  1. The way you're looking at the dynamic between prisoner & guard here is way too black and white, where in reality if you look at the bigger picture and the consequences of your actions, it's extremely unrealistic to take a prison guard hostage in most cases. You're not evaluating Risk vs. Reward and the risk here outweighs the reward tenfold. When taking a guard hostage, you're risking your life for seemingly no reason. If you end up making it out of that situation alive, then you would have time added to your sentence that could equal out to realistically being 10+ more years behind bars. That's not to say you will never be able to take a prison guard hostage, but the rule is there to ensure there has been proper escalation for this type of action. 9 times out of 10, a guard just walks into a cell block and is immediately bombarded and fucked with, which isn't realistic to begin with. Your second point here is also based on escalation, as long as the scenario between you and whoever else is involved in this situation escalates properly to the point where you would have this response realistically, you can roleplay it out accordingly. These rules are here to stop people from making prison a complete mess of unrealistic fights and constant emergency situations.
  2. The amount of time and effort you've very visibly put into this suggestion is admirable. Even coming from the LEO side of the server, I can 100% agree that changes need to come to the crim side of the community, and quickly. Thanks for taking the time Bala! +1 for sure

Keep up the active posts, folks! Looking good, I'm happy to see Salvation continuing to move forward.
  8. Homie what are you talking about? I think it goes without saying, but conversations like this are allowed as long as they remain constructive and only use factual information. To me, this is absolutely not what is happening here. I have been to countless situations where people are robbing banks with a "hostage" and everyone just assumes cops are dumb and don't actually do any investigative work while these scenes are going on. With those countless hostage situations, I can count how many times the hostage has been a legitimate hostage on one hand and still have fingers left. People are so quick to hop into /b when cops start to ignore the hostage. It's funny when a "Hostage" is verified to be a specific person, and that person is known to roll with the hostage takers. While I won't say how this happened to protect from metagaming, I will say that a few weeks ago a Bank Robbery was occurring at Chumash Bank with a hostage being held at gunpoint. Negotiations were underway, Officers legitimately brought a vehicle for the hostage takers to get away in, everything was being set up exactly how the hostage takers had requested only for me to find irrefutable evidence that the hostage was indeed not a hostage, and was a member of their crew. Due to this, Officers changed their tactics, stormed the building and arrested everyone - no one was injured and no shots were fired. Of course people immediately started with /b saying LSPD didn't care about the hostage, that we broke the rules, etc. etc. when in reality, they just don't know about the sheer amount of information we have due to our high standards when it comes to incident reports, etc. By the time this situation concluded, the "hostage" spent about 20 minutes in the interrogation room and admitted to his involvement in the crime, that he offered to be the hostage in this situation, and that they were all together. This happens way more than actual hostage situations. Now, if you're unhappy with people's in-character actions, take that frustration and handle it in character - there are processes in place for people to submit inquiries to the LSPD regarding misconduct.
  9. Along with the above, if you get to a point where you are stuck and completely bugged out, feel free to /report to receive additional assistance.
