+1 This could also apply to the Cove to. Areas that previously were great for people to hang out, build stories, make memories that have now been gated off or otherwise made inaccessible/hostile. The cove and the mansion marks some of the earliest dates with my now IC Wife, where I was somewhat bored with the server and she came along and showed me all the fun activities and hang outs to do. It's sad we now can't revisit those spots and reminisce.

An idea that’s been bouncing around in my head is away to describe character appearances that aren’t supported by script or items in the server. This is to allow more natural description of characters in conversation. A few examples that I’ve seen recently that got me rethinking the idea: Lester Conway losing his eye and now wearing an eyepatch. Solomon Cobb missing his leg. Celeste Bulfinch with her pregnancy and now routinely bringing her daughter to places. Unless you interact with these people regularly, they remember to casually (and sometimes awkwardly) insert it into the conversation or they remember to throw out the /do every time someone new walks up. There would be various commands and systems that would work together to make it happen while providing some QoL things to keep it from getting annoying. I will say some things here where that make you go, “Niner, what the hell are you smoking,” but when you hit one of those parts I please ask you read the commands and how it would work as I will go into more detail about more nuanced parts of the system. The text for appearance should be colored, either the same as /me and /do to fit with the RP enhancement, or maybe it’s own thing not to get lost. There are good arguments for both sides. When you log in, the server should tell you what your current appearance is saved as to remind you, in case it is no longer relevant. Appearance should automatically appear when you get close to another player, say 5 meters. (There is a command that will override this so before you recoil in horror at what events’ chats would look like, let me finish. The commands and how they’d work. /appearance [message]: this would be worded similar to a /do but be worded like a /me, so “would have a scar on his left cheek” becomes “Player 58 would have a scar on his left cheek or “Nathan Zachary has a scar on his left cheek.” /toggleappearance: Sets whether you want your appearance message to be visible or not. An example if Nathan from the previous example is wearing a mask or if Cobb is wearing pants where you couldn’t tell his leg was fake. /disableappearance: Blanket command to disable seeing appearances. This would be helpful for events and parties where there is large number of people, want to play someone who is just a little clueless, or just don’t want to engage with the system. /appearance [id]: This would be if you disabled it for an event but found yourself talking to someone and wanted to read them a bit more. If they had no description, would just have a little “You’d see nothing notable about Player (32).” or similar as feedback. /disableappearance [id]: This would disable the automatic message from chat for individuals. For example, if you work in SASG you’d probably get pretty tired of being constantly reminded that “Lester God Bless Conway (43) would be missing his left eye.” With that command, you would disable the automatic message from appearing when close, as you’d be well aware at that point and didn’t need the refresher. However, if someone changed their appearance, this would automatically disable as you’d have notice something new about them. As stated this is meant to just add a somewhat more natural way of character RP without having to spam a /me or /do every someone walks up. Perhaps you want to show your character has been through the wringer a few times as part of their story. Perhaps you got jumped and you want people to naturally react and ask about a black eye. Love to hear thought, comments, criticism, and menu recommendations.

+1 Giving me some GTA: San Andreas vibes with this one! Some ideas for the exercise to expand upon it: Have a fatigue stat that when exhausted you can’t exercise until it at least partially recovers (Say 25%) Have this Fatigue stat tick down slower the better your cardio and strength stat is for their respective activities. Have your food and water stat tick down faster when exercising. Have different levels of gym equipment I.E. Low Level (Exercise Bike/Free weights), Mid Level (Treadmill/BenchPress), and High Level (Stair Climber/Squat Rack). The low levels are low gain, but low fatigue loss while the high equipment high gain but high fatigue. This is where the system comes together: Have an exponential gain/loss system; where as your stats go up for Cardio/Strength, you are incentivized to go to higher equipment just as it will incentivize you to start on low equipment if you aren’t in shape. Where being low-stats and going to high drains your fatigue so quickly that you really don’t have returns for the stats you would gain. On the flip side, if you are high stated, you’ll want to go to the higher level equipment, as you’ll have to spend hours on low level equipment to see any meaningful progress, despite the slow drain off your stamina. Would need a creative formula for this one. Lastly, populate DOC/a public gym with low level equipment to improve the DOC RP by giving something else to do, and civs who aren’t locked up. Have it where people can open up a gym and buy the equipment as part of a gym membership business, or have it where people can buy the equipment at home to exercise (I’m not sure the server economy is in a place where a gym could thrive like that but it is wishful thinking.)

Came for me putting in a report to get rid of a body on EMS duty, stayed for this little bit right here. Plenty of the incidents have bodies that are spawned and are cleaned up by the Road Workers. It has created some awkward moments where I will show up to put out fires, and as I'm packing up to leave they'll ask about a body or two and I'll say while I can do the RP, they are the ones picking it up. Implementing a system exactly like the fire one for incidents would be perfect, where a Coroner could be automatically alerted to bodies on scene and go pick them up and make some cash that way between play body calls. Those bodies are on a 5 minute timer, just like the fire script, so that if no coroner gets to them, the Road Workers will be able to pick them up.

