+1 Perhaps instead of the alias resetting from just changing your name, it should stem from getting plastic surgery instead.

-1 I really understand where you're trying to go with this but implementing further restrictions on buying businesses isn't the best play in all honesty. By having to climb tiers, players might have to run businesses they really have no interest in running just to be able to get up to the tier with the business they want and that'll likely make things even worse. Having to meet tier requirements will further block more people out rather than making them more accessible as well. The purchasing costs between each tier will actually benefit the mega rich as they won't need to generate money to buy a business of the next tier like the not so rich will so we'd likely see the mega rich locking everyone else out at each tier. I completely understand that people are disgruntled by not getting a "fair" shot a buying and running a "map implemented" business but that's not the only option when it comes to businesses. Businesses aren't limited to just things already on the map like dealerships, ammunition, general stores, gas stations, etc. Players are able to start different businesses and even register them through the government website. You can view some already completed on there that are outside of the "map implemented" businesses. As the server grows, more "map implemented" businesses are being added in but if people are genuinely interested in running some kind of business, especially in RP, they should work towards it IC first. The problem with just saying, "We need more businesses" or "We should limit who can own businesses" in a server suggestion, is it doesn't show enough initiative. Yes, having implemented game mechanics and scripts help make things easier but they're there to support roleplay. By relying on the game mechanics and scripts to be implemented first, it doesn't present the initiative of the players "needing" the support but rather works against the argument. I'm sure we all can agree that it's a bit of a bummer that everyone doesn't get a chance to own the "map implemented" businesses but not everyone will be a faction leader or a millionaire. It all comes down to each person's initiative, motivation, dedication, and creativity.

+1 Unions are a good check and balance to work against high-level powers, in the case business owners, low-balling or treating potential workers unfairly. I see where you're going with this suggestion and it sounds like it could be a mixed approach done by both IC and OOC methods. While pushing for implemented game mechanic content via an OOC suggestion is justified, I think this needs an IC approach as well. Should enough truckers band together in character to create a Trucker's Union, it would push the demand further for implementations to be brought out via OOC game mechanics.

-1 As most said already, there's numerous ways to take measures about using radios and their frequencies in various ways to avoid people finding out the frequencies. Alternatively, you could set up all sorts of protocols and signs to avoid using radios at all. Examples of such: - time interval texts, if you don't text within a certain time frame, they know to come running. - horn patterns, like 3 fast honks means trouble, 2 long honks mean trouble. - /me hand signals like radio silent tactical teams I understand the frustration of dealing with constant badgering for "what's the frequency" but you should be finding ways to adapt around it IC'ly. If your robbers don't find radios on you and your guys, they'll stop trying to take radios. Extra note: if you do decide to go a radioless route, you should definitely document everything you use as protocols OOC'ly in order to show any staff instantly, in case you get accused of metagaming as people will likely assume you are without knowing your protocols and signs.

Pretty simple suggestion I forgot to make earlier. Can we get collisions changed on dropped ore items or changed to a smaller item? I only recommend this as the ores are starting show up on roads which impact driving, especially on highways where dodging ores(coolers) at higher speeds can lead to accidents. I've only driven my trophy truck around since the ores were implemented so I don't know what kind of damage(if any) they'll do to a vehicle that doesn't clear them height wise.

Option to leave or stay in prison when prison time is up
Wifye replied to DeanThompson's topic in Archive
I was actually just about to suggest that the guards could do that. I do like @alexalex303 idea of four hours compared to 30 minutes, could even go with 8 hours to make it 1 day IC. Gives them plenty of time to finish rp'ing -
Option to leave or stay in prison when prison time is up

A mix between the realism of prison kicking people out when their times up and so players can't just stay hanging out there forever thus making them almost inaccessible to others. I could see people hiding in prison to avoid facing threats waiting on the outside. I don't play a criminal character and never have been in jail but the idea that players could just stay there forever seems a tad broken in the grand scheme of things. -

+1 I could see how popping right out of prison could be annoying mid rp. I would however put a time limit of like 30 minutes that the command could be used before it just auto boots someone out after their time is up just so people don't stay in prison forever. -

This is a pretty simple suggestion that I believe will greatly help avoid issues in RP. I believe no matter what you're doing animation wise, such as eating, drinking, holding a phone, etc, the hands up animation should take priority, except cuffed/tied probably. I have found myself in an awkward situations of trying to type /stopeating, /record, or simply putting the phone away with an f2 click in order to free up my character's hands so the hands up animation will work. Thankfully the few times this has happened, the criminals sticking my character up have been considerate enough to give me a break since it's tough to instantly comply and they're trying to be as quick as possible to avoid anyone else passing by during to see the whole ordeal. So shout out to the criminal players who aren't super trigger happy and cut people slack on delays. In regards to the bit above, I feel like a new player might struggle in such situations which would likely lead to the criminals thinking they're not complying and end up poorly for everyone involved.

Even with the manual process, staff gets swamped with reports of rule breaking. While it's a shame people have to wait so long to get in, it helps ensure quality control to make the server an enjoyable experience. -1 to relaxing the application process at all at this time.

