  1. For best reading experience it is recommended to play the following song while viewing the Ballas faction thread: It is believed that the Ballas gang formed at some point in the early 1960's in Los Santos in an era where gang activity and crime were rampant in the inner city community. Originally the group was formed in a joint effort to combat what the local African American population felt was an overbearing, racist, and corrupt Los Santos Police Department, after decades of government mandated reform the Ballas are now known for their more recent bloody and violent opposition to another local gang known as Grove Street Families. Although the reason for the war between the two gangs is widely unknown, the two gangs struggled over turfs from the early 1980's to the early 2000's however the train tracks now serve as a clear divide between Grove Street and Jamestown Street and the gang on gang violence has been dormant in the wake of movements such as Black Lives Matter. The Ballas are known in the street as being responsible for the death of Beverly Johnson mother of notorious Grove Street leaders Sweet and CJ in 1992 sparking an increase in gang on gang violence in the area. The Ballas have moved around throughout various areas of Los Santos in various groups known as sets. Some notoriously violent groups such as Rollin Heights Ballas, Temple Drive Ballas, Jefferson Ave Ballas, Front Yard Ballas, and others have made a name for themselves but have been eradicated by either gang war or incarceration. Presently there is only one active set of Ballas within Los Santos known as the Jamestown Hood Ballas. Around Jamestown gang life is not easy but it does come with its perks. Growing up in poverty in the Jamestown Community Projects offers low-income home for many of Los Santos poorest residents. Children and young teens are often exploited and used for criminal activity at a young age due to lenient sentencing for minors. The Ballas are known to exploit its younger members having members work the corners selling drugs, participate in robberies and theft, and being scapegoats or distractions in binds with police. Gang members participate in several activities such as playing dice in the alley ways behind Jamestown Street, involving themselves in the Hip-Hop and EDM scenes through music from artists such as Youn$ Dro, and showing off their low-rider vehicles and other cars accented with Ballas Purple. Members often conduct front jobs such as delivering for the postal service or simply live on welfare. If they represent the hood well, they may be put on payroll by the local gang leaders or be cut in on the more profitable illegal activities. Members of the Ballas have been known to have deep roots in the drug trade as well as arms trade, however they are known to be focused on profitability rather than bloodshed. Interaction between the Ballas and the local Los Santos Police Department have died down recently as gang violence also has plummeted in the area. Many believe this is due to modern day Los Santos street gangs focusing more on black community activism, anti government movements, and police brutality. The Ballas are known for their fanatic love for the color Purple, also referred to in slang as Burple short for Ballas Purple. Although purple is their color of choice, it cannot be used to accurately identify members of the gang due to the fact that local thugs will enforce the purple dress code within the community regardless of if they represent the Ballas gang. If local residents of the community are found without some sort of purple attire they are likely to be harassed, jumped, or robbed by the local thugs. Likewise, visitors of the area are also at risk if they enter parts of the city claimed by the Ballas gang. Ballas commonly refer to ones purple clothing or accessories as their grapes. Gang members are often under the influence of a grape drink known as syrup or lean which they sip out of styrofoam cups which is typically a concoction of prescription grade promethazine, grape juice, and sprite. Full fledged members of the Ballas gang will receive a purple bandana also known as a rag which they're required to keep with them to demonstrate their affiliation. Ballas members can be spotted rocking the Los Santos "B" baseball team logo hats and tattoos as well as tattoos sporting their sacred Mother Mary whom is at the center of Ballas cult like religious beliefs. Jamestown Community Projects are a set of low-income housing projects in the lower south side of Los Santos. These project buildings leave a lot to be desired in terms of living conditions but provide extremely cheap means of housing for new city residents which the gang uses to its advantage often forcing low-income residents to pay illegal taxes for owning property within the gangs turf areas as well as recruiting low-income members whom are often easy to exploit with the profitability of illegal activity in Los Santos. As mentioned, Ballas will enforce all community members to fly the purple gang colors even if they are not affiliated with the gang. Jamestown Street's 504 and 514 blocks are notorious for illegal gang activity. The project housing located on the 504 block provides cheap housing for illegal activities such as trap houses, whore houses, and drug manufacturing which is difficult for police to keep track of and monitor. All in all, the Jamestown Hood Ballas are spread along the lower south east side of Los Santos and are known for their fluid living situations, often having large trap house group homes as well as several stash locations. Members often switch housing with other members or family members on purpose to throw off Police task forces. The Balla Code is the set of OOC rules the Ballas faction expects every member to adhere to at all times. Heavy roleplay is expected from all members of the faction which means you are required to be in-character