UseroneGaming Posted July 23, 2025 Report Posted July 23, 2025 Law enforcement use that equipment for work. Workers having to pay for work equipment as full-time employees and not freelancers just doesn't make sense. While we're at it, can we get rid of the $2,000 fee to report a stolen firearm? Cause that makes just as much sense as this. Thanks. 1 Quote
Bala Posted July 23, 2025 Report Posted July 23, 2025 This is fucking hilarious. If you guys want a realistic police department, can we have realistic behaving criminals? No more running around permanently obscuring your face with masks, no more driving your vehicle at speeds you wouldn't realistically be able to handle, no more ignoring the effects of a taser, no more running around with radios chatting about your criminal enterprises, no more getting your licenses back after 6 hours because they'll permanently be gone for serious driving offences, you won't be able to leave prison if you've gotten a third strike for violent felonies because you'll have life. If you agree to all of those things, I'll pay for my guns and my vehicles if I mis-use them. You don't want realism or fair play, you want a eunuched police faction. Get out of here with that, lmao. 6 Quote

This just isn't true. I made this suggestion with LEO RP in the forefront of my mind. I included the fact that PD weapons could be added to the overall sandbox as an additional thought. This suggestion wasn't made to "Nerf PD" or to give criminals access to PD equipment, it's exclusively just to add some change to inventory management to LEO RP. One thing this server could really use is to be less afraid of making changes like this that sound slightly offensive until they're put in practice. If it goes wrong and the server turns into a PVP mess then fine revert it, but being afraid to make big changes to make things vary is what causes boredom. I've been away for 6 months and I have no sense of FOMO, everything feels the same, it shouldn't feel that way. Quote
Tomvd682 Posted August 13, 2025 Report Posted August 13, 2025 (edited) If done, the guns should be rather cheap to purchase, having the department "fund" for the bigger part of the cost, let's say 80% or whatever. It would maybe improve some zombiewave-like fights, due to caring more about what you've got, though I don't think it should "cost cost" LEO's a substantial amount, whereas they have to grind to get equipment, it should be a semi-negligible price if implemented. This could also create more roleplay by having PD/SD protect their equipment shipments occasionally, as a stock of equipment needs to be maintained. If done, this should also be implemented for all other factions with spawned-in equipment, I could imagine how this would add more gameplay for managing positions as well as for the people helping to retrieve/ship the equipment To combat people hunting cops, possession of police weaponry should be a stupidly expensive charge and make you eligible to be raided, to search for more stolen equipment.
