  1. -1, as its an IC issue I'm currently halfway through my 18 month wait for Form C for a felony I committed when I was fairly new to the server, and is still my only felony on record. Its a good amount of time to build a story arc around for your character, but 12 months might be more appropriate. Again, its an IC issue.
  2. I think the current quantity of oil at each pump is fine, but only having 4 pumps open when there are 8 in the field feels weird. I'd be happy with opening the other pumps up if the floor price of oil was dropped a little bit, maybe to $60 or $50 per barrel to combat how powerful of a money maker oil is. That, or just re-buff Ore mining to make it 10 volume rather than 15
  3. This would be fine if car speakers worked properly 100% of the time. Personally I've had loads of issues with getting car speakers to actually play, and one of the things that helps sometimes is dragging them out of the storage of the car and back in. I feel like an action timer would only serve to frustrate any technical issues. If those issues were fixed properly though, +1

    Hi-Hats

I remember us meeting when we were both new on the server in mid 2019, running round causing trouble with that "New Player" tag, and now to see you building your own character story with some unique and top-tier RP is great. Can't wait to see and hear even more about the Clowns!
  5. +1 In other servers, the lock at speed system has never felt particularly intuitive for me, I much prefer the current system of selecting a speed and not being able to go beyond it. However, it is quite frustrating to have to type out commands when transitioning between road and highway, or the few spots where you go from road to highway to country road. Its much easier to just turn the cruise control off, which encourages IC speeding offences. Being able to bind different cruise control limits, or even commands entirely, just like you can bind radio frequencies, would be great. Maybe Alt + 1 - 9? I don't think that's used for anything currently, though I'm not 100%. With multiple options, you could bind all three speed limits on Alt + 1, 2 and 3 respectively, then have other binds such as /refuel, /gut, /vieworders or whatever you prefer. I'm aware this feature is already available (kind of) by using AHK, but implementing it natively would be nice.
  6. Yes and no, I think things need to be done more on an RP basis when it comes to Fear RP and not so much strict ruleplay, and the line for breaking Fear RP needs to be much clearer For example, say you're in a powered vehicle and you're at a stop and someone is pointing a gun at you. Realistically you're covered by a lot of metal, you can move much faster than your attacker, and you have a reasonable chance of escape. The act of actually attempting to escaping could be seen as breaking FRP, but could also be seen as not being Fear RP. Personally I think FearRP should apply the most when the victim is on foot without a means of escape, such as in a building, confined space, or they're surrounded. If its one person aiming a gun at another person in a vehicle, the line of Fear RP is much more blurred, but then you'd have people Non-RPing that they are 1000% safe in a vehicle like you used to.
  7. I wouldn't say to make it a NCZ, but rather treat it as a heavily populated area, such as the Pier. If you're a gang member and you get caught on a train by an enemy gang and robbed that should be fine, but having people camping the train stations to rob other people should be a Public Robbery rule breach. When it comes to evading enemy gangs or PD, I'm not sure. I like the idea of being able to hop on a train and evade a chase if you're smart enough to throw them off your trail for a bit, especially for PD as they'd likely follow the train and coordinate a block or a stop, but at the same time it could be treated in the same way as refuelling during a chase, as in it would be Non-RP
  8. +1 on the Inner City trains, -1 on the Paleto trains. The foundations of the system is already there for the in-city trains, all thats needed is people to drive them and the actual trains themselves, and making a faction for it sounds like a good idea. However, for the Paleto trains, its much more difficult IMO. The foundations are for cargo trains and not passenger trains, making it a little more difficult for the system to make sense RP-wise. However, I think this could be made easier by creating a freelance job involving the cargo trains, and creating a faction or allowing DCC to create a division that runs buses from the city to Paleto and back.
