playing a free video game server. VIP/Niobes/etc all of those things are just add-ons. If you don't have fun with the base experience, you should not buy them. If you are having fun and do buy them? It doesn't entitle you to special privileges or consideration.

Any live service game is indeed a product, doesn't matter if its free to play. Thats like saying warframe, destiny 2, or fortnite aren't products.

All of those can issue end of service announcements at any point and not refund you a penny spent

"So many people" arent throwing in the towel, they're just aware that a multiplayer video game is not going to last forever. Same way Halo 3 servers were shut down, DLC was bought and money was spent. You can still play the base game on your Xbox 360. You just cannot play multiplayer.

The thread is about ways in which to increase the player count and we're discussing the end of life of the community. I've been through this before, in the community me and Steel were in before coming here that ran from like 2007 to 2014. Inevitably, for those that said that every community comes to an end, you're absolutely right in saying that because that is the reality.

I'll be honest, I speak to Osvaldon quite a bit about development and the direction of things but in all that time, I don't really get the vibe he's looking to shut up shop, at all really. As an outsider, I think it would be a fair statement to say that the Founders' are perhaps not as excited and invested in the community as they once were when it was at it's zenith but at the same time, they are still here and I can only really speak to Osvaldon since I don't really communicate with Paulius too much, but he's still working on updates.

That reduced excitement and investment is mirrored across the community. A lot of us have been doing this for a long time now. It'll be seven years for me in March. People like Pazz, Lewis, Osborn etc.. have been here even longer. You grow, you change and other things draw your attention away.

For me, there are two possible paths over the next 6 months.

  • One is that we are unable to arrest the decline, either by inaction, incorrect action or just simply it does not work then the server will continue it's current rate of decline until around the release of GTA VI, when interest in GTA V in general takes a big hit (regardless of platform) and the decline is more cleanly felt and the decline speeds up to where the plug is potentially being pulled this time next year.

  • The other path is that we stop the decline by essentially giving the majority of the player base the things they have been asking for. For all the doom talk, this isn't a new decline but we still have the player base we have currently, we still have loyal people here and there is a path to reinvigorate those people to extend the server's lifespan, to at the very least, the PC launch of GTA VI which would probably be in 2027.

I still believe that that second path is possible. Starting with Prison updates and go from there.

Best advice I can give people is just keep an open mind. You don't have to have blind faith, just keep an open mind and be willing to accept the possibility that things could improve.

In your conversations, do you believe Osvaldon is aware of and appreciates the concerns raises by the community as key factors in the decline of the server? It really feels like these simply aren't recognized by the founders on many occasion, or players just feel generally unheard.

Hey y'all! 🙂

I've been having a blast since I've returned and my motivation to play is actually higher than ever but I've certainly noticed a ton of discussion about how low the server population is right now.

Granted server pop is a little low, people can't always expect it to be like it was during peak pandemic.

One major thing I think could totally reignite hype to the server again is to bring back all types of drug tables and allow people to cook indoors again.  I know a lot of people criticized it saying that people only stay indoors and cook all (lab rats) day which in my opinion is totally wrong.  every time you cooked you were risking a multiple hundred thousand if not million dollar operation that you need to water and cool down constantly. you had to leave frequently to refill water and also get more precursor materials all while being stealthy and not letting other crims find out your apt number using the elevator door or following you to standalone house.  you also had to avoid word of mouth spreading to the wrong people as well as betrayals.  if you were able to do all of that then I believe you deserved to have a profitable operation.  and if it blew up the whole city would hear it and rush to it instantly.

It think adding tables and indoor grows back brings more to the server not less.

It gave new players and beginner crims a real reason to play, a 1g apt was 100k and tables were imported for like 10k I think? I think it was a really unique part of ECRP and the main reason a lot of people played.

Now beginners crims have a lot less to focus on I think, 300-400k 1gs and public labs? which everybody loves but I think people really miss the option of starting their own drug empire. I think very few players are going to try and close that economic divide between new and old residents with GTA 6 just around the corner  😛

My interest in the server will remain high and I plan on being around a lot.  I just really think that adding those back would ignite an instant fire on ECRP again.  🙂

And anyone who says no don't bring it back I don't want people indoors all day, what do we have to lose? things are so quiet right now any way? it creates hype, and activity, and economy.  more people doing imports.  more deals in the streets. more fun! >:D

Hope everyone who reads this has a great day out there! Have fun and see you on ECRP y'all!

