  1. I dunno why we need it there period tbh. People know what server it is.
  2. Speaking as a Diamond VIP, dont see what all the fuss is about
  3. It doesn't change the outcome but the decision to remove private labs was made separately to the decision to add all these extra new locations. Paulius made the decision to remove the private labs and I suppose also made the decision to add the labs I gave to him, but the thinking behind what I wanted to achieve by adding new labs was separate. The thinking behind the new locations was to give people new environments to explore and break the monotony of the same old stuff at the same old labs. I'm a law enforcement roleplayer and have been for the entirety of my time here, I got frustrated with the accusations that my faction is camping places like the lab in El Burro. Now, in some respects some labs are easier to discover but it's also more difficult to camp labs because it's a numbers game anyway. Something I had to accept is that I can't please everyone and inevitably there is going to be some negative reactions or outcomes from this change. For those players that it negatively impacts you, I feel for you but at the same time, the vibe I've got so far is that it's a positive change. Time will obviously tell on that. As long as the majority of people fuck with something, I feel like i've done my job.
  4. ECRP might not have ever had the player base that WANTS to be discreet but they also never really needed to be. You could probably argue that Braddocks and Hole in the Wall were the most public because they're right along the main highway for SD but the others, they were pretty isolated and you could more or less do what you liked. There is nothing to say that factions can't shoot up a lab in the city, there is just more scrutiny if you do it. You would probably have to shoot and scoot, rather than stay and spray. A downside to the old labs is that because they are isolated, you don't really have a shot when you go to one of them because you can get robbed and shot without anyone having a chance to know about it really. But do it in a city lab? Maybe someone does notice. Another common accusation is that PD and SD patrolled labs. Now, whether or not that is true, that's incredibly easy when it's the same 6/7 locations for years and I could 100% see how the accusations of cops being in places they wouldn't normally be equals them meta-gaming. We could have put them all on the outskirts but then you might as well paint a sign that says drug lab. The plan, at least for me, is to add new locations and remove current locations over time, because look at what this has done so far. People seem to be very intrigued by the new landscape of things and I'm delighted with the overall reaction so far. I'm going to be honest with you, it sounds a little bit like you don't like criminals acting like.. criminals? I'm not sure what you expect from people, to be honest, especially if you've been here for that long. Try making a deal with factions, try playing smart with the labs, try all different kinds of alternative approaches but if you are expecting the server to accommodate you then you're going to be disappointed I'm afraid. The simple fact is, you shutting yourself away in a private property or before it an Apartment Lab does nothing for the server and only does something for you. Unless you happen to get careless, your lab won't blow up and it's basically free money. How is that not isolating? It's just very easy and very safe. Thanks to @Bakmeel and FM we have more official factions than we pretty much ever have, so why can't you maybe join up with one of them, if you're lonely? That is better for that faction, to grow by +1 member and it's better for you to have people to socialise with in general, besides doing just things like cooking drugs.
  5. I'll fix it for you and Rosalia @Milla70i
  6. I think you've summed up the thinking behind it for the most part. The other flip side of it is that, a lot of the server is just constant repetition. With labs it was like the same 6-7 places more or less and a lot of those places have been drug spots for 5+ years, so it's like hamsters running around a wheel. So, having not just different but in-world environments to do this stuff in is a fresh take on an old favourite. Plus, elephant in the room, there is an accusation that PD and SD camp labs, right? Now, whether that is right or wrong, adding an extra 30+ locations in some ways makes camping quite impossible. It also means that on occasion cops will probably find someone as there are more public locations too. I've had queries of why I'd put labs in the middle of the city and the answer is simple, to challenge you. If you wanna start shooting shit up like it's the Alamo and you're doing it downtown, what you think is going to happen? So, if one of those labs is in the rotation, you've got to keep a lower profile.
  7. I'm not a developer my guy, I just make holes in walls and put interiors in the holes. I fill holes @Ritchie Stones Bala the Hole Filler.
