  1. Love the idea of opening the car washes. Players interact at LSC when the car washing happens but it’s not quite as interesting as it could be
  2. I don't have any idea why this was a thing. If they needed to change anything about the medics, it was implementing this change by MD Chief Samantha Tenbe. I don't want to assume to know what every single medic does but while Pillbox is a good MLO, there is little to no interaction to be had there and expecting there to be with the current system is wishful thinking. They do not have the numbers or the activity to stand idle at Pillbox waiting for patients. They get a lot of 911 calls and have to rush around the map to answer them. People get dropped off and they want to fuck off back to what they were doing before hand, that's the reality of it. This change just unnecessary inconveniences all players, not just the medics. It's like taking the SD Impound away, because it's going to drive activity to the city impound.
  3. I'll let you know when the update is finished.
  4. I'm apparently happy to let the server die but i've spent the last few months creating custom content for the server, not just for my own faction or gov factions but for the server. I'm apparently happy to let the server die but have three in-depth and well-received criminal suggestion threads that have been going for over a year. Even though i've been a cop for the majority of that time. My criminal experience is experience dealing with criminals but do those threads indicate I don't have an idea of what's needed to you? https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/topic/55570-cayo-perico-crim-eclipse-update/#comments https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/topic/58198-criminal-overhaul-20/#comments https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/topic/82451-the-criminal-update-iii-rulesdev/#comments I'm apparently happy to let the server die but have pushed and pushed the staff team and developers to add stuff for you, me and everybody else. To the point they're fucking sick of listening to me ramble on. As for the people in the criminal discussion group, you've got the Royals leadership, Shenzhen leadership, me, all the admin+ teams and a few other long term criminals have haven't spent months in crim factions but years. Well respected criminals, whose contribution isn't just about how much more money they can make. There was an accusation that the devs don't do anything. NBDY is doing nothing BUT criminal stuff right now. There was an accusation that the devs don't listen. It was NBDY's idea to create a discussion group with top tier crims on the server and he's putting in things based on their feedback of the issues. Some of the stuff in the last patch wasn't ideal, but that feedback got put forward and it's being acted upon. The stuff what is coming in the next part of the criminal update is going to ramp up the interaction in the server. I'm sorry for people that have lost money on the apartments, but they were no good for an RP server. I'm sorry for some of the factions that are no longer here but reality is, if you stay inside the rules and do the right things, you don't into situations. That said, it's easier to change the mentality and add new stuff for new factions to use than it is to reprogram older factions that have their own specific way about how the server should be. I have to be really careful about what I say as I'm on a final warning here but if you think I or anyone else involved in this stuff is trying to kill the server or wishes the server harm or anything like that, you know what you can do.
  5. Doesn't matter how they operate IRL. IRL means very little in Eclipse, especially on the criminal side of things. It was a bad mechanic for interaction and now it's gone. There's gunna be a temporary substitute solution to tide us over then probably the final thing when the drug update comes. For some of you this will be a bridge too far and you'll cycle out, that's why I think that those factions going around the time of the update is probably long term a good thing. It's easier to bring fresh factions through than to teach old factions new things.
  6. They weren't removed because they are unrealistic. They were removed because having people stashed away in interiors for hours was a poor mechanic for an RP server.
  7. What point is that exactly? You are forming an opinion BEFORE the update has been completed. You haven’t even had your mouth spat in yet, this is just holding it open ready. You could quite easily make the case that implementing smaller, more regular updates is better than going for an all at once update. Since it’s easier to manage. Some stuff in the update worked, some requires tweaking. There is an open discussion between the devs and the criminals, where they can give direct feedback which is something we’ve not had before. I’m sorry that me being well informed on what’s coming makes me unable to share your lazy opinion. If you want to be negative and pessimistic on your burner account, go ahead. But personally, I’ve gassed for the new updates. As for your staff comment, you’re 0 for 2 now.
  8. I'm really glad that you can share such pearls of wisdom on a burner account with three posts. Update isn't done, so quit your bellyaching.
