Relatively simple, create an "Official Press" or similarly named subforum under the "In-Character" category on these forums. Given that Weazel News as a faction, for example, puts in plenty of effort from many different people when making newspapers, I don't believe they should be tucked away and hidden behind a bunch of other subforums. Players shouldn't have to click on Weazel News on the forum to find the "Newspaper" forum. In fact, because it's so hidden, I can guarantee you the vast majority of new forum users wouldn't even know unless they specifically clicked the Weazel forum section out of interest or because of job opportunities IC. You can then also give access to factions such as LSPD, LSSD, LSEMS, SADOC, etc. beyond Weazel News to post a copy of their press releases there, so that they aren't just limited to the government forums and are more accessible, because sometimes they just might have information that is relevant to a wider audience that might browse the main forum but not the government forum. The argument could be made that most "core players" that already know and want to know of these things know where to find them, be that in the weazel section or the government forum, but this won't take more than a few minutes to set up by server management and it'll at the very least make weazel's releases easier to find.

Date and time (provide timezone): 09/JUN/2024, 09:45 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: When the chat is set to the max line number, which is 20, the last few lines conflict with the placement of the mini MDC, at least on my resolution which is 2560x1440, resulting in the mini MDC obstructing the chat. Expected behavior: For the mini MDC to be below the chat and not obstruct the chat lines. Currently, at least on 1440p, it is not centered, so perhaps just center it on the side of the screen, which should be under the chat and would resolve the problem with relative ease. Please don't reduce the max chat lines, just move the mini MDC instead! Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Set your chat lines to 20 and open the mini MDC. Vehicle license plate number*: N/A.

Date and time (provide timezone): 09/JUN/2024, 08:53 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: When opening the apartment management menu for permissions, I noticed the only player with permissions still displayed their old name ("Ashley Quinn"). I then thought it may be based on name as opposed to whatever ID is assigned to a character, so I attempted to add her under her new name ("Ashley Flores"), which brought me back to Ashley Quinn, her old name. Unsure if relevant, but the name change was by an administrator and not the credit store. Expected behavior: The name should be adjusted and reflect the current name of the character. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Add a player to your apartment with permissions, change their name, and check the list of characters with permissions. https://streamable.com/px410b Vehicle license plate number*: N/A.

Date and time (provide timezone): 08/JUN/2024, 17:09 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: When in the helicam and locked onto a vehicle, it is static at 0 kmh, or displays the accurate speed for ~1 second before going to 0 kmh. Expected behavior: Speed should be displayed accurately, or semi-accurately. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Get into the passenger seat of a helicopter with a helicam, open the helicam, and lock onto a driving vehicle. Vehicle license plate number*: AIR-1, I suppose. But no personal vehicle associated.

This has been fixed and can be archived, thanks!

Date and time (provide timezone): 08/JUN/2024, 16:45 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: When in the helicam, you cannot use VOIP. Expected behavior: You should be able to use VOIP. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Get into the passenger seat of a helicopter with a helicam, open the helicam, and try to use VOIP by pressing N or M. Vehicle license plate number*: AIR-1, I suppose. But no personal vehicle associated.

Date and time (provide timezone): 08/JUN/2024, 16:26 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: Multiple players can open the helicam at the same time, and the most recent player might actually take control from the previous player. Expected behavior: When one player has the helicam opened and enabled, no one else should be able to open it; especially not take control from them. Only one player should be able to use the helicam at a given time. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Enter a helicopter with multiple passengers, all press H and take control of the helicam, one by one. Vehicle license plate number*: N/A

Date and time (provide timezone): 08/JUN/2024, 16:13 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: Helicam spotlight may not be properly synced at all times. Initially, the spotlight was not visible on the end of the other player(s), then after some time (and potentially trial and error by @MrSilky and @Gaz.), it ended up working, but it did not initially. Expected behavior: Spotlight should be properly synced for all players. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Approach a crowd of people, preferably someone in screen share, and attempt to enable the spotlight. The below screenshots were taken at the same time. Vehicle license plate number*: AIR-1, I suppose. But no personal vehicle associated.

