In Ireland there are a few options:

Chicken Burger: a pattie of ground chicken and spices, battered, cooked and prepared similarly to a regular beef burger.

Chicken Fillet burger: Fillet of chicken (typically breast) either battered and deep fried or grilled, served in a bun with toppings of cheese, onion, mayo, lettuce.

Chicken Sandwich: and variety of sliced or pulled pre cooked chicken, between two slices of council issue white bread. served cold.

Other varieties would be a chicken toastie, chicken baguette and chicken salad.

Yeah but, John Reggal in dis bitch is wrong.

The only case in which it is a Chicken "BURGER" is if the Chicken is in a ground patty form factor.

All other chicken between bread/bun combinations are Sandwiches.

Nah Homast is right, If its ground into a patty its a burger but if its straight friend or grilled breast (or tender or any non ground up form) it would be a sandwich

Its not!  Only americans call a chicken burger a chicken sandwich,

thinly sliced chicken meat on bread or bun = sandwich

Chicken in the form on a patty on a bun or bread = burger.

 

HOWEVER, at the end of the day they are both open face sandwiches.

Sometimes a Minced chicken patty just hits the spot or is more convenient.

For example, at a barbecue, you're not gunna have Fried Chicken readily available unless it's made in advance. a patty is quick to cook and painless!

But yes its a Chicken Burger as its between Burger Buns

its a Chicken Sandwich if it was sliced bread.