at all times and keep OOC chat to a minimum. We expect your character to have his or her own background story that you're able to roleplay in game. We do not recruit members via OOC means, if you wish to join the faction you'll need to create a character and find us in-game on your own accord to initiate roleplay with our faction. Attempts to PM faction leaders or members to join the gang will result in immediate rejection. Every faction member is expected to adhere to all faction rules and Eclipse RP server rules at all times. Violating Eclipse RP server rules may result in removal from the faction on an OOC level. If a faction member is punished by an Eclipse RP server admin they're required to report it to the Ballas faction leader with their explanation of the events and how they plan to avoid further issues. Faction leaders (O.G. / Don) have the ability to initiate a CK of any the faction members if they deem necessary. A faction member will be notified of the CK upon being killed by a faction leader. In the case of the CK being carried out successfully, the faction member would be removed from the faction and the character would be effectively killed off from all past interaction with the gang. The entirety of this faction thread is OOC and no knowledge from this thread should be used in-game by any players. STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION
  2. Very nice! Looking forward to seeing your factions roleplay in game.
  3. The idea is that we're supposed to be role playing a character, who has their own unique story. RPing one character leaves everyone trying to make their one guy the head honcho. There is something liberating about RPing a homeless man and accepting consequences that are realistic for your character, for example. Not many do this as it is because they don't have the imagination yet but once it starts, it will be contagious.
  4. First of all, i'm not personally offended nor do I care to hold a grudge against you (or any player) over a forum post or two, but I will say your post is short sighted and disrespectful. I can't understand how you don't think calling the staff team "half assed" doesn't at minimum appear to be an attack, and while it may not be aimed at me, I will defend the countless hours of VOLUNTEER work and effort that the staff team puts in every single day and make it known that you're wrong about how your suggestions would manifest in terms of changing the admin team. Being able to fluidly transition between roleplay and answering a report, as I mentioned, both gives players quicker access to admins, faster response times, and allows admins to not feel like they manage their time. Foricng them to choose between their admin duties (which there isn't always reports to handle) and enjoying RP (they are players too) will not provide benefits to the community and diminish the motivation and effort put toward admin duties as a whole. My question is, is there even an issue that this would resolve or is it an arbitrary change? Have you ever ran into a situation where an admin didn't handle a situation properly because he left to go RP in the middle of a situation? At the end of the day, the reality is, roleplay comes and goes, reports come and go, there is never a time where it's certain there will be an endless supply of either to focus on, and as such we allow flexibility for our staff to deal with a dynamic environment. You continue to bring up the fact that i'm "dismissing", "disregarding" or "ignoring" your ideas, however I've mentioned SEVERAL times in both posts that opportunity to improve is great and something we are working on constantly. I might not give lengthy thoughtful replies to each of your suggestions but the suggestions thread is monitored and considered. Again, you're not being dismissed, you're not being silenced, you're not being mistreated in anyway though you continue to act like it. What issues are being ignored??? You haven't even brought up an issue other than RP quality, which again is being improved constantly, and we have a new rule book edition being published to the community in the near future. In no way are we "complacent" with the server nor saying we're not putting effort into our continuous improvement. You're trying to take my disagreement as if I am against all forms of change or something when i've clearly stated we probably agree on the fact that RP quality can improve greatly but that it's your disrespectful and dramatic delivery that I disagree with. I don't mean disrespectful toward me either, I won't be losing any sleep or anything, but as head of administration team I will provide insight on all the hard work that is being done which you don't seem to give any credit for in any of these rant posts you regularly post. You say you can find more evidence... literally you can go to ANY roleplay server and find examples of people not role playing or violating a rule. It's part of how they function. In no way does 1 video, or 20 videos compiled over a period of time, indicate that the server is in a tailspin. If anything, it might indicate we need a stricter entry process, but it's certainly not caused by admins being able to answer reports / questions by switching between RP and admin duties, nor the fact that we banned cyber hackers who were sharing community members personal information in a faction discord. It's certainly not because we are on Rage MP either. Your original base we can agree on but your suggestions have no relation to it and just appear to be the thoughts of a pessimistic person. Your idea for a solution is a conversation between us... but you never reached out via PM and I already mentioned my inbox is open to all including you. It was your choice to post this thread and use this platform... not mine. Feel free to PM me or ask for a voice conversation at any time, you and anyone else in the community. My door is always open.