There are a lot of good ideas in this thread, and we’re reading through all of them. Some of the points from the original post have already been implemented since it was created. I want to make it clear that we have no plans to end anything. We’re aware of the recent decline in player activity, and we’ll continue working to retain both new and current players, and attracting older players back. There are still many highly motivated staff members on Eclipse.

We have an upcoming development and head administration meeting to review the current state of development. I’ll bring up the idea of a roadmap, although I’m not entirely sure it would be ideal given that we only have two founders/developers, both of whom have real-life priorities outside of Eclipse. Meeting deadlines could be difficult, but I agree that more communication about development in general would be beneficial.

We’re also planning a meeting with Senior Administrators to review server rules based on staff suggestions, many of which overlap with ideas shared on the forums. While we can’t control development from a staff perspective, we can still do our part to make Eclipse as enjoyable as possible and continue fostering a great environment for roleplay.

Big list from Xoza of ideas from the past and present.

Since I may not make the meeting, and when I was staff I very much enjoyed participating in sharing ideas. This may include  and repeat ideas from as far back as 2018 from myself or many others.

The first ones are responses from only the original post and while I may not offer opinions on everyone’s, I can be @ or contacted on Discord for thoughtful and analytical input from professional experience, to support, expand, and implement almost anyone’s ideas.

Sorry about how long this list of ideas is, some of them great, others may not be, but the goal is also to inspire and build upon. I tried to put it in order in some way, but it was not very possible as the ideas flowed and I just typed them out.

“DEV” for development needed.

