Some of my gripes with PD on this server

I think the best solution to this would be to close any thread that has anything sligthly negative mentioned or insinuniated about any LEO faction so people are FORCED to go to the feedback section in the government website.

Like literally Admins insta locking any thread when there is something said that is negative about LEO's

Examples:

"Jason Steele is a..." CLOSED

"You know what, PD should.." CLOSED

"I think SD are doing a great job, but.." CLOSED

They only get closed when the tone of the replies goes from polite discussion and disagreement to a shit flinging contest. I respect someones right to disagree and try to make their opinion heard, even if we have been here many times before. They can get a community discussion going, hear differing opinions and perspectives. you can get more out of these discussions than gamplay changes.

As I said, alot of Crims do not have an LEO alt and dont understand that side of the RP. These forum discussions help shed some light on it for them if nothing else. There is alot of misconceptions about what LEOs do. some of the funnier ones i remember are we use admin powers to check Houses to raid, K9 Units can check cars driving by and detect things before even pulling them over, LEOs just out of academy get automatic weapons etc.

As outlandish and wild as these things sound to anyone whos actually played in one of those factions for longer than a few weeks, apparently some people believe stuff like that cus rumor mill amongst their friends and gang members spawns it. So its nice to be able to have a discussion here to iron that kinda stuff out too.

I’d love to see some proof. Was there a survey, or are we just making assumptions now? Nobody’s asking for a fully realistic department, that’s not even possible in GTA. But there’s a huge gap between realism and outright absurdity.

Look at the replies on any thread regarding prison times, on this forum.

Proof? Was there a survey by chance, or are we just making assumptions now? Why are we always assuming the absolute worst about crims when they complain about things? Ever thought about why they’re bitching? I get it, prison is not supposed to be fun. But this is a video game. And in a video game, “fun” = engaging. Not an AFK simulator. But that's a different topic for a different day.

Again, check ANY thread regarding prison times on this forum.

Not even GTAW does that, lmao. My brother-man… this is a game. A GAME. PEOPLE WANNA PLAY. You’re talking about giving people digital life sentences like this is Death Row RP. Are you yanking my pizzle? HAHAHAHA

I don't imagine there is anything tangible to grab onto, like your posts. It is a game, but the expectation of people like you and some of the other people in this thread is that for the PD, it's a realism simulator. For everyone else, do as you like.

More assumptions to keep your narrative afloat. You’re not addressing anything that was actually said, just building strawmen to knock down.

There is a pretty clear reason why people are willing to spend 100s of euros on credits for pay-to-win credit vehicles, Harvey, and it's not for the culture.

All the dude did was bring up valid concerns. And all you got from it is “crims wanna win.” Why am I not even remotely surprised? Hmmm...

I don't really care about your surprise, lmao. A minority of criminals have had been beating the same drum for years, it's boring and predictable at his point.

People have been reporting things here, for years. Through all the “proper” channels, too. And nothing ever changes. You guys have access to the forums too so you can see it all no? You tell us to reach out, but every time we do, the outcome is the same, biased responses. It’s just damage control. You say “We’re here to listen” just to appear approachable, but in reality, you don’t give a crap about crims. Because if you did, we would’ve seen actual progress by now.

Now who is making assumptions. You've never been anything of significance in a law enforcement faction Harvey so don't pretend like you know what goes on in them, especially PD.

In fact, just this week, a player on the server used our report system to discuss how we operate on the server and we went in depth with those concerns at our supervisor meeting and then took the time to respond to their concerns, because they bothered to reach out.

When someone reports someone in-character, Internal Affairs takes as unbiased a view on handling those situations, depending on the incident and the evidence available to come to a fair conclusion. IA is ran by experienced faction members and overseen by Administrators.

There has been very little, if any, complaints from Legal Faction Management regarding the behavior of our faction, so with respect, there is no damage to control. We don't have to be liked, it's not a popularity contest but we do our best within the server we actually have, to be as fair as we can.