  9. Honestly yeah, I'd rather re-buff mining a little and add some more jobs, or at least career paths for the freelance jobs that offer salary improvements, better job vehicles etc. I wouldn't even mind if the price floor was lowered a little on Oil, its more for making it more accessible, less frustrating, and a bit more accessible for people that don't camp in RVs
  10. This is a pretty short & simple suggestion. Oil Mining has become very popular on the server, and the oil fields are quite often packed full of people mining oil. Even at the time of writing, at 9:30am BST, the field is full of people and all of the available oil spots are dry. This leads to quite a frustrating experience when trying to mine oil, relying mostly on luck and praying that people haven't touched the spot you've chosen in a while, though most of the time it instead leads to mining 10 or 20 oil, going dry, and having to stand around and wait. To improve this, I'd simply suggest opening up oil mining spots at the other drilling rigs. In the field there are 8 drilling rigs, though only 4 have the ability to be mined from. My idea is to simply add the ability to mine oil from the other 4 drilling rigs alongside the currently active ones. The current rate at which oil seems to regenerate in the hotspots seems fine, and increasing that rate runs the risk of the oil regenerating at the same rate it depletes, so having extra spots open at the same regen rate seems the best way to improve the job and make it less frustrating to do.
  11. +1 In my view, Character Kills should require approval and they should not be happening every day. They should be part of a wider storyline that encourages players to send their chosen character out in a way fitting his story, rather than just not playing them anymore, be that with the character permanently "leaving" the city, dying in a hail of gunfire, illness, suicide, or any other desired method.
  12. Reading the title of this post, I was ready to give it a huge -1, but I'm kinda torn. I don't think C4 is a terribly realistic weapon for gangs to be using within a large city, even the larger, well-established gangs. However, your suggestion to implement them solely as part of what would probably be a very interesting and in-depth RP scenario when permitted by admins is interesting. I would say to restrict it even more, and only allow C4 to be used during official faction wars, and only on the vehicles of gang leaders and second in commands or at their HQ. I kinda wanna give this at +1 but I'm still conflicted on it, so I'll lean towards staying neutral. I like that you put so much thought into the original suggestion and the revised suggestion though!
  13. Jason: Chapter 1 The details in this chapter took place between January and June 2019. A Splash of Colour Jason Vikern's first few days in Los Santos were fairly quiet. After acquiring a driving license, Jason opted to work some menial jobs, delivering money to ATM's around the city and packages to houses. The work was quiet and frankly boring to Jason, who began to somewhat miss the hectic times he'd spent with the Angels of Death MC in Liberty City. However, honest work pays, and Jason purchased his first car. After earning enough to sustain himself, Jason began to look into some more exciting roles he could take. He encountered two very strange men in a car decorated with cardboard. The men called themselves "Broccoli Rob" and "Cauli" respectively, matching their outfits to their names. Broccoli Rob bore a green outfits with a green sack mask, accompanied with a black bulletproof vest. Cauli wore a similar outfit in grey, trading the sack for a balaclava. These two had clearly been around town a lot, and even though they were extremely strange, were happy to show Jason the ropes of the criminal life. They taught him about the gang culture of the city, showed him how to cook LSD, and even selling Jason his first firearm. Even through this initial excitement, life eventually began to blur back into shades of grey for Jason. After the luster of reaching a new city had warn off, Jason found himself bored. After a few weeks of making drugs in the dead of night and trying to steer clear of the gangs within the city, Jason saw an advertisement