Ms.Somebody started following The Forgotten

Controversial -1 I had mine and @NinerTwoGolf’s jewelry items made as personal gifts of significant IC importance to both of them, they are engraved with their literal children’s initials, to have them drop on death and then disappear completely in the pawn shop script or just despawning entirely would gut punch me.

📱 MEGA PHONE UPDATE – A Long Overdue Overhaul for Eclipse RP
Ms.Somebody replied to Juicay's topic in Implemented Suggestions
+1 I actually really do like a lot of these suggestions, one thing I’m not a fan of is the idea of the phone degrading, I feel if the phone degrades you should be able to buy ‘phone kits’ to refurbish or repair your phone, we all remember the weapon degradation fiasco. -
+1 To all of this, especially storing crates via store rather than having to empty my entire inventory to pick it up. I have clothes I want to wear, but I just go buy new ones and sell them as needed because it’s such a hassle to go grab the crate, look through it, drop EVERYTHING, and then pick up the crate. Being able to store it would cut so much bs.

As someone who did a lot of fishing 4 years ago when I first began playing on ECRP, it was not 100-150 people fishing on the pier. It was closer to the number of people we have now in paleto fishing at that pier alone, if not 1-2% higher. People concentrated on the pier because it was really the only place people could go and not have to worry about being NRP robbed back then. We have way more people fishing now than we did back then, but they are spread out and going to different places to find different and more valuable fish. Adding fishing spots in the ocean won’t change anything except people buying boats, and going out to fish either alone, with their friends or just to see who is out there. Putting fishing spots in the ocean would also benefit criminals and promote roleplay, as out in the ocean, if you’re all alone there is a chance you could get boarded by someone else and be robbed out there due to the recent change in the rules, it is a great boon to the criminal side of the server as much as it would be to the civ side.

I think you’re overthinking this Bala, we’re not asking for the ability to fish all over the ocean, we’re asking for the fishing spots like we have now on the GPS to be added to a few ocean areas, 2-3 would be the ideal number. There is nothing stopping individual people all from converging on an area in their own boats and fishing off of those and conversing within the area with each other their boats dotted all over the ocean, or going on a friends marquis and fishing off of that. We may as well get rid of boats entirely since there is nothing we can do with them that is unique to them anymore if that is your opinion.

I will have to agree with Requiem, in EMS the loadout is super long, and full of uniforms that unless you’re part of the division for, you cannot use. Being able to set what clothing items ranks can access and allowing the players themselves to curate their own uniform/fl list to their own specificity within their faction guidelines to prevent NRP and failrp would be very beneficial. It would cut down on the long list you need to scroll through, and save time outside of the initial creation of your uniform. As a workaround for whenever you have a new hire, or someone reinstating there could always be a ‘default’ uniform available for them that they automatically change into upon clocking in that they can later adjust to their own specifications to save on time when trying to get trainees or reinstatements trained rather than having to wait 30-1 hour for them to cobble together a valid uniform.

+1 To this, it’s a fantastic idea. What they did with fishing was great already, but it can always be even better. Boats are under utilized on the server already, and with the bridge to Cayo update, they’re practically useless. Putting boosted fishing spots (either shorter time between catches, boosted values, or both) out in the ocean would get people to use them again, and keep the boat dealers and boat gas stations alive. Maybe even introduce fish that can only be caught in those sea areas to incentivize players to invest in boats to go out into the ocean to try and catch those fish.

