PD/SD suggestion: Throwable stopsticks/stingers
Requiem replied to Valkyrie's topic in Civilian Suggestions
Big +1. Its so unrealistic the way it works now and stopping pursuits in a safer and more strategic manner would be better for all sides. -
I am in support for armor not absorbing damage for headshots. But for the rest of the suggestion(s) -1. I am not sure why this suggestion is even being talked about when it might mean nothing after the weapon update. What if AP rounds are introduced that shred armor likes it nothing? Should just wait to see what happens, then talk about changes from there.

I would like to see this as well as PD has a K9 division and as a handler myself, I have personally tried to do medical RP with my dog and when I have gotten into a vehicle collision with my dog in the car with me, RP'd some minor injuries for the dog but had no vet to take it to. I just called MD and gave them some RP opps and they loved it. My only concern is with as niche as it is, I am not sure people would dedicate the time and effort. Maybe the legal factions as stated would participate in this, but I feel like the business would sit around stagnant with no patients 90% of the time

Personal Owned Truck for Trucking Job
Requiem replied to Dustin Smokestack's topic in Civilian Suggestions
+1 Another way to word the suggestion also would be: Charge a rental fee to those borrowing trucks instead of bringing their own. This will incentivize people to use their own truck. -
I don't mind the expensive clothes like a suit for example to cost $1000, but yes a t-shirt or some jeans should be much cheaper. I think it would be cool to sell cheaper clothes at the cheaper looking stores. Have a store that is a name brand store selling expensive clothes, and a cheaper store with simple stuff. Then the different brands of clothing stores would make more sense.

Poker bets in prison should be scaled down
Requiem replied to Kjaer's topic in Implemented Suggestions
New minimum bet of 50 stamps has been implemented today. Congrats. Probably don't need this suggestion anymore. -
Unless something has changed, the drug update was unfortunately put on the back burner by the devs. They made an official statement saying they would work on other things first such as the gun update, house robberies, and clothing update. I don't believe there is any estimate for a release on the drug update at this time.

Changes for LEO/Crim/Civ that NEED to be Changed/Tweaked
Requiem replied to DoubleA's topic in Game Suggestions
1) Armor - I think there is a misconception about armor here. As already stated, LEOs have increased armor to discourage fighting them and to fear shootouts and fights with them. This is realistic and the way it should be. The other factor to consider here is that it is also a way to balance crim vs LEO interactions. On a daily basis, crims evade from LEOs in a pursuit situation, and setup ambushes for cops to get shot at. Crims have the capability to control the situation and always take the first shot. A cop is not allowed to shoot first in most situations, or even have the capability to have the positioning or numbers for a situation. If crims choose to lead cops to an ambush, cops can only react at that point. Everything cops do is REACTIVE to what crims do, not the other way around. The fact that crims get to control the playing field and take the shot first means that cops need to have the armor and equipment to counteract that for an even playing field. Armor should not be touched, especially until we know what the gun update brings. As was already stated by someone else here, if crims really want to, they can roll cops easily and theres not much to be done about it since LEOs can only react to a situation. 2) Vehicle Spawning - I don't think this is as much a problem as is being stated. Most often when someone flips a police vehicle, they are stuck waiting for someone else to pick them up, and even if they do get picked up by another unit, they tend to normally stay in the vehicle with the other person that picked them up for the duration of the pursuit. I cannot recall the last time I saw one of the specialized vehicles such as the high speed flipping or taken out of the pursuit (at least in my experience) due to damage. Any vehicles that this normally happens with are standard slower cruisers such as a scout or a crown vic, and there a RPly there are numerous of those standard vehicles in the motor pool/garage, so I don't see it as unrealistic for them to grab a new vehicle. One thing I personally think SHOULD change however is people rping injuries. There is a severe lack of proper medical RP in this server on all sides (crim & LEO). People should more often properly RP their injuries if they are in a major crash, not just continue on like nothing happened. 3) Charge stacking - There may need to be clarification on this topic. I hear alot of people say that LEOs are charge stacking, but in reality, they are only applying the charges that the criminal actually committed. Charge stacking is NOT applying the charges committed...it IS stacking multiple of the same charge for no reason or placing charges that never occured. I personally do not ever see any charge stacking occurring. I think the issue is people just unhappy with how much time they are getting in prison. 4) Lower gun prices - I agree and disagree here. There are some gun prices that are too high for sure that should be lowered, but we also don't want this server to turn into a full on PVP server by making the guns too cheap and arming everyone to the teeth with heavy weapons. There needs to be a balance. 5) Lower prison times - I think some charges should be lowered for sure. I don't think evading with a .50 in your glove box should land you 2 hours OOC time in prison. Could maybe look at lowering things like evading to 45 mins down from 60 or the previous suggestion of a .50 to 40 minutes and heavy weapons stay at 60 minutes. I think alot of this needs to be dealt with IC tho with the LRC, not OOC here. As for the civilian suggestions, those all seem fine and I am good with the suggestion. -
Ask some people in game In-character! There are plenty of people that could help you with this. There is a section of the IC government meant to handle this. Find out who to talk to in game and I am sure you would get all the help you need.