  8. Show me in the real world where someone respawns when they die, besides Jesus lol.
  9. Don't think it necessarily needs PD or SD being called but it's a decent idea. Just either piggy back it onto the civvie cars that get spawned, with you needing to steal a specific one or spawning a specific vehicle for this purpose. Steal it and take it to an Airport. Stay in the spot, like the old chop shop and wait for the timer. Car exported and money earned. Maybe the downside is that the alarm goes off a little longer or something idk. It's not something game changing but adds a little extra something.
  10. They're gone and they're not going to come back, I don't think. Will be a lot of new locations soon, to cook drugs however so see what comes from that.
  11. My sentiments exactly.
  12. Unfortunately, this won't be possible as our server has to be compliant when it comes to not using real-world brands on our clothing.
  13. Unless you've been living under a rock, the Clothing Update has now been released so I decided to set-up a discussion thread to discuss all things related to the update. What you liked, what you didn't like, what you hope to see from it in the future. If you find any game issues with the Clothing Update, please take a couple minutes to file a bug report as it helps both the modding and development teams with the improvements to the update. Obviously, it's taken a really long time but hopefully you will understand why. While I put quite a significant amount of time and effort into the update, I have to give massive thanks to @Arrta and @Timmaayy who helped shape the contents of the update. Arrta was especially influential when it came to the female clothing options but also, how the update was presented to the developers. Timmy was also a significant contributor to the clothing pack also. I'd like to give a special shout-out to the guys and girls that crunched through all the data collection over the past couple of weeks, we'd still be waiting if it wasn't for you devoting your time and effort to helping us with that. I will never see an open jacket the same way again. I'd also like to thank the bug testers over the past couple days as well, that have allowed us to get the update to this point. Finally, I'd like to extend a thank you to @Osvaldon for the development of the update itself, it was a significant undertaking and for putting up with the constant demands to release it. Anyone that knows what it's like to put a significant amount of work into something like this will know the amount of stress and pressure that goes into it. Yes, he's one of our developers but at the same time, some top tier stuff. Something important to note, in terms of hair and tattoos, a further but more importantly smaller update is planned to implement the same sort of customisation options as the ones showcased in the clothing update. Additionally, for faction lockers, greater customization such as categories for uniform presets as well as the re-implementation of different badges, armors and hats will be coming too. When you are able to, get in game, pick out a fit and some new hair. Let us know how you got on! ~ Bala, Señor Modder
  14. You can have bolties, if we can have drug tests. @Mpache @vecerrov
  15. +1, we must make it easier to tell if someone is police so it renders their undercover roleplay useless.
  16. I'd rather people couldn't do it but honestly, I don't really mind them listening to the regular channel. If you wanna hear people going to the Impound or asking for an field training officer, that's your kink buddy. That being said, knowing our player base as I know our player base, being able to transmit on the frequency is something that more often than not is going to lead to someone yelling stupid shit down the radio, as @IAmTurtle said. I'm sure there would be instances where criminals could make a play using it but those instances would likely only work on someone that has little to no experience in PD/SD. For those of you that care about realism, most, if not all law enforcement agencies are actually making the switch to using encrypted frequencies, which makes listening very, very difficult for two reasons. One is to protect people's personal information which is often transmitted over the radio and the second, is to avoid journalists and organised crime being able to use the information for their own ends. I shit you not lol. Listening in to a police frequency in 2024 is a little meh but you could suspend your disbelief on it. Being able to transmit though? Unrealistic and a poor game mechanic.
  17. When did I act shocked, lmao? It makes no difference if you are out to get me or not. As far as I'm aware, you're not one of those people leading JB and I know for sure you ain't one of the people leading PD or SD, so what is your experience of the process exactly? Do you have a criminal case pending? Were you previously in JB? I got no issue with people in-character saying that we're untrustworthy, that's pretty normal. It's when people like you start saying it out of character that it looks really quite foolish. Because if you look at the PD and SD leaderships, quite a large portion of the community's higher administration are high up in these factions. So, who exactly are we not trusting here? I have been disciplined and held to account by people like Pazz, Silky and Kris more than anyone else on this server. I have seen, experienced and been a part of holding our faction members to account consistently over the past four years. Doesn't work, lmao. Someone has proof of wrongdoing = person gets punished, within a week. Not only that, but these people have role-playing as cops on this server for half a decade or more at this point. Experience isn't just valid, it's essential. The reason why it's essential is because you not only understand what it is you are doing, you understand the server you are doing it for. The reason I mention that is from the beginning JB hasn't had the depth of personnel necessary for it to be as important as it is to the server. It's the same with SAAA, SAAA has lacked the tools to be able to be functionally beneficial for the server. My MO posting on here, is not to tell you how wrong you are. It is either for JB to change how it operates so that it is something more positive or we stop wedging it into the server and pretending everything is fine.