  9. The reality is that you cannot please everybody. If I had spent a lot of money on an apartment lab and it was a great way to make money, I’d probably feel some type of way about it too. You guys asked for a criminal update, I asked for a criminal update and we are getting one and the important detail is that this is not done yet. What has been released is a third of what’s to come. The first update objectively seems like more of a balancing update or tweaks but the second third is where we’re adding new content to the server. Stuff that is actually really interesting and is the sort of update that will make the difference. The final third is the update to the drugs but that will be later on I assume. We have the foremost authorities putting their heads together on this. It’s not just NBDY deciding randomly to change x and y. There is real input from different areas of the server that deal with crim. I get why people might be sceptic but to be honest, even as a predominately police roleplayer, some of the planned updates are giving me a semi, they’re that good. Keep the faith and you’ll be rewarded in time.
  10. “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time." The community was crying out for change, for a year and a half and we're at the stage now where said content is finally happening and people still have to complain. People are forming die hard opinions over screenshots and taking the initial patch as how it's always going to be. It's a process and in terms of the criminal updates, it is one that isn't even half done yet. There are areas that do need to be tweaked but they will be. We have a discussion group with leaders of the criminal factions, some former faction leaders, some cops that regularly deal with crims so it's not one person deciding these things, it's a roundtable discussion. The update isn't just about adding new things, it's about changing how people operate in the server and naturally people are resistant to change. If i've built a super lab in an apartment and i'm making money hand over fist, I'm going to be upset that I can't do that anymore but at the same time, being shut away in an instanced world farming money does absolutely fuck all on an RP server. The over-reliance on bank robberies lead to an incredibly toxic atmosphere and I think when all the options are on the table for criminals, it will make a lot more sense. You just have to wait and see the big picture. I think it's also unfortunate that some of the factions we had recently are now disbanded but it also gives people the opportunity to create new factions and I think by the time we are finished with the updates we will be in a much, much healthier place. Not just for criminals but the community in general.
  11. If there was no consequence to never paying your fines, they would be pointless. If you fined someone for not paying their fines, again that would be pointless. Jail time is the only thing that makes sense at that point. The citation is a warning for something, the jail is the consequence for not paying attention to the warning. A three day window is going to depend on individuals. For example, if someone can only play weekends, they're potentially fucked, so changing it to seven days seems like a fair move for all parties and that's what we're after. It's not PD must win, it's that if you do something illegal and you are caught doing it, you get punished. If you don't do anything illegal, you don't get punished. If you don't get caught, you don't get punished but it's on you, not the cop. We react to you so the ball is always in your court.
  12. I find this thread baffling if I'm completely honest with you. You talk about suffering, it's fifteen minutes in jail bro, you're not being CKed. You talk about it not being good RP, it's a consequence of an IC action (to get the citation) and a consequence of another IC action (not paying the citation off). There is the opportunity there to report it for review etc.. But, what exactly do you think PD is winning in this situation? It's a $1000 fine, that the PD will see none of. It's not like PD would be confiscating the WMDs or re-capturing El Chapo. You know on the one hand, I think that extending the failure to pay charge up to a week (upping the fine to 1.5k/2k and being able to pay off fines via your phone would make sense for players but that's not my call to make. If you're in a gang, then the police gang units are going to look to pull you on whatever they can, that's their goal. Your goal is be how you wanna be and their goal is when that crosses the legal line, to step in and stop you. Don't matter if it's a speeding ticket or a murder charge. The only distinction to make is legal or illegal. There's no state of, you're just a victim of circumstance.
  13. Say less
  14. LifeInvader was a great idea, but it lags and it quickly fell by the way side. Adding a Lifeinvader Browser to the laptop in-game so you can actually read stuff would be nice as well in addition what Pazz suggested.
  15. This thread was and will continue to be answered in the upcoming criminal updates. We won.
  16. Just an update, @NBDY reached out this morning and we had a good chat about a few things, so hopefully we should see some progress!
