my suggestion is maybe a bit out of the box but hear me out.

so when a crim gets banned for breaching to many rules on crim level, 
i think it would be wise to only ban that character, 

just because they dont understand the lines in gangs doesnt mean their other char "where they RP as a cop or a civil"
doesnt mean they cant do a great job as a cop or their civil character.

however cheating, hacking ofc, etc is all ban.
 

but i think we have a fundamental flaw here, some people can be not great crims in their knowledge but amazing as a cop or civil on their other char.

correct me if im wrong, juust putting a impulsive thought out here

When you break server rules that result in punishments, including bans, this is not a reflection of a character, but the player. This would make no sense to "ban a character".

No, people who continuously break rules to the point they're banned have nothing to do with the character they play. Its down to the actual person, switching characters would just be the same rule breaks under a different name.

if someone violates NLR on their crim for the 3rd time and gets banned for a week (hypothetical punishment i dont remember off the dome what it actually is), why wouldn't they repeat that on their civ/gov character?

The fundamental idea for bans and punishments in general is that they serve as "last resort" after attempts to educate the player. If it gets to that point, then clearly its regarding something that would apply across characters, not just some IC situation.

i guess there is no point argueing with 16 year olds, who flame up for whatever doest fit their narow box.

all im saying here, you can be like a bad crim being a total idiot,
but you can on the other side be an amazing cop, just because you have more expierence on that field specific, 

there are cops out there who do outstanding work but would not do as great being a crim or civil.
the fact you guys dont even dare to consider but just right out jump to conclusions, truely defines your inteligence. not mine.

in a way your argument is correct, but not every rulebreach is from evil intention, we have our imperfections, and what im trying to highlight is, maybe someone is not a great being a crim, but could be doing a lot better playing a different role. we all have our intelectial advances but also flaws. 

i think it would be better if we try figure out where someone belongs and can flourish
instead of flatout punishment with no constructive guidance to do better in the future

Ritchie really on smoke in the comments.

Just banning one character won’t work. Whatever character a person plays they should know the rules across all characters. Being a crim puts you in way more likely situations where rulebreaks may occur compared to a legal, but it’s still up to them to know what they can and can’t do.

Our rules are expected to be followed by the player, not the character they are playing on and it is up to that player as a person to understand the rules as they stand.

With respect, if someone is unable to follow the rules on one side (civ/crim/cop) but can on the other, that's just an issue on the player's end of rule comprehension.

This suggestion will not be considered.