  1. OP: “Developers should put criminal rp first.” >>>Xoza: I disagree, put civilian RP first, then add or promote RP elements for both sides, let players figure out how to crim it up.
  2. OP: “Losen up the ECRP rules. Specifically, DM, Player Theft (player on player, not raids), and Kidnapping. A crim should not need a checklist to kill a rival gang member.” >>>Xoza: I partially agree. You don’t want to loosen it up too much that encourages toxic behavior and discourages orr demotivates other players that may not focus on criminal activity. Citizens should be your target of RP possibilities, and not everyone wants to be forced into things that don’t make a lot of sense. I feel the ratio would be unbalanced.
  3. OP: “Add two more LEO's factions. FIB and State Police. (Dont scream yet crims, hear me out). Currently I think PD and SD have too many people in them, compared to the crim population. I am just making up numbers, as for some reason the LEO's numbers have been hidden in the panel. Let's say PD and SD have combined 250 members. I believe it is better for the server to have 250 members split between 4 LEO factions, not the currently 2.” >>>Xoza: I disagree and I think it was a huge mistake since the beginning, and when the servers were very active. I main an LEO myself so I’ve seen everything since 2018. My opinion has always been to combine all LEO’s into one faction and allow internal branches to be more the focus and RP. This would also allow larger cooperation overall, allow moving around easily internally, and promote oversight and its standards of one ‘faction’ that encompasses all law enforcement.
  4. Create an encompassing Federal Law Enforcement Department that would include Guard, State, City, County, Investigations, DOC, Tactical Response, and any others that could issue charges. Allow easy transition, or even cross training/coverage..
  5. DEV: Limit the amount of law enforcement that can be on duty based on server population. (10%-15% was a great number I observed back in ‘the old days’) If an officer dies, they get kicked off duty for 10 minutes
  6. Any (including crime) faction members can return to a scene after 20 min, and directly participate, knowing whats going on directly. (essentially would be a sort of responding ‘backup’). When it comes to large fights, the goal should be to have one side or the other give up, or approach differently, encouraging further RP, and not just ‘the end’.)
  7. Everyone should be aware of the events of a large fight, rumors travel fast anyone should be able to respond and act to that knowledge, including faction members involved, whether they were involved or not..
  8. DEV: OP: Decrease prison time, or add more things to do in DOC. Add back poker, add other minigames, make the inmate area larger. >>>Xoza: Yes, people need things to do in DOC to earn time off, or money after getting out.
  9. DEV: Prison time should be reduced while offline 1min to 1min. You can stay online, do some RP, earn some time off / or switch to a different character, encouraging continued player activity and options.
  10. DEV: The whole prison area should be open, of course block escape / rooftop areas..
  11. DEV: Add a visible countdown timer somewhere on the screen (this will be used for death NLR and prison time)
  12. DEV: Remove all rules to prison escape, make the charge timers count down only within the prison area and don’t teleport a player back.
  13. Make prison time remaining visible to officers by 10 min increments (and only when online), if it’s observed as not reducing, they can investigate.
  14. DEV: Take fine money at the beginning of sentencing after they finish arraignment form, then only remove/serve charges in order, from the highest and felony’s first to the lowest, as their time is served (add a time left visible to each charge in MDC and visible to the charged (maybe use the arraignment form they can pull up and not edit? Or something like the below to be mentioned.)
  15. Add in rules a “light NLR” to disallow getting out of prison and retaliating right away (unless they escape).
  16. DEV: Add a “record” partial MDC? of charges served. Add checkboxes next to each to allow this player to show only those checked to another player. Like ID’s/badges. Public records IRL exist, and are more easily accessible, this would allow someone to show as well as hide what they’ve done.
  17. Non-violent misdemeanor charges should not be imprisoned right away, maybe all? DEV: Allow players to pay off misdemeanor time or add it to their debt x10? If they don’t serve the time. (a kind of bribery, or work release?) or just serve the time.
  18. DEV: With visible time, allow prisoners to ‘get released’ instead of being forced out. This would allow players in prison, who want to play life sentences, to remain. This would probably be a button in their visible record that becomes active when all charge timers reach 0.
  19. DEV: Show deaths in the last 24 hours, or death timer, in the faction window or current time of last death.
  20. DEV: OP: Make LEO's lootable, or have it so they lose a set amount of money if they die. I know this might be pending and might go in the server, but it is not at the time of the forum post. >>>Xoza: Partially agree, officers should not be a source of something great, or worth attacking, but it shouldn’t be unrewarding. Maybe allow players to ‘collect’ badges and pawn them? Maybe a police firearm parts they can pawn, or rebuild after acquiring several of the same kind and with some cash.
  21. DEV: OP: Add bank statements for people and business. This was teased a while back, but it was never implemented. If added this will be big for RP, between cops, crims, and Judges. >>>Xoza: Why hasn’t this been done yet, easily could be added to the character panel. Maybe make a section in the character panel “IC” and public, and allow sharing (checkbox) certain information, including ownership of things, charges could be stored here as well with timers? As well as bank transactions and timer of last death.
  22. DEV: (from above) Make the player panel public, with optional checkboxes that player can share specific items. Create IC / OOC sections. IC is the only public information share, OOC, is only for the players information, like health, time since last death, all charges)
