how is this an IC only issue when speed cameras are inherently an OOC problem? People have racked up tens of thousands in speeding tickets when driving stolen vehicles - how is this fair, good RP or an IC only problem? Cameras need a huge overall, the system is totally broken right now.

People trade assets legally all the time in real life. If two players want to trade their houses or cars, is there any protection for them right now since the scamming rules were changed? Just doesn't seem very fair as it stands.

Great update, but still no fix for the speed cameras? Well, seems like the least of the issues now

And on that note, how about marking the bus stops on the map so they are actually useful for people who might use the bus service? And when you get to the bus stop it could have one of those blue markers that would tell you how many bus drivers were online so that you aren't waiting there all day when there aren't any buses running.

I'd say maybe even 3 online, or perhaps it could depend on which citybee spot you use? For example, central citybee locations such as the one by the hospital could have a cap of 1 or 2 DCC employee online, but the rural locations such as up in paleto could be activated if there are 3 or less online

I agree, I can only speak for myself but this update caused me to stop playing for about a month because I had racked up so many fines that I couldn't afford to get my cars back from the impound. This system needs a lot of work. First of all, if it is to remain, cameras need to be marked clearly on the map, because the zones where you are actually liable to get a ticket in are not clear at all and this surprises a lot of people. Second, you should not receive fines for speeding in stolen vehicles. Like seriously, what the fuck, this was such an oversight and has lost people tens of thousands of dollars for essentially bad administrative decisions. Third, this is another buff to the already very strong PD by making it very easy to rack up fines whilst you are being chased. We need to think about why these speeding fines were imposed in the first place: if it was to stop people getting run over in NCZs then the better solution is surely to add more bollards like have been done at the bank. Or to have dedicated police speed enforcement officers with cameras of their own who could monitor busy NCZs like bank/MD - add some roleplay rather than just having a shitty automation that costs people tens of thousands of dollars. In the meantime, I recommend to any player that has a lot of fines to spend all of your money (on a new car, new house, etc.) then turn yourself in with an empty bank account. The fines will be paid off. It's a shame we have had to resort to using tactics like this to get around it but this has been one of the worst updates I've seen on this server.

Why have all the recent loan refunds been denied?

@Pvle @FlyElvis Hey guys do you have anything to contribute to this thread? Since you are losing out at the moment too. -
Why have all the recent loan refunds been denied?
Malcolm Carter replied to Malcolm Carter's topic in Archive
Ok so it is a grey area but why not just refund the requests out of good faith for players who felt secure enough in the server's previous refunding protocol to give out huge loans? We are all hundreds of thousands out of pocket which is tens of hours of our time wasted. Since you don't refund interest it's not like the refund is something we were hoping would happen - I lost money anyway by not getting interest and not having the money in my account for months to do other things with. Why are you being so harsh with us when we felt secure enough in the server's administration team that you wouldn't let us get screwed? It's not that you can't do it, but that you won't. Which I find odd. -

@Osvaldon is there anything that can be done about this or is that the server's final decision? We've all lost a lot of money due to a server rule-change happening after these reports were made. -
As I'm sure a lot of people know, the refund requests have just been processed after a 3 month period. During this time, there was a rule-change and Eclipse no longer give refunds for player-to-player loans. Fair enough. But why should the people who gave out loans before this rule was changed be penalised by this new rule change? Obviously nobody would have given out loans if they didn't have the safety net of a server refund if OOC reasons prevented the loan from being paid back (e.g. a player quitting, as in my case). It just seems very unfair to have previously refunded unpaid loans, to change the rule and then apply it to refund requests posted before it was enacted. It's bad enough we have had to wait for 2-3 months, I think the refund request should be dealt with using the rules that were in place at the time of the request, same as player reports. Example of how loans used to be dealt with: As you can see from Osvaldon's post, you used to give out refunds. It isn't fair to change the rule and apply this rule to refund requests made before it changed. Rejected loan refunds posted before the rule-change:

I don't see your point - yes it's unpopular, so let's make it more desirable to increase its popularity.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who very rarely actually has a medic respond to my 911 call, clearly there are not enough medics in town. So my suggestion is quite a simple one - why not increase their hourly wages to encourage more people to apply to be EMTs?

Bayview vs. Bennys (Illegal faction theme(s))
Malcolm Carter replied to Resfiel420's topic in Archive
Maybe Bayview could be slightly subsidised so that everything is a bit cheaper than at LSC? Like 5% so it isn't a huge deal but a nice incentive to drive a little further out. -
/stats will do the trick, but I know what you mean as an IC thing. edit: oh, just realised this was a necro'd thread, my bad

Not only is this song/video really good but it brings up a real problem on this server which is players getting away with being racist because they do it 'in character' - just because you hear an Indian accent doesn't mean that person is necessarily playing as an Indian character, yet people are very quick to throw around words like "curry eater". Anyway, massive +1 good luck

They absolutely do in the sense that they control the prices for all chopped vehicles.

Good luck, nice to have a motorcycle gang in town!