Date and time (provide timezone): 08/JUN/2024, 16:05 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: When pressing NUM 5 to enable the spotlight, it works fine. However, if you then press NUM 5 again, it doesn't disable the spotlight as intended. Instead, it takes away my control and it no longer follows my aim, but it stays enabled. Expected behavior: Pressing NUM 5 the first time, should enable the spotlight. Pressing it again, should disable it. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Get into a helicopter, press H, press NUM 5 to enable the spotlight, then press NUM 5 again in an attempt to disable it. Vehicle license plate number*: AIR-1, I suppose. But no personal vehicle associated.

Date and time (provide timezone): 08/JUN/2024, 16:00 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: When you lock onto a vehicle with helicam (SPACE) and exit back out the helicam (H), the spotlight is supposed to come off, and the helicam is supposed to "break". Instead, if the spotlight is on and you're locked onto a vehicle, then exit the helicam, the spotlight will keep tracking the vehicle, no matter what, even if it is meant to break line of sight. Expected behavior: When the helicam is closed, the spotlight should be disabled. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Get into a helicopter, press H, lock onto a vehicle, press NUM 5 to turn on the spotlight, then close the helicam with H again. It will keep the spotlight tracking the vehicle, whereas it is supposed to "break" the camera and spotlight. Vehicle license plate number*: AIR-1, I suppose. But no personal vehicle associated.

We've honestly been asking for these things for months now, and it's kind of overdue at this point. The fact is that the simple addition of which impound someone is at can significantly improve response time and provide more clarity to LEOs. I'll share here, what is on the LSPD's development request for the impound that affects both LEOs and non-LEOs.

Admins should not adjust the weather back to sunny just because it started raining. Only for events that require a certain kind of weather setting or for thunderstorms that are obnoxiously loud, and even then, those should only be adjusted if they last too long. Frankly put, it is extremely backward and forceful. Just because a senior administrator doesn't like the weather, you shouldn't get to decide that I don't like it either and don't get it on the server. I get that we're meant to be in Los Angeles, California, but it's part of the game, the atmosphere, and the roleplay. Stop forcing your personal weather preferences on me and other players who don't mind a little rain sometimes.

This literally used to be a thing. I kid you not, we were so advanced in 2017 that it even informed you that you missed # text messages in chat upon logging in on a character. Shocking! Both of these things need to come back, IMO.

Date and time (provide timezone): 05/JUN/2024, 15:41 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: When typing, you can no longer select everything you've typed so far by pressing CTRL + A, likely after the most recent development post indicating that "CTRL + A selecting everything" was fixed. Given this update, I'm not sure if this will actually be seen as a "bug", but in the previous chat, you were able to CTRL + A to select all typed text in your input box and not select the chat itself. Expected behavior: To be able to select all typed text in the input box by pressing CTRL + A. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Type something after pressing T and try to select whatever was typed by using CTRL + A. Vehicle license plate number*: Not relevant to vehicles.

Date and time (provide timezone): 11/MAY/2024, 15:33 UTC Character name: Elena Flores Issue/bug you are reporting: When you provide a duration for auto lock that does not fall within the 1-10 second range, it prints a message in chat informing you of such. However, in said message, "between" is spelled as "betweeb". Expected behavior: For the message to have the word "between" and not "betweeb". Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Set your auto lock duration to 11.

I don't think this is a fair or feasible expectation or rule to force onto a majority of the player base to catch a specific group of players in actions that should be investigated and integrated into the anti-cheat by the developers and administrative staff. I can appreciate that while the intention behind this suggestion is entirely well-intended and pure, it feels like it's taking away responsibility from management and developers and instead passing it off to players to sort themselves, which frankly is a far too common thing on this server. I concur with this.