Change Polling to allow long standing players to vote
NinerTwoGolf replied to Coolxghf's topic in Game Suggestions
+1 I know in original Dev Announcement it did specifically say 'current requirements' and this seems to be a test for the polling system going forward. I think members with years worth of XP would have valuable insight to these polls, VIP or not. -
Just my two and a half cents, I think the use of super cars or meta cars could be curbed slightly by one realistic changes to Police MDC: Have it where you can search for a Model of Vehicle where it will pull up all the registered owners. I think with this it would give an edge back to LEO in pursuits that are losing but in the case of the investigative side of things. Have them use those brain wrinkles of theirs. Example: @Tommy Makinen has his beautiful X80 Prototype. Haven’t had the chance to drive it myself but he says he loves it. Tommy evades in that vehicle. He had no plates and a mask so that’s the end of that. Deploy the search pattern and pray you find something. With this, if an officer identified the vehicle as the X80 Prototype you could conduct a search of the MDC and see who is a registered owner of that vehicle. Now you can use those brain wrinkles. “Hey Tommy is in here as an owner of an X80, the one we just lost kinda looked like his due to it being in gang colors.” Now this isn’t smoking gun. You can’t prove he was driving it, can’t prove it wasn’t stolen and he just a wasn’t aware. but it might give you an idea of where to look, what rocks to turn over. While not nerfing performance, it makes the actual weakness of the vehicles, their rarity, something that has to be factored in.

+1 As someone who sits at Benefactor after buying a couple months of VIP, the Casino Penthouse with garage upgrades, as well as a Banshee GTS when it came to the credit store last years, it's a little disheartening to not get some sort of bonus for that. I get Legends, are well, Legends. They are the top 50 Spenders, and get rewarded as such, but would be nice for the slightly smaller fish to get a little something something. Just would be nice if each tier got little more benefits, little more access to cars, maybe even a discount in the credits store on items? Nothing crazy, but enough where it feels like your donations to the server have some reward. It would be a nice bonus for those who have been around a while and dropped money here and there for VIP, a car or two, maybe a nice apartment. I think one time only should be changed to the wording 'purchase for a limited time.' I think the One Time Only works if we get consistent cars in terms of desirability every year. For example there is nothing that leaps out to me as on par with the Banshee GTS and GTO in the Money Fronts update.

I have no idea which of our management team would say that, and the context or situation something like that could be said. If you are being actively told to salary farm by management member, report that to command or LFM.

Hey so gonna give a little peak under the hood for DCC cause I see a lot of.. well misinformation. To start broadly, the taxi app lies to you all. It lies to you in a big way. I go into more detail in the thread talking about it here: But TL,DR: The app will only take a driver off the 'Free Drivers' list in between the time they accept a request, and when the arrive on location to the request. It then marks them as a free driver, despite the fact you will obviously have a customer now and are clearly not free. This is especially bad when you have customers going to or from Paleto cause that is a multi minute journey. This is automated, we have zero control over this as a driver. It also gets confusing when we do our buddy up days and the system will count one cab as two drivers in the system. As for salary farming, we crack down that on all the time. No one in the management team likes one person sandbagging while everyone else pulls their weight. As management, I've told people to get off their ass and take a call multiple times. We do have a strict system that allows drivers to take a small break without clocking off. This is hard capped at 5 minutes and because of how we do it, it can be seen by on and off duty personnel. This is strictly enforced by management and LFM. This is in place so that we don't have to drive all the way to DCC, do our RP to clock off, actually clock off, for something as simple as use the bathroom or get a drink. Abusing of this has led to members being removed from the faction. It's something we religiously enforce because it is privilege that was provided to use by the server staff, not a right. At the end of day, if you notice drivers that are actively AFK, Salary Farming, not doing their jobs, put in a report. We had a member receive a warning because someone put in a report and an admin caught them. Get their plate and a time stamp and put in a formal complaint on the biz site. With those we can check logs with LFM and figure out who exactly it was. As for some specific quotes: Actions, meet consequences. This is categorically false. Management hands out warning all the time due to lack of RP. We also crack down when we catch people who haven't taken a call in a while and we do not 'actively encourage' AFKing because LFM would put our nuts in a vice for violating server rules. Not true. We are told the exact opposite to do that. Management will have entire meetings with no one on duty if there are no drivers or a low number of drivers available. I've had to turn away interviewees unfortunately because we just didn't have the coverage for me to conduct an interview. This, this, this. It happens all the time. If you aren't on the black list we will get to you, it might just take some time depending on the requests. Moving around and spamming the request is only going to end up putting you higher on the wait list.

-1 It kills me a little inside when it starts to rain for 5 seconds then stops. Not sure what the beef with rain is. All it has done is add to the RP for me. People will seek shelter from it, or RP getting umbrellas out from cars. For racing it is always fun when it starts raining and seeing suddenly who backs down because they're afraid to get wet.