As someone who is by and largely a civ role player, I have to agree with Jay. I’ve mentioned it before and will mention it again, I am of the opinion Civ roleplay is being starved, and it is having a negative effect on both Leo and crim roleplay if we want to be absolutely honest. Civ roleplay is a fundamental basis of crim and Leo roleplay, what are Leo’s and crims going to do when they aren’t committing crime all the time? They’re going to be building their connections, their reputations, they’re going to be going around to different areas of the city they enjoy to unwind and relax after whatever operation or mission they have undergone, no one wants to be a cop or crim 24/7. But if cops and crims have nothing to do outside of the cop and crim life, then they’re just going to go home, and log off of the server and spend the better amount of their time doing something else, leaving a very obvious gap, eventually they’re going to get burnt out and sick of doing the same thing over and over again without any variety until eventually they say “I’ll just stay off the server today” that day turns into two, which turns into five until eventually you just… Don’t log on ever again, because what else do you want to do? Play on a server that doesn’t promote character growth, developing your characters stories be it their group, the people they know, the city they love? If they stuck around doing something else, they could so easily be drawn back into doing the Leo and crim roleplay if their friends or faction needed them, it’s simple logic, provide a need, and they’ll be there when you need them. The way you retain players is giving them more to do on those characters when they don’t want to be a crim or be an Leo, you give them the ability to go to an arcade and play some randomly generated minigame for the ability to win a small amount of money, to go golfing with their friends to see who can get the best score and rib on each other. Give them the ability to fish, or hunt with other people with better pay outs or skills. We’ve been promised a fishing skill for almost over a year at this point, and instead we’ve gotten two freelance solo jobs and criminal skills before any civilian skills were worked on. We’ve received an entirely new hobby before cooking has gotten the refinement we desperately need and deserve. People want engagement, they want something they can do while waiting around for their friend, their group or to get back on shift, giving them more things to do, legally is a good way to do it. The server by and largely has and always will be focused on roleplay, EC*RP*, it’s in the name after all. To say that the only focus should be on cops and crims is wrong. No aspect of roleplay should be ignored regardless of personal opinion and feelings towards that roleplay.

Bala, I don’t know how to tell you this, but Kari and I are two different people. Irrelevance to them being good friends of mine or not, I would still like to ask you to have some respect for the players behind the characters and not dismiss their efforts on the server. It would be tantamount to someone saying that several longstanding leo members who have since left the server over disputes made no difference and there is no loss there if they left, imagine how you would feel if someone said this about someone you had known personally. All I am asking for is respect towards these former players and factions, that is all. You may not have engaged with them personally in ways that you felt positively impacted or benefited the server, but I guarantee you that there are a lot more players who would disagree with that stance you are taking, broader impacts than you are aware of outside of your personal experiences with those characters and those factions. Every faction has an impact on the server, and blindly stating that it’s “no loss” if they disbanded or have left can be interpreted as very discouraging attitude and behavior to anyone else interested in starting up an illegal faction from what could be seen as a long standing and respected member of the community. It stifles roleplay, creativity and community, as well as perpetuates and encourages a toxic crim v leo mindset that I think everyone on the server can agree no one benefits from.

I knew some of the people in Off Grid, they were good friends of mine in and out of the server, it would be nice to have some respect for the players behind the characters Bala, least it be forgotten that these are characters that real human beings have put real effort and real time into growing and making them what they were. Their leaving of the server has had an impact maybe not server wide, but definitely has been felt among me and the others who could call them our friends. I personally am not someone part of the crim v Leo part of the server, tried the crim side, didn’t like it much, and have no personal interest in the Leo side, my main interest and focus has and likely always will lay in the civ side of the server, which by and far to me has always felt like it has been underserved and under recognized, but this is not the thread for that. That being said, I have had a few run ins with crims and leo’s on my main, some good, and some bad. Fortunately the good outweighs the bad as most people recognize me now a days and are friendly, but there is still the few leo who will cop a strange attitude with Celeste as if she’s about to be the next biggest crim mafioso to pull off a million dollar heist, but I have to say, and it’s probably strangest to say that most of my positive interactions on the server come from the crim characters. It may not be a noticeable difference to you, but to someone like me, and probably a vast majority of other players on the server who don’t occupy the leo faction, it is very noticeable how a majority of leo’s tend to treat the players who aren’t part of leo factions, I have noticed some toxicity, again nothing directly targeted at me, but I have seen and heard it from among other players I am close with.
