  1. 1. Anyone else feel like police tasers should be nerfed? I feel like there should be a cooldown after each shot as the police can just continually shoot the taser. IRL the taser shoots out barbs attached to the taser. So it should have to be reloaded

Yes, IRL the barbs stay attached to the suspect, so the officer can keep holding the trigger on tazer, incapacitating the suspect whenever they want.

If people RPed the effects of the razer and not instantly start running, we would only taze once.

I’d be on board with implementing an ammo capacity for taser cartridges so they can’t just be spammed. Aside from that i believe tasers are fine as is.

Ill happily take a reload/longer timer to the Taser if the tradeoff is people cant just get up and run the moment their ragdoll stops.

LEOs dont want to continually tase people but when people just get up and run, what are the other options? chain tackling? dosent seem any better.

There is a separate Taser weapon designed for GTAV Online (weapon_stungun_mp - 0x45CD9CF3) with a decently higher recharge speed of 12 seconds, and also can NOT be shot from a vehicle, which aligns with server rules. It does have a higher damage value of 20, while the normal Taser has a damage value of 1. I could see the value in switching to this weapon if the damage was lowered.

Or keep the 20 damage value, but disallow the weapon from fully injuring a player, or make the tazer not let them run/jump for 30-60 seconds after the stun runs out. Lots of options here.

Just modify the taser to apply a debuff to the player's stamina/speed so it slows them down after being tased so a tackle can properly be used afterwards. This way, everyone wins. It allows the criminal the chance to still resist or run if they want and it allows cops other options to capture them rather than only the taser. The primary issue currently is that everyone runs the same speed (as long as they aren't injured), so tackling isn't viable. The taser is the only real option to catch someone. Another alternative option would be to add the beanbag shotgun that @Bala made. Then it would be an alternative to the taser as well that would knock someone down from a distance.