So, what is it? Is it a conspiracy by Legal Faction Management and the Server's Administration to suppress complaints and protect the PD faction or is it maybe, that after digging into most of these complaints, there is very little substance to it or maybe, just maybe, there is a lack of evidence to support the complaint.

Also, what happened to that public PD announcement, the one that “mysteriously” poofed in the air? You know, the one where you said:

That statement was a blatant lie and you knew it. The timing made it painfully obvious too. A bunch of PD detectives received several admin punishments from a “certain“ staff member, and magically, right after that, PD wants change? Come on. That entire announcement was made in bad faith because you literally started it with a blatant lie. I'm not sure how you thought people would actually believe that.. The reality of things is you weren’t being transparent. You were trying to protect your image, not fix anything. You said “we will start making amends“ etc etc etc. The only thing that was amended was the existence of the announcement.

And now it’s been deleted!! Shocker. Almost like you didn’t want people to remember what was actually said and the fake promises you made. The reality is, you still aren’t willing to admit that there are real, long-standing issues that need to be addressed, because if you were, we wouldn’t still be having this conversation.

Again, we were under absolutely no obligation to post that announcement but just as you have on this forum, criminal roleplayers brought that up in /b when they found themselves in a situation they did not like. We acted in good faction and it was weaponised and turned on us, so in the end, we fucked it off.

People weren't happy with the carrot they were given, so they went back to getting the stick again.

I'll be transparent, if anything, at this moment I feel PD is probably too concerned with the opinions of other players at the moment, if anything. I'd happily hear out anyone that conducts themselves on their criminal character with OOC decency and a positive mindset and do what I could to support those factions, either in terms of the modding stuff or in their interactions with the people. I take issue with specific individuals but never an entire criminal faction.

The problem is, there are just too many people like you, Harvey, that don't act in good faith and make things personal against factions for their own reasons.

The real long standing issue is that there is no consistency in Eclipse, every one wants some thing different and there is no unifying force anymore to tie every thing together and point people all in the same direction. So, cops face one way, criminal factions another, civilian another and government another then pulls in their direction of choice.

That's exactly how it should be. When police trash cans can't go as fast as this sports car.

I see the point in that too. BUT BUT BUT - if they are being used for run then it would be much more expensive to get them out of impound. Like 100k or 150k for these sport/supercars easy.

This video touched my heart. That despair

The fact you do not see a problem with a car that someone paid nearly 200 real life dollars for being able to hold W and escape police is an issue.

I truly hope you don't complain when a cop that also paid 200 real life dollars for uses their own car to catch you.

This is not a vehicle someone played the game to acquire. This is a vehicle that someone swiped a credit card for. This person did not earn this car through roleplay or character development or even degenerate money grinding. It was an OOC asset. If they are entitled to use it to escape, surely a member of law enforcement is entitled to use their own OOC asset. Thank you for opening my eyes to this. Your post really touched my heart and showed me a different side of things!

While I agree with some points, I don't support all of them, if I understood right, you are simply pointing out that PD/SD are overpowered which I agree about.
for the people who mostly play on PD/SD characters:
Sometimes try to understand the opposite side, and not rapidly aim to attack him with your replies, to point out that he is wrong. A lot post about these stuff regarding the LEOs maybe there is something wrong.

First, spending 200 hours saving up for a car or something else I wouldn't call Roleplay. Most people who start playing spend the first 200-500 hours, if not more, just trying to save a few dollars. And maybe then they start thinking about RP. Those who chose to be Policemen did so on their own. But that doesn't mean they will always win every RP situation. You must have misunderstood what this term means. A lot of people who play here and are part of this community don't even understand what type of server they're playing on.

Yesterday I came across a person with 200k exp and using the /me /do commands for the first time. Like common man

The fact that he spends his money to get something for it is only normal, he doesn't spend 200 hours saving money but chooses to enjoy RP.

You missed his point. It's not something that was obtained through IC means but is being used as an IC advantage.

If you are fine with that, then you should also be fine with cops using personal Niobes to chase you.

I don't necessarily agree with that, but that was the point. Not something about grinding for assets.