  5. You're entitled to that opinion, as are the rest of the community members who may agree or disagree with you, but I am just pointing out that you have no basis or facts to back up your claims other than an anecdotal video which has been resolved through players / staff already in the past. Your "opinion" gets posted in the form of a negative pessimistic rant every 3-4 months and its my opinion that the community doesn't benefit one bit from it. Make the suggestion that we should have more RP hubs, make the suggestion for an event idea to increase RP, run an event yourself, sure. However, saying the server is "going downhill" because you found 1 video of a guy who got DM'd which wasn't related to you what so ever, and calling the admins "half assed" while basically stating the only thing they could improve upon was "response times" which are very quick in most cases there's an admin online, is simply a couple baseless and insulting claims. Things are bad in your opinion. We get it. Making giant threads about it doesn't make it true though. No one treated you like you can't have an opinion but did you expect to make a forum thread and not get a response? You act as if we don't have tons of new features on Rage already and that we're not building more. Content wise it means EVERYTHING. It's not just a car its a Model T vs a fully modifiable modern vehicle. If you don't like the development of the server thats fine and dandy but 99% of the population is extremely happy with our transition to rage and you're more than welcome to download GT MP and try crashing 15 times in an hour again. I personally love Rage MP. The transition was well worth the wait and effort put in. I don't think anyone in this community would go back to GT MP even if they HAD to. You couldn't pay me to play a GT MP server again after this. While your entitled to your opinion on speed of development, you're just flat out wrong in saying Rage means nothing. We get that you want things to happen for you over night but this post changes nothing in terms of development speed or direction. What improves that is positive ideas not arbitrary changes like with how admins answer reports (which isn't an issue afaik, please provide me with an instance where response times were an issue if you have one.) when you're no more knowledgeable about how admins deal with things than a brand new player. Your ideas are probably rooted in some agreeable idea that we all want better RP but being a toxic negative person, calling an entire community "downhill" calling an entire staff team "half assed" and claiming your opnion is the opinion of all criminal groups is both unhelpful in terms of the problem but also probably discourages new players from investing time here after reading. There's nothing wrong with response times but if I was looking into a new game server and saw this rant on there about admin response times I would assume there was an issue with it - Yet there most certainly isn't. Same can be said about anything. If you post these negative dramatic forum posts, it puts people off. Now with that being said, no one locked your thread, no one told you not to share your opinion, no one stopped you from playing the game so please quit with the "i'm like a jew in nazi germany" discord comments, or posting pictures of journalists being beheaded replacing my icon with the be headers face and putting yours as the beheaded victim. You are being absolutely more dramatic than anyone cares to buy into. This is a game and me not agreeing with your opinion and sharing why I know you're wrong about your claims isn't comparable to murder, terrorism, or genocide. You're not even being silenced in any way. There is more roleplay, and I already stated roleplay both has improved and will continue to improve as we progress as a community like we've been doing, and there is plenty of evidence out there suggesting that RP is important to all groups on this server when that wasn't necessarily true at all times before. We will be continuing to put out ideas, this post is in no way saying we're not listening and not going to add anything else to the server, but posting that things are opposite of how they are is misleading and untrue. RP has never been better than it is today, while it is still in an early stage and has plenty of room to progress and improve, we aren't going down hill in any sense of the phrase. As to the last comment, my "echo" chamber... think what you want but I literally have an open inbox to the entire community, and do my best to answer everyones questions comments or concerns, even yours! Yes, I do enjoy playing here and a big part of that is the quality roleplayers I surround myself with for sure. This community wouldn be what it is without its outstanding people. I roleplay with nearly every member of the community through IC events and just hagning around as well. In no way am I ignoring you, infact I spent the time to write out both of these responses. Just because I don't agree with you that the server is doomed doesn't mean we're not working to continuously progress as a server, staff team, and community every single day. Thanks for your thoughtful opinions Andor, but please feel free to post concrete suggestions that would be a solution to the problem in the future rather than making blanket statements that the server is doomed, staff doesn't do their job, community is "sour" or upset in just the same way you are, etc.