on Weazel. "Ikigai-Gumi Needs You!" The message had a phone number attached. Jason sent a text to the number, curious as to the meaning of this cryptic advertisement. A day or two later, Jason woke up to a reply, explaining that Ikigai-Gumi was in fact a Los Santos branch of the Yakuza, a small and upcoming gang. After texting back and forth with the contact for a short while, Jason organized a meeting. A red and grey Sultan Classic pulled up at the bank with two occupants, a male and female. The window rolled down and a man in a large grey coat leaned towards the window. "You the guy I've been texting?" "That's me" Jason replied. Hopping into the car, the three drove a short while down the road, pulling up to an abandoned house just below the hills. Leaving the car with the two occupants and entering the house, Jason took a seat on the musty sofa, and the two people quickly introduced themselves. The male was Ringo Kihara, the apparent leader of the Yakuza, and Cleo, his second in command. Kihara ran through the rules and guidelines of the Yakuza, and what is expected of their members, along with showing him the mask they chose to wear. It was clear this was a small startup gang, nowhere near the same reputation as the Zetas or The Wanted, but Jason was still interested. The clear tenents of a close family and respect for innocents was something Jason could get behind. Life may have changed him, but to this day he had still never hurt an innocent, and had no such desire to do so. Jason agreed to join the Yakuza, shaking hands with both Kihara and Cleo and leaving the house together, now a prospect within the Yakuza. After heading to a clothing store and donning the mask, along with getting his BF400 re-sprayed, Jason hoped that he'd now found a splash of colour in his world of grey. Inescapable Black This colour didn't last long. After a few weeks with the Yakuza, it became clear that things were not well. Members were dropping like flies, the radio frequency was nearly always dead, and higher ups couldn't be reached. One of the higher ups Gavriel had left a week or two after Jason had joined. After an incident at bank one night, a masked man in black revealed himself to by Gavriel and introduced him to a woman named Ravyn Black. Gavriel explained that the Yakuza were at risk of getting on the wrong side of an organization known as "The Council", and hadn't been paying their tax. He told Jason he should jump ship and join the "Book Club" Gavriel was now a part of. Jason agreed and, after some small consideration, he let Kihara know that he was out, and they parted ways amicably. Jason began to hang out with this group, often riding shotgun with Ravyn, helping them to clear labs, assist group members, and chase down Russians. After a few weeks, he met a man named Gaige Michaels, a higher up in the organization, who offered to formally recruit him into the group. After calling a Parliament at the dam, Jason and another recruit named Chanty were questioned vigorously by members of the group. This included a full search of their phones, checks for wire taps and radios, and a long series of questions regarding loyalty, conduct, and knowledge of the city. During this questioning, Jason learned a lot. He had always been good at putting his ear to the streets and listening to the whispers, but he learned some of the essentials of criminal life in Los Santos. He learned of The Council, and their hold over the city, and how to avoid Detectives attempting to capture him. Whilst Jason was still relatively green, he was not afraid to say what he thought, and admit when he didn't know something. This clarity and honesty earned him some respect from the Parliament, especially when his response to the question "What if one of us here were working with the police" was simply "Kill them". This ensuing respect for his no nonsense and honest attitude resulted in a vast majority voting to recruit Jason. He was now an official member. Unfortunately the other recruit present, Chanty, did not make the cut, and took flight over the dam to the rocks below. Jason's world had been shades of grey for a long time, but now the grey was fading, replaced with an inescapable, tenebrous shade of Black. Jason was now a Rook.
