Criminal Pagers

So. Lots of conversation has been going on about LEO vs Crim balance. A major difference I've noticed between being high command of an official crim faction and now a member of the investigation bureau, is how powerful the "pager" system is for LEO. Cops get an OOC channel in their discords that they can ping an @role to notify everyone with that role, (SWAT, G&D, Detectives) to show up asap. In an official crim faction, doing the same would be a metagaming punishment, if not a bannable offense. Crim factions are only allowed to have an @RPops ping with a minimum 1 hour lead time. 

I think if crim groups were allowed to have their own pager system on discord it would help alleviate one of the issues that people bring up with Leo vs Crim interactions. 

There would have to be rules and regulations made for the system, like it can only be in official faction discords, or admin approved discords where FM would have access, etc.

I see the point about its unfair... I have been in SWAT and now I am in SIB, and its not that often that the pager is used...and its rules/regulations tied to using it.

Realisticly no criminal gang walks around with pagers...as far as I know, SWAT do.

I have been high-command in a official faction before, and I can only imagine the pager go off before every fight/push. This promotes PVP mentallity, and I highly doubt the leaders/owners of ECRP want that. 

You can already ping your whole gang with RP opps one hour before for planned activities.

I think if anything the pager system should be taken away from LEOs long before crims get one.

Why though? Irl pagers exist, people can be called up to duty if something happens. Ultimately cops should have the advantage over crims, to suggest otherwise is farcical.

I think there should be no pagers at all entirely. We've seen "pager" use in the past from criminal factions, and it resulted in a 5 man push turning into a 20 man push. I don't think that's a healthy environment.

Because in order to be a LEO you have to follow a certain group of rules to the letter or risk being kicked out of the faction. If crims get a pager, whats their risk? Dying? it just makes no sense. The Pager exists, the LEO's should have AN ADVANTAGE, the idea that they should always win is actually ridiculous, but lets not turn this into a LEO v Crim convo.

I have no issue with crims getting pagers, I have an issue with the removal of pagers for LEOs as it serves a purpose and reflects real life fairly well, something the community as a whole seems to pick and choose massively.

Criminal pagers would be extremely annoying for everyone. Instead, just restrict pagers to SWAT, no reason anyone else should get pagers. If we remove LEO pagers fully, thats going to end up with more shooty police, as less numbers = more police with rifles shooting everything instantly.

I'm +/- 1 on this. We either remove pagers all together as LEO factions use them a ton. Anyone who says otherwise is just lying through their teeth. Or we all go watch snow fall and see how crims use pagers throughout the TV series to sell a copious amount of cocaine.

When you RPly hit the page you then go on discord and only tag SWAT/SED/GND, not whole of PD/SD, general cops/deputies cant even see the pager.

While i am neutral on the subject i think one thing people vastly overestimate is how many people actually RESPOND to pagers when they are hit.

Yeah idk if yall seen snowfall but back in the day Alot of people used to use pagers, wether it was a cop, a criminal or like a lawyer/business man, pagers were used throughout society before we got smart phones and they would be used in our day to day lives. As a crim a pager you could set a bind to and your whole gang IC can do the same so notify for SOS situations wouldn’t be bad I don’t think, just make it an actual item like the radio and only to be used to n IC situations not any discord or third party softwares

I think it should stay the same. The pagers are used because they are reacting to something crims are doing and it is realistic in response

Literally only a fraction of PD and SD have access to pagers, that's only for specialized divisions (SIB, SED, GND, METRO, etc) as has been stated in these arguments before, and like cup said, most people don't respond, maybe it gets like 2 or three people on most of the time, but otherwise the pager doesn't make a huge difference.

Also the fact that pagers are not hit literally every time we have a violent encounter, they are for big scenarios and we are specifically told to only page for those by LFM as it would be unfair otherwise.

My opinion is, if ur not on the game while the situation that needs a pager occurs, you miss it. Crims should definitely not get one, as a cop and a crim, if ur on ur on, if not then u miss it. Remove pagers for everyone