  23. DEV: OP: Remove pocket money. Make money as a script item. Remove the timer that makes packed money unusable. This will open up RP opportunities. >>>Xoza: Cash should be a physical, stackable/splitable item (like ammo), some people would love to live ‘off the grid’ like this, especially criminal ‘dirty/blood’ money.
  24. DEV: Make home robbery a bit more profitable with items, chance of including firearms, or firearm parts. Balance scratched furniture items give them a choice to take furniture, or just small actual items that would not be ‘scratched’, like radios, GPS, firearms.,
  25. OP: “Decrease time that limits RP for the player, so the player is not standing around doing nothing.” >>>Xoza: Agreed, visible timers for certain things, so players can get back into it as soon as possible. Maybe add a timer/stopwatch ‘app’ to the phone? That would allow more use.
  26. DEV: Make cones and barriers physical items and don’t lock into the ground, but would cause significant damage or ‘tank barrier slow/catch/impair’ a vehicle.
  27. DEV: OP: “Impound lot NPC to release cars from the impound lot if LEO's do not respond in X minutes.” >>>Xoza: Already added? May be room for improvement. Should disallow retrieval if you don’t have an active license, or criminal charges that require serving time. Actually tell players when they call, if they would be able to get a vehicle back or not. “You don’t have an active drivers license” “You have engaged with police too soon” or something?
  28. DEV: OP: “Toolbox to repair cars when cars break down (Dont scream yet mechanics). For toolboxes you could only repair your car to 50 percent health and 50 percent top speed, so you still need mechanics.” >>>Xoza: Already added to an extent, repair just enough to start is it?
  29. DEV: OP: “This is a big ask, but improve the melee system. Make it so we can target people at the least, so we can fight a specific person in a group of people.” >>>Xoza: Yes, melee dodging / fighting is actually really fun and requires skill if you can target and fight the right person.
  30. DEV: OP: “Add a knocked out injury state, where a player losses then regains conscience.” >>>Xoza: Already added, player should also be lootable. Also, firearms should have a slim knockout area first on the one-two round beyond HP or around low HP, that would down them only and create a slow bleed state and lower max HP? Maybe as you lose health, every hit increases the chance you get KOed by the next shot? Then continued fire would obviously go into injured/high bleed state requiring medical. Someone in a low bleed state can still move around, but can’t run and will require self bandaging/care, rest (home/hospital) or in hospital/clinic treatment.
  31. DEV: Add free clinics that could treat injuries over a set time you’d have to stay there depending on level of injury or health lost, once you leave the area, it pauses. This allows players to get treatment, maybe just enough to escape again, and further get treatment later, by themselves or by another.
  32. DEV: Add XP to injury treatment. Higher the XP, the more severe injuries you can treat. Require purchasable supplies for treatments. Earning this XP can be accelerated through training BLS and working hours with MD. (maybe make untrained treatment a minigame with certain success chances?)
  33. DEV: OP: “Add minigames that people can play in game together. Chess, golf, tennis, etc.” >>>Xoza: Chess could be done without dev, if a specific site is promoted to be used. Others Golf and Tennis may be harder to implement.
  34. DEV: OP: “Add an option to conceal weapons on your person. If PD/SD search your person, they 100% find the weapon.” >>>Xoza: Eh.. there really isn’t a way to conceal an entire firearm from being searched, but you should be able to conceal certain firearms, from being openly visible.
  35. DEV: OP: “Add options to scriptly conceal items/weapons in a vehicle. If PD/SD or someone else searches your car, its RNG if they find it.” >>>Xoza: Agreed, DEV may not be required, when searched, it can be RPd and /dice ?: Maybe add a separate inventory section for ‘stash’ or right click an item and ‘hide’ and when anyone (except the owner) looks, it RNGs it and is in that state for that person for 30 minutes.
  36. DEV: OP: “New player retention. Find ways to increase new player retention. We are still getting a fair number of new players in 2025, but they do not stick around. I believe the above suggestions will be a start.” >>>Xoza: Agreed, players need achievable goals and items, as well as money sinks and things to do that are enjoyable for all, Civ, Crim, Gov.
  37. Less Paperwork: don't make faction jobs like real jobs. Only what you REALLY need, and assume more because of a scripted occurrence that ‘something’ is official / documented.
  38. DEV: Add faction logs - Everything that happens, player joins, leaves, pulls a car, puts away a car (fuel level/damage).
  39. Admin: Add property doors to just about every building / door to the whole map / businesses sized and priced based on realistic exterior size.
  40. DEV: Add more scripted businesses to all the business areas that would make sense.
  41. Allow Supercars and ALL other vehicles to be purchasable by some kind of special order that may require a certain group/reputation, connection, server EXP and Job EXP, and of course plenty of money. Order and wait days/weeks for delivery? Maybe background checks.
  42. Allow government personnel to own their own government vehicle that they must care for. Equipment in the vehicle would have a list or amount or be physical stored objects.
  43. DEV: Increase vehicle storage boxes (double), but not volume.
  44. DEV: Add a back slot to wear bags and allow the ability to access this bag/container, from an expanding inventory section when a bag is on. Make parachute models, bags.
  45. DEV: Allow going over max volume on person and in vehicle, but disallow running, or limit vehicle speed when over.
