It's not so much they are shooting you 20 times because they know they can just use /stabilize, but it's the fact they have to shoot you 20 times to keep you from shooting back. The health system is fairly basic. It's hit points, armor, and buffs. When your health reaches zero, it gets temporarily filled in the injured state with a small damage tick. When that reaches zero, you die. Until you are in that injured state, you are just as much a threat to them as someone who is full health. This isn't Tarkov or ACE3. There is no system for abrasions, avulsions, contusion, crushes, cuts, fractures, lacerations, velocity wounds, or punctures. No system for heart rate and blood pressure. No system for blood loss. There is no unconscious state from pain or low heart rate, or low blood pressure. There is no multiple types of bandaging for the different types of wounds, no splints, no tourniquets, no saline, no blood transfusions, no morphine or epinephrine or adenosine injectors to stabilize your patient. It's a game of your health, armor, buffs, and DPS vs their health, armor, buffs, and DPS. First one to zero loses. Neither of you are going to worry about taking a round and bleeding out. Neither of you are going to get shot in the head or neck and that practically be a death sentence. Neither of you are going to flinch from pain and throw off your aim, make you unable to aim accurately, or force you to fumble and drop your weapon entirely. You are going to pump each other full of lead until one of you either runs away or gets injured. /stabilize also isn't instant. It locks you into an animation; one which if a person took to long to get to you, or if someone is a little too zealous with their rounds after you are injured, can take enough of your health you will succumb to the damage. Saw it plenty of times at EMS.

There is actually a depletion system in place. If you use the U menu you get the 'Fishing Zone Info' Where you can see the current fish stock, what fish you can catch, what bonuses you can get, etc. Currently, both the the Del Perro and Paleto Pier don't deplete so I haven't really seen people at others spots. Also haven't investigated enough to see if other spots have different types of fish, I've only ever seen Bass, Salmon, and Tuna. Haven't had the chance to really deep dive this week.

Fishing is here! And for the most part, it's fun. Few things here and there that are a little wonky but I'd say it definitely hits more than it misses. While enjoying the fishing, chatting, and teaching others the Art of the Pisces @kat, @Ms.Somebody , and I had a conversation that I think would be worth suggesting here. Ms.Somebody brought up that when fishing was first hinted at a year ago, there was talks of being allowed to rent larger and larger boats. Kat and I agreed, but scrubbing through the forums and Discord, I can't seem to find that post. Maybe someone else can find it, as my Search-Fu is failing me. The conversation branched, and Kat and I both agreed that while boat renting might have been scrapped. It would be nice to see some ocean fishing spots. Kat pointed out how boats are pretty under-utilized in the city, myself commenting I hadn't taken mine out since the bridge was built to Cayo. So here is my idea, have some Sea Fishing areas. Places where individuals with boats can pull up, drop anchor, and fish until the holds are full and head back to off-load. I think if you were to buff the catch rate a little on the location, along with the usual buffs for group size, time of day, and weather, it would be a good option for those who want to take the time to prepare and pack for a long fishing trip. The sunken sea lab on the west coast springs to mind, as well as any of the ship or aircraft wreckage that dots the coast. Maybe go a step further where the farther the location is from the docks, the better the buffs it has to incentivize those locations.

Best guess, some issue with music rights and EULA on custom servers using GTA 5?

Just tried it upon seeing this. I would say yes and no. Yes I can now downgrade performance parts. No as in it still rings up as 0 when accepting the mods and paying for it, even though in the modification menu it says it should have cost me 1,800.
-
Date and time (provide timezone): 1762385801 Game Edition (Legacy/Enhanced/both): Enhanced Character name: Carter Bulfinch Does this issue appear again after a full game restart?: Yes How many times did this issue appear for you?: Every time it was attempted Issue/bug you are reporting: You cannot downgrade the performance of your vehicle. In this case, I was attempting to raise my vehicle from the maxed suspension settings, as I realized I had lowered it more than my liking. Upon doing so, it said I would be charged zero dollars and the mechanic who wanted to work it said there were no selected mods. When she sat in the vehicle, she could see the mods were selected, along with the $1,800 price tag for the modification. This was also testing on a Paragon S nearby, with trying to remove the turbo. Exact same behavior. Expected behavior: Being able to upgrade or downgrade the performance modifications of vehicles. Evidence (MUST provide either UNEDITED photo or video) , notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Vehicle license plate number*: Buffalo STX: 2XYZ9FVC. Paragon S: MRSBLFNC

