Let players rob anywhere again. (apart from NCZ's obviously)
Roderick replied to CodyCaddel's topic in Archive
Definitely a big fat no from my side on how you've written this up. Yes, I do realize the criminal side of roleplay in ECRP is under pressure right now. However, if you want to find a way to make the criminal side of roleplay more worthwile, I would suggest finding another way than to rob civilian roleplayers for a radio and a bottle of water. The robbery change was, in my humble opinion, the best rulechange ECRP has ever seen. Civilians fearing for their stuff if they would buy a pair of jeans or when filling their gas tank up, only to have a sports car drive up behind them and hear "hands hands hands": is that what you're really aiming for here? Even after this rulechange I have been robbed a few times (which is quite impressive considering I'm basically always on faction duty in a crowded place), but it worked because the robberies were thought out beforehand. And these robberies still happen - you will just need a bit of planning and some ideas. -
Great topic and indeed, trucking is a very enjoyable job. Hoping that non-player induced trucker jobs will be scripted in soon. I am a big supporter of the truckers myself.

ORGANIZATION FAIR PRICES As every business, AAA Guns and Ballistic Solutions need resupplying as well. With the goals of Marchisio Investments in mind, Roderick made sure the truckers got a fair price of their work. Being a big supporter of the truckers and their association the goal was to provide them with a fair payment, worth their time and enabling them to take care of their families. It was safe to say that the truckers themselves agreed the prices set by Roderick for their work was a proper one and very soon, chaos erupted around one of the stores with so many truckers wanting to complete the orders. On the one hand, Roderick was not happy with the chaos it caused for the traffic. On the other hand, he was glad to see so many truckers valued the prices he set out for completing his orders. And at the end of the day, that is what's most important.

INTRODUCTION On the 8th of October 2020, Roderick Marchisio met up with Government employee Tyrone Cox to finalize the incorporation of Marchisio Investments Ltd. Roderick had been thinking about making his businesses official under a single name before and decided that, with the new change in business registration this would be the perfect time to do so. Marchisio Investments Ltd. was founded with the fixed assets being the shares of AAA Guns and Ballistic Solutions, the two firearm retailers that were owned by Roderick. Being enthousiastic of what the future would hold for him, Roderick went outside City Hall again. GOALS Roderick had one goal in mind with the corporation of Marchisio Investments Ltd: sensible business investments while maintaining fair prices for not only his customers but also the people that were dependant on him. One of these group of people are the truckers, who also need to provide for their families. Apart from that, Roderick wanted to give back to the community as well. He decided to use the profits of his investments for giveaways and the like. DISCLAIMER This thread is entirely OOC. Marchisio Investments Ltd. does not have the prospect of becoming an official faction ever. It's simply roleplay for the fun of it and a bit of sharing what I do with my businesses.

And that's exactly my point. I get that it's a video game and let's face it, all of us are here for one simple thing: fun. But we obviously disagree on a very simple, though fundamental point in discussions like these. I would like to have both sides judged by the same realism standard, whereas you're mostly appealing to only limit your ingame opposition.

The thing is, in a realistically crowded metropolitan city vehicles like that would stand out very much and would not likely be used. Aside from that if you want to go about the realistic route - will you ever see criminals in multimillion dollar vehicles being used for their criminal activities? The obvious answer is no. The same goes for supercars being used by the Police Department. To continue the realism - if a criminal gets caught in real life with possessions worth a lot and they have no way of showing their income the possessions will be taken away apart from being taxed over all their assumed income. I'm fine with your argument that the Police Department using supercars is unrealistic and I even agree. However, it sounds like you're saying it should be considered realistic that criminals would use multimillion dollar vehicles in the exercise of their criminal activities with, realistically, have a big chance of losing them instead of a relatively small impound fee which you know from ECRP. I can't really comprehend how you can think the one is completely unrealistic but the other one is completely fine because, in my opinion, both should be judged by the same standard.

To counter that; criminals in vehicles worth easily over two million dollars for even the pettiest crimes while having their graphics set to the absolut minimum for that extra few km/h btw. And in my opinion that's exactly where the slippery slope starts. Right now most criminals have access to vehicles that can escape regular police cruisers purely based on speed. To counter that phenomenon, PD/SD have been given special vehicles that can keep up with those other vehicles. The only thing this does is a. make the roleplay more unrealistic from both sides b. upping the threshold for any newer player that wants to be into criminal roleplay Personally I wouldn't be against a total vehicle overhaul in order to negate these issues.

Right now a rule, will be scriptly enforced next update AFAIK. On-topic: I feel half half on this. The only thing I would really like is having one, consistent line. So either you're injured and not able to use your radio, panic button, phone whatever or you should be able to use your radio, phones etc. Personally for me it makes no sense that you can't use a radio or even a single button on your radio in case of the PD panic button but calling a number, tell where you are located and what happened is no problem. To add on this subject, in the current system when you're down you're supposed to be actually critically injured not that far removed from death. A minor injury is already scriptly shown by walking and standing differently. I feel the most realistic would be to not use your phone either, aside from not being able to use your radio.

Cool posts, good luck with this guys!

+1, it would open up a load more RP-options for realtors and the likes. Aside from that, it would be realistic to be able to: in real life you often don't give realtors just 1 key but a bunch of them.

Looks very good Paulo! Good luck with the sale!

Random fact of the day: did you know that the Comic Sans font came from an actual comic book?