  17. Something I've tried telling people is that there are a lot of people in PD and SD that want these changes for criminals to happen as well. Not just so that the server will thrive and the interactions with criminals will get better but in the case that they themselves want to play on a criminal alt. I include myself in that, I haven't done any non-cop RP for about a year and a half because unless you're in a group, it does seem nigh on impossible. PD / SD side of things could do with some love but to be honest, we'll get as much out of a criminal update as the crims do at this point. We have to catch criminals and stop crime, that's our role on the server and I understand that in doing so, we're putting you in some negative situations, both IC and OOC. Situations that might not be fun or entertaining so it's easy to think of us as the enemy out of character. But, I think sometimes it's easy to get lost in the sauce and not understand the other side. I'm not like some big criminal sympathiser or the second coming of jesus christ or anything, just three years in, I want the dopest fucking server. You realise that our server popped off when COVID hit, had 500-600 people at peak and then the following year things got actually pretty fucking bleak at times. Considering the amount of people that have stuck with the server throughout that time though when they could have gone elsewhere, tells you how fucking loyal our player-base is. If you look at it from that point of view, it only needs some basic updates for this thing to catch fire again. If you look at it from a business decision, if people are happy playing Eclipse, they'll throw money at it. So, whether it's making a good server to make a good server or even just wanting to make money, appeasing the community makes so much sense. I'd like it if my opinions and suggestions were taken a little more seriously, given how many ordinary people tend to fuck with them but it is what it is. I had my shot at advancing in the staff team and it wasn't a good fit for me but when all this mod stuff finally comes live, you'll see what we've been working on. That's an area that we're only now just getting into but the opportunities are endless for what we can do. I firmly believe that even with minor improvements, we can start getting 350.. 400.. 450 people again without breaking a sweat. You just have to play it right.
  18. I think the short answer to your question is yes, they are wanted. That being said, I can actually completely understand why you would question whether they are. To be real, ECRP doesn't do criminal very well anymore and hasn't for the past two years. I've spent hours and hours making suggestions and trying to offer advice to these man. Responded to threads like this. Pushed and pushed people making the decisions to make changes but nothing comes of it. I love the server but we're really poor at this criminal thing and for those that are interested, I'll explain why I think so. Staff Team People are passionate about what they know and are involved in. Almost all of our head admins are cop role-players. Almost all of our Senior Admins are legal role-players. Almost all of our Administrators are legal role-players. A lot of our Senior Moderators are legal role-players. A lot all of our Moderators are legal role-players. It's possible for people to have ideas and an interest in areas outside what they are involved in or enjoy but whether it's a case of time consuming or personal feelings towards the other side or whatever, it's easy for criminal stuff to get dismissed. Criminal Roleplayers are in my view, woefully represented. You're not going to push things that don't benefit you personally, that's natural but if there's not enough people to do it for crims, then you don't get stuff pushed. Rules The way we approach violence in the server really doesn't help. There was a point in time last year where ECRP was legitimately becoming like The Sims. People that did make moves were catching warnings left, right and centre. Some people call ECRP a Cops and Robbers server. It's not, it was a Cops and Civilians server. It has improved but it's still way off. Criminals have to have the freedom to do criminal shit. Criminal shit in a GTA RP server means fighting, robbing and building a reputation for being the baddest. Everyone wants to be the hardest, the deepest, the roughest, the toughest. That doesn't mean it has to be a DM fest but you got to address the balance. Think of it like a pan of water on a stove. You don't want it to boil and spill out onto the stove but you want that shit to be simmering. Reality is, shit popping off brings everyone into the mix and gets people active again. Script Burger Shot turned out to promote some actually good RP for civilians, Vending Machines are a nice touch but criminals NEED their content update so fucking badly. I don't even consider the criminal update to be just for criminals. Do you know how many cops are sick to death of the same bank robberies over and over? It feels like so many long time players are just biding their time waiting for this update to drop. It's a misconception too that criminals need a lot of shit adding, they don't. Get criminals out of apartment labs and cooking in the world again, in chop shops they set up and run themselves. BAM OVERNIGHT SENSATION. Get criminals setting up their