I will preface this with a big 'ol 'In my experience' I noticed this a lot on EMS during LEO calls. It seemed primarily, to me, that this is a way to avoid jailtime. They are going to lose everything anyway, at least when they die they don't have to spend three hours in DOC. Hopefully this behavior/attitude is curbed a little with the upcoming DOC update making it a more engaging place to be. It will also require more realistic damage. You need those dozens of round to render someone combat ineffective by injuring them. It's not like a hit to the arm to the arm or hand is going to make you unable to move them or aim a weapon. A shot to the chest isn't going to leave anyone with a sucking chest wound. No single round to the dome is going to have someone be lights out, just due more damage. The reason they were shot 20 times is because they had so many drug buffs and health it required 20 rounds for them to stop shooting back.

+1 Would be if you didn't have to trunk someone every time when you have perfectly good passenger seats. As for MD getting encroached, buff MD. Have it be cheaper if an ambulance takes you or it gives you full health health when you are taken away by the ER docs. Something to make MD the more desirable option.

+1 Just as an idea to add some depth, lower quality fakes have mistakes. Wrong colors, minor misspellings, etc. The higher the quality, the harder it is to spot. Also as some realism and counterplay, IDs are usually numbered. Driver's, Helicopter, etc. Could be numbers and assigned randomly like vehicle vins. If someone takes the time, and has the resources to, look up that number, the jig would be up. Great idea making them inventory objects. Can't wait to get arrested because I forgot my license at home.
-
+1 I am now in the shameful habit of going through the order details to see exactly where I'll be going and where to determine if it's worth it or not, even on the NPC orders. Admittedly, the prices set are usually set to the minimum, and they don't get to decide where the vehicle is imported from. I've picked up a few from the docks, so I know that spawn does exist.

+1 There should be one ready to go if I recall since in base game, you steal one with no guns and no flight. Toreador would be cool too.

Ways to increase player count in ECRP

I think @Jay Plague did a good test of this, advertising a small party. At first it was a come and hang out, in which six people showed up, He suddenly said $100,000 free raffle to those there, like three dozen were suddenly there. He could speak more to it. I think an event like that should be viewed as an exception, not the rule. While that event was Weazel, there was not an insignificant amount of the server's Event Team that are not affiliated with Weazel came out to assist with that, myself included. I'm sure Marco and the Weazel Team put god knows how many man hours into building, planning, marketing, etc. into that event, but something of that scale for other factions is just not possible. Even with the size of Weazel as a faction, other Admins, moderators, and even support were asked to assist. Events are a real fucking bear to plan and execute. Even now, my faction is planning for an event before the end of the year. For starters, we first came up with the rough idea and concept. Then, based upon some faction feedback about wanting to see us out there with other factions more, I reached out to a faction leader who I had known for a long time about partnering with them, giving them a rough idea. Currently, I am no reaching out to a government agency that has juro of the area to utilize the space. After that, I still will need to reach out to my LFM representatives to see about getting some event vehicles spawned, and I still need to put in a build request to have it built. For those counting at home, that is FOUR different groups that I have to communicate with, and if any one of them say 'No', I'm back to square one. It also doesn't help when policies or guidelines change without warning, such as the recent mapping request changes. And this is all for an event that will last two hours, maybe three. It's exhausting. But I like putting on fun events, so I do it, mostly without complaint. Though I’m sure @Ms.Somebody is probably sick of hearing my threatening to start smoking again. Hammer on the head right here. If ECRP wanted, they could completely cut out most civilian factions and be done with it. DCC is gone, add more City Bees. Have the automated mechanic system work with mods and you don't need mechanics any more, especially with the new repair kits. Weazel... might be more difficult. There were ways in the past that people could advertise things but I also feel bringing it back and allowing people to hang their own posters could get very messy very quickly. I think, while a minority, is still a not insignificant portion of the player base. I tried my hand at the Crim life on a few occasions. I found the gameplay loop not to my taste and the attitudes I encountered even worse so ECRP came a nice place for me to meet people and hangout, and for a while that was good. Some people just want to meet and interact with others, write their own stories. I don't think any civilian would say they want to be made the priority, that they need updates beyond anyone else. God knows that DOC is in need of a desperate rework, and has been asking for one for years. Same with Mechanics, and to a lesser extent DCC. But if you look at the past 3 months of updates, you could hardly say that Crims aren't getting love, especially in July with Faction War content, and rebalances to ATM's and Robberies. Though I will say in August there were no updates. I think civ/legal would like a bone thrown to them every once in a while. As for the asset grind, what's the end goal? What good is all that money if all it does is sit in your bank staring at you? I did the grind for a while and now I have everything, so what's the plan? I'll end my rant with how I interact with the server nowadays: I log on. I check my text messages, reply to those that need a reply. I'll browse through my various faction members, see who is online/on duty. If there are people I particularly enjoy the company of, I'll go clock on. If not, I'll peruse the various freqs and make calls if there is any racing going on. If not, I go out and check on and restock my businesses. After that I'll see if there are any events happening at the end if there is still nothing, I'll just log off and go do something else. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does checklist. -