The chat needs an entire overhaul to begin with, not just the ads, but they do play a large role. Ads are incredibly inconsistent due to personalization and individualism. There's a reason a vast majority of SAMP servers (and their current GTA 5 continuations) have used a single color (the green shown in the screenshot posted above) to allow for easy differentiation. They either need to be consistent, not a sensory overload of emojis and 20 different colors, and toggleable, or moved to phones entirely. There are plenty of servers to take inspiration from who have opted for a toggle system where you either see it in chat (in green to make it easily distinguishable text) or as a small non-invasive temporary pop-up on the side of your screen or phone when a new ad is posted. The department radio used by legal factions has an orange tag, orange names, and orange text. This makes it very easy to distinguish from other text in the chat. I don't know why this isn't applied more across the board. Too many things are the same color, the [POLICE], [ECRP], and [WEAZEL] tags just to list a few are all the same color. Inconsistency is an issue, but this also isn't great. Players should be able to easily differentiate without having to read and lose focus on what is actually important when interacting with others. It's a little less relevant when you're not really doing anything. Messages like the daily credit rewards or server reminders such as those about /fdo's look like a children's book of drawings. Why are we using four different bright colors for a single message? Honestly, it is baffling that this has been a thing for so long, but the fact that those who play on a 4K monitor have to squint to read or see literally anything, not just chat but the entire HUD and phone, is insane. The server has done so much to accommodate players, but there's been no effort in making the chat, a very vital part of actually playing the game and roleplaying with other players, legible for players on 4K. I'm sure there's even more, but the point is that for something so important, the chat is an all-around mess.

It's even wilder that this isn't a thing yet when you consider it used to be a thing when the phone was entirely text-based and now after several UI overhauls for it, it isn't. It also used to be clearer about when a text message was received. Instead of just showing you a blanket date, it would actually give you relatively accurate times. The phone should have some sort of indicator of notifications, and then some sort of indicator of which conversation in the texts part of the phone has had new responses that haven't been read yet. Right now, it's all a bit of a maze and we've been waiting on this very minor QoL change for years.

The fact that you have to enter an item code to place an order as a general store manager is super counter-intuitive and it's honestly shocking that it's still like that. In dealerships, the oldest business script currently in existence on this server, you can order directly from the window that shows you the stock of your business and the prices. While you can only order one car at a time, the fact that this ancient script is more convenient than a new (relative) management script for general stores is wild to me. Seems long overdue to be able to choose a quantity of an item and be able to order from the stock menu for general stores imo.

When someone in the development or modding team has some time, it'd be cool to reorganize the furniture store into categories that are easier to navigate. I can appreciate the ease of dumping a bunch of new furniture into the miscellaneous category, and it's probably easy to navigate for avid builders who have spent dozens of hours browsing through furniture in the store for their projects, it is an enormous mess for anyone who only builds on a rare occasion. No one should go through hundreds of furniture items to find a specific flag when there could be a flag category with all flag poles and flag objects, or to go through so much different furniture when it could be easily split into categories such as indoors and outdoors decorations. I'm sure there is much more furniture with many more categories that they could be sorted into, and even if some of them may not make much sense compared to others, anything is better than just dumping more and more furniture into the "Misc" category. Considering the general inconvenience of numerous back-and-forth trips, this would make going through hundreds of items a little more bearable.

Repairing a car you have perm keys to thats not yours
Pazz replied to Midorina's topic in Implemented Suggestions
We've been asking for this for years, it's such an inconvenience not being able to repair or have your cars repaired when borrowing. Someone with keys should be able to repair a vehicle at a mechanic shop at the very least. -
I'll be honest, 2020 was an alright time, though even with some negativity here and there, I think that currently, the community's a little more welcoming. Obviously, I can't comment for everyone, but I think that it has evolved to be a little more accepting towards people using text chat too. Hotspots and finding people is a little dynamic and has changed over the years, only because adjustments to the economy were made, eg. fishing making its return resulting in the pier becoming a hotspot with tens of players at peak time, the day of casino release had probably half the server there, with tens of people actually inside at the tables. While perhaps a little more difficult, police and sheriff's stations are active because there are purposes (paying tickets, getting items back, etc.), mechanic shops tend to have people, Weazel News over the years has grown which affected their HQ, city hall has taken on a large role to serve purposes of inquiring with officials and making payments to GOV, resulting in the presence of people there. The community has also begun taking properties and the building thereof more seriously, resulting in the opening of event halls and nightclubs. I think that generally if you look at the map and look at what locations you think might be relevant, you'll find people. Keep an eye out for the in-game announcements by Weazel, they're pretty informative. The #media channel in Discord often posts in-game event posters, you can find people there. Besides that, a relatively "easy" integration into social circles is joining any of the factions, whether that is an illegal group or a legal faction. Quotation marks around easy because it is, of course, entirely dependent on what you want to do on the server, and the requirements/expectations set forth by these groups and factions.

This started happening after the "[MDC] Improved key press responsiveness while the mini MDC is active" change on the 27th of January. It's super inconvenient.