  6. Remember when you said the server was dead a few months ago, and we just hit 100 players this weekend again? We're clearly growing & improving and its really sad to see your negativity spawning up in yet another rant post to the community rather than spending the time on productive RP ideas that you're so concerned there's a lack of. 1. Are you honestly joking? You think the RP now is worse than when we had 200 extra completely non-english speaking players who refused to answer any /me's or /do's because they couldn't even create an English sentence? Or after that in the Savage ages where they would knock down people repeatedly with cars keeping them ragdolled while shooting out of their driver seat? You must honestly just be upset over one situation because the level of RP on this server is at an all time high. Not sure who you're playing with tbh. That's not to say it can't improve 10,000% and become even more immersive, but that takes time and community effort in the opposite manor as this post. We have come an insanely long way over our 1 year of the sever and its silly to me that as a veteran player who claims to have "seen all the phases" you don't see the drastic improvement we have made over the past year. You seem to post and write as if we've stopped developing the server in some way. As if we didn't just transition to an entirely new platform and re-script the entire server for the community which will provide a platform for the best RP environment out there. How about a huge thank you rant for Nobody who literally spends hours and hours of his day coding your game experience to be the best it can be? Gangs have PLENTY of opportunity man, I have been on my gang character RPing a bunch in the last couple weeks and plan to continue. We've thrown parties on yachts, in clubs, we place dice in the alley ways, we do drugs together and RP watching the NBA playoffs. Your RP is limited to your OWN imagination. Be the change you want to see in the community. "Safe Zones" in the context of literal chunks of the map that are safe for an arbitrary OOC reason are completely metagamey, mix of ooc/ic, and breaks realism in my opinion. Also, we do have several safe zones... did you forget about those? No, they're not all RP hubs but there are some like the poker room, but if you want to do an event and have admin assistance to enforce a no crime zone for an event or period of time that's well within your reach as well. Lol again with the "we kick and ban criminals because they shoot people" you are making me laugh for real man. Name literally ONE person who was kicked or banned of "just shooting people". Yeah, if you go around deathmatching you'll probably catch a DM punishment, but we hardly ban people because they are criminals. I shoot my guns quite regularly thank you very much as do many of the criminals. I just don't do it at innocent people, or people who called me "stupid" or people who drove their car into mine as they're backing out. If you're talking about the savage bans, they literally cyber attacked community members and 100% of the people who returned (about 75% of the people whom were banned, most of which within 1 week) all will back me up in saying that they understand completely why we did what we did after knowing the full truth so you can continue to sit there and play arm chair server administrator but our community is safe and running smoothly, thank you very much. "This created a sour feeling with gangs" oh you speak for all gangs on the server? Cause I enjoy my RP quite a bit thanks. You led weasel news (albeit corruptly) and act like you've RP'd everything there is to RP in gangs. Have you RP'd a mexican gangster who drives lowriders? Have your RP'd an african american gang member in the ballas or thought about reviving Grove? Have you tried making a realistic Italian mobster faction? Have you tried literally any of those things or are you sitting on the same character(s) RPing no backstory waiting for others to create a world for you and posting how it makes you feel sour when the updates don't force RP for you? 2. What sort of direction are you looking for? We -are- still planning a second criminal update but again that takes time for development and patience within the community. Positivity and additional ideas for it would help more than this thread. Secondly, rage means nothing? That's literally so disrespectful to the time Nobody has spent re-scripting this entire server to provide a more stable, more synced, easier to load, easier to customize, server experience for you and everyone who plays with us. For someone who sits there and touts how long you've played on the server are you literally going to sit there and say Rage MP isn't 100x better than GT MP was? It is YOUR choice if you feel your character needs 8k an hour rather than 1.5k granted to you. There is 0 challenge unless you are upset that you don't have a super car and an AK all of the time in the game, and in that case, yeah you're going to need a job not welfare to