I don't think there needs to be hard limits, but I feel there should be some sort of resource management. It's scalable, but also have appropriate response. If you have a bank robbery with a hostage or an officer down? Maybe a call to pile on. If it's one guy towing an ATM, maybe doesn't need 8 Units + Air-1 following. Also will help calls from being missed or dropped. I know at EMS Supervisors will assign units calls and make sure we are covering if things get hectic. -

I'd also add these conversations are also one sided, usually focusing on retaining players rather than attracting new ones. It's focusing on half of the equation. It's odd, during my play sessions it's not like there is an insignificant amount of New Player's joining the server. More than enough where if every one of them stuck around, it would result in plenty of replacement, in terms of numbers, for player attrition. So I'd be curious on those stats. How many of these new players log in once and never again? How many are still logging in after week? A month? 3 months? 6 months? How many make it to their one year anniversary? Might be interesting to see why they left. Is it because the amount of new things being thrown at them are overwhelming? It is because they are bored? Is it because people avoid interacting with them because of the New Player tag? (We all have our horror stories, even I tend to pucker up when that New Player in a White warrener rolls up.) Might be worth some focus on helping these players better get started on the server to have them stick around. -
I have, I put in an IC IA report against two Deputies who ran a stop sign merging onto the freeway causing significant damage to my personal vehicle. When confronted about the lack of situational awareness when driving, that being the legal road marking and also the oncoming car, they immediately counter acted by both of them threatening myself and my IC Wife. Before badge numbers could be gotten, they just drove off. Now, we had an IC Body Camera rolling, as well as the footage could have been used OOC for the Body Cameras/Dash Camera of the Deputies. I was told, OOCLY that "The deputy in question was responding to a call at this time, and the call has been voided by an admin since. Therefor, no action will be taken." This, at the time and still does, confuse the hell out of me. The Deputies at the time of the accident were not Code 2 or Code 3. Responding to a call could excuse the accident, sure, but it doesn't excuse them threatening us afterwards. I could accept responding to the call as driving away suddenly as being voided, but what about the IC actions of them that proceeded it. In hindsight, I wish I wasn't so new to the server and the systems in place when I made this report because I could have pressed further, especially now knowing LSEMS's policies regarding MVA's while On-Duty. While I'm sure it is not 1:1 with SD's policy, it's given me a base on how it could go. I wish I appealed it at the time, but I think is an example of what people deal with when they try to engage with the feedback system; a response that leaves more questions than answers. While I'm sure not every experience is like that, I'm sure there is more who have had a similar like this. Balance is what any system should strive for, though that doesn't mean it has to be symmetrical. Each side can have their advantages and weaknesses, and both of those don't have to stay static. Of course, both sides probably want to come out on top in a situation. Crims want to get away with their ill-gotten gains, LEO wants to restore order. However, it can be perceived as playing to win by the attitudes each side approaches any situation with. A 'GG' from an opposing player in CS2 is going to feel a lot different if the score was 13-2 as opposed to 13-11. 1.) Should probably see who you are talking to before replying to them in an appeal to reason. 