Remove /b & /ooc

You would still be able to communicate via /pm for OOC means. People don't use /b to have casual OOC chat and if anything, you're playing an RP server, you're on the server to play a character not have a chat that can happen on Discord so I find that argument to be very poor. The main issue with /b is that it has become a common breeding ground for toxicity and people spamming it when something doesn't go their way, trying to pause a scene which only Admins have the authority to do. Of course it would require the staff team to be actively in game to handle /reports, but there's actually no real need to have /b and many servers operate just fine without it. If not fully removing it, as I suggested further up, there could be a cooldown so people focus on the IC interactions, not use the server as an excuse for an OOC group chat or alternative for VRChat.

"common sence amigo !!! XDXD" - yeah, okay..

So then…. Everyone just goes to /PM instead… like that fixed anything.

you suggest to take away an entire social aspect of the server and the only aspect to keep the server healthy and maintain friendships on a deeper level than just the server RP.

Sounds like you need to start making some friends man

It's fine to have an opinion but stooping to insults isn't really necessary. This is an RP server believe it or not, where people interact ICly. If you wish to talk about OOC things then why would you use an IC server as your main means for it? It genuinely doesn't make any sense. You could also remove /pm but I believe in keeping it for the uses of people requesting to save POV or have clarity on a situation that may have just happened. The use of /b being a social aspect isn't a great argument for keeping it, like I said before, it's a huge issue at the moment as people complain as soon as they're caught by PD or shot by another gang "/b HELLO?" etc.

He dont need you to give him advice on friends Ritchie, dude is a fucking youtube sensation.

Anyway, -1.
People misuse /b like they do, because they seem to get away with it. Taking it away would just add to the problems.

-1 for me personally.

I understand the points made but removing /b and /ooc will potentially increase mixing and metagaming as using /pm is firstly (very slightly) more effort and to do it to multiple people is unrealistic. Therefore some players will just use IC comms to talk OOC. (This already happens in private on a very small scale but it will definitely grow with OOC and B removed)

As its also been stated above, there are some good uses of /b and /ooc which I feel are necessary to keep RP as fluid as possible in cases where issues may arise.

@Chazaa I have merged your suggestion onto this thread as it is a duplicate suggestion of this thread

Thank you!

+1 from me, would remove a lot of toxicity. If it's not fully removed then at least adding a cooldown would help out a lot. Keep /pm but /b is not a necessity to the server, just something people have become overly reliant on.

If used correctly, it can help alert other players to things they may not be aware of. But, chat channels should be somewhat more closely moderated.

  • Staff should come down harshly on those individuals who are using /b for negative purposes, potentially with a rule about complaining in /b. There is a distinction between telling someone in /b that there are perhaps mitigiating circumstances as to why RP has gone that way, but if you're trying to complain about outcomes, then you should either make a forum report or sit on that shit.

  • Allow individuals also to be able to toggle their /b, at least for a few minutes, if necessary. Not permenantly, but enough where they dont have to listen to complaining or abuse.
