  1. You best believe I am winning with my Shell V-Power vs your regular unleaded.
  2. How far do your "real world implications" extend. People are shot and die everyday, people are kidnapped, people race on the streets and crash their cars. Should we simply just bubble wrap everyone because of the mere idea someone might get upset by concepts that are, unfortunately, synonymous with real life? No. Of course not. You are playing GTA, you face these topics playing the game as it is. If you are so sensitive, go and play Candy Crush (you know, if you can handle the notion of candy being assorted by colors and then disappearing to earn points.)
  3. As someone in the realm of law enforcement in the UK, I am particularly intrigued on this experience you call upon to bolster your post. Out of interest, can I ask, how long it took you to become a specially authorised instructor/AFO instructor - the standard level of instructor that is required to undertake CED training? Do you have a lengthy career in firearms experience or have a lengthy career in law enforcement? I would presume so due to the competition, expertise and training requirements these roles need. Always nice to reach out and rub shoulders with fellow professionals that are rarely found in these communities. All the best.
  4. I am interested. Can we meet at the Vespucci pier after dark? P.S. Don't bring anyone. -Anonymous user.
  5. I do wonder, perhaps you can provide some insight; do you think this brother saw his ban from the community coming through the walls or not?
  6. I hope you make your IA report within the 7 days of the incident as required! It would be a true shame for such a damning incident to have gone amiss from not following the procedure to ensure incidents can be fairly investigated - which I am sure you are in support of with your lengthy tenure on the server and as a knight for fairness. (Perhaps not bring up the part where you were discharged for deceiving recruitment staff and lying about your admin history...that might not look the best on paper).
  7. IRL pic of me driving my half a million dollar car preparing to evade up a mountain which proves it is realistic for me to drive my half a million dollar car up Chiliad. +1, all for it.
  8. My my, I am sure a HR department or occupational health department would have you in their ranks somewhere. If you think the hours in a real life setting within law enforcement or criminal justice are capped in the real world, you are very much mistaken. I’ll log just the last few weeks of my work life: -W/C 6th March: 82 hours worked -W/C 13th March: 86 hours worked -W/C 20th March: 74 hours worked Should I tell my employer I need to have my pay cut or I should get more time off for my health? Of course not, because in the real world we all work until the job is done. This is a ridiculous suggestion OOC and IC. I suppose retiring my character at age 42 and being unemployed is unrealistic, mind you, that speaks for a wide range of the player base…perhaps you could address this on your next suggestion. I do wonder how we make their years of unemployment and benefit claiming more realistic…
  9. CV so long I am convinced you are a criminal in the Greek job market Good luck boss @Moda_Montasser

  11. @Shining0103Please upvote this to further out lighthouse ERP experiences. Big plus 1 from me.
  12. Question @Shining0103, how are we meant to ERP under trees if they are removed? Can you ask @skeletee as you inquire?

    LOWER THE GANG CAP.