2.) I would argue Off Grid, tried, in good faith for the longest time, to contribute to the community. They hosted events, they RP'd with other groups and factions including my own, and always tried to make the best out of a bad situation. For my faction specifically, it is a huge loss for us on the server because of the RP Ops and events they provided. They reached out to FM, they reached out to LFM. They had an organized sit down between FM, LFM, PD, SD and themselves. How is that not trying to act in good faith? While they might have been a new gang, a lot of their members were not novices in this community. What makes you the Grand Poobah of what is and isn't a positive contribution? Isn't that the whole point of the communities and discussions? For people to talk and discuss about the things they like and enjoy about the server? Things they wish were different, things they wish were better? Lord knows I talk to my faction reps and other faction leaders all the time about our wish lists for ECRP. Sometimes we find common ground, other times we find where we oppose and it leads to interesting talks as each shares their point of view and the conversation alters opinions of others. While some people do have some hot takes that I don't personally agree with, they have a right to voice their opinion in a civil manner, just as you do. I agree with this, though I would be more curious in peeling back some more layers as to why certain people feel this way and others do not. If what you said is true in other places in the forums/discord, that criminal faction leaders and their organizations as a whole do not have issues with PD as it currently stands, then that probably means that the individuals who voice displeasure at it may be unaffiliated or in smaller organizations not recognized yet. There is well over double that of active/unarchived illegal factions in the thread without Faction Status. Those that have to compete with the big boys. There are 16 Criminal Factions in the F4 (Not counting The Cartel and Off-Grid). Out of those, none of them are top tier at Tier Nine, but 9 of them are Tier 5+. Do the big dogs of The Lost MC, The Rooks, OTF affect how LEO responds to all situations, as they could turn violent at the drop of a hat? That because they have to tailor response to the worst possible case, that there is less discretion exercised when it comes to small fries? Despite my legal relatively clean record and I try to maintain good relation with PD for my faction, I could say I've definitely had the 'Do we really need this many cars for me going 100 in an 80' moment? I've definitely had infamous officers in the community pull an illegal u-turn and follow me for blocks for what I can assume is solely my choice in vehicle. A lot of people read your Criminal Revival thread, as well as plenty of your other related threads and comments. You are a long standing community member, who has contributed a lot to ECRP. A lot of those ideas and suggestions were great, and were well received. But you yourself threw in the towel on your own thread because people started to get nitpicky and while annoying sure, is no reason to can the whole thread just because some people have different ideas than you. I think some of these ideas and topics deserve a deeper dive in why people feel this way and what we could do to change them. I know I am someone who will read something and go "Ooo I don't like that." But struggle to articulate why until sometime after. I think sometimes, just taking a step back and asking 'Why?' and looking at the trail of decisions that led to where we are now would be helpful in this discussion going forward. Going back to the original post, I think @Requiem's original reply on the 16th covers all the points very well. To add, I think adding scripted LEO Logistics could be an interesting avenue. @Demonmit1 covered it on the 16th as well. I think if it was more in-game, more tangible assets tracked rather than moving to Gov Site paperwork would help with the administrative burnout. Have assets (Vehicles, Weapons, Ammunition, etc.) Be tracked. Have a budget that comes from SASG to the various Government departments assigned and have to be used in accordance. If a cruiser gets damaged in a pursuit, time and money will have to be spent on parts and labor. If ammunition is fired, it'll have to be replaced and the weapons maintained. From there, some interesting intradepartmental RP could happen when the budget meeting comes up. Everyone is at a table with Gov ready to slice up the pie for this quarters budget. Gov says they'll pay to requisition to have two new highspeed units, so one each. SD counters that their High Speed Units have a 33% higher success rate. PD counters that SD spends twice as much repairing their fleet of vehicles due to officer carelessness. EMS wants a new medevac chopper as well, so where does that fit in the budget? Of course, this would require a somewhat grounded economy and gov not to print money just to cover expenses. A change like that might effect their business reimbursement program that LFM has or BPB does.