  18. I dunno Harley. People can't be trusted not to fuck around with fireplaces and we wanna give them no clip?
  19. It's because some twat decided to move the parking hut but moved it to the wrong location.
  20. Get the cases done in like a week or two, then the high profile ones, make a big event out of it. Then, for certain things where you have a trial, criminals can be given the death penalty and we get a public execution out of it. Fuck yeah.
  21. Updated, to reflect today's patch. We making progress, boys!
  22. I ain’t trying to go nerfing nothing, just you know.. we gotta keep the same energy on both sides of the fence right?
  23. Funny how there ain't no threads about that new Paragon that is one of the fastest cars in the game. There isn't really the same kind of energy on the other side of the fence. Now, I have absolutely no say what goes in or when it goes in. I wish that I did, but what I will say is that I wouldn't submit something that I felt was going to upset the balance because I care more about things being within the lines than I do about any particular side winning.
  24. @Quietthecutie This thread is not about criminals v. cops for me. It's about a system that was shoehorned into a server that doesn't know how to do it effectively and making it an important part of the process. If a limb turns gangrenous, you amputate, you don't leave it to spread. Other servers do court role-play and they do it better. That tells me one of two things. Either we do not have the sort of player base that can fully appreciate it or we do not have the individuals with the foresight to creatively tailor the system to the server, rather than the server to the system. It's not about cops or criminals winning decisions. It's about having confidence that a third party is going to reach an impartial and correct outcome, in a reasonable time-frame. Because anything other than that, has negative implications for a server that always wants the next thing. @Soupiestfork Reading is important. I didn't claim that mistakes do not happen, but at the same time, our Internal Affairs divisions do not fuck about when it comes to correcting mistakes. It doesn't take them months to arrive at a conclusion. In terms of metrics of mistakes, as I said, PD and SD are arresting like two dozen people a day, seven days a week with multiple officers arresting those people. There are going to be discrepancies but it's not indicative of any sort of corruption or even that it is a widespread issue that urgently needs solving. What is wrong with trusting people with 4-6 years of experience of policing on ECRP? Surely, if experience is a valued commodity, those individuals would be the richest ones. You think that Silky or Pazz or myself or whoever in the LSPD wants people getting the wrong charges? Fuck no. @tigerpet15 You know, there would probably be more time for basic field investigations if we weren't playing paperwork helper on the off chance JB is going to pick up a case or that we were playing evidence handler simulator in the storage cupboard. We might be more inclined to spend more time on a seat if there was more support for investigative roleplay too or if they people we interact with are able to give us more detail than just a three word /do or yelling into their microphone about how they are innocent. We cannot charge based on anything the script doesn't prove or that we don't personally witness either. We have to do what we can, with what we have available and then it's onto the next one. There simply isn't the time or the support for CSI: Los Santos. How do you fix JB? - You take a hammer to it. If there is something high profile, you can take it and run with it, as a server event otherwise you wrap it up within a week or two and move onto the next thing. The Mike Luigi and Hermann Wolff things are like Game of Thrones Season 8 at this point, when if they were finished after Season 6, they'd have been masterpieces.
  25. I think to an extent, the suggestion is somewhat pointless. Not necessarily because it's a bad suggestion, there is just feels like a specific criteria for who is actually kept banned and I can't see it changing. I've got a few friends that are perma-banned for different things, all of whom if they were given another chance would in my view, contribute positively to the community as they once did. At the same time, there are some individuals who were perma-banned but unfortunately were let back and even more unfortunately, there are some individuals who are not perma-banned that should be. That said, the goal of a ban isn't just to restrict the access of a particular player, it's to send a message and set an example to everyone else not to follow in their footsteps. I think everyone will have their own idea of what offence constitutes a permanent ban and what does not, right?