  46. DEV: Reduce prices to everything. Knock off a 0 at the end of ALL money and items in the game, player, pay, store. This would take $10 water to $1. This would allow further expansion into higher priced items (like supers/aircraft) and create higher achievable goals.
  47. DEV: Add ‘taxes’ to maintain ownership of all items (this would be automated
  48. DEV: Automate reselling of all property if the owner does not log in for specific amount of hours every 90 days or if they don’t pay taxes/tax money runs out.
  49. DEV: Add a ‘maximum health’ to all vehicles, based on type of vehicle. Maximum health is reduced with repair, and by miles driven. Miles driven also
  50. DEV: add light-moderate vehicle damage and increased chances to stall to certain vehicles when driven offroad. Add increased fuel usage to all vehicles when driven offroad. This would allow off-roading in any vehicle, removing the rule, and instead grant IC consequences. (This can be done with raytracing and ‘on object’ scripting).
  51. DEV: Add Vehicle Mileage Damage. Add light heath damage to the vehicle as it’s used (reduces HP as mileage is added.). Very lightly reduce max HP based on a larger number of miles.
  52. DEV: Add two repair options. Repair: repairs general vehicle HP. Replacement is double the price and fixes only maximum health. Make the cost depend on vehicle value and how much damage or max damage is needed to repair. A scrapped car would require full replacement of items to fix.
  53. DEV: Slightly reduce the cost of vehicles and modifications.
  54. DEV: Open up factions to be able to be created by everyone. Allow to be part of 5 factions. Official factions could ‘unlock’ further faction abilities, like territory and shipping, but don’t limit too much as banking should be available for anyone and could be the option allowing ‘shared / business accounts’. Transfer faction ownership to the next logged in, if the owner does not log in 30 days. Auto disband the faction if no one from the faction logs in 90 days (transfer funds to current owner, or split among all members).
  55. DEV: Add more warehouses and with large personal or business garages vehicles can be stored.
  56. DEV: Remove the vehicle type name from the interaction when turning on/off a vehicle or selecting it, maybe include the VIN only on inspection (plate or not IRL, this is always visible).
  57. DEV: Allow vehicles to be attached to factions like property. These can also be parked/unparked from anywhere the faction or player has access and still has an ‘owner’.
  58. DEV: Remove vehicle ownership limitations, discouragement of owning too much would be based on the amount of parking you have, and the amount of ‘tax’ taken out of your account every month/week/day based on what you own.
  59. DEV: Increase all parking spaces by 1. (‘Credit’ properties by 5)
  60. DEV: Increase the return when scrapping vehicles, especially based on mileage on the vehicle. This would allow someone to purchase a vehicle, try it out, then essentially ‘return’ it. The reduction of value would be dramatic as milage is increased, to the point where it’s not worth scrapping after lengthy ownership, and back to ¼ of the value. (the plate/VIN will still be registered to the individual for a few months for investigation purposes.)
  61. DEV: Allow the peering into garages to see what’s inside. Vehicle type ‘sport/suv’ only, not plates. Essentially you would see the shadow of what kind of car it would be.
  62. DEV: Allow door listening, if someone’s inside, RNG chance to hear movement or talking.
  63. DEV: Expand scripted business abilities, attaching to faction, allow managers/ranks with specific accesses, money access, ordering access, ability to return items (with a return cost %)
  64. DEV: Remove business licenses, and make them automated and needed to be updated from the faction or business that holds them. Auto pull license fees from scripted business coffers, if funds run out, after 90 days, all items are returned at half the purchase price, half the amount of money the business was purchased for, plus the stock return is returned to the last owner, and the business is auctioned off.
  65. DEV: Add ‘mailbox’ door option to interaction menu. Anyone can put something in a mailbox, only mail carrier contracts can deliver securely that would show only inside. Otherwise it’s publicly accessible from the outside and inside. (essentially only owner/permed and mail carriers have keys to a secure box)
  66. DEV: Allow shipping/mailing of anything. Maybe RNG Mail carrier reports possibly suspicious items delivered to specific addresses, but still delivers.
  67. DEV: Allow vendoring of anything. Plugin vendors items must be small. “NPC” vendors would add to your taxes (to pay them) and can carry anything.
  68. DEV: Create NPC vendors (random NPC) could be placed for 1day to 30days just about anywhere. Will sell items or offer to purchase specific items they’re tasked to purchase. When all  transactions are complete, or they have no inventory, they would leave. (purchased items would be placed in the owners inventory. NPC will do illegal things, by RNG LEO interactions, from abandoning post, to revealing their full inventory, available to purchase, purchased and wanting to purchase.
  69. DEV: Increase food / drink needs, add notification or gurgling at 10% of water or food.
  70. DEV: Coroners should get calls from ‘NPC’s that would report bodies left for a certain amount of time. The coroner van should carry more before having to return. Bodies should take much longer to ‘deteriorate’. Police should be able to bag bodies and store (dispose) of them in their cruiser.
  71. DEV: Mail carrier delivery jobs (PostOp and GoPostal) should be merged like trucking. Where you carry random NPC deliveries, but you can also grab actual, higher paying player deliveries.
  72. DEV: Players should be able to send out items from a mailbox, or from their own property for a higher fee.
  73. Allow players characters to know their own other characters and be involved in similar activities and access their items/properties/vehicles (when it makes sense, obviously a police officer wouldn’t give his brother money that would likely be used for criminal activities.
