  1. Welcome to ECRP and good luck with your ambitions of joining the LSPD! @MrSilky and @Bakmeel always love to help you out might you have any questions!
  2. This would be the best option in my opinion. The apparent problem with the current setup is that the 2 days suspension forms a - what looks like - OOC issue with making it disproportional hard for players to move about. Following the general rule of thumb "IC actions should have IC consequences", it would make no sense to simply lower the suspension to twelve or so hours: I'm afraid the general consensus would simply turn out into people logging off, going to sleep and coming back the morning / day after and simply do the same thing over again. Making the license suspension so that it depends on time spent playing after prison rather than simply OOC time does not only have the effect that this issue is solved by just not playing for a small bit, which should never be a solution, but also that actions - and in this case risks taken - will affect your character more thoroughly. For example: Vehicular misdemeanors - 2 hours gametime after prison Vehicular felonies - 6 hours gametime after prison
  3. Welcome, friend! Good to hear you're enjoying it so far!
  4. https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/434/106/ https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/392/1/ Yes. Officers can search people without cause but with reasonable suspicion. Just as in real life. So, in specific details, what do you think should be improved on? I'm curious.
  5. First of all, if you have roleplayed a bank robbery before you will have noticed there is always one individual speaking with the hostage takers: the negotiator. RPly it would make no sense for you to interact with multiple people during that time as the goal of the negotiator is to defuse the situation and try to build a small band of confidence up. As tylxrrr above me said, if you feel your demands weren't met, make that clear. If the police have a trap ready for you that you can't see try to think ahead - how could you prevent this situation next time? In addition to that, how would this be non-RP exactly? As far as you were aware the cops agreed to your demands until you gave up the hostage and fled. To me, all it sounds like you were misinformed in-character. That is actually a very good plan and I commend you guys for this planning and immersion! But for a team with all this planning, you could have definitely prepared for something like the spike strips you went over. Yes, a bank robbery is high risk high reward. Store robberies for example are lower in risk, but also lower in reward. I'll ask you honestly: what did you expect? To commit a bank robbery, take hundreds of thousands worth of dollars and only lose a few thousand if the situation goes south? In that case the whole server would be doing nothing other than bank robberies all day long. The fact that it's high risk high reward is what makes robbing a bank appealing and why you need proper planning to do one. As already mentioned in this topic, it is definitely not impossible to rob a bank. Frankly, more often than not criminals tend to get away with at least a portion of the money. The fact that it is difficult and does not have a lot of room for error - which is simply how it is supposed to be - does not mean it is impossible to do so. Well, you are playing on a quite realistic roleplay server. Granted, it is still a game but a lot of people will definitely try to play it out as realistic as possible. To me personally, it sounds like you are mostly disappointed because you did not see the rest of your plan, such as the pre-planted getaway vehicles, work out for you. This obviously would have created a whole new layer to this situation. But if you are trying to plan for things, why are the police not allowed to one-up your plan with things you, from inside the bank, could not have seen coming? I personally feel there would have been ways to have known about this spike strip in particular and I hope that you arrive to the same conclusion and plan for such occasions as well next time.
  6. Hello and welcome to the ECRP community! Every day server staff processes tens if not hundreds of applications for fellow new players like yourself waiting to join. Usually, they are done between 24 and 48 hours. While you're waiting, I would recommend reading up on the ECRP server rules as well as any other things you would like to do when joining our community. I hope you receive an answer to your application soon and to see you ingame!

    New Vehicles

JB700, so I can finally have a new favourite other than my Stirling GT.
  8. +1 on the smaller firearms without attachments being able to be concealed. If possible, I would like to see a timer per handgun as well as an automatically included /ame. For example, the SNS pistol is a lot smaller and lighter than a Heavy Pistol and should therefore be able to be drawn faster. In addition to that, attachments to a handgun such as a silencer or extended grip would realistically make the pistol too big to hide. I agree with @Beet above me that it would create more immersion in approaching suspects. However, I do not see any gain in creating an additional rule. A rule like this would only lead to more discussions, ruleplay and forum reports.
  9. Date and time (provide timezone): 04/03/2021 12:15 GMT +1 Character name: Roderick_Marchisio Issue/bug you are reporting: MD units on shift will receive notifications about being citated by the speeding camera at the pier when they go above the speed limit. Expected behavior: Not getting these notifications. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Go on MD duty and speed past the pier camera. You will get a message saying you are citated for speeding. However, no charge will appear on record nor will MD units be able to pay them. It is solely the notifications. Vehicle license plate number*: N/A
  10. A few months ago, a huge party was organized in-character by, as far as I know, a group of people from different in-character sides such as @missundastood, @MissDeeds, @Jbacon, @ladypapercrown and probably others I forgot to mention. Speaking from my point of view, a lot of people seemed to have fun mingling with different groups during this party and enjoyed this on an out-of-character level as well. There were great random costumes which multiple people enjoyed, as well as known criminals dressed up as police officers and vice versa. Even though this definitely did not make much sense from an in-character perspective, it definitely did give me something to think about. Recently, as most of us will have noticed, there has been an increased tension between different groups on the server. Whilst I agree with recent staff repercussions, I feel that at the same time this problem could be approached from a different angle as well. My suggestion is to hold more events like this, but make them on an out-of-character level. I think holding events such as the aforementioned is something that helps the community work towards a greater degree of connectedness, which should result in an overall more positive experience.
