AnnoyingOne Posted May 8, 2025 Report Posted May 8, 2025 Super cars aren't even about performance, haven't been for the last 4+ years, it's about status 1 1 Quote

Sounds so depressing, whats the point in trying to get a better car, it takes away the magic in things. Also people who spend 20 mil on a super car, takes a away all the purpose in achieving things Is the implication that the only difference between any two vehicles is how fast they go? 20 million dollar super cars are 20 million dollars because they are typically 1 of 1, or the amount of them is otherwise limited. At the end of the day, Roleplay isn't about achievement, it's about enjoyment, if the only way you can enjoy the game is by going 240, I honestly am not here to shit on that. The idea is that by capping the speed at 200, you'd have a myriad of vehicles that are just as suitable for pursuits as the 1 of 1 supercars that only a small fraction of the server own. Would this lower the value of 1 of 1 vehicles? or any vehicle that goes 240 right now? of course it would. Would it increase the value of MANY more vehicles? I think it would. Quote

Achievement = enjoyment for most people. In fact, that's the whole reason video games have progression. End of the day, Roleplay or otherwise, this is a video game. Quote

Bold of you to speak for "Most people," especially on a roleplay server lmao. It's hard to think that the driving force to play a role-playing game is "achievements." It's kinda unfair to the people you've spent 1000s of hours roleplaying with. I'm pretty sure you played the game with them because you like them, not because anyone would reward you for playing the game with them, or because you thought maybe you'd get a T20 out of it. And I hope you've enjoyed the time you've spent with your friends roleplaying. It's EXTREMELY easy to take for granted the social aspect of the server and RP in general. But that's kinda off topic innt. This is about capping the speed to 200. 1 Quote

I think it's important to remember that going 240 is easier than ever. Cars like the D5 are extremely affordable (Around 250K) This kinda of blows the "It takes a lot of grinding/hard work to get a car that goes that fast" out of the water. The D5 invalidates 100s of vehicles in this way. Why spend big money on a Comet/VSTR/ any other fast vehicle when you can get the same for cheaper? Why spend extra money to roleplay when you can win for cheaper? Quote

But it wouldn't do anything for the multitude of cars that don't get used because they aren't meta. Quote

I don't hate re-adjusting the prices, but it would cause a situation where people who already have these vehicles make bank on the market changing.I'm not a dev but this would also take A LOT of work compared to restricting speed across the board. But also, you're right, this WOULD have 0 on people who already have meta vehicles. What is the ultimate goal of this suggestion? Disrupting stagnant meta that revolves around going 240. You can make the vehicles cost more, but people will likely do what they do now, just wait till they have enough money for a 240 vehicle, while driving an off-road motorcycle or BMX to evade police in the meantime. Some questions I think people ought to ask when thinking about this suggestion- Does anyone need to go to 240 to enjoy themselves? Is there a reason to go 240 besides trying to escape the ops/cops?