+1 I really like the idea of the theme park but I would like to point out why I think people really use the bank as a social hub currently with two main reasons that will work against the theme park. 1. Easy to go and collect your salary but you run into other people and start chit chatting which then another person drops in and so on and so forth. 2. Proximity to other useful locations. It's not far from many things so it's a good "staging" area to meet at then head out. By taking those two things into consideration, I don't think people won't likely cross the town(especially out of fear of being robbed/attacked) out to the theme park then have to go back across town to get their salary or anything else. I think the solution to this issue of the bank hangout is to implement multiple functioning banks to break up the traffic of everyone heading to one specific bank location. With 3 or more functioning banks scattered around the map, it is highly unlikely everyone would still go to the current bank every time for their salary. By implementing the above, the amusement park would flourish much more as a social hub vs the bank.

+1 I know water can come from a tap in a house in real life but with the way the server is, let's say you need to buy a "filter" to safely acquire the water to drink. As an example, the filter could cost $5000 and you get like 25 uses making is $200 per use but you also get the convenience of it being in your home.

I see where you're going with the jobs but waiting 250 minutes for the bus driver or 400 minutes(+1 per 10 minutes) is just way too long for regular civilian jobs that don't have too much responsibility or impact on other players. Perhaps just raising the price of getting a truck license or making the test much tougher would have the effect you're looking for so it's more than just a time limitation.
-
Hopefully truckers themselves don't get in on the blackmail and try to extort the store owner for even more money by "getting held up on purpose" This all becomes a mixed bag with high dollar amounts getting involved, especially since everyone has money to lose besides the criminals in this situation.
-
This would be something to accompany longer sentences and help mainly with misdemeanors and non violent criminals

+1 Second +1 to @Jbacon for his point system too. Perhaps start with +50 points for new players just to not limit any civilian jobs

GPS anklet is a real nice idea. It could pop the alert if you leave the area or if it is tampered with. Obviously removing it should at least require another person or a special tool in order to prevent it from being too easily removed.

Newer players are unfortunately at a disadvantage when it comes to purchasing due to obvious money limitations but that is sort of a retention type deal by providing long terms goals to achieve through extended play time. If anyone could buy an actual physical business easily, there would be too many businesses causing a lack of customers for everyone. There has to be some balance and quality maintained between # of physical businesses to buy vs # of players. New businesses are not only limited to physical locations. There are processes to establish a new business without having an actual physical location, both legally registered or illegally. This is a far tougher path to travel but it is not impossible, sure making money is tougher but everyone is here to rp and any new to business, outside the normal routine game mechanic assisted businesses, has a good shot at becoming utilized by people. A few examples of a business without an actual location: - a traveling therapist/psychologist. There's plenty of messed up characters on the server who would surely like to vent about issues - delivery services similar to grub hub/postmates/uber eats, especially with the hunger/thirst update - being a musician/photographer/artists people love artistic stuff and will pay for it - erotic dancer/escort service/prostitution, pretty self explanatory - being an information broker/private investigator to help people find out things There's definitely tons more of opportunities to have a business without a location. Now if you have plenty money and still want an actual business location that's not on the map, approach the devs with a whole complete in depth detailed petition of about the business and location along with how it will benefit the server vs the effort it'll take for implementation. But all in all when it comes to the businesses on the map, you're unfortunately at the mercy of current owners in terms of buying one unless you can grab one as it's implemented. That is of course if npc limitations become a thing or income gets restricted.

Mask themselves aren't a valid indicator of crime. Plenty of people wear masks on a regular basis, motor cycle riders wear masks for covering their face against wind with either full helmets or other articles like bandanas, others like to wear silly mask like furries, mascots, cosplayers, and even just for fashion. Therefore, I can't see the use in banning them entirely, especially since that should be handled IC. You could however limit their use within actual buildings inside of NCZs via OOC rules/mechanics in efforts to promote sensible rp. For example, banks, hospitals, and government institutions will not serve you if you're wearing a mask, hat, sunglasses, or anything else obstructing your identity for obvious security reasons. Since hats and sunglasses aren't easily removed like masks(I could be wrong on that, I honestly don't know), we should just focus on masks since they mechanically alter your identifiable features and hide your identity. This is where you implement something to the ticket system in regards to a pop up. If you enter a building within a NCZ with a mask on, it will alert you to remove it or leave the building, if you continue to remain masked and don't leave, it should automatically inform law enforcement immediately of trespassing as you're not permitted to be there.

I completely understand and agree with you in regards to wanting more participation from those who hold businesses in the realms of rp rather than just using the game mechanics for money. Many players such as yourself strive for the opportunity to own a business and conduct daily rp through it on a regular basis as if it was a job like being a cop or mechanic. Therefore I think the smarter play here might be to limit the use of NPC clerks to allow the use of actual player clerks in stores requiring the business owners to either operate their stores more themselves or hire people to do so. Having actual clerks/salesmen at stores like gunshops, general stores, and dealerships put a more sensible burden on the owner and require actual management rather than just tossing some money at restocking mechanics. If the above is taken into consideration, people would be more hesitant to buy a business if they're expected to manage and interact with it more rather than just restocking and make profits. This would in turn will more likely result in the selling of businesses and open the opportunity to players who want to run the business in routine roleplay as the owner rather than just profit off of mechanics with occasional rp. Just an idea to give the desired effect you're looking for while also creating more content and opportunities rather than implementing restrictions.
