David Coast Posted January 12, 2025 Report Posted January 12, 2025 Lets edit license suspensions from 24 OOC hours to 24 IC hours. Lets discuss.
Demonmit1 Posted January 12, 2025 Report Posted January 12, 2025 (edited) 24 IC hours is 4 hours OOC. I think that instead of 1 = days, it should be 1=hours, and then Icly each traffic based crime has an hour/hours penalty to it. Where like, evading is a 8 hour suspension, but reckless is only 4. But if you get charged added up, it can still end up being OOCly 24 hours. Edited January 12, 2025 by Demonmit1

Why bother suspending them at all at that point. Maybe we could refund the bullets someone wastes when they try to kill someone? Is a 24 hour license suspension in ECRP valid? Probably not but at the same time, 4 hours is actually nothing. 12 would be fine.

Sure, I just honestly believe that 24 hours is too long and people will just avoid playing the server for a day if they get one. I feel like something along the lines of the jail script would be better, like its suspended for 4 hours of being on the server instead of 12 hours in or out of the server. 1
IAmTurtle Posted January 12, 2025 Report Posted January 12, 2025 I'm going to say the line. If you can't do the time don't do the crime. Also there is so much you can do with a license suspension if you aint dumb. Secondly what are we going to do next. Have a 5 min suspension? 1
Quietthecutie Posted January 12, 2025 Report Posted January 12, 2025 (edited) From my understanding of previous conversations part of this is a script issue. Were that to be overcome, as i previous suggested, I think having VIP reduce licence suspensions (the same way they do Jtime) from 24 hours, to 12 to 6 to 4 depending on VIP tier is perfectly reasonable and would be a good incentive. The server makes more revenue, crims will benefit, and i really dont think we would see a massive spike in crime rates. Most peoples play sessions dont last longer than 4-6 hours and i dont think most crims care about getting their licences back on the day, its the following day when you log on and see its still suspended that kills you. Chapman Posted January 12, 2025 Report Posted January 12, 2025 License suspensions are in days, but switching them to hours could be nice. You could also offer the same reductions for VIPs as you do for jail/prison times. There should be a minimum, though, so you aren't giving out 1-2 hour suspensions from the law enforcement side, as there should still be a punishment. For example instead of a 1 day license suspension maybe its only 3-6 hours for a simple evading charge. The more severe the charge the longer the suspension. Law enforcement shouldn't stack the overall total hours of suspension time rather just going with the highest law with the longest suspension time the person broke.
MrSilky Posted January 12, 2025 Report Posted January 12, 2025 Hey there! This is something we are currently looking into. The final picture is not yet confirmed, but the current vision is that suspension time will be custom and not the same for all crimes and will be set in the penal code for uniformity (capped at most no more than current suspensions - likely much less). We will announce when/if this is something we proceed with implementing. Thank you for the suggestion 3 3 2
