Increase DOC stamps value for reducing time at DOC

Recommended Posts

  • Who is the suggestion for?
    - Criminals
  • Why is the suggestion being made?
    - the vast majority of players that end up in DOC either AFK, or grind laundry/litter to generate money while in DOC.  using the system to turn in stamps for time reduction is almost entirely ignored, due to how incredibly undervalued it is. the value of turning in stamps for time reduction should be increased

  • What are the pros and/or cons of the suggestion?
    - Pro: Less people will see Prison as an afk simulator, as the reward for collecting or stealing stamps to get out faster would now be worth it
    - Con: ? should be incredibly easy to increase the value

Increase the value of stamps for turning them in for a time reduction. No one interacts with the time reduction, due to the value being so incredibly low, compared to the money you get with the stamps.

A good starting value I think would be 2 stamps per second of time reduction.

thoughts?

I am not opposed to your suggestion if it would incentivize people to RP and not just sit AFK in prison, but if stamps are not worth trading in for time reduction, is it not worth doing the job for the extra money at least?

I think their value time and money wise should be upped.

upping their time value way more then money wise. making it so you're actually feeling like you're given 2 options.

back when stamps were worth more then right now. people saw NO reason to lower their time with it. because the amount of time they lowered, was close to nothing. making it a straight up waste, and no. that's not even based on your opinion or not. it was just a waste.

I think players who DON'T go afk. and decide to actually stay active and play while in prison. should be rewarded for this, by ether getting money or lowering their time by a huge margin.

Yes, prison is supposed to be "a punishment" its meant to be an IC punishment. not OOC punishment. making it easy to get back out again quickly if you put effort in to it. you should be able to. would help boost the crim experience prison wise. without lowering the max prison time.

money wise they are at a good spot. previously it was $3 per stamp, and people were actively wanting to go to prison increasing their charges so they could go to prison to make money. thats bad, really bad. its currently $1.5 per stamp, which has been pretty balanced, letting you typically make back your fees or a bit more if you grinded out stamps during your time.

but yeah, increasing the stamp value to reduce time should be drastically increased. its wild how awful the time reduction is.

Stamps actually got nerfed last year in terms of money payout, so imo it makes sense to buff the Jtime reduction as right now its simply not worth.

Looks like we gotta make this visible again.
I dont know anybody who uses stamps to reduce time due to the value being to low.
Lowering time by putting in some effort that would be worth it, would be great as sitting in a small environment for 3 hours can often be extremely boring.
Most prison visits go like, rp with guards and prisoners for 20 minutes, go afk for an hour, interact for a bit again cuz something funny happened, go back afk again till sentence is finished.

By no means is this any offence towards the CO roleplayers! yall actually been doing a pretty good job lately, interactions became more fun and less long lockdowns (from my experience). much better 💪

I agree with the 2 stamps per second. it might not seem like much reading it like this but it adds up a good amount of time.