  74. Disallow solo owning scripted businesses longer than 1 year. Longer permitted if others are involved and are equally able to make some kind of profit and be involved equally as an owner. through new manager scripting. Eventually though, an owner should get the money they paid for the business back, and would be auctioned off to a new owner.
  75. DEV: Add faction /card permission, same as /badge, allows a person to identify as part of a civil/criminal faction and their rank. Players can choose not to carry these, or the command could be restricted via rank permissions.
  76. DEV: Allow LEO to add notes to records, public and private.
  77. DEV: Lockering illegal evidence should be only documented as a list of items with an attached note and processor name, and no longer an actual item requiring storage spaces. These items would also be viewable from the MDC under the persons record.
  78. DEV: Items placed in a legal locker should be able to be picked up without an officer's involvement. (PO box/safe deposit boxes). Maybe these items would be delivered regularly by mail carrier to a bank safe deposit box?
  79. DEV: Add safe deposit boxes to banks for everyone.
  80. DEV: Add 120 day deterioration timer to all items. If it is not touched or moved, it deletes itself.
  81. DEV: Vehicles not used could also deteriorate its maximum HP very gradually.
  82. Remove gang backup rules. (this would encourage gang-gang debts)
  83. Increase gang member limits. But somehow encourage more gangs, instead of one big one. Maybe allow an increase based on the average gang activity or maximum gang size of minimum 5 criminal orgs. So if one gang hits 10 people, at least 4 other gangs have to reach 10 members before the overall number is increased to 15.
  84. DEV: If a player does not log in 30 days, auto remove them from a faction. If the last one in the faction, disband it.
  85. DEV: Add bleedout options based on time, and injury type. Players can ‘hold out’ to survive longer, maybe constantly play a minigame, to reduce the amount of blood loss per reduction. Or ‘give up’ by not playing the game to eventually die.
  86. DEV: Getting hit by a car should knock out and reduce HP, but not severely injure unless you are already very much low in HP.
  87. DEV: Fix damage types and injury analysis.
  88. DEV: Increase High End
  89. DEV: Create an ‘auction house’ of some kind? Fee to post, tax from sale, will remain for sale for 1 week. Could also just be a place players can freely place their NPC vendors or vending machines.
  90. DEV: Allow packaging of items. It would just be a container with 1-3 inventory slots. Volume is unlimited but carries onto the package itself. Right click to seal, knife required to open. You should be able to seal crates as well, crowbars required to open. Crates in general should be much lighter also, and carry their weight properly from its contents.
  91. DEV: Pocket volume is limited, but exceedable, carrying items in your hands has equal capability, allowing you to essentially double your volume before being hindered.
  92. DEV: Add many more recipes, drugs, craftable item, and food components. All items can be crafted into others, that can be crafted into others. Mine supplies, sell to NPC, or turn into ‘supply’ that you can further press into part shape. Collect many specific parts to make any item.
  93. Remove most kidnapping rules, but limit them to 1 per week per person. Thus they would need to decide value, or have someone else assist.
  94. Lighten Fear RP rules, especially players with lengthy criminal history or players in certain roles like law enforcement.
  95. Auto unban anyone that’s been banned for longer than 1 year. A lot can happen in 1 year, give them another chance! Past bans though are not forgotten and will still be held against them, for further violations.
  96. Lessen demand issuance rules based on location, or vehicle operation. It is the responsibility of the players to be aware of what’s going on around them, but also the responsibility of the issuer to do so effectively in several ways. All demands must be at minimum shouted in text.
  97. DEV: Change chat colors based on type of communication: Shouting could be orange/red?
  98. Remove most NCZs. Promote more support/friends/backup for areas that are more public you’d want your ‘crew’ to occupy to do whatever.
  99. Lighten a lot of Non-Roleplay (Non-RP) rules. Allow players to instead argue logical reasons if questioned. “For fun” could even be a reason, as some individuals could actually do something for fun. Promote more risk/reward analysis on the player themselves.
  100. Half NLR time.
  101. DEV: Add a visible timer to players screens after dying, (or that phone timer idea)
  102. Allow drug labs anywhere, but require plenty of space per table. Static drug labs have higher risk, higher reward, chance to double the output or just able to cook faster.
  103. Do a 3 strikes your out for property ownership, before property is seized, but don’t restrict a player from purchasing a different property.
  104. Remove several deathmatching rules, like vehicle use, and vehicle use in shootouts (it’s much easier now to shoot/injure a driver).
  105. DEV: Make sure shooting a vehicle does issue damage to the vehicle that could cause a stall.
  106. DEV: Issue a certain percentage of vehicle damage to driver and passengers.
  107. Remove Snow Rules completely.
  108. DEV: Lightly increase passive/use damage to vehicles during winter unless offroad tires are added.
  109. DEV: Add a ‘temperature’ value, anytime ‘on snow’ or in water, temp slowly reduces, then slowly drops max health and disallows running. Warm up quickly indoors or in a vehicle.
  110. DEV: Allow truck theft/interception. Gain something it could be hauling, but when delivered they only get half pay because it was not all delivered.
  111. DEV: Let anyone run mechanic shops. There are several locations throughout the whole state that could be ‘opened’ and offer services and let them manage how things are paid for. OR combine all mechanic shops under one faction and allow all mechanics to chose where they want to work. When mechanics are at a shop, their blip shows, if not, the blip does not show.

