  1. How do you guys think that lowering voices would be abused? They could just implement a rule that says if you can't hear someone because you lowered their volume, then that's your problem and you are responsible for any RP implications that may have for you
  2. there used to be a radio volume command, /rvv or something. It was really useful - I think they got rid of it when they changed the voice server they were using. It would be a welcome return for sure if possible
  3. can you link it?
  4. This really has to stop, it's complete bullshit
  5. People also trade, and there should be a legal and protected way to do this

I'd rather not have this forced for everyone, a lot of these textures are pretty ugly
  7. I agree, the old scam limit was fine. Scamming someone in a weapons deal down a shadey alley is good roleplay and should be allowed, but basically all the scams you hear about since the rule was removed have been people taking advantages of flaws in the server's trade system (or lack thereof). If two parties want to make an exchange they should be able to visit a government office and sit down with some sort of official, and sign documents that make it legal (both ICly and OOCly). The government could take a small cut of the transaction and that would be problem solved. Trading in illegal goods should have no scam protection, but trading cars/houses etc. should definitely be protected.
  8. I think this would be great, there must be some reasons why it isn't the case, though I'm not sure what they could be
  9. Such an ignorant statement
  10. This says as much about the state of criminal content on the server as it does about the profitability of fishing
  11. It's the opposite. There has actually been a decline in prison RP because people are more likely to afk their way through a 5 hour sentence than stick around for a 1-2 hour one. There are also fewer people in prison as a result of the strict sentences, which have put people off playing as criminals (which you could argue is a good thing, but it does decrease the opportunities to roleplay). Mining is a joke; it's incredibly boring with no real benefits. And you can't play poker unless you mine for ages to get enough cash to join the table. And because of that, even if you get enough money together to join the table ($1500), it's really unlikely that there is anyone else around to play with who also bothered to mine for that long. So, to the cops who constantly support the longer sentences argument, I humbly request that you make a criminal character (if you don't have one already), rack up some charges and commit to doing 5+ hours in prison without going afk. If you manage I will be very impressed (and concerned for your mental health).
  12. I currently have an unplayable character. He has 200k in debt (which he got from speeding before the debt update applied. I know it's very easy to say don't the crime if you can't deal with the consequences, but everyone else had their pre-update debt wiped. The only reason my character still has this debt is he went to jail the day the update came out). So, he is 200k in debt, 0 cash. He has a car on the map that he can't find because he doesn't have a map/gps, and can't afford one. He can't do any of the civilian jobs like trucking/bus driver/courier to pay back the debt because they require a gps to actually see where you are going. So no way to make an income. I'm fortunate that I have other characters to play on but there are new players in this exact position and debt has made the game unplayable for them
  13. They've really messed up the balance with these updates. I think it's a really good point you made about the number or police relative to the number of criminals and calls being received. The new update has already caused a lot of criminal players to either play on their alts or not log in. It seems like there are fewer crimes being reported. So what this means is that there are loads of cops on standby, so if on the off-chance as a criminal you do get into a chase, instead of having to deal with 1-3 cop cars, you end up with a small army chasing you around because they have nothing else to do Would also be nice to have some leadership from the official criminal factions on this one. The criminal community make up the majority of the server and we need to work together to make our voices heard. We've already had one official faction disband this week, I don't pretend to know the details of why but it would not surprise me if this update had something to do with it. My friends in other official factions say activity has really started to dwindle as everyone is too scared to do anything. I hope the leaders of the official factions will not be afraid to speak out for fear of biting the hand that feeds them, but a coordinated effort from official leaders could have an impact.
  14. So now you're suggesting that female players shouldn't use their microphones if they don't want to deal with sexism? I seriously can't tell if you're trolling. You are literally admitting it's an OOC problem. The issue of robbing new players is an entirely separate one, go make a thread about it if you think it's important. I'm sure you will get a lot of support.
  15. From my experience, it is true that there is no RP in prison. I agree that there should be scheduled activities and routine RP should be pushed, but right now the DOC don't do any of that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp4poGtA_ec https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AarXjfmHBNM Obviously these videos are just anectodal but this has been my experience of the post-update prison. IMO there was actually more roleplay in prison with the 2 hour cap, because people weren't in for ridiculously long periods they actually engaged with each other instead of just going AFK
  16. It's actually very easy, most of us witness it daily on the server. You are being strangely defensive, don't you think female players have better insight and experience of the issue? I'm just staggered that you would spend so much time arguing against the point of this well intentioned and important thread
  17. I would hazard a guess and say that restricting yourself in terms of vehicles etc. means that if you have to fight against other gangs you are at a disadvantage. Basically all the big gangs in the city allow their members to drive whatever they want, own big businesses and don't limit themselves financially in order to achieve a particular kind of low-end roleplay. There's also no scripted content like turfs or anything, so you have to be carried by your roleplay and that can be difficult over a long period of time. Wish you the best of luck though, looks like a very exciting group
  18. hey @CarlTTT, feel free to contribute to the discussion rather than just leaving reactions!
  19. Maybe they could just reduce the downtime on labs? Because recently there have been cases where all but one of the labs was down. We still seem unable to rob stores right now, which leaves basically nothing for criminals to do besides robbing people, which understandably the server wants to move away from. Give criminals more to do so they don't have to resort to robbing civs!
  20. Let me guess, you're a man. How often have you felt OOCly hurt and harassed playing on the server? It's clearly a big issue for the women who play on the server and to just say 'ignore it' is to show a real lack of empathy and understanding for what they have to deal with when they are trying to play a game. To OP, great thread, hope this leads to some positive changes.
  21. This is such a toxic attitude to bring to the discussion. So we're not allowed to raise points about how prison is failing to live up to its promise as being a place to rp in because our characters have been imprisoned? What sort of logic is that; we're literally the only people actually qualified to talk about the prison experience. I'll one up a simple "arbitrary" screenshot, how about an arbitrary video instead?
  22. I believe they added this for the exclusive use of the weazel news faction. It would be a cool addition for non-members, but it would make sense that they want to keep it for weazel only. Some kind of feature where you are able to hire some equipment from them could be cool
  23. Currently in jail, and it is completely empty. Really enjoying the rp
  24. Literally the title of the post