  14. 1: PD/SD I personally don't think this is a good solution to the "issue" of PD/SD dying, waking up at MD and going straight back on duty. Maybe say "hey, do 20 minutes of desk duty" or something like that. Forcing players out of RP in general isn't a good solution. 2: Civilian jobs A lot of civilian jobs desperately need change, especially GoPostal, PostOp, Garbage and Trucking. They've been lacking for a long time, even just giving career tracks to each job that result in a 25% increase in earnings at the end of the path would be a great addition, though GoPostal desperately needs a new vehicle. The delivery van is abysmal at anything even slightly uphill. 3: Racism This has been covered a lot late,y, and it should really be moved to an given consent basis, not assumed consent 4: Official Factions Some of this is IC, some of it OOC. Triads have been a very visible gang in the city for a long time, with pretty decent RP at most times. Not sure about Aztecas, I was taking a break from the server during their rise to Official. There are quite a few official factions at this point, with only one or two being Anti-Council, but that is an IC matter. I think the path to Official needs to be a bit more clear than just "display consistently good RP", but I don't see much of a bias issue within the Official system. The Turfs update definitely suffered for the majority of people though, as 90% of that content was only accessible to Official gangs
  15. This is an issue thats always been a bit weird for me. On one hand I think that people should be able to RP whatever they want to, even if its as a racist character. However, the actual depth and quality of that type of RP would likely be extremely low. On the other hand, allowing racism on an assumed consent basis and relying on those who do not wish to experience it to revoke that assumed consent through /b is not a conducive environment to create a high level of RP and encourage people to make content on the server. Other streamers and content creators have mentioned it before, but having this assumed consent rule on racist language, even using the n word within a friendly context, creates unnecessary worry for anyone hoping to make content on the server. ECRP has quite a large player base, yet is extremely under-represented on Twitch and Youtube. Arguably the server doesn't need streamers to direct more traffic to the server, but more popularity can't hurt. You see the popularity of other RP servers being streamed on Twitch and Eclipse could reach that one day, but it needs to fundamentally change the ECRP culture, in terms of the assumed consent basis for racist language and the greater culture of RP to try to switch ECRP from a GTA RP MMO to a true, varied Roleplaying environment, though the latter is a conversation that can be had in another thread. As someone who streams ECRP myself on Twitch, and along with what some other streamers have said, its not nice to feel like you have to exclude yourself from certain scenarios and types of RP because someone might be too keen on saying the N word or other racial slurs, regardless of its in a malicious or friendly manner, and for me personally, enabling content creators to proudly stream and make videos on ECRP takes precedent over my opinion that people should be able to RP as even the lowest dregs of society. I'm not keen on this same conversation being had over and over again in different threads, but my personal opinion? Merge racism into the GrossRP rule that includes torture and sexual content, and make it a type of RP that can happen strictly under a given consent basis.
  16. +1. Chopping wasn't perfect before, but it definitely feels far too prevalent now, as it seems like vehicle theft is almost the best way to make money. I wouldn't mind that if there was more skill or difficulty to chopping, but in the current state, its almost too easy. I'm a big fan of the key system, which could be easily linked to the engine off and on buttons. This would require thieves to either steal the key too, or to hotwire the car, which could be a nice little skill-check minigame to keep criminals on their toes.
  17. Because VIP adds inherent pay-to-win or pay-for-advantage aspects to the game, be that making slightly more money than other to being able to win or lose chases due to the fuel consumption advantage. I'd also say to remove certain cars from the F6 menu, namely the Sultan RS and other high performance vehicles that allow people to skip any in-character grind by dropping IRL money onto the server. There are other ways to encourage people to donate to the server that don't involve offering such a tangible IC advantage
  18. -1. You can already track your vehicles using /showvehicles. If someone is driving it, it won't track. This can easily be RP'd as the satellite not being able to find it, or an outdated GPS system. Auto-lock is already a VIP feature, though I'd much rather see VIP be removed from the credit store and the benefits being allocated to different career tracks for freelance jobs, and across experience-based character progression. You shouldn't be able to remotely report your car as stolen with coordinates, this could easily be abused and seems a bit too powerful. I'd rather keep the tracker how it is, and instead add a hotwiring mini-game that increases the risk of trying to steal a vehicle in the first place.
  19. This is a simple suggestion: add a volume meter visible on the screen whilst holding any Push To Talk key, be it Proximity, Phone, or Radio. This is something that I could see helping wide swathes of the community, and is something that, though small, would be a good Quality of Life addition to the server, as it would show you the volume of what you're outputting, regardless of which talking mode you have selected. I've personally just bought a new microphone, an Elgato Wave 3, that runs all audio through a digital mixing software. Now when I start up RageMP, I have to fiddle with my settings to ensure that my voice is being heard properly in-game. This inevitably ends up with very strange conversations with my friends on radio or in person, with a slew of "Can you hear me? My throat is a bit tight this morning". Whilst I'm sure most people that play this game are using Plug + Play microphones or headset microphones, this eliminates the need to have this strange, borderline OOC conversations to ensure you can be heard. On that note, how often have you met someone at bank, be it a new player or someone with 100,000 experience, that is just too damn loud? It seems a regular occurrence. This volume meter would help to indicate this to the player, as clipping into the red would probably indicate something is too loud. Feel free to let me know what you think.