My overall opinion is to offer everything you can think of and let players use it or not use it, then adjust how it’s used, or if it remains, or gets expanded to different uses. If you build out base element foundation code/structure for all gaming 'quest' types, then further implementation with different creations, you can expand them any way you like. There are really only a few 'quest/mission' types all things fall under, both in roleplay and jobs, though they may all have expanded steps to achieve the final goal, these transitions can be broken down through items, instead of requiring actual task linking.

Fetch/Return

  • Attain
  • Fetch
  • Delivery
  • Escort (protect)

Hostility

  • Kill
  • Destroy
  • Survive

Discover (actually, really 'fetch' of information)

  • Investigate
  • Find / Locate
  • Negotiate

Craft (This is not specifically a type as it would likely fall under Discover, and/or Fetch/Return. But if we have a good universal crafting system with recipes you can know/learn or discover, it can be used for anything and could allow branching out almost any activity needs. Essentially it would be its own minigame, I can even think of several activities that could be used in a 'craft' window and have set timers for items.

  • Detective running fingerprints place tape and firearm in 'craft' menu, it produces a note or just a notification with a result.
  • Mechanic drops in 4 tire supplies and lug wrench, to change a vehicles tires. (this may be a bit too busy/expansive, with the many modifications, but you get the idea.)

Sorry about the huge post, this is just the beginning of many ideas I've had, and I may add more as I think of them. I also realize that a lot of this is mostly DEV focused, but also a lot of it is fairly easy DEV implementation / changes / fixes, where others can actually be done by higher administrators, but I aim to try to put in some non-Dev ideas also.

If you have any questions feel free to @ me or contact me on Discord. In the end, do what you like with these ideas, contemplate, innovate, expand, diss, trash, I care not. I'm just another Eclipse player trying to offer what I can to a place I have enjoyed for 7 years.

Staff: If this is in the wrong place, please don't hesitate to move it to the right place, or... create a new post for it? *shrugs*

Let's start with the fact that there is no one who really works with social media like Facebook or Instagram, and there are no new videos from EC:RP that can be uploaded to Youtube. These platforms could attract more people. You should tell others about all the new things that are being introduced to the server. Attract multiple streamers to the game/server

This is a good idea. Every official faction has a discord LFM/FM are privvy to, most have media sections where players post clips of the fun they have. Would be nice to have a "head of social media" admin etc to use these to create a presence and attract more players. right now i think we rely on 90% word of mouth and google search.

Another request/suggestion recently encountered.

Can we stop playing with the weather and time because someone doesn't like it or want to change it for an event? I've seen this far too much recently.

I believe weather and day/night is a huge part of immersion, where we as characters have to adapt and overcome. If you don't want to be in the weather, work out the event indoors if able. If you don't want to be in the dark, get some lights/flashlights.
