It will say you cannot as there is no laptop nearby. Try to purchase a laptop, it will not let you as you are not in a criminal faction. On a side-note, if you are reviewing footage, you can talk to people in the store, even if you are not anywhere near them.

The abuse of game mechanics by turning down settings, kicking tires, etc to take advantage of compressions is depressing and if we cannot conduct ourselves fairly and fall victim to play to win strategies like this, a speed cap is the result. I personally would prefer if PD vehicles were simply more realistic. It seems that someone figured out how to give each faction a differently spec-ed crown victoria, so i would expect that they would be able to do the same with the police T20. and there is no reason why the helicopter would not be able to be boosted to 300 to keep up with all the Rapids, just like the eurocopter does IRL

Add an interaction menu to payphones which allows you to select "Use" or "Call", which then allows you to enter a number, like 911, 1111, or 1234567 in chat This could be helpful if your phone runs out of battery or is stolen. After getting robbed or getting out of jail, you could go to a payphone to call for help It can charge you per second or minute in the same way that taxis charge per kilometer This could reuse the phone UI, enabling it temporarily when your phone is off, or be entirely chat and /ame based

the police supercars are actually slower than the regular cruisers, because they are stock. we've been pushing to change that, so we wouldn't need a speed cap. The helicopter also only goes up to 240 at best. If it went 300 like it does irl, wouldn't be an issue

besides being an ooc discouragement from nonrp driving, it would be extremely harmful and a massive headache if tickets were issued to the registered owner, and someone steals some guys car (who lets say is offline so they dont know their car is stolen), and they drive around not caring about their speed because they know they wont get ticketed, its going to cost thousands of dollars for this player (lets say a new player who has $0). And these tickets will then have to be removed by certain members of the police who have that authority. They will have no evidence that the car was stolen because the player is now offline and no one knows his ID so police can't RP with him. Its just not realistic

Pilots licenses would be cool, and private jets could be a good money drain for the economy

its there to give people an incentive to drive at least a little bit more realistically, since they cant fear for their character's life or others going 230 through a built up area

+1. also the whole bugging out so you have to relog, having to press F2, etc Would be cool if we could use payphones as well, just add an interaction menu that lets you dial a number, but that sounds like a new suggestion

If you know that theres nothing between you to stop a bullet and you hear "show me your hands" i think most people IRL would probably give up If you're in a car for example and youre already moving then IRL your best bet would probably be to duck and gun it I would say that if you can back it up and its sort of in the grey zone, then you likely wont get punished for it, and most people (ideally) wouldn't report you unless it was blatantly unrealistic

@Osvaldon, thanks for the reply what do you mean by the stock variant? when a car is stock, it has 0/2, and you can buy 1/2 turbo to get a performance advantage. It also makes a turbo sound at 1/2

I did /takelicense to see which number was for Weapon, and it said 0-Weapon, but when I did /takelicense 0, the /ame said that I took the person's driver license. ID 266 (Korab_Bagadovic) will need his driver license back, and his weapon license removed

+1 Tattoo artists in the city already seem to have the ability to fully remove tattoos, when you buy a new one (say you have on eon the ankle, and buy a different one on the thigh, the ankle one is perfectly gone) So why not just be able to remove it completely? I get the point about realism that @Azphelle made, but some tattoos are quite small, so I think people should have the option to do it. We make our own RP, so we should trust ourselves to stick to realism Personally I must have accidentally miss-clicked buy instead of preview despite never intending to buy one, and now I'm stuck with it Just add a tattoo to each body part called "Remove" or something that you can buy for $1000, which is either nothing or just an invisible version of a tattoo

+1 With the insane amount of time that some people put into this game, it would be sad to see people have their favourite video game taken away because of a mistake/misunderstanding/misjugdement If someone can manage to keep a 100% clean record over 6/8/12 months of active playtime, they clearly have a dedication to the rules, roleplay, and community, and it would suck if they were banned over something like a misinterpreted rule/rules that are harder to understand because they got punished for something ages ago

When you die and respawn at the hospital you lose your stuff because otherwise there would be no point in killing someone.... but to make it easier on you you get to basically rewind 30 minutes. thats what NLR is. you still die, when you come back, that is the first time your character has ever lived, but he just transfers in and inherits the items and status of someone who died previously.