  20. This has been suggested a multitude of times, and its something that's good in theory but would be bad in practice, as everyone would demand their case is looked through and they're released early, or have their charges dropped. Therefore, I'd argue for a different system: Department of Justice would be set up with two channels, and automated system and a system governed by actual players. Automated: This would be the channel most people would go through. This would allow for prisoners to submit an amount of money to a lawyer that would work to reduce their sentence from anywhere between 25 and 50%, perhaps a random chance, perhaps depending upon severity of the crime. This allows people in jail for Murder or Armed Robbery to spend some of their money on a good lawyer to reduce their sentence, but it would reduce the assets available when they get out, thus facilitating earning more money after release. The only thing I don't like about this section is that it encourages more grinding for money, which I think the server really needs less of. However, it gives the prisoner in question the option to either save money and ride their sentence, or to spend a bit of cash and get out early. Staffed: This is where you'd see the most sizeable chunk of RP. Detectives and PD would submit evidence to a court system to hold a trial. This should only be used for large scale law enforcement operations, such as RICO cases, conspiracy to import drugs/weapons on a large scale, conspiracy to commit murder on a large scale etc. A jury would be selected from people with completely clean records (aside from minor traffic infractions) and the trial would become a spectator event, where members of the public can sit in the courtroom and watch the trial. This creates huge RP opportunities as a community, a large goal for Law Enforcement, and would also provide Weasel News with some interesting events to cover. This could even be backed up with, if agreed upon, OOC agreements between the accused that the accused character cannot be used for a period of time, assuming consent is given, to emulate a long jail sentence. This is something that should be undertaken very carefully, and should be something that the whole server can engage with, even if they're not the ones in the docks. The emphasis would be on Law Enforcement to ensure all the correct evidence is in place, the Court System to ensure a fair trial, and the Criminals to ensure they cover their tracks and recruit the right people, as a snitch could send them all down for a long time. A court system is something that really needs to be thought through carefully, especially one manned by actual players. I would like to see something like this come to ECRP though, as its something I've not seen before in any other RP server
  21. +1 I was thinking about this earlier. I'd definitely like a "take all" button. Having to manually drag a bunch of things from one storage to another (hunting for example) is a pain, it'd be much easier to just hit "take all" I also wouldn't mind shift+click allowing us to drop things.
  22. I'm sure the admins just wanna have fun, and I can't say I've seen stuff like this happen much before, but bizarre RP is still RP. Sure, two deer attacking PD in the middle of a huge city is weird, but it should be allowed, as its fun and fairly inconsequential RP. The only time I can say that I've seen anything similar is way, way back. I'd been playing the server for maybe 3 or 4 months and pulled into the gas station near the Pier on the highway. An admin/mod was there with his tank, swinging the barrel around and having some OOC banter, at which point he accidentally fired and blew up half the people at the station. We were immediately revived, but it was still funny both IC and OOC. However, given how strict some of the rules are, stuff like that shouldn't really be allowed to happen as it really blurs the line between IC and OOC. However, something like this is inconsequential and should be allowed to slide
  23. -1. Having actual hitmen for hire does sound cool, but when you consider you'd need to either get DM rights normally or ask for them OOC, it kinda removes the fun and mystique of it. The only time I could see hitmen for hire actually being useful is in an official war between gangs, but it should be extremely rare. It should not be something that gang member can order whenever they feel like it
  24. A massive +1. We all probably know that some other servers have functioning hospitals with MD staff waiting inside to tend to injuries. I don't know how possible this would be in Eclipse, but having something like this would be great. Hospital RP has always been a strange point, do you act like you're immediately healed? or do you continue to RP as recovering for a while? Having a cooldown timer and additional medical RP inside the hospital would be great.