provide expensive illegal weaponry and super cars. Don't talk about super cars as if you don't drive one yourself either. Again, an economy update isn't out of the question, but again those things take time and planning and if we're doing it we're doing it right which means a lengthy planning stage, development stage, testing, and then release. You can't have everything you want over night if you're not willing to even attempt to create your own role play experience and an experience for others. The server is headed in a most wonderful direction, and I couldn't be more hopeful of the opportunity Rage MP has opened up for us. Be part of the solution and the change rather than "being sour" and claiming everyone else is. 3. Yeah the community is great. I can go on the best RP server and find a video of someone deathmatching, does that mean the server is in a down fall because you found a video of someone else getting DM'd? Do you even know anything about the video? Did you know the players compensated the guy and helped him around the server the next day and apologized already? Do you know they've been punished by server staff & by their faction leaders? No, you're talking out of your behind from a place of 0 knowledge because you can't be positive about the server when you have a bad day. 4. A half assed job after you literally just posted in your first point that you liked the service an admin provided to you, lol? In what aspect would dedicated admins change how any of the player reports or handled? In what way is it a "bad way of going about it"? Is that just an opinion or do you have a reason for thinking that way? I invite you to please give me any specific instance where a situation was mishandled or how an admin could have done better and we'll see to it that situation is reviewed and a policy is put in place if there's something we've not come across yet. Bashing an entire admin team off theoretical "bad ways of doing things" is a bit much. You literally provide another alternative without saying a single con of our system or a benefit of your system other than admins get higher ranks based on dedicated admin hours as if we don't answer every single report we can possibly manage to answer already or something. Constructive critsism would be great, rather than pure baseless claims. Response times would most certainly be slower if we had 1 admin alone handling all the reports and a 2nd admin not caring about them playing along. First of all, we DO have people who go on aduty 100% until all reports are resolved, and we DO have admins who are in the middle of RP and are allowed to continue their game play without answering reports. Making a divide of you can't RP at all when being an admin, and you can't be an admin when you RP, literally would just make less admins available to you. As it is right now, when a report comes in, we answer it, having 2 people able to answer it is much better than 1 dedicated person because guess what, we don't get just 1 report at a time OR we have answered all the reports and there is nothing to answer for 30+ minutes. We don't get paid, we do this to help the community, we dont work shifts where we are zombies waiting for the next report to come in but we do handle every single report that comes through to the best of our abilities in a timely manor. We handle them as a team and actively watch reports from OOC on discord which as a bot that relays in game reports. "Half assed job" and your ideas were to improve response time, even though your idea would surely decrease response time. I think you're being a bit overly critical without any evidence or knowledge to back up your claims. Also, great job citing an admin who literally hasn't been with us for over 6 months as if there's a current issue with the staff team. You're a real killer with your anecdotal claims. Don't know about the rest of the community, but that's what I think, after being here even longer than you and seeing 100% of what goes on behind the scenes of the server. Literally 75% of super cars outrun Police Cars. Please don't get it wrong, the police didn't start out with those vehicles, it is in direct response to the fact that 80% of criminals have a sports car or super car and do not value them as if they were expensive. Police Cars, if you want them stock, wouldn't stand a chance even against a van with a turbo charger, and everyone upgrades their vehicles to the max. Now, when we fix the issue with super cars being over used in the coming future, we'll also be looking at toning the police cars to a lower level as well. Please don't act like PD caused everyone to buy super cars though, that's so backwards.
  7. Hello Eclipse Community, I'm curious to know, do any of you have ideas for staff-managed community events? Some that we've had in the past are submarine treasure hunts, hunting events in the woods, plane crashes, and others. What are some of the ideas you guys have?
  8. PM NobodyLTU on discord if you're interested in assisting with development work.