The addition of saving accounts through the bank.
Requiem replied to FarmerJesus's topic in Game Suggestions
-1. Its bad for the economy of a server such as this to spawn more money from doing nothing. If anything, we need more money sinks. -
-1 I dont think this is needed...

Turn Dealership Hud to the same as Credit imports Hud
Requiem replied to Lyricz's topic in Game Suggestions
Big 'ol +1. The dealership hud is terrible and gives no info. Realistically, a salesman would be able to give you info on the car and look at it. -
-1 from me. I feel that if these were available for credits, there would be too many in the game and they would be more likely to be used for non-rp or abused.
-
Discussions on any weapon changes should wait until the new weapon update release!
-
+1 the first person stance looks terrible and unrealistic.
-
We have Cayo Perico, why not implement some of these ideas, especially now that the air travel thing is coming into play.
-
Also, your suggestion mentions more enforced rules on when SWAT can be deployed. From what I can tell, that is actually a suggestion to be raised ICly, not OOC here on the forums. The policies on what an officer carries and what they do in field are all IC policies with the LSPD.
-
Hello. I am one of the leaders of the LSPD SWAT team, so I think I can give some good insight here. First thing I will mention is you are mistaken about what "deployed" is. In the clip above, this is a SWAT officer that is actually NOT deployed. He is in standard patrol uniform. The only difference between a SWAT officer on normal patrol and a normal officer is we wear slightly heavier kevlar (150AP instead of 100AP) due to our priority being responding to violent or high threat situations when 911 calls come in. We also carry a carbine rifle on standard patrol where most officers don't, but there are other officers that CAN carry a carbine, this isn't only SWAT. I don't think you can make the argument that SWAT itself is the problem since I have seen other suggestions from others saying that they struggle to take down a normal patrol officer, not just a SWAT officer. As suggested above, I recommend waiting for the weapon update, which the devs said should be coming out this month before suggesting any changes to weapons/armor or their use. I will also add that Herbo's comments above are echoed on my side. SWAT training multiple times a week for several hours in all of our tactics, strategies and weapons handling and the application and recruitment process for the division is a month long rigorous process. These officers are the most specialized and highly trained officers in the department and if you choose to take them on, you are asking for trouble and shouldn't expect to win often. I am not sure if there are realistically any situations where a criminal would ever take on a SWAT team/SWAT members and actually win in real life.
-
Agreed that examples like yours above should not be allowed and the feature should not be used for any MG purposes, however, I think its still important to know when no mechanics are on duty if you send in a request so you don't sit around wasting time waiting for a request that will never be accepted.
-
I do agree that forcing people to slow down to make turns and have slower acceleration would make things more interesting.
-
This sounds nice until someone is able to go 280 on the freeway and drive unrealistically that way instead.
-
This server would sadly never work with NPCs the way you are suggesting, both in the culture and performance capabilities. People already have a lot of performance issues inthe server and our capability to have a lot of players as opposed to other RP servers is because there are no NPCs. The server would be unplayable for most if NPCs filled the streets.

Love the suggestion, but have to agree with the comments above that it will likely be abused...

This is exactly what chops used to be except it used a different method of chopping the car. This idea has been suggested by a lot of people to bring old public chop areas back, maybe even on a rotation as you suggested, but I wouldn't hold your breath on that. I think the new chop system is here to stay.