own chop shop that they run themselves. BAM ANOTHER ONE. Add more locations to rob, even with the same script. WE'RE ON A ROLL. Prison It's a miserable experience for crims and it's selling a fantastic faction like DOC short by it being miserable for them too. A poker table that no one uses because it's obsolete, digging for ore in the middle of a concrete prison yard, alt tabbing to watch netflix or beating the shit out of someone for no reason to pass the time is not a good experience. Add the burger shot cooking to the prison. Allow crims inside DOC to play poker for a viable currency. Look at the many prison suggestion threads for other items. If the prison was better, criminals would be less OOCly hostile towards cops for taking them there. "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime' is a BS attitude to have as well. Going to prison for a criminal is like being stuck at the impound all day for a cop. Miserable and counter productive. An RP server is supposed to provoke you into roleplay situations, which you then manifest, not encourage you to ALT-TAB. Standard of Criminals A symptom of the above issues is some of the poor quality factions that we have rolling around today. I'm not going to be toxic and name names or dig people out but with each passing wave of factions, the quality seems to drop and becomes about trying to exploit the meta and all about trying to fuck over/beef the cop factions because they are the only real challenge or they take getting arrested so personal. The way criminals carry themselves at times is dead. You look at someone like Lola, who puts time and effort into her character and almost every action her character takes, makes fucking sense. None of this asking for badge numbers even though you don't want to make a complaint or whipping your phones out to record people for no reason. Maybe chatting shit based on how someone's voice doesn't match the character or jumping on cruisers or any of that dumb shit that makes no damn sense. I don't want to big people up too much but RPers like Lola fucking get what its supposed to be. Some crims don't help themselves or their factions with some of the bias in their threads or suggestions. End of the day, I've been almost exclusively a cop on ECRP for three years but I put as much time/effort into improving shit for crims as anyone. Better criminals means a more enjoyable server for me to play on. I'm really not the only cop that feels that way either, i think a lot of us want/need criminals to be better supported and be more interesting to interact with as a result. There is a real, genuine disconnect between the different departments in the community. Staff are predominately legal role-players and think criminals should behave in a way that criminals either have little interest in or they are incapable of doing so in a meaningful way. Criminals get frustrated and pissed off because they don't feel they are taken seriously, so they fuck around or make "state of.." threads. Ultimately, we just go around in circles until the next thread. That being said, we live in hope x
  19. There are already too many vending machines on the map as is, I wouldn't want it to become a meme where you just see vending machines every where. Not just visually but if there are vending machines EVERYWHERE, most people won't make any money.
  20. I'm currently in the process of re-texturing the Paleto Bus Station to look more like a bus station. I'm looking into adding some extra bus stops on the map but also, making it so the routes whether a Paleto or LS route will allow travel between pretty much the entire state where appropriate, so you could in theory take a bus to any of the main spots of the server.
  21. @Thang has actually made an excellent Camera and Binoculars script which he has offered to the founders. Here is an example of the camera in action, with working zoom.
  22. My suggestion for this is to pay attention. If someone gives you the wrong order then you take that IC, like you would at McDonalds. The Burger Shot employee fucking up your order is a roleplay opportunity.
  23. You do realise it's all digital though right? Points on your license isn't fucking braille is it? Also, where would the sense be in dropping off someone at a prison and then going back, putting yourself in danger to go into their cell just to suspend their license because you forgot? I saw some concerns about it being unfair that someone might get their license suspended 2-3 hours after a situation happened and while I'd agree, the amount of times that would happen would be very minor compared to the amount of times it would be done correctly. There should be no proximity limiter on the command but also, the demerits should not show automatically when someone shows your their license, it should be on the MDC instead. #MakeItMakeSense
  24. @Mister Patel My man, you think it's appropriate to be aliasing people like that? As for the OP's point, there is no right answer. If we didn't have limitations. people would abuse the fuck out of it and do all kinds of dumb shit. They already do, even with the limits. Admin team doesn't have a hive mind and you can only really in situations like you were in, go on your own gut. It's not like a forum report where 3-4 people debate on what the course of action is, sometimes you have to live and die by your decisions.