Ways to increase player count in ECRP
NinerTwoGolf replied to XxTheIrishGuyxX's topic in Discussions
I'm with Jay, for a few reasons. There needs to be more things to do besides just work and crime. Just as a 'Holy Wall of Text Batman!' Post covering a few issues a things I've noticed since starting and looking back at old dev logs/threads. Just skip to the TL;DR if you want. I feel the Crim vs Leo is just a long running Arms Race that is now on the precipice of going 'Nuclear' because neither side wants to take their finger off the button. Crim's got easier access to guns, LEO had to increase tactical response. Crim's started using more high performance cars (that should be more rare but aren't) and Police had to up their fleet in order to keep up. But now that genie can't be put back in the bottle, neither side wants to agree to a disarmament and be the first one to blink. No one wants to be the first to give up an advantage with only the promise the other guys will follow suite. (EDIT: Rereading this, I want to make it clear I do not blame criminals for this. I meant this to more read that as development allowed criminals to gain access to these things, and thus take advantage of them, Police had to up their response to counter and maintain order on the server.) I feel big updates are too few and far in between. I remember when the clothing update came one of my faction leaders (who had been there for almost 2 years at that time) mentioned that the clothing the faction would be getting he had no input on, and was designed and decided far before he was in charge and with zero in put from him. At time of writing this post, the 'upcoming vehicle update' was revealed almost a year ago. We've recently been told 'Soon' but no firm release date means I'm not holding my breath. I feel while the freelance updates to Trucking and Busing are great, they were the odd choice. Jobs that encourage people to interact, like Road Workers or Garbage would have been the better choice. Hell, some of the connections I made working Road Workers when I first joined ECRP I still have, and do come in handy occasionally. The archeology 'hobby' was cool at first, a fun interactive distraction and a way to make money. Even I had a nice little side hustle going selling Metal Detectors to people who didn't want to wait to charge their batteries or didn't know they could. But as people trickled out, more ne'er-do-wells came in since there was less resistance and started robbing people over and over. Now it's not worth it to put in the time and effort just to get robbed, so I rarely see people still doing it, if ever. It would be nice to see more hobbies that once again encourage people to gather in areas and hang out. Fishing would be awesome and might help revitalize the pier, since Gov has put a lot of time and effort opening public stores at the pier. Would be fun to be able to play Tennis, or Golf, or Darts like base GTA. Chess would be fun, as my partner and I love playing chess. If Halo: Reach can do it, so can we! Scuba Diving and Base jumping for the thrill seekers. It's sad to be what use to be fun hangout areas, such as The Cove and the Cayo Manor, get turned into drug labs or just arbitrarily gated off. I also feel factions are getting less and less rewards, a big one use to be clothing. When I started my faction that was still an award for a certain tier, but changed after our first promotion. It was a bit disheartening at the time, even more so now that our Faction has been around longer than others who came before us with clothing. I feel other parts of the server's population is neglected when it comes to updates. The Mechanic's and DCC faction have been asking for years for improvements to their RP experience with nothing in the public pipeline. I get they are only a portion of the community, but throwing them a bone once in a while (besides just giving them a new faction vehicle or two when appropriate) would go along way. The economy doesn't support businesses as well. It takes a million dollars to to buy a property, tens of thousands to advertise, and depending on the business, tens of thousands to stock it, for what is something like a $500 profit margin on any items if you want people to actually buy them. It's why raffle tickets became the thing everyone does because in the early days you could make a million dollar profit on an Elegy Retro Custom. Now a days, everyone does it and everyone is equally burnt out on it. That's why you see people open a business once or twice, realize how much of a money sink it actually is, and then never open again. The Gov reimbursements help a ton, but that's more treating the symptoms rather than fixing the issue. I think there has just been a general turn of overall poor attitudes in the community that have been allowed to perpetuate and grow, in all organizations and levels. Whether IA Reports against PD, OOC reports against faction members, or forum reports about rule breaks; there is a lack of, or perceived lack of anything changing. Whether it was genuine no wrong doing, or perhaps protection for leadership due to ranking or status in the organization/community, a lack of change or progress in these areas are across all communities. Lastly, I've known an increase uptick in (In-Character) high ranking officials actively shit talking groups they represent and trying to stir the pot in situations, then Pikachu face when those factions become disgruntled or when people decide to DM one another over the pettiness of reasons. TL;DR: Arms race of PD vs Crim reaching the inevitable breaking point with neither side willing or able to back down. Development of new things is super slow, which is only exacerbated when they updates are previewed way too early. Updates for freelance/hobbies should be done to jobs that encourage interaction and RP. Give some love to legal jobs. Give some fun activities to everyone. Economy doesn't support natural business. Poor attitudes prevail in all sides of the community and are allowed to continue. High ranking characters/high ranking server members need to remember that their words do indeed carry weight, ICly and OOCly. People leave all the time for their own reasons. Some leave in groups over internal or even external factors. These are just a few things I have noticed that have soured my personal experience on the server that has gotten me, to varies degrees, thinking about spending my time elsewhere. Maybe others feel the same, maybe others can call me a crack pot. It's what a discussion is for anyway. -
+1 This could also apply to the Cove to. Areas that previously were great for people to hang out, build stories, make memories that have now been gated off or otherwise made inaccessible/hostile. The cove and the mansion marks some of the earliest dates with my now IC Wife, where I was somewhat bored with the server and she came along and showed me all the fun activities and hang outs to do. It's sad we now can't revisit those spots and reminisce.