  11. As an ex-member of high command of three seperate government related factions and having done multiple regular jobs such as fishing, money transport, bus driver and postal courier, I can confirm this. With a "healthy" approach, such as taking a 10-minute break to grab a drink or something, I'd say you're looking at about $6,000 an hour, which is supervisor payment at faction jobs.
  12. As a lot of you will have noticed, after the recent update nametags and ID do not appear anymore unless you're holding L ALT down or the other person is typing. While I definitely like this update in terms of immersion and getting to know people, it has been difficult for myself to distinguish who exactly is talking to me over VOIP especially when in larger groups of people. This small part of the update has been more of a hindrance for myself than a plus point in immersion. I am therefore wondering if there are more people who feel like this and if so, perhaps this may be added to the server in the future. Now: Nametags appear when: 1. You hold down L ALT; 2. The other person is typing. Suggestion: Nametags appear when: 1. You hold down L ALT; 2. The other person is typing; 3. The other person is utilizing VOIP.
  13. Don't fight it Bala, you know deep in your heart this was all you ever wanted and more.
  14. @MrSilky, @Junkfood and I will get started on organizing the bachelor party!
  15. Date and time (provide timezone): 21/12/2020 13:08 UTC Character name: Roderick Marchisio Issue/bug you are reporting: 1. Height ("Z") coorindates of both players and objects are not properly synchronizing, causing both players and objects in other height coordinates on clients other than themselves than they actually are. Expected behavior: 1. The height coorindates should properly synchronize from client to client. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Walk next to somebody that is entering a building with stairs (i.e. the back entrance of Mission Row) and you will see that person with their head through the ceiling for quite a while.
  16. Date and time (provide timezone): 21/12/2020 12:59 UTC Character name: Roderick Marchisio Issue/bug you are reporting: 1. The hook of the mechanic towtruck is not attaching to vehicles. Expected behavior: 1. The towtruck hook should attach to vehicles. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Take a towtruck and go towards a vehicle in the designated area to put the hook on.
  17. Date and time (provide timezone): 21/12/2020 12:51 UTC Character name: Roderick Marchisio Issue/bug you are reporting: 1. Selected LEO outfits do not save. Customizing them is a bit of work every time with adding badges and insignias, adding on to the correct outfit. Expected behavior: 1. The selected LEO outfit selection should save. When going on shift, the previously selected outfit should return. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Go on LEO duty and use the newly implemented /fl. Go off shift, log out and go on duty again - you will be wearing the default clothes.
  18. "Garbage", he says. Looks absolutely great!
  19. Personally I don't think the jail times should change much. It's a game yes, but a roleplaying one. When you commit serious crimes, you should also be willing to accept the time you get put in jail for it. I do however agree on the fact that the activities in the prison are very limited and should have a new look at, in a same way @DrPathetic above me implies. It shouldn't be an AFK-fest, there should still be lots of roleplaying opportunities, albeit limited ones (because hey, you're in a prison!).
  20. Personally I would prefer having random lower- and middle range cars spawn throughout multiple locations in the city. For most people that play on regular graphics the frames drop a lot on places where there are a lot of people/vehicles. Increasing the timer will only increase the problem drastically. Good suggestion!
  21. Saw you guys from the start until the end and happy I did so. Definitely a good run, thanks for the times and experiences together! @Pistol Pete I still expect more of these great stories!
  22. So even in your own opinion you admit the situation was at the very minimum poor roleplay from both sides yet you only hop on to the forums when it's a situation you lose and without any regard to your own very, very poor display of roleplay and immersion. If you honestly feel like there should be any kind of change; it starts with yourself. Pointing fingers while contributing to the very same problem yourself is not going to help anything or anyone - it will only frustrate yourself.
  23. So.. you purposefully drive recklessly into an area with an exorbitant speed without having visual of what you're approaching, crashing into (quite easily) breakable barriers and when colliding with them you do not roleplay any kind of injury from the crash but attempt to run and climb down without any kind of trouble. But PD putting barriers down is "need to win" and "powergaming"? I'm honestly curious as to how you're approaching this from a neutral RP perspective. Speaking from a realistic roleplay perspective: shouldn't you have slowed down if you're not approaching a point of which you do not have visual information as realistically there could have been plenty of other cars there? Shouldn't you have been trying to avoid hitting said barriers? Shouldn't you have visually roleplayed any kind of physical impact from the crash?
  24. +1/-1 Your topic title does not seem to align with your actual post so correct me if I'm wrong with what you mean somewhere. From my point of view, the robbery rule change was something that actually enabled civilian RP. Personally I've been on ECRP as a civilian RPer for over a year and a half and I cannot even begin to count the amount of times I've been robbed or had a gun pulled at me inside Los Santos Customs or when simply refueling my vehicle. Yes, I do realize the criminal side of roleplay in ECRP is under pressure right now. However, civilians fearing for their stuff if they would buy a pair of jeans or when filling their gas tank up, only to have a sports car drive up behind them and hear "hands hands hands": that is not what a roleplay server should be about. Though judging by your topic start it seems you're more focused on robbing another gang member and the ruleplay that comes with it, rather than random civilians. Personally I feel that there should be a lower threshold for groups of people you have already had previous in-character relations with in comparison to someone buying a bottle of water in a store. In my opinion that goes in the line of realism. Tl;dr: don't change the robbery rule back, adjust them to have a lower threshold for groups of people you already have had in-character relations with.
