Toggle Posters on/off

I'd like the option to be able to toggle posters, I have a 3080 and an I7 but recently have been dropping to 10 fps... I'd love to test to see if it's actually the posters causing these drops & to be able to improve my performance even just a little bit.

I don't know if you would be able to toggle it but I think that we do have to be more responsible with how and where these posters are deployed.

At the point where it's negatively impacting people's game performance, it's not really on is it?

+1 to this. I feel like if there were a few select central locations like a hub where they could be posted and a standard size would be ideal.  I think exceptions made for posters used during events, but regular posters seem to cause a ton of performance issues. Would be cool to have a central few places like Parking or Bank that have a poster board with what is happening in the city. Or just keep them to a standard size.

They were never meant to be this common. If I remember correctly thang said that loading a poster in once will keep it loaded during the remainder of your play session. We have SO MANY posters that are abused and overused. Some even as billboards, signs for stores, etc. THAT WAS NEVER THE SPIRIT OF THE POSTER SCRIPT!!

See if we can fix how they are displayed or just fix the lag then they’re great imo, I love them and it’s so unique, but not at the expense of performance. Only thing I’d prefer is if they were smaller.

I have not experienced any performance issues relating to performance. Posters are generally placed at locations with MLOs and high player counts to maximise visibility so there's multiple reasons why performance drops may occur. If definitive proof can be provided that posters are the sole reason for performance issues we may choose to find ways of limiting this in certain locations.

Aside from that, Weazel (my faction) has a set of guidelines for posters which can be found here: https://biz.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?t=767

How we choose to utilise posters is our decision and what we believe is the best way forward for the server, and our faction. We have also created a pricing model that accurately reflects the power of posters, meaning a higher quantity, and larger size will cost more. Whilst these are subject to change in future, we are happy with the current situation and we believe the pricing is fair.

We will not be making any changes to our placement of posters at this time.

I've looked in to this a little myself due to having lag spikes here and there. and the posters are not affecting the rendering or Taxing of the GPU or CRU at all. if anything its Taxing the RAM.

It MIGHT put a slight Tax on the GPU, but not enough for anyone to notice. the biggest killer of frames are MLO's and furniture's as they're adding extra polygons to be loaded and so on.

however. I do agree that they shouldn't be spammed in to a location like they have been at burgershot, where the windows have basically just turned in to posters.

I'm still running on an RTX 2060 and a pretty epic AMD 5700X3D CPU. I get between 180-350 FPS around the map with an RP graphics mod - never had any issues even at intensive areas like MRPD/Legion Square/Pillbox. RageMP relies heavily on your CPU - so if your CPU is having issues running at optimal speed, such as thermal throttling, then FPS drops will happen. Also, posters/rage mods are generally CPU intensive, so the GPU here is irrelevant unless you're running on a 4GB VRAM, and if that's the case, then you'll only lose textures, not FPS (for the most part)
