vZelfeR Posted August 31, 2025 Report Posted August 31, 2025 (edited) This is one of the most frustrating issues on the server I have experienced so far during criminal RP. Issue When players get arrested they will have their belongings taken from them and the LEO will take the belongings to DOC and if a warden is clocked on they should leave the items in a DOC locker for the prisoner to get their items back after their time has finished. Instead... What happens far too often is one of several things: LEO's will take the belongings to PD or SD stations (Sandy or Paleto) LEO's will leave the belongings in their vehicle and go off duty causing the items to completely disappear (A new one for today I witnessed) The LEO will leave the items in the vehicle being impounded and suspend your licences meaning you cannot get your items back for some time. LEO's will leave the items in DOC (as they should) but then sometimes there are no DOC to pass the items back (This isn't so much an issue as it is an activity thing and DOC can't expect to be manned at all times.) The biggest issue I have with all of this is, you get released from DOC, you have no vehicle, GPS, radio or items and if you are a New Player, then you have no friends to pick you up or any knowledge of what to do. If you even have any money, you then have to wait a while for a taxi or have to grab a CityBee if there are no taxis clocked on and start hunting for your items. Hopefully by the end of this long search you don't find out you now have to do an IA report to try and get reimbursed for the lost items (with no proof) that disappeared in the faction vehicle. Assuming most players have given up by this point and New Players have already left the server. Solution A short term solution could be locked safes with the prisoner being given the safe code with their belongings in to take. The next arrest, an LEO would set a new code and vice versa... this would require manage perms for LEO's unless a faction perm could be added for locked safes. A long term solution would be more automation for belongings, either when arrested or having a locker assigned to a prisoner ID that an LEO can deposit the items into, and scriptly, only the associated prisoner or a DOC/LEO member can access these. Open to more suggestions as I know I am not the only one who has experienced this issue and it is quite frustrating as well as a massive waste of everyones time as other LEO's then have to join in the hunt of looking for other players' belongings. Don't really feel the GPS needs to be taken from a player during an arrest or at any time as it can't be used for anything and doesn't make much RP sense to take it. Quietthecutie Posted August 31, 2025 Report Posted August 31, 2025 Some of these suggestions are not really workable. The safe code thing just requires too much manual imput. Id propose the same system proposed for impound. Id be down for a semi automated system based on how many staff of that particular locker is currently clocked on. For instance, if you have less than 2 DOC or 6 PD/SD, its a fairly safe bet that a crim wanting their items back will face a hefty delay or be ignored completely. Nobodys fault, everyones just busy with more pressing tasks. Alternatively have it on a timer. If you ring for assistance and no pne shows up in 20 minutes or so, you can retrieve you own things so long as you pay any required fees. 1 Quote

The safe code was only meant as a short term fix until an actual solution is implemented but I see your point, in reality it would require staff to be unlocking safes all the time. I like the idea of an impound system for belongings! Semi auto is definitely the way to go because, if the chance is there for RP, then I would always rather that!! Quote
Eliza Posted September 1, 2025 Report Posted September 1, 2025 Ive always agreed that your items should be automatically stored and retrieved for you when you get released from DOC, maybe a solution to this could be to move the location of the scripted legal items locker, and let anyone access their own legal belongings locker by themselves, and DOC or PD/SD would still have to store the legal items they take from somebody during an arrest in there. I don’t think I’m alone when I say it can be frustrating waiting for somebody to retrieve your items for you at early or late hours when there’s hardly anybody working, I’ve personally waited upwards to an hour sometimes before just giving up and trying to next day. 1 1 Quote
Earl Mud Posted September 1, 2025 Report Posted September 1, 2025 Due to my timezone, I've been trying to 3 weeks with no one at DOC to retrieve my items. It's bad when people have a friend get caught to force a cop to doc to help. 1 Quote
Requiem Posted September 2, 2025 Report Posted September 2, 2025 In an ideal world, a LEO or DOC officer would take the necessarily/illegal items that shouldn't be returned to the player prior to using the /prison command to process them, and then the /prison command would automatically wipe the players inventory for the time they are in prison, and automatically return those items to them when they finish their sentence, so when the player returns to the DOC lobby, their items are back in their inventory again. 3 Quote

Eliza Posted October 21, 2025 Report Posted October 21, 2025 Bumping this, script wise this could be implemented by making legal items lockers global instead of per locker, and move the location 1 Quote
itsJonathan Posted October 27, 2025 Report Posted October 27, 2025 sorry if this is else where, but why does the city not add the option to get items from D.O.C Lockers like the impound lot? i have spent hours on hours trying to get my items from the lockers just to be ignored by the guards when they are there, and also ignored when making 911 calls. admins dont even want to temp rp the scenario! the worst part is when the guards run by you to just disconnect. AnakinB Posted October 27, 2025 Report Posted October 27, 2025 god knows what i got in my lockers bro, i stopped going and trying to get that shit out Quote
astrx Posted October 27, 2025 Report Posted October 27, 2025 I agree with this suggestion. This could use the impound script where you call for assistance then if you get no assistance within a specified amount of time, you can enter your own locker and take the things out of it. Quote
Timmaayy Posted October 27, 2025 Report Posted October 27, 2025 Both Senior Staff and the Developers are aware of this request and understand the need for this system. Whilst I can't make any promises from a scripting side, wait to see what the upcoming updates will provide. Quote
KarleyJon Posted October 27, 2025 Report Posted October 27, 2025 I hope it gets priority! This feature is absolutely crucial Quote
Eliza Posted October 27, 2025 Report Posted October 27, 2025 @itsJonathan I have merged your suggestion onto this thread as it’s suggesting the same thing Quote