I personally believe a rule of engagement (ROE) rule would work pretty well. Half the problem is people think it is good roleplay to go around steamrolling the map with numbers. A rule of six or eight as a party to instigate an engagement as a cap would be a good idea to prevent people just running around and thinning out rival competition. That being said, seemingly with the decline of numbers, I don't right now see a need for this. This situation is a lose-lose. Yes, there is a problem with the number of criminals and yes it needs solving. If you cap the limit of certain gangs then "friends can't play together" so more people leave and if you keep it the same there will be no action, so people leave. 25 people if we are to cap numbers seems a good, fair number if a cap is to be implemented. For realism purposes that would be good too but, let's face it, no one cares about realism here. At the end of the day, the elephant in the room is there are months of development promises we are all still waiting to see fulfilled, countless times this community is promised updates that have not evolved in any way and a community that thrives on grinding assets rather than roleplaying. My thoughts? Have faction management enforcing roleplay standards SERVER WIDE TO ALL than the lack luster enforcement that is current and let us see these updates come to fruition (I say with baited breath).
  14. Doesn't seem to get through...thought I'd repeat...
  15. How about, I know, a controversial idea, implementing features that actually encourage roleplay. I hate to say it and perhaps this is a little off-topic but writing a few stories on a faction thread is not good roleplay. Features like providing a business location, giving access to tools to build drug labs and things like that would be much more effective means of giving a "tier reward" than silly, unrealistic features. It would be nice to see IFM help setup schemes, supplier status with a realistic stance of supply etc. You could encourage far more economy and social dynamics with plenty of ideas, ones that would certainly boost criminal activity - these now are few and far between. I just hope whatever features you implement or are looking to are simply not boosting "asset grinding" and give people that demonstrate good RP to have a leg up in furthering their development.
  16. Got the new server logo ready if this is implemented.
  17. Let's just wrap the world in bubble wrap and protect people in cotton wool. I have little sympathy for people offended by the one-off "kill yourself" style comment. You are playing an 18+ game, one which the premise rests on a multiplicity of violence and adult themes. Provided the remark was made in the course of roleplay - so be it. If it happens on a repeated, clearly toxic basis; fair enough, file a report. We already have systems to deal with toxicity, there is no need for more censorship. The issue Bala speaks of I believe is mainly caused to the immature, belligerent children who clearly need better parenting and need a belt rather than a ban. I am afraid we live in a society where a backbone and decency is something becoming rarer and rarer. I am not here to babysit and panda to your needs. If my character in the course of roleplay makes remarks, it is done so in that light. Funnily, it is these same people that complain about this issue that cause it: they lack entire character concept and become quasi, childish versions of themselves. My advice? Grow up and stop causing a nuisance to the people that actually want to enjoy themselves.
  18. +1 I personally think that implementing a system where jail time is served whilst the player is offline makes sense in the current state of affairs. Perhaps a system where the jail time goes down 50% faster (per se) if you're logged in than out is a sensible compromise. That way people that are inclined to log in are rewarded for their efforts whilst the people that are already in jail with stuff to do are not penalized more than already.

    Police

I think the issue that underlines your post is the fact that people in the server, whether LEO, civilian or criminal, are often impatient and spontaneous. In regards to an officer demanding your friends to put your hands up, this to me shows clear impatience. With the server revolving around a VOIP system, people's voices can move much faster than that of the actions of their character. This is natural due to the limitation of you controlling a character in a game and not controlling it like you would in real life. The clashing of wanting instantaneous reaction of an order (i.e. "put your hands up") and someone physically responding to that on their end by typing in the command to perform the requested action leads to conflict. People want you to move faster than physically possible and players often start getting frustrated - demanding you move faster or do things quicker. This results in rushed roleplay and/or roleplay that flies in the face of what I am sure most players want: a fun, entertaining and somewhat realistic roleplay interaction. I think this issue is only going to be resolved when players start using common courtesy. That being, giving players enough time to respond to roleplay (without taking the piss of course) and understanding that someone, even if they wanted to, can only type commands and roleplay so fast. I am not saying that there needs to be rule implementation to encourage people to be courteous to each other, but maybe that would be a solution. Turning to spontaneity, I think the majority of the situations are spontaneous, spur of the moment decisions. Whether that be criminals backing up their friends to commit a crime or police responding to an incident, the level of response from parties is very reliant on what is happening on the server in relation to your character in that moment. People often turn up to events they need not necessarily or realistically would turn up to in real life because, lets face it, you want to get involved in some RP. There is little scope as I see for much developed roleplay as the majority of the player base are sadly not interested in developing story lines or situations where their characters are doing things with specific purpose. For the wide part, people are mainly concerned with gaining assets and defending assets. People turn up to things to get involved. If nothing is happening in the server and backup is requested for a traffic stop, you get more units. Likewise, if nothing is happening I am sure criminals turn up to help their friends more readily and in greater number than if there was a lot of situations going on within their relative sphere of interaction. I think if this situation is to change player's mindsets need to change dramatically: something that I sadly do not see happening.
  20. +1 I think the main issue is that criminals have very limited ways to make meaningful resources of income to be able to roleplay. There is very little player to player interactions to be able to make income. I think a large reason for this is the very small number of the community being 'mere' civilians. Most members of the server are either in a government faction or a criminal one. This means that there is very limited scope for criminals to exploit members of the public as they would realistically do in the real world. That being said, I think we have to accept the current state of affairs on this fact and there needs to be some achievable balancing for criminals to make money through one medium or another. Having ATM robberies so widely available, easy to do and frankly from an LEO standpoint unmanageable was and is not the way to do it. I think large scale and chain robberies do nothing to promote roleplay and instead encourage a culture of cops v robbers. Some sort of balance needs to be struck between asset gain and roleplay. The current state of affairs is untenable.
