Hi guys, I've been away from the server for probably a couple of years at this point but have found myself with more free time so was thinking about coming back. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I was wondering if there have been any major changers or if the server still works the same as it used to, if anyone knows? cheers

As a member of LSC, the issue of having to switch radio frequencies due to robberies is actually getting out of proportion. It's getting to the point where only having to change daily is a good thing. As part of a legal faction, it's especially annoying as we dont really share classified info on our radio, but people who've robbed our mechanics usually just use the frequency to piss people off until we have to switch. PD have a radio frequency that can only be used by members of PD, so I'm not really sure why we (mechanics+cab drivers) can't have the same thing. While im happy for any criticism to be posted below, the 'it's not realistic' argument should be irrelevant since irl a person could easily get into a police officer's radio if they robbed them. Sorry if it's not worded too eloquently but thanks for reading

-1, the current way people CK is really bad and makes no sense to me; people essentially kill off their character but still have all their stuff and usually have all of the convenient connections they had before (seen a few times in LSC so we had to change policies ooc etc). If you want to RP a new character, make a new one. It'd be a lot better for the server if the changes mentioned by Xoza were implemented at some point, but for now I think a name change should act as that; a name change.

To obtain a legal gun license you already do have to apply to the LSPD's F&L division here on the forums, I imagine the new players etc with them buy them from other players.

The "if possible" is the thing, I have really little experience with RAGE and the extensions the server uses in a coding sense, so pretty much every suggestion I make is without knowledge of whether it's possible/realistic in the first place

I know you can't irl, but irl people dont have extremely loud background noises and crackling when they speak since a lot of people on the server dont have the best mics/have very sensitive mics. I'm aware it could be abused which i mentioned, but I'm sure there are things that could be done to prevent it at least to an extent, like having to put a valid reason when lowering someone along with the command. The main concern is radio though; it's a massive ballache because you have like 5 people talking at a time and you might not be able to turn it off for ic reasons

+1 blackjack would be a good shout, wouldn't have to wait for loads of other people to play either if there was an npc dealer.

+1 this was a good system in the samp server I used to play, it wasn't OP but it definitely helped the grind. The bonuses wouldn't/shouldn't be huge as you wouldn't want it paying more than gov. jobs but it should be enough of a boost to work as an incentive to stick to one job

+1 I think there should definitely be a limit for 'legal' scams, like houses, cars etc, maybe like 50-100k, but illegal stuff, like guns or drugs should be every man for themselves

I didn't consider the performance issues that these mods might have for some people so yeah I understand why they aren't in and upon consideration have realised that maybe it's not the best suggestion As for the legal troubles argument though, it's very, very unlikely that a car manufacturer would go after a single server on a mod for a game that pulls in a 250 player average as it just wouldn't be worth the effort and money. I agree that it wouldn't just be able to be brought in by bringing the files in as they are, and eclipse is my first ever RAGE server so idk if it's different (it most likely is), but I've played FiveM servers where the vehicle mods are server-side and it seems to work ok but i'd understand if it's harder to do with RAGE. I know it would take a bit of work I just thought it would be a cool idea

Hi, I recently installed the mods from this post: and i've really been enjoying them, but i think it's a bit weird on an rp server having people see different cars to each other. I think it could be a good idea to make these a part of the server so that everyone sees the same thing and it's a bit more immersive also it makes some of the clapped base game cars actually nice

+1 i personally think that Bayview and LSC should be able to free cars from impound since they have the ability to tow and impound cars

+1 but it would have to be really expensive and there would have to be some sort of training course you take that costs money and can be passed or failed before you can fly

-1 Really couldn't see this going well, i know that in real life people could try to rob cops if they wanted but it would be insanely stupid to do and it very, very rarely happens. People would most likely abuse it to get free guns/equipment too, which would kind of mess up the economy and would ruin the experience for a lot of cops.

increasing pay for everything would most likely just cause inflation like in the real world; everyone has more money to spend and so demand for goods will increase, putting prices up the main thing I think could work would be to slightly increase the pay of starter jobs and give courier, money transport and maybe truckers a GPS fitted to their work vehicle

wtf lmao they have bodycams where i live and it's mostly just people who dont have a loicense for their butter knives

+1, Im not a big fan of the interior my house came with, it would be nice to have the option to clear it and just have an empty room to work with on every house if that's what you want

Basically, I think it would be nice if we could change the volume of the radio, since you might not want it off just in case but it's just too loud ie person with particularly loud mic, lots of people talking. Also, some people have much louder voices than others, so I also think it would be cool if we could turn down or potentially even mute individual players without lowering the volume of everybody. However, I understand that muting could be used by some players to get out of certain RP situations so i'd understand if that was a phat -1

+1 i would like to smoke a durry in game without just using a dodgy animation and invis cig, so a rolling anim and entity for that would be cool