An idea that’s been bouncing around in my head is away to describe character appearances that aren’t supported by script or items in the server. This is to allow more natural description of characters in conversation. A few examples that I’ve seen recently that got me rethinking the idea: Lester Conway losing his eye and now wearing an eyepatch. Solomon Cobb missing his leg. Celeste Bulfinch with her pregnancy and now routinely bringing her daughter to places. Unless you interact with these people regularly, they remember to casually (and sometimes awkwardly) insert it into the conversation or they remember to throw out the /do every time someone new walks up. There would be various commands and systems that would work together to make it happen while providing some QoL things to keep it from getting annoying. I will say some things here where that make you go, “Niner, what the hell are you smoking,” but when you hit one of those parts I please ask you read the commands and how it would work as I will go into more detail about more nuanced parts of the system. The text for appearance should be colored, either the same as /me and /do to fit with the RP enhancement, or maybe it’s own thing not to get lost. There are good arguments for both sides. When you log in, the server should tell you what your current appearance is saved as to remind you, in case it is no longer relevant. Appearance should automatically appear when you get close to another player, say 5 meters. (There is a command that will override this so before you recoil in horror at what events’ chats would look like, let me finish. The commands and how they’d work. /appearance [message]: this would be worded similar to a /do but be worded like a /me, so “would have a scar on his left cheek” becomes “Player 58 would have a scar on his left cheek or “Nathan Zachary has a scar on his left cheek.” /toggleappearance: Sets whether you want your appearance message to be visible or not. An example if Nathan from the previous example is wearing a mask or if Cobb is wearing pants where you couldn’t tell his leg was fake. /disableappearance: Blanket command to disable seeing appearances. This would be helpful for events and parties where there is large number of people, want to play someone who is just a little clueless, or just don’t want to engage with the system. /appearance [id]: This would be if you disabled it for an event but found yourself talking to someone and wanted to read them a bit more. If they had no description, would just have a little “You’d see nothing notable about Player (32).” or similar as feedback. /disableappearance [id]: This would disable the automatic message from chat for individuals. For example, if you work in SASG you’d probably get pretty tired of being constantly reminded that “Lester God Bless Conway (43) would be missing his left eye.” With that command, you would disable the automatic message from appearing when close, as you’d be well aware at that point and didn’t need the refresher. However, if someone changed their appearance, this would automatically disable as you’d have notice something new about them. As stated this is meant to just add a somewhat more natural way of character RP without having to spam a /me or /do every someone walks up. Perhaps you want to show your character has been through the wringer a few times as part of their story. Perhaps you got jumped and you want people to naturally react and ask about a black eye. Love to hear thought, comments, criticism, and menu recommendations.
